You know what I want?
Domestic Stucky. In Westview. Hear me out.
(First of all, Endg*me can go fuck itself. Steve’s whole thing? Never happened. Forget about it. Wipe if from your mind. We’re rewriting that shit.)
(Also, this isn’t a fic even though I know it starts out looking like one lol. This is just stream of consciousness thoughts. I would put way more effort into actual writing)
The weeks after the final snap were hard.
Bucky was back, and it felt like every weight that had been dragging Steve down for the past 5 years was lifted. He was mentally and physically exhausted, but his soulmate, his best friend, was at his side again, pulling him into a warm hug, tight and breathtaking.
It was still hard; Steve was a very different man than he had been 5 years ago, but Bucky was calm and understanding. There was still much to mourn for, too. Tony and Nat were gone. Any sense of stability that had been established during those 5 years was immediately destroyed, and Steve was sure it would take many more years to try to fix the damage.
And Wanda. When Wanda was snapped back into existence, her grief was palpable. What had been 5 terrible years for him had been 5 minutes of bliss for her, relief that she wouldn’t have to try to live in a world without Vision. Steve knew the feeling. Even though he didn’t quite understand Wanda and Vision’s relationship (he was a robot?), he can’t really judge because he’s been pining after his childhood best friend for the better part of a century and still hasn’t managed to do anything about it.
To be brought back to life was the worst trick you could play on Wanda. Her sense of peace was snatched away from her and she was throttled back into a world that had nothing in it for her. Everyone she loved was dead. Her powers still deemed her a threat, even if she had played a crucial role in the fight against Thanos.
Steve wanted to be selfish and just run away with Bucky, but he couldn’t leave Wanda, who had become the little sister he never had.
He worried about her. Even as those who had been snapped away started to come to terms with the fact that 5 years had passed, Wanda wandered around, just a shell of her former self. Sometimes she fell into fits of rage and despair, using her powers to smash everything in her room at the compound or snapping at anyone who tried to distract her. Most of the time she was just blank.
Just a month after the return from the blip, Wanda strolls into the kitchen and announces that she’s going to S.W.O.R.D. headquarters. Steve’s head snaps up. Her eyes are hard and determined, and Steve belatedly realizes that every muscle in her body is tense as she readies herself to fight anyone who tries to stop her. Sam is the first to speak up.
“Okay, kid,” he breathes out nonchalantly, “you need anyone to go with you?” Sam is good like that. Always knowing what to say to make someone feel comfortable and cared about, but not coddled.
“No,” Wanda grits out. A breath, and then, softer, “thank you.”
Glancing around to see if anyone else had any objections, Wanda walks out of the compound.
Steve lets out a breath he hadn’t realized he was still holding, but the room is still tense. He whips around to Bucky, eyes wide with concern.
Before he can even say anything, Bucky reaches out and puts a hand on his shoulder, “Don’t worry. Come on, we’ll watch out for her.”
So, with a tight smile, Steve stands up and lets Bucky lead the two of them out.
It’s not until they are halfway down the street in an inconspicuous car, trailing a little ways behind Wanda’s red sedan that it occurs to Steve to ask what they’re doing.
“We’re just going to follow her to make sure she’s alright, pal. S.W.O.R.D. has Vision’s body, and it’s not a good idea for her to be alone, even if she thinks it’s best.”
“She’ll be mad if she realizes what we’re doing.”
“Good thing one of us is a reformed Russian spy,” he smirks.
Steve’s heart skips a beat at that familiar face, one that he hadn’t thought he’d ever see again, and blushes, ducking his head. If Bucky notices, he doesn’t say. They carry on in a comfortable silence.
As they pull into the S.W.O.R.D. parking lot, Steve watches Wanda march into the headquarters. He turns to Bucky, "Are we going to follow her in?"
"You can't, that's for sure." Steve scowls. "It's not entirely your fault, pal, but you're don't exactly blend in easily. But I'll go in to keep an eye on her if you want me to."
Steve considers the offer for the moment. As much as he wanted to watch out for Wanda, he knew that if she found out, it would hurt her more. She would think that he didn't trust her, and that he was following her to make sure that she didn't lose control of her powers and hurt people. He didn't want to make her feel more ostracized than she already was.
"No, we'll just wait," he says, shaking his head. His eyes never leave the entrance to S.W.O.R.D. headquarters.
The wait for Wanda feels excruciatingly long. Steve doesn't trust that S.W.O.R.D. is any better than S.H.I.E.L.D., and he honestly has no idea what they've been doing with Vision's body for the last 5 years. A renewed sense of guilt washes over him.  If he had tried to fight S.W.O.R.D. harder for Vision's body, Wanda wouldn't be here, fighting through her grief to see him one last time. After the snap, Steve didn't feel like he could waste his dwindling energy scrutinizing S.W.O.R.D's every move, but he now wishes he had. He could have spared her this pain.
