I’m not an author by any means, and i haven’t written anything in months so this may read badly or not make much sense but i tried to finish off a fic based on Fenrir and Cliff’s first meeting. I discussed them and built them up with a friend, cliff is a farmer from before the world died, he sounds similar to Big macintosh from Mlp. Fenrir is supposed to have quite a deep voice, a lot of Bass, he also has something similar to a Norwegian accent. Enjoy!

It started with a dull noise in the distance. Cliff was gathering whatever he could get, climbing into this building had caused him to cut his hand, and now he needed to find some kind of bandage in all of this mess. He’d looted all the cupboards, and tried to enter a few rooms but the damp air had made it both uncomfortable to try and stand in there, and dangerous as he was sure he’d seen black mould growing on one of the walls.

The noise was growing louder. Was it an earthquake? Or was one of the nearby office buildings about to give way and collapse? It wouldn’t be the first time, at least this time he wasn’t in it when the supports decided to keel. Cliff moved over to the window to peer out, golden light flooding his eyes as he attempted to see what was going on. It was a beautiful day. Years ago he would have been out in a field sitting within the familiar seat of his old Tractor, or making sure his old Sheepdog got her daily exercise quota met. He could almost smell the field, his old work clothes and the meals he used to cook as he felt the warm rays dance on his skin. His eyes closed as he allowed himself to bask in the memories.

The thumping stopped. Had the building collapsed already? Where was the noise?

Cliff opened his eyes, and the sun was gone. Something was coming towards the window, and he only had a moment to jump backwards as a massive object crashed though the remains of it’s wooden frame, flinging splinters left and right, before hooking and pulling the wall off. Cracking concrete and framework scraped his eardrums as he shielded his face, landing on his ass with a dull thump.

There was a faint crash below and then silence, the world seemed to still and the sun did not return.

“Oh no.” A voice rumbled above, the feeling of bass vibrating in Cliff’s chest as he moved his arm and stared at whatever- whoever- was speaking to him.

His heart stopped and everything went silent. Two sets of eyes glowed with an emotion he couldn’t place, focused on him like emerald lasers, all belonging to the same monster, its teeth peeking out from between lips that were easily wider than he was tall. A mess of thick brown hair that greyed at the roots framed its too-human face as it loomed, blocking out the light and filing Cliff’s vision.

A giant, and the biggest one he’d ever seen. He remembers when they first awoke, and how any survivors avoided the monsters, usually in vain as the beast’s sense of smell seemed to catch everyone off guard. And soon Cliff would likely join them.

It felt like a standoff between a mouse and a cat, both staring each other down and waiting for any movement to spring a chase into action. Cliff wasn’t gonna make the mistake of breaking eye contact, and he was fully prepared to sprint if he had to.

“Fuck…” The air vibrated with the sound once again as the monster’s scarred lips moved.

“You’re human. I don’t see much of you anymore.”

Cliff was stumped. It was trying to talk to him, like it wasn’t planning on killing him like many had done before him. Judging by the scars, this behemoth was not a stranger to a fight, so why was he trying to talk like it was mentioning the weather?

“You’re injured?” It questioned, tilting it’s head like a confused dog, the mane of brown hair tangling over parts of it’s head

Cliff had no idea how to respond. Truthfully, he wasn’t injured, but he didn’t know if the Giant was trying to trick him, or if it was genuine. He opted to stay silent.

Brows furrowed and the beast chewed its bottom lip.

A hand came up and toward him, Digits thicker than the trees gripping onto his leg and pulling him forwards before he could even react. The rest of its massive, Calloused palm soon wrapped around him, constricting his arms like a snake, and he was plunged into darkness, feeling the vibrations of footsteps that covered ground faster than he ever could. He just pictured home, sunny fields surrounded by woodland, and prayed to any god that would hear his plea.

