miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 2
2: Dreams Come True
Tumblr media
Written by: Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, and Brad Falchuk Directed by: Bradley Buecker
Overall Thoughts: I’m going to admit it: I have a huge soft spot for finales. Even if the finale is terrible, I’ll still love it because it’s the end (except How I Met Your Mother, I’ll never forgive them). Glee had a fantastic finale. I know some people disagree, and I see their points, but I absolutely loved it. The divide between 2015 and 2020 worked so nicely, and I don’t feel like they spent too much time on one specific character. They did what they set out to do, and I think it worked marvelously.
What I Like:
It’s hard not to just say all of it. Sure, there are a couple of weak points, but it’s honestly an almost perfect episode. It finds the perfect balance between emotional, funny, hopeful, and nostalgic. You feel like you are right there with them in the choir room, watching Will perform for the last time. You feel like you’re there, watching Rachel win a Tony with all your friends from Glee. It’s an immersive experience, and I’m so thankful for it.
I know some people dislike this, and I do find it frustrating in a way, but I kind of like that they didn’t try and force a bit of everyone into this episode. They chose the six or seven characters they wanted to focus on, and they focused on them. I don’t know why people were confused that these characters were Will, Sue, Rachel, Kurt, Blaine, Sam, and Mercedes, seeing as they were the main cast of the season, but there we go.
McKinley being turned into a school for the performing arts, with Will as principal and Sam as the ND director. Seemed fitting.
Mercedes getting her career kickstarted, and singing her goodbye in the most perfect way. Also, “Mercedes Jones has left the building” CATCH ME CRYING.
Sue and Becky getting a reunion and fixing their friendship, and then being shown to still be friends years down the road.
Kurt’s adorable little time capsule locker, even though there’s no realistic way they would let him do that.
That we get to see Kurt and Blaine in their own flashforward <3
That Rachel gets to say goodbye to McKinley alone. “This Time” is such a fitting tribute to both the show and Rachel Berry.
Having Rachel be Kurt and Blaine’s surrogate works on so many levels. First of all, it is sort of a roundabout thing for Rachel, who also has gay fathers. But, for me, it shows a HUGE character development in here. Rachel is a Broadway star. Being a Broadway star is being on stage every single night, in front of a live audience. You can’t hide a pregnancy like you can on a TV show, which means that once Rachel reached 3-5 months, depending on how fast she got big, she had to take off. This means that Rachel is not only giving Kurt and Blaine a child, but she is putting her career on hold for 4-6 months to do so. She is at the point where her friendships are more important than her career. Like… damn. I have so many feelings about this.
Rachel winning her Tony! And then thanking Schue in her speech! If any other Glee club member had done so I would have rolled my eyes, but he really did so much for Rachel. It feels only fitting.
ST. BERRY ENDGAME HELL YES.
Also, I was never that into Tartie, but it feels right that they ended up together!
Y’all don’t even know how emotional it makes me to see Roderick in that apartment with everyone watching Rachel win her Tony. This is the guy who started the season with no friends, saying he thought it might be okay to make some real friends, and now here he is. IT MAKES ME REALLY EMOTIONAL OKAY.
Sue being vice-president seems so fitting.
That Sue gets the last lines.
The whole performance of “I Lived”.
The last shot is so perfect and emotional fuck me.
What I Don’t Like:
The Will stuff at the beginning does feel a bit long.
As much as I understand why they chose who to focus on, and support that, it does kind of suck that we don’t get to see where Quinn, Brittany, Santana, Mike, Puck, etc. are in 2020.
Songs:
Teach Your Children: It’s not my favourite song, but it’s nice that Will got a solo in the finale, and that it was so emotional.
Someday We’ll Be Together: Look at the love of my life, fucking killing it. I adore her, and I love this cover.
The Winner Takes It All: It’s so freaking amazing that the finale of Sue and Will’s battle comes in song. Sue always criticized the glee club for singing what they’re feeling, and yet here, that is all she can find herself doing. It’s so perfect, and the song is fantastic.
Daydream Believer: I can’t believe we actually got a Klaine duet in the finale. It’s such a sweet scene, and a fantastic duet.
This Time: God, absolutely stunning. As I said before, a perfect tribute to Rachel Berry and McKinley, and honestly, Glee as a whole.
I Lived: The best song to use for the finale. It is such a perfect conclusion for this show.
Final Thoughts: Obviously the fact that this is the finale means that I am already more prone to being emotional about it. I mean, it’s the end. I sobbed my way through it the first time, and it still manages to get a few tears from me to this day. I find it to be a perfect ending, and one of the biggest things that Glee did right. Bravo, Glee. Bravo.

Hey, sorry, too lazy to login. But I wanted to ask a question- how would you describe Reed’s relationship with Johnny? I saw someone saying he didn’t like Johnny, and that Johnny was disposable to him. I actually thought they had a really close relationship, so was curious as to what your opinions are. :)
Yes, you would be right. Johnny and Reed are incredibly close. They’re family, for starters. Reed is and always has been the closest thing Johnny’s ever had to a father, and Reed, similarly, sees Johnny as his son. Honestly, Franklin isn’t Reed’s oldest child – Johnny is. Reed took over the responsibilities of being Johnny’s father the second he met him (he saw a fatherless child and just… stepped into the role of his dad because he saw Johnny needed it). He treats Johnny very much like he treats all of his children – he guides, supports, praises, encourages, and advises him, and he lectures Johnny patiently when Johnny makes mistakes or behaves irresponsibly. But I think there’s a lot of pride there on Reed’s side whenever Johnny behaves like the kind, responsible, heroic man Reed’s spent years encouraging Johnny to become (and also Sue, of course, who is Johnny’s main parental figure). Reed is Johnny’s role model and mentor in a lot of ways, and Johnny completely adores him. Johnny clearly sees Reed as being everything he wants to be someday – a loving husband, a caring father, a good friend and brother, beloved, popular, and respected and taken seriously by the world at large. Reed, for his part, has been letting Johnny help him in his lab since Johnny was at least fifteen, he worries about Johnny’s well-being, he gives him advice and guidance, helps him play pranks on Ben, takes him out on adventures, looks after him, etc.