Sensing the anxiety bubbling up within him, Bucky reaches out, pulling Steve's hand into his own. "It's not your fault, Steve," he reminds him gently. Steve squeezes his hand in response.
Wanda walks out of S.W.O.R.D. headquarters 20 minutes later. She seems drained and tired, but her expression reveals nothing. They wait again before following her out of the lot.
When she turns right, away from the direction of the compound where he assumed she would return, Steve frowns. "Where is she going? The compound's the other way."
Bucky shrugs. "I guess we'll see."
Steve has no idea where they are until he sees a sign declaring "Welcome to New Jersey!" not far down the highway.
"What the hell is she going to Jersey for?" Bucky gasps, pulling a loud laugh from Steve's chest. It's absurd and ridiculous, but it reminds Steve of when they were kids in Brooklyn, shitting on the Yankees and the state's annoying accent, among the plethora of other abhorrent traits about New Jersey. Bucky starts laughing with him, shaking his head.
They finally arrive in a small, run-down town called Westview. Steve can't imagine why Wanda would come here.
Her red sedan comes to a stop in front of an empty plot of land, and she steps out, clutching a folded piece of paper to her chest.
"Oh, Christ... Shit," Bucky mutters. Steve is about to ask what he's thinking when he finally sees Wanda's walls crumble.
Her shoulders shake with the force of her sobs, and she falls to her knees with a cry of desperation. A red orb of her twists around her body and Steve shoves the door to the car open, desperate to get to Wanda.
"Steve!" he hears Bucky cry out behind him, and it's the last thing he hears before Wanda's powers implode around her, and his vision is blotted with red.
Remember! Wanda made all of her characters in the hex as similar to their actual lives as possible to ease her control of them! SO, it's only natural that her powers would pick up on the fact that Steve and Bucky are very obviously pining for each other and put them in a loving relationship while they are in the hex. Since they are both under Wanda's control, their storyline would happen mostly independently from what we see in WandaVision. I wouldn't have there be any smut (since I'm not talented enough or comfortable writing it myself) so there wouldn't be any non-con or any serious dub-con while they are in the hex. The idea is that both of them want everything that they are made to do (be partners, hold hands, kiss, do other couple-y stuff), but they are concerned because they think the other would feel disgusted and not want it.
There unfortunately were not any gay characters on TV in the 50s and 60s, so I would write these two "episodes" with loose ties to other sitcoms from those decades and do some research into how gay couples lived during these time periods. Basically, reimagine my own 50s and 60s sitcoms with realistic portrayals of a gay couple.
For the other decades, I would then base their relationship off of those actually depicted in sitcoms from that time.
It should be noted that, while I have actually watch a lot of old sitcoms, I haven't watched many of the ones I mention. If I every decide to write this, I would do a lot more research on these shows (and watch some episodes!)
70's - I would likely draw from Barney Miller, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, and Soap.
80's - Roseanne is pretty iconic, but I would be a little hesitant to write it after all of the controversy a couple years ago. Love, Sidney may also work, but I don't know enough about the show.
90's - Will & Grace, of course! I don't know anything about Northern Exposure, but the little bit of research I've done suggests that also may be a source of inspiration.
2000 through early 2010s - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Modern Family. (I loved The War At Home, but it doesn't really fit)
When Wanda releases everyone from the hex, Bucky and Steve had some serious miscommunication issues and angst. Both feeling exceedingly guilty about their actions, despite the fact that they had no control over them. They got a taste for what domestic life would be like together, and they are frustrated that they enjoyed it since they believe the other one did not. When Wanda explains that her powers gave everyone jobs, relationships and roles in society that were equally comparable to those they had in real life, Bucky and Steve both realize that the hex would not have put them in a relationship if it wasn't what the other also wanted. Yay! They make-up (and make-out, lol).
I seriously want to write this, but I really don't have the confidence that I will be able to execute it as I imagine it. If someone wants to work on it with me (be it we both write it or you just want to offer some brainstorming help/story guidance), I would be thrilled! Just so long as there isn't any pressure to get it done in a time crunch. I just want this writing experience to be fun! Also, if you are interested, I swear I’m a better writer than what was just exhibited, but I really only spent an hour or so on it, so it’s obviously not my best work.
