Explaining Huskerdust slowburn
Huskerdust is one of the most popular ships within the Hazbin Hotel fandom, which started with their first interaction in the pilot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the outset, Angel Dust shows a clear attraction towards Husk, which is evident from his immediate flirtatious behavior upon Husk's arrival as the hotel's bartender. This attraction is not subtle as Angel Dust is overt in his advances, often pushing boundaries. On the other hand, Husk was initially dismissive and annoyed by Angel's flirtations, responding with expletives and a general attitude of disinterest. Yet, this sets the stage for a relationship that promises to evolve slowly over time.
Tumblr media
Although they started off bad, with Husk often finding great irritation in Angel's continued advances, their relationship would begin to deepen as the series progresses.
In the beginning, Husk made it no secret that he was forced to stay at the hotel because of his ties to Alastor and would gladly get as far away as he could if able to. He's addicted to gambling, much the same way Angel is addicted to drugs and sex. He used to be an Overlord but gambled away his bound souls until he got desperate enough to sell his own soul to Alastor.
While his words were poorly timed, pushing Angel's buttons after he'd just suffered a night of abuse from Valentino in "Masquerade", it's hard to deny that Husk is right to be frustrated with Angel's sexual harassment. He's cuttingly accurate when he points out how Angel's lewd and carefree behavior is all a self-destructive act that he hides behind to avoid his problems, and that nobody in the Hotel is particularly impressed with or taken by the front he puts up.
In the episode "Masquerade", a pivotal moment occurs when Husk rescues Angel from a potentially dangerous situation at a club that shows a protective side under his gruff exterior. Afterwards, Husk continues to remind Angel that he can stop his act. However, Angel, shedding tears and expressing his sadness, lashes out at Husk as they argue, explaining he needs to be who he is in order to break himself, both to wash away his misery and escape Valentino.
Saddened by this, Husk helps Angel recognize the parallel misery, which led to them both admitting their regrets and Husk revealing his past as an Overlord to Angel.
Husk getting through to Angel Dust in the manner he does makes a considerable amount of sense when it's taken into account that the first step to overcoming drug addiction is usually getting the addict to acknowledge they even have a problem. Angel hasn't been able to get better despite having some genuine interest because he's been utterly refusing to admit he has a problem to fix, the moment he does his mood drastically improves as does his motivation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The song 'Loser, Baby' became an uplifting melody for Husk and Angel Dust's relationship. It encapsulates the message that while they may see themselves as losers, they aren't alone in their struggles.
The whole song is just "Stop thinking you're special". Some people may see that as a bad message (at first) considering what Angel goes through, but like him, staying in that mindset of "No one knows what I'm going through, no one else knows what it's like to be me, etc." would not be good for him at all as it would create a barrier of isolation. To be clear, the point is that Husk calls Angel a loser because people, especially very hurt people, need to break their cycle of self-loathing somehow. And sometimes, sometimes, people need to hear that they are, in fact, a loser. But that's okay because a lot of other people are too. This is even reflected in the song, with Angel initially assuming Husk is mocking him, but eventually picking up what he's actually saying. The message isn't "You're not special lmao," it's actually "You're not alone in this, and embracing that is a big step in getting out of it."
A small detail many fans have noticed is that whilst Valentino is very forceful with Angel Dust both emotionally and physically, during the song “Loser, Baby,” Husk is never seen grabbing Angel Dust at all during the song, only ever offering his hand out for him to accept. It's apparent that Husk is expressing more interest in Angel Dust, after seeing that he isn't as shallow as he comes off to be. Since then, Angel and Husk have formed a special bond through being vulnerable and honest with each other. But this scene also shows Husk's concern for Angel's well-being, especially when it comes to drugs and a potential relapse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the episode "Welcome to Heaven", Cherri invites Angel and Husk along with Niffty and Sir Pentious to a bar. During this scene, Cherri tries to motivate Angel to take drugs as a way to relieve stress. Husk reminded Angel it would destroy his progress. Husk then admits that Angel succumbing to drugs would really disappoint him. Angel declines the offer, making Husk smile, but later starts heavily drinking, something Husk disapproves of.
This concern is reciprocated when Angel Dust takes care of a drunk Niffty, suggesting a shift from his earlier, more self-centered behavior. The confrontation with Valentino, where Husk is ready to defend Angel Dust, further cements their bond.
Angel was very attracted to Husk and didn't hide it, with his constant boundary pushing flirtation. After being called out for this behavior, Angel not only begins a genuine bond with the cat demon but also stops the annoying, aggressive flirtation.
As they were preparing to fight the exorcists, Husk unconsciously makes a sex comment saying that "Angels won't stop coming", and Angel laughs at this remark. Husk realizes the double meaning of it, and laughs admitting his mistake.