I think you also have to consider how the large age gap between Reed and Johnny impacts their relationship. Initially, from 1961-1985, Reed was 25 years older than Johnny (Johnny was 15, Reed 40 when the rocket crash happened). Reed was literally old enough to be Johnny’s father. In 1985, Byrne retconned it so that Reed was about 13 years older than Johnny, meaning that Johnny was no more than 5-6 years old when he met Reed for the first time. Practically still a baby. Most recently, Fraction retconned it so that Reed is only ~9 years older than Johnny, so Johnny was about 10 when they met. Johnny has always been just a child when Reed met him for the first time, and that’s very much affected the way Reed sees him – as a little boy who needs to be protected, encouraged, and guided. Reed’s frequently been shown worrying about Johnny’s well-being, his mental health, what will become of him, etc., the way one would about their children. He does occasionally get frustrated with Johnny when Johnny behaves irresponsibly, but he’s mostly very proud of the man (and hero) Johnny’s become, and he goes out of his way to tell Johnny so since he knows how insecure Johnny is.
Johnny, in return, tries to earn Reed’s approval and respect and takes his opinion very seriously. He is fiercely loyal to Reed – he’s said he’d follow Reed to Hell and back, and he literally has done exactly that. So the dynamic between Reed and Johnny is really a father/son relationship – even when they argue, they still adore each other. They’re still family. I think that, other than Sue, Johnny admires Reed more than he admires anyone else. I can see how someone who doesn’t get how deeply they love each other might misinterpret Reed’s parental chiding as contempt, when it’s really not that at all. Reed doesn’t look down on Johnny at all – he worries about his mental health and his future, but he has good cause for both.
Just to dispel the notion that Reed at all sees Johnny as “disposable” let me point out that during Waid’s run, in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #508, when Ben was possessed by Doom and threatening to kill Johnny, forcing Reed to choose between his best friend of the past twenty years and Johnny, his adopted son, he chose Johnny. I don’t think there are many people whose life he would choose over Ben’s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s also, in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #219 just tells Johnny point-blank that he loves him – “no matter what happens, I want you to know I’ll always love both of you”:
Tumblr media
(Let me also point out that there’s an AU where Reed and Johnny were the ones who got married, not Reed and Sue.)
REED SUPPORTING AND PRAISING JOHNNY:
There are many panels of Reed worrying about and supporting Johnny throughout the FF’s nearly 60-year history. For instance, in Fantastic Four Vol 4 #16, he tells Uatu the Watcher that he worries about what will become of Johnny, who responds by saying that Reed views Johnny “with the same protective nature that you do your own children” – i.e., Reed is as protective of Johnny as he is of his kids, and sees him in much the same way he sees Franklin and Val. Reed’s specifically worrying about Johnny because Old John, an AU Johnny they ran into, committed suicide to save his team, just as 616 Johnny essentially committed suicide to save Ben, Val, and Franklin not long before. So he has good reason to worry.
Tumblr media
In Spider-Man & the Human Torch in… ¡Bahía De Los Muertos!, Johnny and Peter Parker have to deal with a mystery and monster by themselves because Ben, Reed, and Sue are off-planet on another mission, and when they return, Reed checks in to make sure Johnny’s okay (Johnny fainted after going nova twice). Johnny immediately begins to compare himself to Reed and tear himself down, but Reed cuts him off and praises what a good job he did. And then when Johnny points out that figuring out scientific mysteries and leading a team are so easy for Reed, Reed points out that Johnny can fly and he can’t – in other words, Reed’s intelligence is just another superpower/one of Reed’s strengths, and Johnny has some of his own that Reed lacks and even envies. Afterward, Peter tells Johnny that he looks like “daddy watched you catch the winning touchdown,” and Johnny responds by saying, “it does kinda feel that way,” and brags about Reed saying he was impressed with him. So Johnny clearly DOES see Reed as a father figure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 3 #15, Johnny rushes off half-cocked to save Sue, and Reed stops and comforts him:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 3 #54, Johnny’s tearing himself down for having panicked and summoned Doom to deliver Valeria (Reed was being held prisoner by rogue Inhumans at the time), and Reed reassures him and again praises him for having saved the lives of Val and Sue both, and even asks Johnny to be Val’s godfather:
Tumblr media
In Marvel Knights 4 #9, Reed tells Johnny that he’s proud of him for sticking with his job as a firefighter, and Johnny seems speechless:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #522, Johnny comes up with a plan to defeat Galactus, and Reed takes the time to praise his plan, and Johnny, again, seems very pleased that he’s earned Reed’s praise.
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #578, Johnny invites a girl back to the Baxter Building who turns out to be a Negative Zone bug trying to open the portal Reed has in his lab, thus putting everyone in the Baxter Building in danger, and Reed very gently lectures Johnny for behaving so thoughtlessly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #586, Johnny takes Reed’s advice so much to heart that he sacrifices himself to save Ben, Val, and Franklin – because this is what he stands for. Love of family.
Tumblr media
And it’s not like Reed worrying about and supporting Johnny is recent. It’s been present from the very beginning. Even way back in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #1, Reed takes the time to praise Johnny when he does well:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #48, after 19yo Johnny’s separated from Crystal, the Inhuman Princess he’d fallen for, and he’s distraught, Reed gently comforts him, telling him that “no man who ever lived was more proud of his brother-in-law than I am of you right now,” because Johnny was strong and mature enough to accept that there was nothing to be done to reunite him and Crystal.
Tumblr media
And earlier in that same arc, in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #47, Reed calls Johnny a man for the first time, and Johnny seems stunned and proud that Reed’s acknowledging that he’s growing up and treating him with more respect:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #112, Reed again takes the time to praise Johnny for behaving maturely:
Tumblr media
This is actually one of my favorite Johnny issues – in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #214, Ben, Reed, and Sue begin aging prematurely and are on the verge of death, and Johnny is left to figure out how to save them on his own, and all of his insecurities, anxieties, and self-doubt begin to consume him. When Reed, Sue, and Ben are cured, Reed again praises Johnny and very kindly assures him that “you’ve never been a failure” and that “without you, the Fantastic Four could not hope to exist.”
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #244, Johnny’s girlfriend, Frankie Raye, recently dumped him for Galactus, Johnny goes missing for days, and when Reed and Sue discover that he’s in Frankie’s old apartment with Frankie’s roommate, Julie, they rush over to look after him:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #300, Johnny turns to Reed for marital advice in the days leading up to his marriage to “Alicia” (but really Lyja), and the fact that he feels that getting married means that he’ll really need to “grow up” now and stop being “the kid of the group.” He clearly values Reed’s thoughts on marriage and feels comfortable and close enough to Reed to discuss his fears with him:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #357, I think it’s pretty clear that Johnny admires Reed and Sue’s healthy, loving marriage, asking Sue “how do you and Reed do it? All the time you’ve been together, and it’s like you’re still on your honeymoon!”