Anyway, if you have any thoughts, suggestions, advice etc or just want to scream about WandaVision and/or Stucky, please feel free to PM me or stop by my inbox. It would make my day :)

roseanne park, 23, cis female, she/her, muse n  —  can you believe JESSICA JANG is apart of the stellar world tour? the industry has dubbed her THE TEMPEST and she has quite the reputation. sources say she is +DETERMINED and +GREGARIOUS, but can also be -DECEPTIVE and -RETICENT. however, she is best described by the song LIABILITY by LORDE. i can’t to see what the stellar world tour has in store for her.
click here to see jessica’s pinterest board !
basically, jessica jang...
is a fake ass bitch!!!!!
lowkey has a drinking problem, highkey a wine mom. emotional!drunk
genuinely sees you as a friend if she’s rude to you
elbows 12 year olds to get to the front row in concerts
is not really a music person, but she likes a challenge, so that’s why she’s handling stellar’s clients
is always fucking smiling even when she’s saying the vilest thing ever
was kinda the mean girl in high school.....yeah...
wipes away her tears from being disowned by her parents with chanel
was inspired by michaela pratt,  quinn fabray, gina linetti, elle woods, fallon carrington
at stellar, jessica...
is known as the tempest because of how callous and provocative she can be, and because she always knows the right thing to say or do to bring out the worst in people
is always observing in the background, because it’s the best way to know how people really are alone
honestly gets her inspo for PR stunts from shows like scandal, how to get away with murder (ya girl is a shondaland hoe)
stirs shit up on purpose so she knows what breaks people so outbursts in public could be avoided
will get close to people on purpose so she could find out about their dirty little secrets
acts nice to people she hasn’t gotten to know yet
likes to be in complete control of whatever she’s been put in charge of.  she takes her job very seriously so she prefers it if external forces could be suppressed
initiates mock media interviews with the artists to make sure they can handle themselves during the actual thing
background
coming from a family of lawyers based in australia, she was groomed at a young age to follow in their footsteps and become a force to be reckoned with in the courtroom. she was a model student and daughter, and strived to do her best at everything that she did.
at a certain point, it became too tiring for her, so one couldn’t really blame her if she wanted to let loose once in awhile. on her first year of law school, she had one too many bottles of alcohol and accidentally caused a fire, setting the library ablaze. of course, she was expelled, but more than that, she was disowned by her family as well.
a professor who recognized her ability didn’t believe she was a lost cause, and referred her to work at a PR firm. with no life path to follow, jess took a chance. working at a PR firm was almost like taking on a case -- all she had to do was make sure the client came out on top. and boy, was she damn good at it. after taking on small clients at the PR firm, she was eventually given a bigger responsibility by taking over stellar’s clients.
personality
jess had always been determined. but after getting expelled from law school and being disowned, this only amplified her drive to come back stronger, and become successful even without her family’s help. she loves being around people, and is slowly becoming popular in the industry. but of course, she has ulterior motives for being so sociable -- it’s so she could get close to people.  lying had always come naturally to her. it was a blessing in the world of PR because she could easily bend the truth to favor her clients.  it was dangerous to get close to people, platonically and romantically. opening up way too much could cause problems and come in the way of her goals.
wanted connections
the client she enjoys working with the most
someone who has the same shady energy as her
an unlikely friend (they’re opposites but they vibe together)
the client she hates / clashes with a lot
someone she enjoys getting drunk with
someone who always antagonizes her
a person who is a mystery she is dying to figure out
someone who she enjoys trading gossip with
a client who she considers a passion project
always up for brainstorming!

How many times per year does a gun go off in an American school?
We should know. But we don't.
This spring the U.S. Education Department reported that in the 2015-2016 school year, "nearly 240 schools ... reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting." The number is far higher than most other estimates.
But NPR reached out to every one of those schools repeatedly over the course of three months and found that more than two-thirds of these reported incidents never happened. Child Trends, a nonpartisan nonprofit research organization, assisted NPR in analyzing data from the government's Civil Rights Data Collection.
We were able to confirm just 11 reported incidents, either directly with schools or through media reports.
In 161 cases, schools or districts attested that no incident took place or couldn't confirm one. In at least four cases, we found, something did happen, but it didn't meet the government's parameters for a shooting. About a quarter of schools didn't respond to our inquiries.
"When we're talking about such an important and rare event, [this] amount of data error could be very meaningful," says Deborah Temkin, a researcher and program director at Child Trends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Education Department, asked for comment on our reporting, noted that it relies on school districts to provide accurate information in the survey responses and says it will update some of these data later this fall. But, officials added, the department has no plans to republish the existing publication.
This confusion comes at a time when the need for clear data on school violence has never been more pressing. Students around the country are heading back to school this month under a cloud of fear stemming from the most recent mass shootings in Parkland, Fla., and Santa Fe, Texas.
At least 53 new school safety laws were passed in states in 2018. Districts are spending millions of dollars to "harden" schools with new security measures and equipment. A blue-ribbon federal school safety commission led by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is holding public events around the country, including one in Alabama Tuesday. Children are spending class time on active-shooter drills and their parents are buying bulletproof backpacks.
Our reporting highlights just how difficult it can be to track school-related shootings and how researchers, educators and policymakers are hindered by a lack of data on gun violence.
"I think someone pushed the wrong button"
The Civil Rights Data Collection for 2018 required every public school — more than 96,000 — to answer questions on a wide range of issues.
It asked what sounded like a simple question:
In the 2015-2016 school year, "Has there been at least one incident at your school that involved a shooting (regardless of whether anyone was hurt)?"
