Shax and Crowley Meeting (First Two Scenes)
Thoughts on 1.03: Crowley and Shax meet in the park AND 1.07: Crowley and Shax talk in the Bentley
I love “The clarinet makes beautiful music” shenanigans, and how done with it Crowley is from the very beginning.
I don’t really have anything new to add to this, but yes! Crowley randomly talking about ducks, forgetting he brought them up, and then circling back to the topic is always such a beautiful thing to witness!
I also appreciate that Crowley has officially clarified that ducks should be fed frozen peas rather than bread. However, I do think that it’s very interesting that Crowley says that the “love them and good for them" line to another demon. There’s something very optimistic about him agreeing with another demon that humans will always come up with worse things than they can, then explicitly expressing interest in both the health and happiness of ducks. It has an almost “Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?” sort of vibe.
Lastly, yes, Crowley! Dismiss Aziraphale as an unimportant player or try to convince Shax that he's a being who is no longer even in the game(s) between Heaven and Hell! Crowley is just so consistently protective throughout this season, and I adore it! (I also love the irony that, to Crowley, Aziraphale is the only important player / being, in or out of the game.)
And for Shax and Crowley talking by the Bentley, I don’t have anything else to say beyond the fact that I love how Crowley is teaching Shax sarcasm! However, having rewatched it, I’m sort of curious whether Shax is playing up their ignorance at all? Years before “present day,” they already seem quite savvy, and they definitely carry themself differently when talking with other beings. (Like, is there any chance this is part of a stratagem to get Crowley to be friendlier / more helpful by resembling Aziraphale? Probably not, but I think the idea is fun!)
I also think that it’s interesting that for now, Shax is still very clearly “playing nice.” She doesn’t attempt to touch or enter the Bentley at all (though Crowley leans against it.) An interesting contrast to how she enters it both when Aziraphale is driving and later when Crowley is sitting in it.

Dropped into St James' Park and it feels very weird being here after writing my last couple of chapters. Crawley and Angel had a good time though.

favorite niche GOmens fanfic trope is just. Hozier. like as a character in the fic. he just listens to crowley ramble drunkenly and it goes smth like this
Crowley, at some Irish Bar, Drunkenly Slurring: And like, I ssslitherrrred alllllllll’th way from Ed’n jus’to what? Jus’to sit outside his door?
One Andrew Hozier Byrne, who unknowingly sat next to a drunk demon absolutely YEARNING for an angel, wildly scrawling into a notebook: Mhm…that’s rather sad, keep going?
(an even better addition to this is that one day crowley hears From Eden or any other song that is inevitably about crowleys love for aziraphale on the radio or smth (bonus bonus points ifs she’s still in touch w him) and goes “I TOLD HIM THAT IN CONFIDENCE-“)

Are there any nice and accurate Sherlock/Good Omens crossovers? There must be! Crowley and Aziraphale are very likely to frequent the same places in London as Sherlock and John. Crowley’s Bentley was parked right beside the Diogenes Club once, so he might be acquainted with Mycroft Holmes. As for Aziraphale, I bet he dines at Angelo’s now and then—and doesn’t mind the candles because it’s more romantic indeed :)