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #358, after they all discover that Johnny’s wife is really Lyja (a Skrull spy sent to figure out how to kill them all), Reed blames himself for failing to protect Johnny:
Tumblr media
JOHNNY’S LOYALTY TO/ADMIRATION OF REED
Johnny’s also just never tried to hide how much he admires Reed. During the very early years of the FF, little 15yo Johnny was unquestioningly loyal and obedient towards Reed, to the point that Ben teased him about it, like in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #7:
Tumblr media
And in Fantastic Four Vol 1 #10, Johnny tells Ben that Reed “always was” the leader of the FF, even if Ben refused to acknowledge it:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #39, Johnny admires how capable Reed is as a leader and a hero:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four: The Wedding Special, we see a flashback where Reed turns to Johnny for advice on his relationship with Sue, and Johnny clearly wants Sue and Reed to get married, and again Reed and Johnny are bonding over their work on one of Reed’s vehicles:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #182, Johnny tells Ben that Reed is “your basic nice guy.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 3 #60, Johnny passionately defends Reed from a writer who implied that Reed was arrogant:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #501-2, Johnny’s the one who snaps Reed out of his depression/guilt spiral following a vicious attack by Doom that left Reed scarred and his family badly traumatized/injured -- a) this means that he knows Reed well enough to be able to snap him out of his depression, and b) he’s absolutely certain that Reed is incapable of murder, because he’s just too good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #543, Johnny says that he’d follow Ben, Sue, and especially Reed into Hell:
Tumblr media
In Uncanny Avengers Vol 3 #2, Johnny remembers back to Reed trying to encourage Johnny to learn more about science, and Johnny says he doesn’t have to, because “that’s why we got you” – i.e., Reed is his safety net.
Tumblr media
REED MENTORING JOHNNY
In Fantastic Four Vol 1 #12, we find out that little 15-16yo Johnny has been helping Reed design and work on the Fantasticar – and it’s something he’s continued to do since then. We all know Reed doesn’t really need help, so he’s just doing it to spend time with and encourage Johnny:
Tumblr media
In Fantastic Four Vol 3 #1, Reed is working on the Fantasticar with Johnny and little Franklin (notice that little Franklin is “helping” Reed the way little Johnny probably used to), and Reed and Johnny have a little heart-to-heart (I really think that they do a lot of their bonding over working in Reed’s lab together). Notice that Reed takes the fact that Johnny is upset at Reed not telling him about a research station in the Antarctic before very seriously, and even apologetically:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 #657, Johnny points out that he helped Reed build the casing to the warp drive, and apparently is the one who decorates all of the FF’s vehicles too:
Tumblr media
In S.H.I.E.L.D. Vol 3 #4, we see that Reed’s years of mentoring Johnny have really paid off – ~30yo Johnny has progressed to designing his own engines in his own workshop, is even entering them into competitions, and fully expects to win:
Tumblr media
Anyway, I’ll stop there because this is already A LOT (sorry!) but, really, there’s so much to say about their father-son relationship! So I will leave you all with this panel of Reed taking his son and his son’s BFF out on a joyride through space:
Tumblr media
Reed’s not like a regular dad. He’s a cool dad.

The ride over was as awkward as you had expected it to be. You shifted uncomfortably, the car door handle wedged into your side. Somehow you had managed to get the 'best' seat in the limo. The small space buzzed with idle conversation, ones you were all excluded from. Tonight was about you? You glanced around. Even Sam was occupied. You cleared your throat, loudly, and looked around again. No one even glanced your way. An Avenger after all, you had developed the amazing ability to blend into the seat cushions. Cue enthusiastic jazz hands. Huffing you slid deeper into the foam and pressed your ear to the speaker, listening to the low hum of music.
Maybe someday, You'll be somewhere Talking to me As if you knew me, Saying, I'll be home for next year, darling. I'll be home for next year.
In between the lines Is the only place you'll find What you're missing That you didn't know was there. So when I say goodbye, You must do your best to try And forgive me this weakness, This weakness.
The restaurant was the nicest place you had ever been. The napkins probably cost more than your shoes. Tony insisted on ordering piles of food and copious amounts of alcohol to match. You sipped on a cosmopolitan, avoiding the possibility of even getting tipsy. The last thing you needed to do was get drunk and embarrass yourself.
"What do you think?" Tony asked, waving a glass of amber liquid around, gesturing. Before you could answer, Bucky cut in, "Well, it isn't shawarma." Tony shot him a glare.
You couldn't stop your eyes from wandering to Bucky, who had been forced into a nice button up shirt. Black, as always. Someone had even made him comb his perpetual bedhead. With the hair out of his face, you could actually see his eyes for a change. How could you have missed how brilliantly blue they were? "Need something?" His eyes caught yours and he stared back at you, unimpressed. You looked away, at the floor, the ceiling, Sam, who just shrugged.
You brought your eyes to Tony and gave him a small smile, gesturing with your own glass of alcohol. "It's very nice Mr.Stark I--"
"I told you to call me Tony, my father was Mr.Stark."
You took another small sip of your drink, letting the burn of alcohol hit the back of your throat before continuing. "Tony. I've never been anywhere so fancy. It's lovely."
You saw Natasha lean into Bucky and whisper. They laughed and you couldn't help but feel like it was about you. You tried to shake it off. You brought your glass to your lips again. Why was it already empty?
"Looks like you need a refill!" Tony quickly replaced the glass with a full one, and soon you're halfway through another drink.
"So Tony, why are we celebrating me exactly?" You finally ask. "I didn't do anything." They had more to celebrate than you did. Fighting off dust bunnies was hardly heroic.
"He likes excuses to get drunk." Natasha snorted, motioning to all of the liquor on the table as if she wasn't holding a drink herself. You smirked. Tony did love his Laphroaig. He took a swig of his drink and shook his head, ignoring Natasha. "You've been with us for six months. That's something to celebrate."
The table was silent, everyone suddenly more invested in the design on the silverware than the conversation. Your cheeks grew hot and pink. You took a large gulp of the frozen pink alcoholic concoction Tony had suggested you try. You felt dizzy. How many drinks had you had?
"Come on guys, she's done a great job!" He was so enthusiastic compared to the others. Did they really notice you that little? You’re less than furniture, you're a bug. Sam cleared his throat and spoke up. "I like that you cook for us, you know. When we're home and not on missions." You know he's just trying to make the situation less awkward, but it still helped a little. "You're just saying that because you've got the hots for her." Natasha joked and you felt your blush grow hotter.