The answer — "nearly 240 schools (0.2 percent of all schools)" — was published this spring.
The government's definition included any discharge of a weapon at school-sponsored events or on school buses. Even so, that would be a rate of shootings, and a level of violence, much higher than anyone else had ever found.
For comparison, the Everytown for Gun Safety database, citing media reports, listed just 29 shootings at K-12 schools between mid-August 2015 and June 2016. There is little overlap between this list and the government's, with only seven schools appearing on both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A separate investigation by the ACLU of Southern California also was able to confirm fewer than a dozen of the incidents in the government's report, while 59 percent were confirmed errors.
The Civil Rights Data Collection dates to 1968. The Education Department's Office for Civil Rights administers the survey every two years. Every public school is required by law to complete it. These findings often drive public conversations.
For example, the CRDC was the source of recent reports that black students were suspended from school at rates much higher than whites — information that inspired changes in discipline policy across the country.
The survey has dozens of items, ranging from how many middle schoolers passed algebra I to how many students with disabilities were restrained or secluded. It can be completed by filling out an online form or uploading data.
One item, about "Firearm Use," was required for the first time for all schools in the most recent data collection.
Most of the school leaders NPR reached had little idea of how shootings got recorded for their schools.
For example, the CRDC reports 26 shootings within the Ventura Unified School District in Southern California.
"I think someone pushed the wrong button," said Jeff Davis, an assistant superintendent there. The outgoing superintendent, Joe Richards, "has been here for almost 30 years and he doesn't remember any shooting," Davis added. "We are in this weird vortex of what's on this screen and what reality is."
"We got wind of it and nipped it in the bud"
In other cases, something may have happened, but not the firearm discharge the survey asked about.
The biggest discrepancy in sheer numbers was the 37 incidents listed in the CRDC for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Roseann Canfora, the district's chief communications officer, told us that, in fact, 37 schools reported "possession of a knife or a firearm," which is the previous question on the form.
The number 37, then, was apparently entered on the wrong line.
Similarly, the CRDC lists four shootings among the 16 schools of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District in California. Gail Pinsker, spokeswoman for the district, says that "going back 20-plus years," no one can remember any incident involving a firearm. Their best guess, she says, is that there was some kind of mistake in coding, where an incident involving something like a pair of scissors (California Education Code 48915[c][2]), for example, got inflated into one involving a firearm (48915[c][1]).
Ray Poole, the chief of legal services for the Nassau County School District in Florida, told us that at one school where a shooting was reported, Callahan Middle School, on Nov. 21, 2015, a Saturday, a student took a picture of himself at home holding a gun and posted it to social media. "We got wind of it and nipped it in the bud." No shooting.
The CRDC shows seven shootings in DeKalb County, Ga. Police reports provided to us by that district give a sense of more of the many, many ways the data collection may have gone wrong.
At Redan Middle School, there is a report of a toy cap gun fired on a school bus — not a shooting.
The CRDC shows a shooting at Stone Mountain Middle School, but a police report shows an incident at Stone Mountain High School instead.
And district officials provided a police report showing that there was a shooting after a McNair High School football game — in August 2016, after the time period covered in the survey.
Unacceptable burden
The Education Department's Office for Civil Rights received complaints about the wording and administration of this survey even before it went out.
A June 2014 research reportcommissioned to improve the CRDC as a whole noted that in previous data collections, districts had experienced "unacceptable levels of reporting burden." They complained that the CRDC asks them to report information that is similar to what states already collect, but in a different format, or at a level of specificity that they don't currently track.
Also at issue, the internal report says, was a "lack of clarity in the definitions of key terms." When it came to "Offenses," the group of questions including firearm use, districts "indicated dissatisfaction with the categories provided, specifically that the CRDC categories did not align with the categories used in state reporting, other federal reporting, and/or their own district databases."
As an example of this lack of alignment, the federal Gun-Free Schools Act requires schools in states that receive federal funds to expel students who bring a gun to school and requires districts in those states to report the circumstances of such expulsions to the state — regardless of whether a gun goes off.
The state of Florida asks schools to report "weapons possession," excluding pocketknives. California asks schools to report suspensions and expulsions resulting from "possession, sale, furnishing of a firearm" or "imitation firearm."
And so on.
There's also potential for confusion within the CRDC itself. While this particular item refers clearly to "a shooting," the previous item asks about a long list of incidents, some involving "a firearm or explosive device" and others involving "a weapon."
Temkin at Child Trends, who has long studied bullying and school climate, says this wording "could cause confusion."
"Best practices in data collection are not to include double-barreled items," she says, such as asking about a "firearm or explosive device" in the same question. An explosive device could be something like a pipe bomb or even a firecracker.
NPR submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to learn more about problems with the data collection, and we received emails that schools and districts sent as they grappled with this kind of confusion. For example, the Omro school district in Wisconsin wanted to know whether a consensual paintball-gun fight involving several students should be considered an "attack with a weapon" or a "possession of a firearm."