They have unofficial movie nights together. Old 80s stuff they find online. Breakdown doesn’t really get them and Knock Out only pretends to understand them, but they both still like them. In truth, Knock Out loves the aesthetics from the fashion to the cars. Breakdown is a big fan of the overblown action sequences and flashy violence. Both of them think the human interactions are the worst parts of the movies and think they are boring and while they don’t understand all the romantic elements, they both kind of enjoy those moments too. They talk over most of the movie anyways, so all of that is not really a big deal.

Oh! They also love watching nascar and f1 races. Knock Out talks big game about how he’d win those races if he could only enter. All he’d need was a fleshie to sit in the driver’s seat while he does all the work. Breakdown only encourages this notion and they like scheming up ways to get Knock Out in one of the circuits.

I think a lot of the down time on the Nemesis, they are just hanging in each other’s bunks. I’m kind of partial to the idea of Megatron having a No Fraternization policy (not for any other reason other than the Decepticons are dysfunctional enough, he didn’t need anymore social drama than there already is) so Knock Out and Breakdown have separate bunks. It doesn’t matter anyway because Breakdown “sneaks” (it’s not sneaking, everyone knows) down into the medic quarters and sleeps there. Knock Out is a regular visitor of the vehicon barracks where Breakdown has a tiny private officer’s hab/work station. He occasionally uses it for desk time while commander of the vehicons and Knock Out likes to perch himself on Breakdown’s desk while he reads through reports. Breakdown doesn’t mind at all. Work is easy when he can tune into Knock Out Radio and listen to his partner ramble. The vehicons also don’t mind Knock Out there. The doctor is much nicer when he is with their commander and doesn’t snitch of they bring back earth paraphernalia after their missions (as long as they share).

Sometimes, when they are unable to groundbridge and take joyrides, they sneak out onto the flight deck and just look at the stars and talk. They never really say anything of importance, just kind of talking about whatever, but these quite moments mean everything to them. They don’t have to focus on the war or survival or really anything else but each other.

Interesting you talk about the two ways that one can fridge a character, I personally don't always mind the first one, because female characters also have characters they care about die in their backstory for their character development, or male characters can die for other male characters, I think it's only a problem if the work has a pattern of only having female background characters be the ones who die for male ones' motivations, especially if there aren't many female characters in active roles of importance in the story to balance it out. And also how it can become a cliched motivation that is sometimes used in cliched ways in general (like parents dying is overused, whether it's a mother or father and whether the character affected by it is male or female), or a spouse dies and instead of really exploring the complexities of grief and how it affects the character it just becomes one-dimensional brooding or desire for vengeance. So it's overused and in certain works it's a way that female characters in particular are objectified and targeted but it's not inherently bad.

But killing a female character who was important and did have her own story, or at least was being set up to be/had the potential to be that way, in a way that clearly shows they don't care about her potential as a character and only care about the male characters' arcs (and often not even anything interesting in the male character's arcs, just a cheap flash of angst to show how in pain they are and the world revolves around them), that is always bad and never fails to bother me. I hate when the author shows such little care for the story of a genuinely interesting character except as instrumental, and I will definitely be voting for characters like that preferentially.

While I do agree that the second one is worse, I still think the first way is really bad. I mean, the character death that coined the term "women in refrigerators" falls more in the first category than the second. You say you don't think it's a problem unless it becomes a pattern or there aren't enough living female characters to balance, but like... that's sort of the point. There are A LOT of pieces of media where THERE IS a pattern and THERE AREN'T a lot of female characters.

Also in my opinion, it happening in the first place is enough to make my eyes roll. When I reading or watch a piece of media made by a man, or, am going through a medium that already has a lot of misogyny issues (such as comic books), even if it happens once it's enough. Because whether someone does it to one female character or twenty in a story, it is still a show that they treat their female characters are inherently more disposable than their male characters. Even in pieces of media that kill off multiple characters of different genders, the death of male characters are given more narrative weight. (Ex. Think of Batman. Both of his parents die but a vast majority of works that display him grieving his parents either show him grieving them both as a unit, or they specifically talk much more about his father Thomas Wayne. They will give Thomas Wayne a whole relationship with his son, a whole career and personality, and Martha Wayne will... kind of be there. Not in all Batman media, but in most)

I'm sure there are examples of things that count as fridged that aren't as bad as others, but the fact that it's happening in the first place sort of continues this idea of female characters being disposable. "What will motivate the hero? Give him a dead mother/girlfriend/sister/whatever! Who cares that we create women just to hurt or kill them!!!!"

