Better than Brad
A lot of women hit on my fiancé. A lot of woman tell him he looks like a young Brad Pitt. I’m always like, yeah okay 👌 😉 I don’t mind though because I’m secure in our relationship. And I also kinda like seeing other women swoon over him. He’s definitely got that boyish charming thing going for him.
Tonight I’m looking over at him; passed out, slumped in a chair in a old wife beater. And I had the thought, “Hmm he really does look like Brad Pitt…
But a dirty, white trash version of Brad Pitt.”
And for some reason, that is SO much hotter.
😂 I think I’m going to go wake him up 🤫

Gallavich Lovefest 2023
Day Five –Multi-chapter Fics
Gallaghers as trapeze artists? Mickey training the tigers and he talks to his best tigress in Ukrainian? Sheila makes the costumes for the entire circus troupe and is their homeschool tutor?
Oh yeah, only @stillbeatingheart can do this shit right here. I know, SBH is well-known for her angst fics, but this one is low on the angst-o-meter. It's safe here. 😉

Alien Stage is so crazy to me because it’s. It’s about many things but what stands out to me the most is how the children of Anakt Garden during times of extreme hardship and fear and literal alien colonization, instead of looking toward some omniscient being(s) for salvation or succumbing to cynicism/nihilism, they look toward each other to find hope. All it takes is a connection with one person, just one instance of butterflies in a society where things like love and romance are all but obsolete, and now they’re making that person their God their reason to live and breathe and wake up every morning. (Or, in some cases, to give up their lives. If it means protecting the life of their beloved.) And it’s like. It’s as if what sets us apart from aliens or simply what makes us human is our capacity to whole-heartedly, unabashedly love one another. Even to the end of ourselves.

one of the funniest sections of pliny the elder's natural histories to me is in book 30 when pliny excitedly says that moles are the animal that magicians love most and then goes on to explain that it's because moles are creatures becursed and despised by nature itself

Fun fact: Hammerhead sharks are exceptional at playing hide-and-sea-k. 🙈🏃
A hammerhead’s eyes are located at the extreme ends of its very wide head — giving it a fintastic field of vision. They can see above, below, and even behind them! 👀
If that wasn’t enough of an advantage, they also have special electroreceptors (called ampullae of Lorenzini) that can sense weak electrical fields created by the muscular movements of prey — even one as invisible as the beating heart of an animal hidden in the sand.
Next time you’re playing a game of hide and seek, manifest your inner hammerhead shark to win!

"I remember going back and going, ‘No, wait a minute, this isn’t a woman’s role.’ This is … ’cause you gotta think 25 years ago, what I was getting was, you know, “Kids, get off that couch!” and sitcoms and really light stuff where [you were] the girlfriend or the victim or the killer. Nothing well-rounded. And this comes along and I was thinking, ‘Wait a minute this is a man’s role. They made a mistake.’ And when I found out it wasn’t a mistake I was so excited I remember, I had a dark green shift dress … and I went out and got a pair of Doc Martens, and the Doc Martens kind of informed me, where I was and who I was. I listened to a lot of rap back then, I still listen to rap, but I really pounded it in my car on the way to my audition, and that was my prep for it and I walked in and I was fully Kira when I walked in the room."

The series has so far been consistent in presenting a merging of souls as something that can't be undone. The part of Gideon that Harrow took, I don't know if she can give it back. I don't know if Gideon would even want her to.
Maybe I'm a romantic, but the ideal ending to me, the most satisfying conclusion, would be Harrow balancing the scale by giving a piece of her own living soul to become a part of Gideon. Not Gideon's heart returned, but Harrow's heart in return. We've seen lyctorhood as a one-sided consumption, and we've seen it as a mutual consummation. We've still never seen it tried as a reciprocal exchange.

David knows who Dustin is as soon as he walks into the gym for Career Day. Mainly because there’s a picture on Steve’s desk of him but also because the two of them are bickering with each other. Real sibling behavior.
When he gets closer, he hears that they’re bickering about batteries. Apparently it’s always the goddamn batteries.
David is noticed almost immediately and gives a little wave before asking if there’s anything he can help with. Steve pulls him in and then snaps his fingers at Dustin specifically because it annoys him, “Dustin, this my friend, David. Be nice to him and he might find a place for your lizard -“
“It’s an iguana.”
“-while I figure out what the hell is going on over there…. Mrs Bennett, can I help you?”
Dustin goes back to untangling a bunch of wires when Steve leaves so David awkwardly throws out, “I could tell you guys were brothers. You look alike.”
“We look alike?” Dustin says slowly, amused. When David just nods, he adds, “Steve’s adopted.”
“I’m not adopted!” Steve calls from three booths down.
“You could’ve been!”
“I still think you look alike,” David says, deciding to double down on that thought even if it’s not true. They look passable related, maybe. “So, uh. Pretty cool that Eddie came to help you set up. I know he’s - Steve’s mentioned that he’s busy with his….”
David hesitates just enough to acknowledge he doesn’t know what Eddie does only that it sometimes involves a red carpet, “….his movies.”
“Movies?” Dustin says in a tone that clearly says David guessed wrong. He turns around in Steve’s direction and asks loudly, “This guy is supposed to be you friend??”
David thinks to himself, Eddie must work in tv then.