Another reason the shooting data may show these kinds of problems, Temkin adds, is that the item is so new. "Because this was the first year this was asked of all schools, they may not have been as prepared to respond to this item."
And there's another factor at work as well: the law of really, really big numbers. Temkin notes that "240 schools is less than half of 1 percent," of the schools in the survey. "It's in the margin of error."
Liz Hill, an Education Department spokeswoman, told NPR that "at least five districts have submitted requests to OCR to amend the school-related shootings data that they submitted for the 2015-16 CRDC." The plan is to issue what is called "errata" to update the data, but the original document will not be republished, Hill said.
Hill made the point that any "misreporting" is the schools' responsibility, not the department's: "As always, data reported by recipients is self-reported and self-certified."
After we contacted the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified district about the four reported shootings, the district emailed the Office for Civil Rights to try to correct the information. No shootings happened, officials said.
The Office for Civil Rights responded on July 25:
"The CRDC accepts correction requests for up to one year from the moment the submission period opens. For the 2015-16 collection, the corrections period closed on June 30, 2018, and for this reason your data correction request cannot be accepted. However, a data note will be included on the data file to ensure users are aware of the errors you are reporting."

But Jewishmagpie had said that she was wary of Breitbart? So what do you think that she got wrong? And I did only used bits and piece of Jewishmagpie's response. The full response. "I was a bit sceptical considering the original screenshot looks like it was from Breitbart, where it states: (Part 1)
The production, directed by former Roseanne writer Stan Zimmerman and scheduled to run throughout September, “was inspired by the true story of a Jewish woman in Los Angeles who created a ‘Safe House’ for a Latina mother and her two daughters after her husband was deported by ICE.”   (Part two)
"Naturally, my first thought was, “If the play is actually described as the retelling of a true story where a Jewish woman actually did make a safehouse for a Latina mother and her children, maybe it’s the Right-wing media that are being antisemitic and automatically jumping to Anne Frank for no reason?”  "This is why it’s important to double-check these things, so I know whether to actually be outraged or not. So, I decided to go straight to an official Broadway source to check, and. Well." 3
"The Diary of Anne Frank is being produced by Pop-Up Playhouse in conjunction with Anne Kathryn Parma. Zimmerman’s unique take on the staging was inspired by the true story of a Jewish woman in Los Angeles who created a “Safe House” for a Latina mother and her two daughters after her husband was deported by ICE. Zimmerman states, " [Part 4]
"“This made me think, what would happen if this Jewish woman handed out the play to families that she’s hiding and they all begin to read it aloud?  Couldn’t the story of Anne Frank be extremely important today  since a recent New York Times’ survey found the memory of the Holocaust is fading?”"  "No, OP is entirely right and this downright disrespect of Anne Frank’s memory, as well as the memories of everyone else that suffered in the attic, is absolutely abhorrent."  [Part 5]
The plot is that a Latina family hides from ICE after the father’s deportation, and reads up the play about Anne Frank with no changes. What part of this is antisemitic?

Melania Trump mourns lost lives but doesn't blame the President for Capitol riot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Most recently, my heart goes out to: Air Force Veteran, Ashli (Babbitt), Benjamin (Phillips), Kevin Greeson, (Roseanne) Boyland, and Capitol Police Officers, Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood. I pray for their families comfort and strength during this difficult time,” she said.
“I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me — from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain,” the first lady, whose “Be Best” platform centers on civility and kindness, said in the post.
Trump then condemned the events of last week: “Make no mistake about it, I absolutely condemn the violence that has occurred on our Nation’s Capitol. Violence is never acceptable,” she wrote.
Short of casting any responsibility on the President, the first lady instead euphemistically described what led to the events as “passion and enthusiasm.”
“It is inspiring to see that so many have found a passion and enthusiasm in participating in an election, but we must not allow that passion to turn to violence,” she said.
While images of the mob breaking into the Capitol consumed the airwaves, the first lady was focused — with the White House chief usher, Timothy Harleth — on getting the furniture shoot completed. Both the media, including Appradab, and members of her staff were asking if Trump had plans to tweet a statement of calm, or a call to stop the violence — something she had done a handful of times months earlier during the protests surrounding the police killing of George Floyd. She did not.
Her disinterest in addressing the country was indicative of being “checked out,” said another White House source, who added, “she just isn’t in a place mentally or emotionally anymore where she wants to get involved.”
Later Wednesday evening, two of the first lady’s top aides, chief of staff Stephanie Grisham — who also served as Trump’s closest adviser, speechwriter and spokesperson — and Anna Cristina “Rickie” Niceta, White House social secretary, submitted their resignations effective immediately in the wake of the violence.
With the absence of Grisham, who aided Trump in speechwriting and communications, it was not immediately clear how the statement came together, though there were multiple examples of striking similarities between passages of the post and Trump’s August 2020 speech to the Republican National Committee.
