One thing I've just been thinking about is that I've heard some autistic people say that their sensory issues with food like fruits is that they aren't reliable- each fruit can have a different texture or taste even if eaten from the same batch. So I've been wondering... would replicators eradicate that problem? Or would they try to replicate food to taste the same as it would normally?

weirdly specific complaint, but...

I sort of hate that a lot of scifi futures have driving controls that are like... floating screens that you have to physically look at all the didly darn time and disappear when the power goes out.

Its part of why I love Han solo's ship. it has so many buttons!!! and you can ffeeellll the punch of a flight.

but in the castle of lions/atlas in voltron, or the screens of most of startreck next gen?? ewwww

Ideas of what the different Inside Job characters’ minds would look like.

I love the concept that the mind is a physical place so let’s psychoanalyze the gang!

Brett-

An endless empty house that vaguely looks like the house from “Growing Years”. Some rooms are bright and cheery but the deeper you go into it it gets dark and uncanny, rooms are stretched and seemingly impossible to wrap your mind around (pun intended). Think backrooms type images, something is familiar and reminds you of happier times but they are covered with a haze of nostalgia and heartache. Memories are accessible by posters of 80’s and 90’s media hung up on the walls.

Andre-

A rave, memories are accessed by drinking bottles of alcohol with snapshots of the memories on the labels. It is an empty concert venue with flashing neon lights. Literally everything is neon and paint and graffiti is splattered on everything. It’s messy, loud, and smells like booze and weed. There is also a room in the attic hidden away that has a table covered in rpg game papers and mini’s with startreck posters on the walls.

Glenn-

Its pretty obvious that his would be a military base. More specifically the military base he trained at before he entered the army. He can access memories by the mirrors, glass, and windows that are strewn about the base. Broken mirrors hold the darkest ones.

Gigi-

Is it cliche to say that it takes the form of a drama blog/website? Light background and bold black font. Each post is a different memory and her insecurities and intrusive thoughts show up as pop-up adds. Clicking on links gets you to different rooms and the deeper you go the more repressed the “posts” get.

Myc-

I have a feeling that his mind would be a bathhouse mixed with the cave he grew up in. It is a vast cave covered in lights, there are lots of pools of water scattered around that lead to his memories if you jump in. There are also bits and pieces of more modern things like high-school lockers and fragments of other people’s minds that he reads in parts of the cave that are basically junk-yards of hoarded thoughts. There are also probably hot springs for him to think sexual thoughts in and a massive amount of booze and cigarettes in the colder parts of the cave.

These are just me thinking out loud so if you disagree or want to add something feel free to! I think this is really fun to think about