"You haven't destroyed anything," Steve mentioned. Well, that is a plus, and also true. Already a win against your predecessors, the MaidBots. You started to feel a little better. Maybe they do appreciate you. You go to lift your glass to your lips again.
"Tony's just smug he found a solution that hasn't destroyed anything, tried to kill us, or died yet." Blurted out the ever eloquent Bucky Barnes. Everyone froze, their eyes all on you.
You were stuck for a moment, glass in your hand, mouth agape, trying to process exactly what had just happened. Tears welled up in your eyes, even though you were begging them not to. You were certain everyone in the restaurant could see how red your face was, it matched the crimson of the tablecloth at that point.
Finally putting your glass down, you cleared your throat a little, sticking a smile on your face as tears threatening to cascade down your cheeks. "Thank you, Mr.Star--Tony, everyone. It's been an honor to work for you." You made a point to stare directly at Bucky, hoping he would spontaneously combust. "If it's okay, I would like to go home now." You pushed your seat away from the table, standing. "Please, enjoy your evening without me."
-------------
You held your composure long enough to make it outside, and even long enough to hail a taxi home. No one had come outside to get you, stop you, say I'm sorry. You weren't surprised, though. The Avengers didn't say I'm sorry. You gave the driver the address home, and before the restaurant was behind you, tears were streaming down your face.
Back at the facility, you gave the driver a big tip, feeling sorry that he had to listen to your sobbing the entire way there. You watched the headlights until they were specks in the distance, before turning to face the facility. It loomed in front of you, almost mocking you in light of the night's events. You gripped your key tight, digging it into your palm. You couldn't go back in, not just yet. Your heart was still heavy from pain and head still fuzzy from alcohol. Instead, you peeled the heels off your aching feet and laid down on the well-manicured lawn.
The sky was clear that night, no clouds. The moon was a charming crescent, just a sliver in the expansive black sky. You brushed the hair out of your eyes, wiping away the rest of your tears with it. The night air was cool and refreshing against your face, the light breeze making the leaves in the nearby trees rustle softly. You started picking out constellations in the sky, naming them off in your head. You could feel yourself finally relaxing.
Suddenly there was the familiar sound of tires on gravel, and headlights swung over the lawn and driveway. Oh shit. What would they say now, finding you in the fucking grass like this? You heard car doors open and shut. Their laughter filled the air. The only thing that didn't fill the air was their gasps and exclaims of shock at finding you, laying like bugs do, on the lawn. Instead, the front door open and shut, silence returning to the yard.
You waited a few minutes, letting them settle in the house, before getting up and making way inside. You let the front door slam behind you, echoing through the house. You could hear their voices in the living room. Great, just great. You would have to pass them to get to your room. Shoes in hand you began to walk to the hallway, determined to make it to your room without breaking down in front of them. You kept your eyes forward. Right foot, left foot, right foot, left foo--
"Y/N."
Bucky. No. You were done tonight. Especially with him.
"Hey, Y/N."
You turned slowly, looking at him.
"You've got a huge grass stain on your ass."
"AUGH!" You threw your shoes down on the floor and they bounced hitting the back of the couch. He eyed them before looking back at you, confused.
"Buck..." Steve sighed, hand over eyes. "That was not damage control."
You focused your laser charged glare at Steve. "Damage control?" You hissed, taking a step closer. Steve lifted his hand to look at you, surprised. None of them had ever seen you angry. Natasha looked impressed.
"Y/N, it's going to be okay." Steve made an even poorer attempt at 'damage control'. You felt something inside you snap.
"No, it is not going to be okay, Steve Rogers. I am not okay, Captain fucking America." You could hear Tony snorting in the background, absolutely losing his shit.
"Y/N, let's go calm down." Sam came over, placing his hands gently on your shoulders. You shrugged them off, giving the room one last nasty glare before turning. "I can handle myself, Sam. I don't need the Avengers to take care of me." You turned and walked to your bedroom, letting the door slam behind you.

A LIFE WITHOUT STAN LEE? -- Part Two
Ever wonder what it must have been like to BE Stan Lee over the past decade or two as the Marvel movies soared to prominence?
At 90 years old, he was still vibrant and funny and in good health, and he seemed to be having the time of his life just BEING Stan Lee. His final couple of years, with his wife Joan’s passing and so much behind-the-scenes wrangling to control his assets and access, were an embarrassment of greed from so many.
His detractors spoke of karma, of freelancers who worked with him and did not fare as well as he did as Marvel's editor-in-chief and icon/corporate spokesman, either in credit or financially. His biggest mistakes and, perhaps, regrets were there for the world to see.
And he had to sue Marvel for the $10 million in movie merchandise royalties he was contractually guaranteed. Wait, what?
Yup, even Smilin’ Stan had some bumpy rides.
Remember when I mentioned first meeting him in '78? Stan reviewed my friend Scott's artwork, dated and autographed the backs of his pages and paintings "to prove I saw these," and recommended that Scott submit his work to Marvel. Scott did so. Marvel's editor at the time rejected the submission outright with a terse note, "Stan has no power here."
That was a bit sobering. I stumbled over that sour sentiment a number of times across the decades.
Probably the oddest example? One day in the ‘90s, Stan Lee called me to say that Marvel asked him to write The Hulk vs. Superman cross-over one-shot, and he wanted to work on it with artist Mike Deodato, Jr. "Can Mike draw from a loose outline? You know how I like to work." I explained to him that the Brazil-based Deodato -- who was still learning English at the time -- didn't see himself as a writer and preferred to work from a page-by-page, panel by panel plot, if not a full script. "What if you and I talk out the idea, Stan?" I suggested. "I can then develop it into the full plot that Mike can work from, you review it, and he draws it from there?" "That'd be great, Dave! We've been talking about working together for awhile now. Let me give you the editor's name and number at Marvel. Tell him Mike's available to start, and we can get to work."
I called the editor and left a message. Then another. Nothing....although Stan and I had several quick conversations about it over the next few weeks. Finally, Stan called me again to ask if I've heard anything from the editor. "Nothing yet, Stan," I told him. "Fortunately, Mike Deodato has other work keeping him busy, but I don't want him to lose this opportunity." "O.K.," Stan replied. "Call them again today and let me know as soon as you hear anything."