“My husband and I have visited many places that have been affected by natural disasters and we are deeply moved by the strength of the people who have lost everything and the kindness of neighbors and communities. The common thread in all of these challenging situations is the unwavering resolve to help one another,” Trump said from the Rose Garden during the Republican National Convention in August.
On Monday, she wrote: “Our country’s strength and character have revealed themselves in the communities that have been impacted by natural disasters and throughout this terrible pandemic that has affected all of us. The common thread in all of these challenging situations is American’s unwavering resolve to help one another.”
In August: “It has been inspiring to see what the people of our great nation will do for one another, especially when we are at our most fragile.”
And on Monday: “As your First Lady, it has been inspiring to witness firsthand what the people of our great Nation will do for one another, especially when we are at our most vulnerable.”
Those similarities come over four years after Trump was widely criticized for plagiarizing passages from then-first lady Michelle Obama during Trump’s 2016 RNC remarks.
This story has been updated with additional context on the first lady’s statement.

“The Roll Model”: Path-Breaking “Self-Care Healthcare” (book review)
Tumblr media
Countless publications promise to offer some remarkable new collection of devices to help us live healthier, happier, and much more equipped lives. Disappointingly couple of, nevertheless, supply more than a slightly brand-new spin on some stock self-help approach spiced up with a recycled understanding or more. Jill Miller's recently released The Roll Model: A Step-by-Step Overview of Eliminate Discomfort, Enhance Wheelchair, and also Live Much better in Your Body ( Success Belt, 2014), however, proves an amazing exemption to the regulation. This 432-page, thoroughly composed and also magnificently highlighted publication sets out a detailed new system of "self-care healthcare" that's based in scientific research, sharpened by experience, as well as shown by a remarkable track document of success.
True to its title, the "roll version" method essentially contains targeted self-massage performed by "rolling" on a collection of four different, specifically designed treatment spheres. These spheres, which range from 2.5 - 9 inches in diameter, are made of grippy rubber that connects well with the skin, and supply enough "provide" to permit the body to loosen up around them under pressure. The standard theory and also method behind the "roll version" approach is relatively easy: that is, if we learn just how to do our own deep tissue massage therapy, we can open locations of our bodies that have become stuck in useless motion patterns, recover their correct feature, as well as stimulate the body's natural capability for self-healing.
Given the intricacy of the human body-mind complicated, however, converting this basic understanding right into a practical program and also getting it all down on paper is neither a simple neither easy task. The Roll Model, however, not just does it perfectly, however surpasses the "how you can" details of the technique to interact a larger vision. The very first sentence of Jill's Introduction, for instance, emphasizes that the "U.S. has 4.6% of the globe's populace as well as eats 80% of the world's painkilling opiate supply." While some such medications are definitely necessitated, a lot of are utilized to take care of pain brought on by useless body characteristics that might be recovered normally through appropriate self-care. The owning interest of The Roll Model is to offer us the knowledge, tools, and ideas needed to recover ourselves - and, in the procedure, in order to help cure the epidemic of lifestyle-induced illness that negatively impacts so several lives today.
Detailed and Comprehensive
The heart of The Roll Model consists of 18 self-massage sequences that target details locations of the body (reduced back, elbow joint, jaw, and so on), essentially varying from go to toe. Each series is made to take about 10-20 mins, and consists of a series of "rolling" moves discussed through step-by-step instructions and pictures. In presenting each series, guide nicely lists the 1) required props, 2) key muscular tissues and also bony spots involved, as well as 3) standard therapy ball positioning. A preliminary "check in" posture, such as a forward fold, is also provided, which is then duplicated as a "recheck" after the series to examine shifts in the body. Beyond the treatment balls themselves, the only props required are a flooring, wall surface, chair, and also yoga exercise floor covering and also blocks.
Remarkably, nonetheless, this core collection of series, that includes almost 200-pages of material, isn't presented till the 8th (from an overall of 11) phase of guide. Instead of rushing right into the core information of the method, The Roll Model very first systematically constructs the foundation necessary to recognize and also deal with it in a deeply experienced method. In so doing, the publication makes use of a multi-modal layout that consists of clinical information, individual tales, user-friendly suggestions, physiological illustrations, explanations of body auto mechanics, and beautiful photos of real-life "roll/role designs" representing a wide variety of body types.
This variety of approaches is quite handy because it supplies several ways where visitors with various rate of interests and needs can attach with the text. Whether you're amazed or burnt out by anatomy, as an example, you could find a way right into the multidimensional conversation of body dynamics and self-care The Roll Model supplies. Then, you can examine as much or little of that particular component of it as you wish. In any case, having actually been revealed to the product, you could quickly go back and refer to it later. In this feeling, the vast array of info in The Roll Model makes it not just a sensible self-care guide, but also a long-lasting reference on useful activity and also the body.