Not to mention, in my opinion, killing characters to motivate other characters/make them sad, no matter the gender, is just lazy writing.

Of course, when voting starts, you are free to vote for whichever fridged women that you think were wronged by the narrative. That's the point of a poll tournament!

Let’s get real for second

as you can see, me posting still lacking and the whole reason is that i have thought about some time now, i think i have lost the interest. like i don’t really even keep it up the stuff do besides listening their music because you never get tired of listening songs of the year. i know y’all follow me because you want updates and news from the group or of it’s members and i loved doing that, it’s just i do the bare minimum right now and even i don’t even post my other blog anymore. i though this blog little bit helps me get back to it but it doesn’t do that magic. you always have noticed that it’s only instagram updates and not twitter. it’s one the reason, i don’t feel like going my other account to check stuff to post here. thankfully i am not only one who post updates and there other blogs who doing much better than me and i would recommend to check these blogs out because they are here for you for helping keeping update with itzy. i don’t know if it’s a goodbye or see you later situations or i maybe start updating when comeback is happening i don’t know. thank you for following me on very beginning of this blog. i made this blog 11 days after itzy debut, i got this idea after having the other update blog and i wanted to do itzy one too so here i am. times flies so fast it’s crazy. again i don’t know if this is a goodbye or see you later. i wished i have that feeling of posting in here a lot and interact with y’all a lot but the feeling is just gone. just thank you for following this blog, feel free to unfollow if you want. as right now i just say bye!

I'm contemplating the og om season one, for stuff with my si and so on. specifically the pinning era between them and lucifer. specifically my si's, I guess angst and issues over developing feelings for him and so on.

there's the obvious thing that yes, they were legit friends at that point, and had developed a better dynamic compared to the beginning, but he still succeeded at being the Most Annoying Guy ever to them often and frequently.

but to get deeper on it all, the si would've also had the issue of but do I even want him? (yes you do, you're having romantic dreams about him, and worry and care for him terribly often)

(more seriously there's the overall thing of me being possibly grey aro and the like)

and beyond that, there would be the thing that they wouldn't think the relationship would last, because they would be leaving once the year was over + the lifespan difference y'know.

and well they'd be having those problems I do figure the rest of the brothers would spot the growing feelings (and troubles ofc). I can especially see mammon and asmo being the first to broach the topic, especially the longer the pinning was going on.

like Jesus Christ. Said artists who create the Yun Jin skin is now getting death threats on twitter and getting absolutely dog piled. I don’t care if you don’t like the skin, just treat the artists like actual people and not just machines that can churn out content. Having someone call your work shit with a “no offense” tagged on Doesn’t make it any better, and I’m sure that the creator of the “better” Yun-Jin skin probably doesn’t like getting pit against the winner. This is genuinely such an awful way to talk about people’s work, I mean I’m so disappointed with the community and that’s saying a lot considering this is the DBD community I’m talking about.

