its important to read, watch, and play bad media too. you cant just take in good things. you need to be able to engage with something bad and you need to be able to figure out why it fails where other things dont. unfortunately this does mean you essentially need to make the decision to not have an enjoyable time for however long it takes to finish it

gay/bi mike wheeler discourse is so hilarious from my pov. I'm here sitting on my bench watching you all going at each other's troaths virtually, eating popcorn and knowing that Mike is straight, that the Duffer Brothers are lazy and they wrote Will to be in love with Mike because they wanted to take the safer route : sad gay kid pining over his straight best friend. They didn't add a new character for Will in season four because it wasn't suitable for Will and Mike storyline. If Argyle wouldn't have existed and in his place there would have been the new Will's love interest, what the fuck would Mike have done for eight episodes ? Will's storyline would have been different, he couldn't be Mike's counselor. Will and Mike's storylines in season four are attached not because there is this big plot twist around the corner and by*ler will be endgame, it's because of cheap, lazy writing. They didn't know what to do with both of them. So it's really funny reading this whole online discourse "Mike is clearly gay" "Mike is perfect bi representation" when i am here with a bitter taste in my mouth thinking that in good hands, in hands that really cared about queer identity and queer representation Will Byers would have been treated differently.

Scene Equivalent Development!

I wrote this up AGES ago on Instagram and yet again totally forgot to post it here! So… uh…here a lil hint of what this scene equivalent is! 👀😅✨

I was super stuck on this for a while but when it finally hit I was like OOOO! Given the Chaotixs are almost always broke imagining how extra broke they’d be in this scenario is hilarious to me. And they have quite the grudge with Sonic… (which honestly I think just about everyone probably does in this au).

I have so many fun interactions in mind for them and the scene! I also just love the idea that the first interaction Miles/Tails probably has with another kid close to his age is him terrified defensively holding out his little zapper deceive (frying pan equivalent!) and Charmy seeing it and being like “HOW MUCH DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT WOULD SELL FOR?!”. Poor little guy just wants to be able to afford cookies <\3

since i have some flatland followers now, figured i'd say that a while back i made a flatland short film and put it on youtube! it was a short grayscale animated thing about an isosceles-born equilateral. i'm not conceited enough to think anyone's desperately looking for it, but if you were curious as to why it isn't on youtube anymore, it was my final for one of my senior year college animation classes and was tied to my school email, so when i graduated and my college deleted my email account, the youtube account i'd made for all my school projects also got deleted

i'm not super proud of the film anymore, tbh, (i did all the hand-drawn portions of the film in one desperate 24 hour sitting,) but i might repost it on here at some point, just... with my full legal name edited out, because again, originally a school project

Have you heard of the rumors that have been swirling for months now that Disney has been practically begging Adam Driver to play Reed Richards in Fantastic 4 and he's repeatedly have told them flat out no? They at least acknowledge that he's a money maker if it's true and will eventually give up. But they'll be back after repeatedly being upstaged by Reylo authors within the next few years and will probably offer full college funds for his kids plus $20 million in exchange for starring in a sequel to the 1998 version of The Parent Trap with Daisy Ridley as Annie/Hallie or some shit.

I kept hearing that they were 'in talks' with him or he was all but cast etc. and never bought it. I see no reason to believe he'd agree to sign on for that given what he's doing right now and what he's said before about corporate movie products.

It'd be a terrible career move for him at the moment and he doesn't need the money. Maybe if/when he wants to get into producing or to help a director he wants to work with, they'll get him in some MCU dreck, but I doubt he ever considered saying yes to this.