Five more messages, an Email or two, and I forget how many days later, the editor finally called me back. "You must've misunderstood," the editor said, condescension in his voice. "Stan didn't mean to say he wanted Mike Deodato for The Hulk vs. Superman. He meant, in general, that he'd like to work with Deodato some day on something like that. You must've misunderstood." So I explained that I couldn't have misunderstood and, grabbing my notes, I began to quote Stan's exact words. The editor interrupted, "No, you must've misunderstood." And he hung up.
So I called Stan's office, and his assistant gave me Stan's cell number. Stan was in his car when I recounted that conversation with the editor. "What? I didn't 'misunderstand,'" said Stan, in a voice that went cold. "I'm going to Marvel in two days, and we are going to talk about a lot of things." He sounded sick of this. "Call me at Marvel's offices in the afternoon."
So I did. The gal who answered at Marvel told me, "Stan is still in his meeting. I can hear him yelling. I'll tell him you called like he asked." A few days later, Stan called me back, sorry that Deodato and I had been treated that way by Marvel. I sighed and said, "Well, I'm surprised and sorry they treated you that way, Stan." "Ahh, don't worry," he answered. "I'm fine." I later heard that this may have been the same visit to Marvel where Stan's contract got re-negotiated for a million bucks a year, an assistant and driver and he would only be responsible to Marvel for one day per week and could launch his own ventures. Soon he launched Stan Lee Media and, later, POW! Entertainment; Mike Deodato moved to DC and Dark Horse and Chaos! before spending the next decade back exclusively at Marvel, and The Hulk vs. Superman was eventually published with a very talented, very different creative team.
For Christmas that year, Mike Deodato created a drawing of The Hulk vs. Superman, and we gave the original art to Stan to commemorate the book that almost happened.

Stan has always put on a great face for the comics biz, endlessly energetic and upbeat about its potential. He's even been its apologist at times, such as when a comic book store owner, writing in CBG, demanded that Marvel apologize for destroying the direct sales market with its '90s era machinations and hurting his business -- and Stan called that store to apologize.
I remember walking down a Convention aisle at normal speed, and Stan and Max Anderson cut around me, one on each side, walking at twice my speed and out of sight before I knew it -- Stan being 88 at the time. I mentioned my surprised to Max the next day, and Max told me, "Stan saw me drinking a Red Bull, asked me what it was, and I told him it was to boost my energy. Stan said he ought to drink a few, and I said, 'NO! I drink these to keep up with you!'" We both chuckled over that.
So a few years later, I was certainly pleased to greet Stan at New York Comic Con so soon after his pacemaker was put in, walking and talking as fast as ever. It was amazing to see people crowding the aisles just to get a glimpse of him.
HIs life had certainly become meta, with a Fake Stan Lee on the payroll (I think) running around Conventions doing a riff on the '80s version of Stan. It certainly was fun for me to pose with the fake Stan Lee while holding a picture I'd just taken with the real Stan Lee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because of my decades of working with artists and teaching Creating Comics Seminars all over the world, Stan was happy that I accepted the assignment to write Stan Lee's How to Draw Comics based on those Seminars.
I wrote, assigned new art, and produced the entire 228-page book over a three-week span in the Philippines over Christmas. Stan reviewed the chapters, writing back comments like, "This is grrreeeeat!" and taking time at the end to send me a note about how well he thought it turned out.
He seemed quite pleased with what I did with it. And to his credit, even on a late-night talk show interview, he never claimed that he wrote it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tina Francisco, Katrina Mae Hao, and I came up with a whole pile of Stan caricatures for that book that didn't get used!  I hope to put them to good use someday.
Tumblr media
Oddly, nobody told Stan how well the Stan Lee's How to Draw Comics book was selling.  He wrote me --
Tumblr media
I had to admit nobody told me how it was selling, either.  (I later picked up copies of the book in Italian, so that was interesting!)
When Stan remembered that I was in the process of writing a How To Create Comics book under my own name, he wrote me a terse --
Tumblr media
So I have his intro in my files.  I need to finish that book, and you know who I'll dedicate it.
Later on, I ghosted some introductions for Stan, on such books as JAPAN NEEDS HEROES.
I found it funny -- the editor of the JAPAN NEEDS HEROES book inserted two paragraphs of his own text into my introduction; not knowing someone else had penned them, Stan deleted those paragraphs entirely because they seemed unnecessary and simply didn't sound like him. Stan ended up changing just one word of mine, "harried" to "hassled," and the intro ran otherwise as I wrote it.  I later found that editor claiming, to anyone who would listen, that HE wrote that intro.
Tumblr media
Just experiencing him BEING Stan Lee could be an inspiration, a learning experience.
Most telling might be a several years back when my sister-in-law's baby died in the hospital at only a month old, and Stan Lee was the FIRST person to contribute to a fund launched to help her with expenses. What’s more, he wrote her about how he and his wife had lost a child in childbirth, so they both understood her pain.
Or how about this one? It’s a Saturday in 2009 at Pittsburgh ComiCon, and something had gone wrong. Since we’d worked with Stan Lee on Who Wants To Be a Superhero? for his POW! Entertainment and we were about to start work on Stan Lee's How To Draw Comics, Stan suggested that I ask the Con to schedule us together for a few minutes, since he was booked wall-to-wall. The scheduled Friday night meet-up I’d arranged with the Con's owner for some reason didn’t happen. And by Saturday afternoon, it appeared as though Stan would finish his meet-and-greets upstairs in the Green Room, wrap his autograph session, and be whisked away two hours later for the airport without me saying so much as “Hello.”
Then: From our Glass House Graphics booth on the convention floor, my wife saw the Green Room door open at the top of the stairs, and she nudged me in its direction. “Go there!” she said. I did so, and she followed with our daughter Jasmine in tow and my photographer friend Paul Brittain right behind. Down came a couple of Security, then Stan, then the Con people. As Stan hit the bottom stairs, I stepped out, extending my hand. “Stan! David Campiti, Glass House Graphics!”
He looked up and, in true Stan Lee fashion, his face lit up while shaking my hand firmly. “Dave! Glad you made it! I was hoping to see you!”
The security guard stepped in to push me away. “Ya gotta go, keep moving.”
Throwing his arms wide, Stan said, “Wait — Dave’s a friend!” The guard glared at me, looked at Stan, back at me, then waved. “C’mon, then.”
Stan put his arm around my shoulder as we walked — briskly — toward his signing area in the next room. “Sorry it’s so crazy. How ya been?” he asked.