Once again, I don’t care if you think it looks like dogshit, just remember that you’re talking about a real person’s work who made a skin for a fun community contest, not to get fucking death threats on twitter and have over 400 comments talking about how their work is fucking garbage. My thoughts on the roe vs wade appeal:

i’ve been fortunate to have had access to proper sex education and access to birth control. i’ve been lucky to not have been sexually assaulted or coerced into sex by partners. i’ve been lucky enough to not have or need an abortion or have an unplanned pregnancy.

i have a two year old and am pregnant with my second child, both planned and wanted. but i’ll also say this: pregnancy fucking sucks and i can’t imagine being forced to carry a completely unwanted child for nine months. i still have 14 weeks left in this pregnancy and am over it. i get heartburn so bad i can no longer lay flat in bed and i randomly threw up in a trashcan at work twice the other day because it. i get short of breath bending down to tie my shoes and no longer sleep through the night because either leg cramps or having to pee wakes me up. all the vaginal discharge (called leukorrhea) from being pregnant has ruined lots of underwear, and then there’s the random aches and pains from my ligaments stretching to help my baby grow.

but i chose to have this child and that’s the whole point: i chose this and the supreme court is taking that choice away from millions of women who should have the right to choose what to do with their own bodies. to all those women who’ve had an abortion, need an abortion, or could have an abortion in the future: i stand with you and your right to choose your own bodily autonomy. and to the supreme court: fuck you for endangering countless women for your own political ideologies.

On automation- thoughts

(Okay this is not Moral Orel related (sorry) BUT it is art related, kinda, and I'm sorry if it seems messy).

I have been thinking about the core problems with increasing automation and the advent of ai/machine learning 'creations' (as in ai generated so-called 'art') that lead back to the problems with capitalism and the way our society functions, dysfunctionally.

If you've read anything from the anarchist library (anarchistlibrary.org), you may have read "Abolish Restaurants" which is a great essay detailing the history of restaurants and why its form and methodology are flawed at the core.

Anyway there is a passage on automation in this essay that I think is relevant to the discourse around AI and the replacement of creative human output with fed computer generation and the like. It's not exactly the same but I think it should be brought up as a point. "Machines are not used to make our jobs easier. They are used as a way to increase the amount of product a particular worker can pump out in a given amount of time... machines replace human tasks. They become just another link the chain of tasks. We don't have less work to do. We just have to do a smaller range of tasks, more often" (Abolish Restaurants). The described chain of command here highlights the problem with the restaurant model and automation. Particularly the bolded phrases indicate the similar issues with machine domination as in AI generation in lieu of human expression. The issue with all of this is nothing fundementally changes for society. Technology as a concept is neither progressive nor regressive, but the way it's formed, how it is used and who uses it for what means, is. In his essay, "Forcing Marx into the Automation Debate", Eric Fleischmann relates MIT professor Norbert Weiner's words about automation from his book The Human Use of Human Beings. Weiner wrote “that such machines, though helpless by themselves, may be used by a human being or a block of human beings to increase their control over the rest of the human race” (Fleischmann).

What does this have to do with the use of ai? Well, the way machine learning and automation in general has been utilised on a large scale does not do anything radical for society or especially for reduction of people's labour. This disparity is despite the way this particular field of technology might be framed as being 'new' and 'exciting' and even 'revolutionary', as 'game changers'. I am absolutely not saying that every use of machine learning/ automation is the same because they are not- that would be a mischaracterisation. BUT in relation to the discourse over the many problems with popular ai content generation, and with means of automation in the workplace, there is much space to critique and re-imagine.

At the core, the way automation is implemented only enforces a hierarchy/chain of command in which the few have power over the many. And it all comes back to prioritisation of capital procurement over considerations for people. That goal is at heavy odds with progress and getting out of this static hell in which we are marching through late-stage capitalism.

In their essay "When the Robots Fire Us", the Federation of Anarchists in Bulgaria wrote, "Technological progress gives us opportunities to work less and less, and to create more. Instead of this, however, the need to sell ourselves on the “labor market” threatens to ruin us. The only decision is to remove this market, the removal of ownership over our natural resources, technologies and robots, distribution of resources based on the needs of the people. We are valuable because we are people, not because we work. Only then will we be secure in our futures. We will surpass the monotony of work, the repetitiveness of every day, and the shorter days with more creativity".

