"It was a heat of the moment..."

With first notes of the song Gabriel who chilled on the backseat of the Impala immediately went tense, eyes wide. Sam hurried to change the radio station, fighting unwanted flashbacks but there was a distinct flap of wings and Gabriel was gone.

It's not like they never acknowledged their past. They did, actually, and Gabriel apologized for what he has done, not once. But they never had a direct confrontation like this, like a slap in the face.

Dean surprisingly did not comment, was going to say something but changed his mind under Sam's heavy stare.

When they were back in the bunker Sam half expected Gabriel to not show up for at least a few days, but when he entered his bedroom - their shared bedroom - he saw a dark silhouette of the hunched over archangel on the bed. Sam didn't even say anything, didn't have time before Gabriel turned around abruptly. The archangel's eyes were red and puffy. Sam's heart shattered. He almost could read the archangel's thoughts, they were written on his face. Sam knew this look, has seen it a few times, and he knew. Despite being together for a few years already, despite all the words of love shared between them, Gabriel still thought he didn't deserve it. Not after all the wrongs he has done.

So I’ve been seeing a lot of @winchester-reload #suptober22 entries and it inspired me to try and do this, especially when I saw Day 2 Pillow Talk. So I hope you enjoy Sabriel pillow talk which I figured goes like this. Sam: Gabe? Babe...?

Gabriel: Samshine, if you have woken me up before sunrise just to tell me you are going running again, I swear I’m gonna turn all your salads into cotton candy everyday this week. Sam: *chuckles* No, you won’t, but I’ll be back with breakfast, I love you. *kisses Gabe’s cheek then rolls outta bed* Gabe: My favorite? *peeks one golden eye open at Sam before he can leave the room*

Sam: Of course.

Gabe: ...You are forgiven, ... and I luv ya too. *cuddles deeper into the blankets and is instantly back asleep*

Writing the Sam/Gabriel fic ('Be Not Afraid, Behold') and I have crawled back to tumblr to report that it's really entertaining me how Sam just, like, moves Gabriel around, obliviously: pulls him to his feet, pushes him gently around, reels him in with one arm to hold tight.

I have hitched a tectonic plate to a tugboat.

So an hour ago I found this old SPN fanfic, my main ship used to be Sabriel (Sam x Gabriel) and this particular fic is a teacher!AU - which I seemingly abandoned unfinished and without further notes.

The two of them meeting at an open-air disco/ town festival and flirting hard for the night only to ditch one another. They then meet when Sam has his first day at the school he started his student teacher position. Principal Mills promptly assigning the student teacher to the pupils’ favourite religion teacher, Mr. Novak.

These days I wouldn’t write a daughter into such an AU and probably go differently about some things but I’d be open to pick the idea back up.

I would probably keep the backstory that both Gabriel and Sam suffered domestic violence/ abuse (Sam obviously at the hands of Ruby; I don’t know who I intended as Gabriel’s abuser for that AU).

And I like the detail that Gabriel wears colored contact lenses when out partying and while working at the school, so Sam only later learns he actually doesn’t have blue eyes.

Should I go ahead and rewrite/ translate it and put it on AO3?

When Sam is furious and tries to supress it as always, Gabriel wants to help him.

"Lash out on me, love," he says softly, and says something along the lines of perks of dating an archangel.

Sam Winchester is an explosion trapped in an impressive strong male body, and Gabriel can take him in all ways possible. Yet Sam hesitates, tries to supress it, because even a mere thought about hurting his beloved makes him sick.

Gabriel doesn't provoke him further as one could expect. He is surprisingly gentle. Sam loves this side of him, which has been hidden for a long time. He doesn't feel weak when eventually his anger becomes tears and he cries his heart out while curling against Gabriel, and Gabriel strokes his back and plays with his hair until Sam gets better.

So sorry, last post of the night but like She Had the World (alternate ver) is such a “right person, wrong time” Sabriel song.

(Before I say anything I was not a P!ATD non-biney but I was a Ryan Ross lover so I know the meaning of the song, I just am interpreting it differently)

Just imagine, Gabriel (Br*ndan’s part) professing that Sam won the entire world over with a smile and a laugh. And even though Sam COULD have it all, Gabriel is an uncatchable force.

So they’re trapped among the stars together, like constellations— Sam seeking and Gabriel (ever knowing) running. To always be looked at, theorized over, studied, etc. But to never live, either together or apart.

And then Sam comes in. (Ryan’s part) Admitting that he doesn’t love him, he never had the chance to so how could he? But he did throw out a line to see if he could get him, he did try, he did…

Gabriel of course starts to rationalize and comes to the conclusion that he knows what they could be but it’s terrifying. He then goes on to talk about their encounters and saying he didn’t ruin him, did he? Just spiced him up! That’s all.. just added some excitement, right? Besides, when he looks into Sammy’s eyes he can see their situation and it could just never work, it’s a paradox, a constant motion— can’t be broken. So Gabe deems that he knows best yet again and they continue to run and catch all around the universe, Canis Major and Minor, what a damn pair.

And even though it seems like the end, Sam repeats himself. Like a bird expecting to hear a call back, always reaching out— trying to get the response he needs but it never comes. Sam is still trying to catch Gabe and he doesn’t even know why.