“We’re doing well. Glad you could spare me a moment, Stan,” I replied. “My artist Fabio Laguna and I did this up to give you, a nod to Disney buying Marvel.” The yellow package contained a 13” x 19” color print, a cartoon depicting Walt Disney wearing a Thor hat and costume and Stan Lee wearing a Mickey Mouse hat and costume, with a Disney logo emblazoned atop Marvel’s own logo. “This is CUTE!” he said. “Can I have this?”
“Of course!” I said. “There’s two of them. One signed by Fabio and me, and a smaller one unsigned. Hey, can we get a picture?”
“SURE!” Stan said. As we stopped in our tracks so Paul could take a shot, Stan turned to my wife. “Jinky! How ya doin'?” he asked, shaking her hand. Then he bent down to my daughter. “Jasmine! Nice to meet you. Are you four now?”
"Uh-huh. Are you Stan Lee?"
He beamed a high-wattage small at her, posed for the pic, then the guard pulled him away.
Tumblr media
Carrying off the package, he said, “Thanks to much for this! Sorry we don’t have more time!” He waved, then he was off to sign for another line full of autograph seekers before racing to the airport.
Think about it: Despite a hectic schedule, Stan “The Man” Lee not only made me feel welcome, he had even recalled my wife’s name, my daughter’s name, and how old she was. (This from the guy people say has no memory!)
When I’m at a Con and flustered or crazy busy and someone wants to talk, this gave me something to aspire to. I'm much more concerned these days about giving each fan, each artist, his/her moment and my full attention.
Oh -- and that Walt Disney/Stan Lee piece we gave him that day?
Tumblr media
Stan kept it displayed in his office.
Tumblr media
So let me wrap this up by saying:  Everything in life builds on everything else. I ran into Al Williamson in a Boston bar back in 1982, struck up a conversation, and he suggested that I submit scripts to David Scroggy at Pacific Comics. That led to my first professional comics script sales.
When something as simple as a chance conversation in a bar with can affect one's life, you can only imagine how decades of Stan Lee affected my life without him ever knowing.
Without Stan Lee's "You're in the club" Mighty Marvel Manner version of Marvel Comics, I'd never have become such a comics fan. I never would have had the goal to work with him in comics and would likely have ended up a pharmacist like my Dad wanted.
I wouldn't have been inspired to read so much, get a communications degree in college, sell my first comics scripts, write for magazines and books, create multiple comics series, work in animation, become an editor and publisher, or become an international comics agent and meet thousands of wonderful creative people all over the world, many of who have become my friends.
That also means I wouldn't have gone to the Philippines to teach Creating Comics Seminars and wouldn't have met budding artist Meryl Calanog. So we never would've gotten married and had Jasmine.
Tumblr media
Without the inspiration of Stan Lee, my life would be completely different and certainly not one filled with such joy.
Thank you, Stan Lee.
For everything.

Tales From RP - Chapter I: The Gundam Regret
Welcome back to the tales of a really bored RPer who wrote a lengthy post about some commonly found RP terms and some basic pieces of advice. I’m still extremely bored out of mind with nothing to reply to, so I decided to take a trip down memory lane. And for the sheer hell of it, I’m going to drag you all along under the pretense of teaching you lessons that’ll help your RP experience.  Today’s lesson? Appreciate what you have. My roleplaying career started on Battle.net after my paternal aunt casually gave me my cousin’s Diablo disc. At first I played only by myself and avoided the online. But after my vacation was over and I was back home, my dad allowed me on the internet with the game. I called myself Cursed_Angel, and didn’t do much at first. Eventually, I found my way to the Town Square channel, which was a stomping ground for people bored out of their mind, and was often where multiverse RP happened.  (Definition time! Multiverse, at least back in those days, meant an RP that combined several different universes at once. So instead of roleplaying exclusively, say, Marvel, you also tossed in Card Captor Sakura, Gundam, Sailor Moon, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc. A Multiverse character is either: a; a character that exists in a multiverse RP, or b; a character who exists in several different universes at once. Example of the latter definition: My character Rin Anderson is a multiverse character. She’s a dimension hopper that is constantly trying to find her way home, and winds up in different universes, where she abides by the rules of that universe and explores it before gaining enough energy to leave again.  Multiverse RPs can be insanely complicated. Each universe has their own core rules, such as different rules on vampires and werewolves, magic vs science, telepathy allowed or not allowed, technology advanced vs Bronze Age equivalent, etc. Generally, if it is a Multiverse RP, it is assumed that the rules exist simultaneously and overlapping, and not at all. Confusing? Yeah, it’s basically a free-for-all. The definition of all of these could have changed by now, but that was, at the time, the definitoins of Multiverse and Multiverse Characters.) For whatever reason, my Battle.net server had a huge following of Gundam fans. We had clans as well, consisting of Gundam characters, mostly from Gundam Wing, and G Gundam. My little Cursed (Yes, her first name was Cursed) was an amnesiac little flower who flitted around with the Wolves, the Gundam Wing crew, the Shuffle Alliance, and even the Zoids pals. Eventually, she gained a Liger Zoid, and a Gundam that used a traditional cockpit as well as the G Gundam cockpit, based on whatever her needs were for fighting, and eventually even the Zero programming in the traditional cockpit. Looking back, I’m actually fairly proud of that achievement. Cursed never claimed to have those off the bat. Those were all gifts given to her by the other RPers. She gained the Zoid after repairing it with the tiny Zoid gang, and her Gundam was constructed for her by Duo Maxwell and Sai Sai Ci. She even ended up as a sixth member of the Shuffle Alliance, though I can’t for the life of me remember what she had. I want to say she was another Joker alongside Argo, and again, this was something the group decided on altogether. I was one of the few OCs to attain items like those without actually Mary Sueing/Godmoding and claiming I had them initially. They were items granted to her by the canon characters that she earned. If I could find a way to revive Cursed, I would. She is without a doubt one of my all time favorite characters, even though I cringe at how preteen Kayla RP’d, and what caused me to retire her.  I mostly interacted with.. I think it was Kyoji_Kashu_, Duo_Maxwell, HeeroYuy SaiSaiChi_, and Domon_Kashu- or something like that. All the hyphens and underscores that RPers could love. We had pretty much a full set of characters and even duplicates, but we were the core players. Domon and Cursed were stalwart allies who fought in several battles together. Duo and Cursed were inseparable and terrifying troublemakers that should have never been left to their own devices, ever. Sai and Cursed bonded as two youngsters, a sibling bond between the two, and it was Sai who installed the additional cockpit into the Cursed Gundam- yes, that’s what we called it- to allow her to use the latex-loving piloting style of G Gundam. Heero eventually grew to treat Cursed like a little sister, and was the one that installed Zero on Cursed during some epic RP plot that I wish I could recall, but I think it came after Cursed ended up piloting Wing Zero when him and Quatre couldn’t.  