Deep Dive Into Songbird's Body Update
Digging into details about So Mi's chromed body, aka overanalysing the food given to us some time ago. Enjoy :)
Diagnostic scans
Adrenaline control and pain editor are interesting ones. It means So Mi technically could mute herself to any pain if the systems were working correctly. There's also a morality aspect to this implant. More about it is in the shard.
Error with environmental sensors and flawed response time made me think though... does that mean So Mi's upper body may be unresponsive at the time of the Killing Moon? Meaning, if V touches her shoulder she may not even be aware of that? It could also explain her driving skills lmao
Excuse me, but her system is only at 23% compatibility?? Her chrome is literally barely functioning together?
It seems like all her body parts are infected. Now, this got my interest. If whatever is killing Song has its source in her brain... how does it work excaclty? What is the nature of her 'infection'? If neural matrix was supposedly able to save both V and Song, does that mean her neural pathways were also being altered? Is the thing that's killing her fighting for control just as Johnny's engram or is it different?
I'll digress a little, but a certain thought occured to me - remember how in Somewhat Damaged So Mi decides that the only remaining option she has is to connect to Cynosure's core? Isn't it excaclty what V does in some of the endings with Mikoshi...? (perhaps I'll return to this thought later in the future.)
Cosplay guides
It is now confirmed that So Mi's upper body is made of synth skin, but when you look at the texture it is slightly different than the skin on her face or legs.
It's interesting how the synth skin is attached to her hands which are basically just a part of the metal skeleton.
I'm staying with the theory that it's her real skin on face and legs. She also has skin on her skull, so I assume it's an organic one as well.
In the last post about her body I theorised the yellow cables may be her nerves, but after consideration I changed my mind.
There's simply too many of them, especially in the upper part - they're just so squeezed behind that glass?
They connect to the "power thingy"
They're mentioned in her description as "a glimpse of the netrunning power that courses through her body"
Thus, I replace my old theory with a new one - I think these cables are actually responsible for her ✨netrunning magic✨
Speaking of, we know that thanks to her implants So Mi can connect to the Net without any need of a netrunner chair/ice bath. Yet, during Spider And The Fly she mentiones that she pretty much could use a "cool, comfy ice bath".
This seemingly unimportant comment made me believe that So Mi is able to overheat when she connects to the Net. The tiny little detail on one of the cables connecting to her brain kinda confirmed it?
if she can overheat, she can be a microwave too
I believe parts that I selected with red colour might be responsible for her nervous system. It's the same material as her throat, so perhaps she could actually feel what she eats/drinks🧐If not tho, then perhaps it has something to do with the cooling system? But then where is her nervous system??
One more part of her body interests me - the protected insides? Perhaps that's where the magic of internal organ replacements happens?
Another thing is the metal piece on her chest (@ofwhatoncewas you mentioned it before🥺)and a random thought occurred to me - what if it's protection for her heart (if she even still has an organic one, which I doubt)?? Honestly, I have no idea what real purpose it can serve.
I have to go back and mention these plastic pieces on her hips again(selected with blue) , because they bother me. a lot. I cannot stop thinking how uncomfortable they are whenever I see them.
Think about it - with these things blocking her movement, there's no way she could bend in any way. Pay attention to how she sits or stands in game. She is forced to remain in this one straight position, and lemme tell you - it's exhausting. But, I guess she got used to it after 7 years of living like this :')
The way she positions herself, especially in the van, proves that she is unable of any other more comfortable position.
One last thing I want to include in this post are the mysterious signs on her body parts.
caution (both sides of the head)
warning invisible laser (?) avoid exposure (?)
restricted to corporate law enforcement use only
btw imagine being a 'corporate property' and being reminded of it by your own body🤡

just gonna put my ideas in this list cause...i'm gay and forgetful but I also don't want to keep too many thoughts because it drives my brain to sleep for 8 hrs that isn't sleep during the night. anyways:
- Wednesday is the new vet in town, begrudgingly because it was her third degree (she's a child prodigy aight) and she liked animals (preferably dead tho) and Enid is your next door werewolf.
- Wednesday is kidnapped and uses the dog sound (from that scene with the choir) and Enid is feral and Wednesday is a blushing mess when she sees her wolf tear them to pieces.