Specific subjects gone over in information include:
Improving posture: Common postural problems, just how they adversely impact the body, as well as the best ways to construct healthy and balanced alignment.
Differentiating pain: Distinguishing in between intense feeling that belongs to the healing process and pain that signals over-exertion and potential harm.
Functional anatomy: The relevance of fascia as well as proprioception, and ways to browse 36 "bony landmarks" as well as 44 essential muscular tissues in the body.
Therapy ball techniques: Standard steps as well as why they function (continual compression, cross-fibering, contract/relax, etc.)
Importance of breath: Why breath is important to physical and mental health, and how you can enhance stomach and thoracic breathing.
Emotions and bodywork: How as well as why working with the body and also breath can be mentally and also emotionally therapeutic.
Conscious relaxation: How to down-regulate the nerve system and spark the parasympathetic response, and also why this is seriously important.
Complementary training: Combining the "roll version" method with various other techniques to get rid of "harmful activity settings and also body stagnation" and improve overall health and wellness.
Personal Stories
A total amount of 22 "personal success stories” are also peppered throughout guide. Ranging from 1-4 pages, these detailed initial person accounts define processes of treating or substantially enhancing a large range of physical and/or mental problems using the "roll model" method. People profiled include a body builder, solider, and rape survivor, issues resolved include lupus, diabetes mellitus, scleroderma, MS, excessive weight, clinical depression, and persistent pain. Although some stories appear absolutely nothing short of amazing, they nevertheless appear quite believable. With each other, they develop a motivating testimony to exactly what can be accomplished through decision, effort, and also the knowledge and tools had to activate the body's all-natural recovery response.
The Roll Model also functions individual reflections from Jill Miller herself that should be of specific interest to yoga practitioners. Jill discloses that when she was more youthful, her yoga exercise technique functioned as an unintended source of self-harm by supporting routines of disordered eating and "uncontrollable over-stretching." Owned by a devastating feeling of personal inadequacy, she states, yoga exercise came to be "an addiction that was destabilizing almost every joint in my body." Today, having actually broken this pattern and created her very own approaches of therapeutic yoga exercise, activity, and also self-care, Jill cautions that "simply since you can do a present does not suggest that you should.” She additionally warns that it's all-too-common to teach yoga in ways that will certainly harm students by asking to execute recurring series without adequate biomechanical accuracy. Predictably, this creates injury: "When you repeat activities with poor type over and also over once again, your body eventually breaks."
A Must-Have Resource
The Roll Model is an unusual and also excellent work. A lot of centrally, it provides an initial system of all natural self-care that has actually been successfully made use of by individuals varying from elite professional athletes to persistent illness victims. In addition, it presents a wide range of important information on body framework and characteristics that can be made use of both as a day-to-day overview and lasting recommendation job. Finally, The Roll Model shares inspiring tales of self-care, recovery, and also healing, while advocating for the enhancement of public wellness and the systems that support it today.
As such, The Roll Model is truly a must-have book for health and also physical fitness professionals such as yoga instructors, body workers, individual fitness instructors, physical specialists, and also others. It will also, naturally, advantage any person that is completely positive as well as determined to function the "roll version" series independently. That claimed, there are definitely a great deal of people that desperately need the techniques showed in The Roll Model, however are likely to feel overloaded by the level of detail given. Because of this, I really hope Jill Miller will create an abridged "Roll Version, Junior" variation of guide. In the meanwhile, nonetheless, The Roll Model offers an invaluable source for any individual that prepares to expand their self-care repertoire, or functions to sustain others in sustaining ideal health.

Why Anthony Jeselnik’s Netflix Comedy Specials Are So Aggressive
Tumblr media
Anthony Jeselnik takes an aggressive approach with his jokes, including his Netflix comedy specials. The American comedian has two stand-up specials available on Netflix, Thoughts & Prayers (2015) and Fire in the Maternity Ward (2019), both of which may leave many viewers feeling awkward yet intrigued.
During the early 2000s, Jeselnik famously participated in several Comedy Central roasts. His presence alone inspired jokes from his more experienced comedic peers, but he didn’t hold back when properly roasting celebrities like Roseanne Barr, Charlie Sheen, and Donald Trump. Since then, Jeselnik has gained a large mainstream following thanks to his aggressive and uncompromising humor. In September 2019, Comedy Central premiered Good Talk with Anthony Jeselnik.
RELATED: Netflix's Top 10 Standup Comedy Specials, Ranked
Jeselnik has admittedly built his entire career on dark comedy. Like many stand-up comics, though, he doesn’t merely say offensive things just to provoke audiences, but rather to criticize accepted cultural norms, and to inform people about his own concerns and insecurities.