The character that I enjoyed RPing with the most, however, was Kyoji.  Cursed and Kyoji clashed several times, enemies to the bitter end, as she sought to protect Domon and Rain from him. The fights between the two were pretty epic and Cursed, being the novice, hardly ever won. As we progressed through the plot and we did all that crazy ‘Oh he’s not REALLY evil, it’s just the Gundam!’ bizniz, the two grew romantic. The two had a bond that was incredibly deep, considering how novice of RPers we were at the time. As I grew better at RPing and Cursed’s skills grew from combat- like a proper character, she learned, adapted, and trained hard to become better- I grew cocky.  I ended up betraying my character’s personality. Cursed was a soft-spoken girl, not unlike me myself. I was severely bullied growing up, and had little-to-no confidence. Cursed, meanwhile, was accepted in ways I could never be, and someone that I think in the end, I wanted to be like. I began to project my own insecurities onto her, and twisted the personality of my beloved character into something grotesque. She became arrogant, cocky, full of bravado, when before she was the girl that ran after Domon asking to train, or listened in rapt attention when Heero repaired his gundam.  It wasn’t until I made the biggest mistake of my time RPing on Battle.net that I realized the path I had gone down. Cursed was interacting with Kyoji, and while I never can remember how it got to this point, I clearly remember Cursed boldly saying that she was far too strong to need Kyoji, and he was holding her back, that she was beyond his skill level. She destroyed him, and took off without a care, an act completely out of character for her, driven by my own need to be the best. Even worse, was my cockiness went OOC. I basically told him I no longer needed him, that I could RP with whoever I wanted, and that he was beneath me. That was the first time that I realized that my words could have an impact on the person behind the screen. Kyoji and Domon were played by real-life brothers, and Kyoji stopped logging in on that account. We had multiple accounts that we logged in and out of. I had Rikku from FFX2, a custom named Katsume, and Cursed. (I think at one point I had a Sai Sai Ci as well, and even tried my hand at a Heero. I have files somewhere with my old usernames but I found the e-mails I used to send to my boyfriend asking him to log on when I wasn’t able to, so I didn’t lose them.)  I begged Domon to let him know that I didn’t mean it, that I was sorry. Kyoji logged in once and while we talked, it was clear that he wasn’t going to be coming back, that he was gone.  My favorite RP partner was gone, and I stopped logging in for some time. When I came back, our Wing clan, our Shuffle Alliance, was gone. Sometimes Duo or Sai would log back in, but they had all made new accounts and moved on.  It was never confirmed that I was the cause of it, but to this day, I still believe that my cockiness, my desire to be the best, my ego, broke up the group. When members started leaving, others left with them. We lost some of our most active members because I couldn’t control myself. I wasn’t happy with Cursed as a character, she had to be the absolute best. She had to be more, everything I could never be.  I had an amazing Multiverse RP where my character had achieved what very few OCs could. I had fun, I had friends, and I always had someone to RP with, or play a round of Diablo with. Hell, when I got Starcraft later, I always had someone to play games with.  If there is anything I want those who read this to understand, it’s to be happy with what you have. Be grateful for the partners you have, and remember that they’re people behind a screen. Remember that your words can have an impact, and that someone could become hurt by what you do or say. Don’t try to project your own insecurities, your personality, your ego onto your character. It never works out, and always makes a mess of things.  If you reach the point where you have a community that is full, a community of friends that respect and care for you, treasure that shit always, and don’t let it go. Be apart of it, be respectful, and remember that whatever you do or don’t do has consequences.  And Kyoji, if by some miracle you ever read this and remember Cursed_Angel from Battle.net, I don’t think I could ever apologize enough. I miss RPing with you, and someday, I hope I can find you again so that way, I can tell you how wrong I was to say such things. I was lucky to have you as a friend, and not a day goes by that I don’t regret what I did, or what I lost. Someday, I hope to bring back Cursed, maybe even in a Gundam setting, but I know it will never be as amazing as our crazy, zany plots in Town Square.  As always, feel free to ask if you have any questions regarding RP, or are just bored out of your mind. Next time we’ll be checking out one of the following stories. Got one you want to hear first? Send me an ask and tell me which one you want to hear, or Twit at me on the Tweeter. Otherwise, I’ll pick one at random.  -”Kuroda, Tsunade, and the Best Boyfriend Ever (Not.)” -”When Your Demon from Dragon Age is Ivy from Soul Calibur (Wiki Edition!)” -”All My Characters are Besties and Text All The Time!” -”*Giggle* *Laughs* *Snorts* *Giggles* *Chuckles* *Laughs softly* (…What am I Replying to?!)” -”I Got Out of Hell and Turned Super Saiyajin! (All By Myself!)” -"King Douchebag and the Pink Vanilla Sky” - Starring Fuma Kotaro!  -And many more!

N O
I did guess that maybe something was wrong with your computer/internet connection but after a few days the ridiculous anxiety started punching me in the gut again like ‘what if it was something I said’ or ‘what if something happened and we never get to talk again’..it seems so silly and overdramatic now but I seriously did think those things for a while LOL that’s why I kept sending messages… I’m really sorry for spamming you OTL
And no, don’t apologize! It’s not like you had any control over that. If anything, I should be sorry for freaking out so much  ^^;;
But anyway, that’s enough angst for now. I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK :D
Seriously though, sometimes I wonder what was going through Steve’s head when he decided to keep that suit back in the first CA movie XD
The trailer is really cool. I actually think we don’t need another one; this 'teaser’ seems to reveal just the right amount of info :) (And Loki’s hair has FINALLY stopped looking greasy. I think. I hate greasy stuff (unless it’s food) so that hair was really, REALLY bothering me during Avengers 1 and Thor 2, though I guess it did make sense for his hair to look like that at the time)
I think Marvel’s using the 'Power of Love’ thing to explain Nat being able to calm Bruce down. Doesn’t really make that much sense but I agree, it’s cute :3 I shipped Nat with Clint during the first movie (and the reveal that Clint is MARRIED was a serious 'WTH’ moment) but Bruce/Natasha is good enough that I’m not particularly salty over Mrs. Barton.
Sharon Carter/Steve may be the only ship in the MCU that I genuinely dislike. Civil War would have been perfectly fine without it. Sharon and Steve themselves would have been perfectly fine without it. PEGGY would certainly have been fine without it. Just. Why.