- everytime they fight Wednesday brings up yoko and Enid teases her. after finding out, yoko is mysteriously in the infirmary. garlic bread, again. damn it, enid.
- coffee shop au. Enid is your bubbly barista and stands for women helping women so when an incredibly attractive maybe psychotic girl goes up the counter followed by a dull looking guy *coughs* she introduces you as her girlfriend cause why the fuck not?
*Understanding the situation - she knew reading fanfiction until 5 a.m. would come in handy someday - she put on her best frown and said, "I'd appreciate if you stayed away from my girlfriend," what was his name again? "dude."
- 5 times +1 except it's 5 times Wednesday crashes Enid's date after they break up and one time she doesn't (happy ending obviously).
- enid disappears during her birthday, yoko said it was a normal occurrence. Wednesday wants to know why.
- Wednesday gets a secret admirer except Enid accidentally send a threatening note instead of a love declaration (lol Wednesday would be so down for that tho).
- near death situation where enid vs Tyler rematch and Wednesday is scared shitless at the thought that Enid could be dead and so much angst and the build up with 'if you die, I will burn this realm and everyone in it as I live and suffer through the years crying out your name so the world will never forget you'
- enid and Wednesday fluff. that's it
- 50k-100k slow burn fic where Wednesday has an internal struggle on whether she is actually deserving of Enid despite being an Addams and Enid thinking her best friend/crush is in love with someone else.
- the au where Wednesday is a writer and Enid wanna buys her book for her friend (yoko) without knowing Wednesday is the writer and they're gay and they fall in love and Wednesday always starts her books with a word starting with e and ending it with a word starting to s and it's only when she proposes does enid know.
That's most of it, I'll add some when I can. Tho some have probably been done before but like I wanna make my own as well. Wenclair canon bitches.

Part of a post I'm writing that I think distracts from the actual subject of that post but I feel like saying it anyway;
The Crepus situation seems to be pretty well-preserved from manga to game, from what I can tell. Diluc's vague about it but actually saw the scene, from beginning to end.
Kaeya insists Diluc killed his dad but arrived late and didn't actually see what happened, nor did he have a clear view of what Diluc was doing at the time.
Considering how I'm...relatively sure their whole confession-then-fight thing went down not too long later on top of everything else, I don't think they've ever actually, like...talked about it.
...What I'm saying is, I'm pretty sure Crepus died from the whole overuse of Delusion thing, especially since they made special effort to draw him disintegrating rather than as a regular-ass corpse, which is not something Genshin has ever or will ever shy away from. Not "trapped in agony and Diluc had to murder him himself". I could easily be wrong, but considering everything else we see and hear in the manga and game, it would be real fuckin' weird that the only person whose word we have to go off on for details is Kaeya, the belated party that was NOT there for inciting incident.
I genuinely think Kaeya made an incorrect assumption and just...hasn't ever had it cleared up. Because he and Diluc aren't talking. And who knows how Diluc's actually handling the situation. Whether he did or didn't mercy kill his dad, the survivor's guilt has to be immense regardless.
Anyways, point being, I love and adore Kaeya, I really do.
But he's a pessimist and also a little bit of an idiot at the best of times.
One that's smart, crafty, and perfectly capable in many areas, but keep in mind he was gonna kill Collei without actually assessing what her real problem was because he was projecting so hard, and I think he's only somewhat learned to project a little less in the actual game.
Not everything every single fictional character says is 100% actual, true, unbiased fact, even if the character themselves might 10000% believe in it.
And I just...think it's very deliberate that the manga showed the events the way it did, and ALSO had only Kaeya say directly that Diluc killed Crepus. We see the events for ourselves. The events are ambiguous and look way more like Diluc hardly had any reaction time beyond being able to pick Crepus up. (Which could easily be why he has blood on his face; from picking up a bleeding man.)
It just feels deliberate. Very, very deliberate storytelling.
And Maybe I'm Wrong. That's not too weird.
Maybe it'll never be confirmed one way or the other.
I just...think we shouldn't rest on our laurels and call something completely canon when it's, so far, been left very much ambiguous.