I wanted to include this quote because it speaks to a future without the labour market and essentially without prioritisation of capital, wherein the means of production- that is, how goods are produced, and who does the work- must change from the current form(s) to realize a radical potential that benefits everyone. In this imaginary we can create without the oppressive and regressive capitalist systems looming overhead.

TL;DR: Automation and AI machine learning pretend to be radical when they aren't and only serve the status quo

A more interesting one might be what they think of pets? Or what kind of pets they’d prefer to have? Or even just sentiments about animals in general. Probably a bit more obvious for some than others XD

The charcuterie board anon is actually me! I thought it was weird and I was too shy to come off anon.

I honestly don't know much about herbal tea or coffee so I'm basing this off vibes. I think Jacinth would prefer herbal tea to coffee. Quartz would drink it too since he's never tried coffee. He isn't allowed to have caffeine.

Matthew prefers coffee but would drink herbal tea on occasion for medicinal benefits. Nephele dislikes both herbal tea and coffee but will guzzle Matthew's coffee since it's warm.

I don't see Ralla drinking either tbh. He's probably tried both drinks at some point in his life though. Mocha drinks herbal tea.

Putting the other question under a cut because I got long winded. (Warning for mentions of animal death)

Mocha actually has pets! They keep axolotls and snails, and they're very devoted to them. The two axolotls are black melanoids. I haven't chosen names for them yet. Aside from their own pets and Ralla's, Mocha doesn't have a strong affection for animals. They frequently eat rats and other stray animals they find in town.

Ralla has two lindworms, Appleblossom and Snowbell. He plays with them sometimes, but the servants mostly take care of them. He's indifferent towards animals.

Matthew probably had dogs when he was younger. He considered adopting another dog as an adult but he was worried Nephele would eat them. Plus he just didn't have time for them so he decided against it. He hunts, but he has a strong respect and appreciation for wildlife.

Nephele views animals as food though they are fond of frogs. They enjoy catching and releasing them.

Due to their size, Jacinth doesn't bother with pets or animals in general. They do like cats though, and when Quartz was younger they took him to adopt kittens. Quartz is pretty fond of small animals but wary of larger ones.

things learned in episode 10:

haruka is now aware that kaito is the admin for the points system-he entices her with the idea of using her points to reset her life to how she believes it was meant to be

the members seem to be able to build up their points through aiding momo-kaito tells haruka that since she helped momo last time her points have increased a bit

the presence of the juuto is a great concern for the noto, as they seem to be a threat to the noto, as well as to humans

the people that the juuto take are still alive-seem to be possessed in a way

it seems that the juuto had been sealed away, but the seal had been broken somehow-sonoi reveals this information while speaking with sonoza and sononi

while haruka has a passion for creating manga, she doesn’t wish the circumstances of having to become a warrior to be the problem of someone else with aspirations of their own-ultimately leading haruka to return to being onisister

the fact that someone else can take the position of onisister may imply that the members may have been chosen for specific traits they hold, as haruka is very similar to this other girl with her passion for her art but they are very different in how they interact with the other members (haruka is often crass and seems to fit as the little sister with only brothers in the group, whereas marina seems to act more like an elder sister who watches over the other members- haruka fights with the other members and complains, but marina helps the members in their day to day lives while also complimenting them frequently)

a big point here was that talent can not be taken, but must be developed by a person through their efforts-ties into how haruka sort of stole from marina through unknowingly putting her in the position of being onisister when haruka decided to quit using her points (haruka is given awards for her manga after she uses her points, but when she goes back on her decision marina is shown to be given awards for her photography-haruka steals from marina by allowing the plagiarism accusations to be shifted onto marina, effectively ending marina’s career as a photographer while basking in the limelight that marina would otherwise be in) - haruka likely needs to be a warrior in order to earn the life she truly wants to lead without impacting other people like marina

haruka is down to zero points, and kiji’s points seem to be building up again (kiji’s points may not have been impacted by his actions in episode 8 if the points are just based on helping momo, but i think it depends on what falls under “helping”)