Ah, yeah. TDW both gave me hope for Loki and made me lose a little bit of it at the same time, if that makes sense? The thing with Odin worries me, but since I think I read somewhere that Anthony Hopkins is going to be in Ragnarok I guess he’s not dead, so maybe Loki didn’t do anything TOO drastic…
But we got some genuine emotion from Loki over Frigga and I believe that he WAS getting a bit emotional during his 'death’ scene wih Thor, so that’s something, I guess.
To me, Thor 2 proved that while Loki’s morality might have changed, it hasn’t changed for the better, and he still has way too many issues to work through, but his relationship with Thor isn’t quite ruined yet.
I have a soft spot for The Winter Soldier because it was not only the first MCU movie I ever watched, it was the first superhero movie AND the first 'gritty’ live-action movie I ever watched (I was like nine or ten when it came out and before that the only live-action movies I watched were stuff like The Sound of Music and Cats). I guess I get why you might not like it, though- the only reason I still watch TWS now is because I love Bucky’s Winter Soldier costume (sure, we get to see it in Civil War as well but it just looks really cool in TWS) and because it has some of the best Steve & Bucky moments.
(Also Natasha. Natasha is always a good reason.)
YES. Join me in Remember This Cold hell. The creator even has a blog where they answer questions about the series and write shorter stories connected to it :D Also, spoiler regarding the Steve/Loki relationship-
Steve proposed a few stories ago. I’m sure you can guess Loki’s answer.
Awww, thanks! <3 I’m really glad you enjoyed the playlists ^^ but which songs were the ones you didn’t know? And how did you react to Kanae’s list? :)
(And if it’s not too much, could I also ask which songs you thought were the most fitting? it’s fine if you don’t answer this one though)
Ugh, those weird bots ;-;
Random thing, but I got my nails done for the first time today! :) My little sister really wanted to get her nails painted and mom suggested that I should too…normally I don’t really enjoy dressing up and 'decorating’ myself but I thought it would be fun so I tagged along.
I lowkey wanted black nails because Kaneki and Sebastian LOL but I ended up with sky blue. It does look nice so I’m happy with how it turned out :) though the skin right beneath my right thumbnail still hurts…I got my cuticles cut, the cut was too deep and it wouldn’t stop bleeding for a while ;-;
Last note:
Another random thing, but do you have any OCs? :3 It’s my dream to become a writer someday so I have a ton of them, one cast for a book I’m trying to write and another one for a comic I’d make if I was better at anatomy and knew how to do digital art ;-; maybe someday it’ll work out. If it doesn’t, I’ll just write down that story too… I also have lots and lots of discarded OCs for my fandoms (not all of them are discarded though, there’s one wallflower cutie named Naomi for TG and unfortunately I like torturing her a bit too much to let her go. There’s also her brother Tatsuo, a fabulous jerk who loves his little sister very much, in his own passive-aggressive way, and will serve any poor soul who dares to approach her for dinner).
If you have OCs too maybe we could rant about them together? :) (totally not using this as an excuse to ramble about my babies who I love to hurt. I think I’ve caught the Ishida-virus)
Again, don’t apologize! I’m just really glad you’re back, Queen Luna <3333
Don’t worry, I got this message ^^ (Un)fortunately, I’m that person who’d probably tell someone if they’re annoying me. And you’re not annoying at all! I enjoy talking to you a lot, since you’re one of the rare people who shares so many fandoms with me ^^ So if I don’t answer, it means the internet/phone/computer is acting up, ok? I wouldn’t disappear just like that ^^
I’m glad to be back ^^
Before I forget, the new chapter of TG. The title sure is fitting. ISHIDA’S BACK AT IT AGAIN! ((I mean, who names a chapter ‘suffering’))
Maybe he wanted everyone to look at the behind ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) You never know what kind of weird things he likes. It’s so awkward trying to avoid all the key words for those blogs XD
Ahahahah, he did look like needed to wash it… But it’s solved now ^^ And it’s curly. THE ONLY THING THAT’S NOT SOLVED IS THORS HAIR AAAAAAAAAAAA Why did they cut off his glorious locks ;-;
Nat and Clint did seem like a good ship, but since I watched Ultron before anything, I knew about Clint’s situation. It was a bit weird watching Clint and Nat interact, though, since they do seem very close, and not in a purely platonic way.
Since I haven’t reached Civil War yet, I haven’t seen the ship. Somehow, I know I won’t like it ^^ (I mean, from what you’ve said, it really is a very NO ship.)
TDW Loki for me was the biggest ‘honestly, what was I expecting?’ character in the whole MCU universe, because, honestly, what was I expecting? When he ‘died’ I laughed, because he’s Loki and it’s probably another one of his plans. anD I WAS RIGHT.
Frigga is the only character who Loki showed genuine affection for, though, isn’t she? I mean, since we don’t know her well as a character, I didn’t feel anything when she died, but I did feel sorry for Loki.
I recently found a mythology book that features Nordic mythology. And you have 3 guesses about who the main bad guy is in all of them. I’ll be genuinely disappointed if you need the other 2.
One’s about the making of Thor’s hammer where Loki turns into a fly and stings the blacksmith, causing him to mess up the length of the part where you hold it (I forgot the english name), the other one is about him being responsible for the death of Frigga’s son, because he made someone stab the son with mistletoe.  Mythology is weird.
That’s actually adorable ^^ I never would’ve guessed your first action movie was Winter Soldier!  And I completely agree, Bucky’s costume is quite nice (huehuehuehuheue)
I’m scared of starting to read it….. I THINK I MIGHT WAIT UNTIL I FINISH WATCHING CIVIL WAR JUST BECAUSE :))))
Let’s see… I knew the whole Loki&Thor playlist, All of Loki except for Castle, She keeps me warm from Yumikuri I didn’t know, knew all of Urie/Saiko and Urie and I will not say anything about Kanae :))))
Sweet! I only got my nails done once in my life and that was for my uncle’s wedding. I understand your pain entirely ;-; There’s a reason why I only had them done ONCE hahah For some reason, I associated sky blue with you even before this… Idk why, though
Did someone say…. OCs? You want the older ones (absolute Mary Sues, I laugh about them today, even though I was 100% serious before) or the newer ones (the ones with actual flaws and development?) Also, we probably talked about this before, but have you watched Fullmetal Alchemist? My biggest Mary Sue is from there ^^;;
ALSO ALSO, I was thinking about changing my icon, and I narrowed it down to 4 potential ones. Which one should I choose?