Who Anthony Jeselnik Targets In His Netflix Specials
Tumblr media
Jeselnik mostly targets parents, and uses a contrived stage persona to address their worst fears. In Thoughts & Prayers, Jeselnik begins with a joke about a baby trapped in a hot car, which will automatically offend many men and women. He then delivers a follow-up joke about women who can’t pull off sarcasm. But Jeselnik quickly shifts gears to assess the moment: “If you guys laugh at that joke... whole show goes great." Jeselnik steadily reminds the audience that they paid to be entertained, and that he’s there to provoke. In both Netflix specials, Jeselnik pinpoints the audience’s sensitivity level, and proceeds to joke about sex offenders, serial killers, dead animals, cancer, and threats to babies.
In addition, Jeselnik targets the “Joke Police.” At first glance, the comedian appears to embody overly-confident male personality traits and uses that preconception for his arrogant stage persona. Netflix's Thoughts & Prayers includes a lengthy commentary about accepted social media etiquette, in which Jeselnik discusses how people typically offer disingenuous or painfully predictable comments after tragedies, as referenced by the special's title. Jeselnik targets people who believe that comics should simply tell light-hearted jokes rather than inserting themselves into controversial discussions about society. Jeselnik reminds viewers that “I don’t tell dark jokes because I’m a comedian. I’m a comedian because I tell dark jokes.”
Jeselnik uses delayed punchlines to target people who laugh or react too quickly. For example, he’ll guide the audience along like a traditional comic, but then conclude in a dark, dark place. In Fire in the Maternity Ward, he states “If you didn’t get either joke, how did you figure out Netflix?” Whereas Jeselnik’s Thoughts & Prayers is mostly explanatory - a give and take commentary about what’s acceptable to joke about - Fire in the Maternity Ward shows Jeselnik embracing the storytelling aspect of his profession, all the while keeping the audience off-kilter about his stage persona and motivations. Per Jeselnik, “I’m not trying that joke out, I am showing off.”
Tumblr media
Jeselnik makes a telling statement midway through Thoughts & Prayers: “I’m not good with kids. That’s my point. That’s what this whole thing’s about.” Both Netflix specials include several jokes about hurting children, which is shocking on the surface but seems to be Jeselnik’s way of acknowledging his fears about failure. Jeselnik often discusses his childhood and incorporates various members into dark jokes to paint a warped familial portrait that connects to his self-image, which he cleverly masks with a heightened sense of self. In Thoughts & Prayers, Jeselnik pulls back the curtain during the final 20 minutes for a personal commentary about family, responsibility, and tragedy. Unsurprisingly, the bit ends with a dark wink-of-the-eye one-liner. He also states, “I like to test myself by joking about horrible things and nothing but.”
In each Netflix special, Jeselnik pushes and provokes the audience to think beyond what they know to be true. He wears the Black Hat, and embraces the villain role to deconstruct questionable human behavior. During Fire in the Maternity Ward, Jeselnik says “I think that stand up comedy doesn’t always have to be funny… sometimes, it’s about pointing out wrongs in the world, even though it might not be popular.” He compares and contrasts tragedies to seemingly imply that everyone’s battling their own personal wars deep down inside. The question remains: how much effort do you want to put into each one? Anthony Jeselnik suggests that sometimes it's healthy just to laugh about fears, failure, and familial concerns - rather than presenting a faux persona to the world. And therein lies the telling irony of the comedian's stage persona.

There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 90+ faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. The Iron Confederacy's a pre-colonial powerful Native American/Canadian political and military confederacy, forming at an unknown time before 1692. While the Confederacy itself dissolved in the 1860s, the tribes that formed it remain as the Plains Cree, Saulteaux, and Nakoda Sioux. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!

Source 2
For source number two I have an article by Roseann Mandziuk titled, “"Grotesque and Ludicrous, but Yet Inspiring": Depictions of Sojourner Truth and Rhetorics of Domination". Mandziuk’s article proved to be as interesting as I had hoped. A title containing words like “grotesque” and “ludicrous” sets pretty high expectations and it didn’t disappoint. Mandziuk explores the depictions of Sojourner Truth as drawn by white audiences. Their referral to her as simple, a fortuneteller, and malformed marks a fear that Truth’s speech may threaten the social order. There are also questions of what exact words would have been uttered by Truth. Would a southern slave dialect indeed be an accurate representation of Sojourner Truth? The article also mentions Frances Gage’s version of Truth’s 1851 , “Ain’t I a Woman?” speech, which was constructed based on a southern slave dialect. Mandziuk condemns the circulation of Gage’s version. It’s also noted in the article that Truth’s body was picked on like the underdeveloped child on the school playground. This tactic effectively turned Truth into a symbol for the carnival side-show act. I have not come to a conclusion about how to tie this with my first source. I am most intrigued by the fact that the most circulated version of Truth’s speech is a horrendously inaccurate one. The other version that is widely known was published by Sojourner’s long-time friend Marius Robinson just days after her delivery of it in Akron. Gage’s version was published twelve YEARS after the speech. Robinson’s version was also went over by Sojourner before its publication. I hope to find more research and discussion about Sojourner’s true dialect.