During the bar scene in "The Show Must Go On" an instrumental of "Loser, Baby" plays in the background during Angel and Husks' conversation, which further underscores the hidden depths of their bond. Angel takes Charlie's words to heart about living however you want that night since it may be your last. How does he choose to do it? By simply having a drink with Husk and Cherri Bomb. Husk even notes that he's changed quite a lot since he came to the hotel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, the way he looks at Husk and the little piano reprise of "Loser, Baby" playing in the background. Angel's feelings for him may run deeper than they seem... 😍

ATTENTION HUSKERDUST/ANGELHUSK SHIPPERS! Do I have your attention? Awesome.
Okay, hear me out:
We all understand Angel is going through a lot with his horrible boss, truama, constantly being exploited and such, and the comfort and reassurance and safety and love Husk gives him in the fanart and fics is great, I love that for him, don't get me wrong,..
BUT!
What about Husk's suffering? He's an ex overlord, hates his demon form, owned by Alastor, probably a war vet, and is pretty mentally fucked up too. So I ask:Where is Husk's suffering? When is it his turn to be the walking tragedy, the one needing saving, comfort, protection, and reassurance? When does he get to be huddled in a corner, all vulnerable? I'm not saying I WANT him to constantly go through pain, but maybe a moment where Angel and Husk fall asleep together and Husk has a nightmare? Angel comforting Husk after Alastor gets mad at him? Angel helping Husk with PTSD/shellshock? Angel helping Husk take care of himself? Angel taking care of Husk? THE OLD MAN NEEDS SOME LOVE TOO! All I ask is thay we let Husk be broken too. Pretty please?
EDIT:Turns out he's not a war vet. Removed that part. Whoopsies.
EDIT 2:I'm pretty sure he's a war vet, with how he stands straight when Vaggie uses a military voice in ep 5 and spills coffee on himself, so I'm adding that part back :P

Huskerdust Analysis and Prediction's for Season 2 (Also some goofy headcanons)
Tumblr media
Besides a few writing and pacing issue's I overall fucking loved Hazbin hotel and can't wait for season 2. One of my favorite subplots being Huskerdust now I know some people think of them and prefer more a Mentor and Mentoree type of relationship between them. That's completely valid and I can see that but I think they can still have that with Husk helping Angel overcome more of his trauma but still be a romantic item.
Analysis: We see multiple moments between them of course the main episode between them being episode four where we really explore more of Angels character and his trauma we also see Husk calling Angel out for hiding behind this fake persona to cope with that trauma. Where of course we get the freaking masterpiece Loser, Baby and see them reconcile and bond over their shared and similar pain.
In episode 5 we see a bit more of Husk's issue's with Alastor come up when he confront Alastor about Mimzi. Where of course this leads to Alastor retaliating by scaring the shit out of Husk showing the green chains representing Alastor's hold on Husk's soul and literally leaves him shaking we can really see the deeper and hidden part of their relationship literally like Master and Plaything. Then in episode six we see Angel and Valentino and their confrontation where Angel is standing up for Niffty then leads to him say fuck you to Valentino (as he should fuck you Valentino) then leads to him to smoking the chains around Angel representing Master and Plaything. We can really see their similar, yet different situations and we can see them further even more bond over it in season 2.
That all sets up the rest of their moments for season 1 my favorite being the finale with their small bar scene where can see them looking at each other in some could say flirtatious and entraced manner.
The amazing thing about their relationship and one thing I see that Vivienne did actually great with in he writing is that it can work good as a romance or a deep friendship which both I would be ecstatic for either way. Whether you ship them or not they are still going to mean something to each other romantically or platonically and help each other over come each other's trauma.
Predictions:
With all the signs and hints from Vivienne and within the show itself I expect them to end up in a romantic relationship with each other. Now how I expect this to play out is in two seperate ways that blend together. One way exploring the more serious sides of what they bond over of course their trauma. Seeing Husk helping Angel confront Valentino maybe and digging deeper into Husk's past with Alastor and how Husk may break from that or another way this could go is they end up both still being trapped for season 2 but starting a relationship over their shared bonds, similarities, chemistry, and over all just being good for one another.
The second less serious part of it will I think be Angel trying to ask Husk out. We can see Angel oversexualizing and objectifying himself for others as other's also oversexualize and objectify him all the time to the point he's uses it as mask but Husk as seen in episode four helps break that mask down showing he want's to know who Angel really is not who other's make him out to be and he want's him emotionally and not just sexually.
In turn Angel not being used to this but wanting Husk not just as a one night stand but an actual partner will have trouble asking Husk out. Leading to some awkward moments like with Sir Pentious and Cherry bomb where Angel attempt's to ask Husk out in certain moments but ultimately at the last second fumbling over his words and changing the subject unlike his usual flirting. In the end I think Husk will catch on to this and ask Angel out himself or take a moment to ask Angel to breathe and just to say what he want's to say. Which will either way probably leads to a very cute and romantic date hosted by Husk.
Headcanons:
This is the least serious part of this just some silly and cute things I headcanon for them.
Pet names: I feel like they would use Baby and Doll the most.
Affection: Definitely physical touch but not in a sexual way I think Husk would hold Angel's hand or things like a small kiss or wrapping his tale or wing around him. Word's of Affirmation alot of discrete I love you's and such.
Husk I think would definitely be very protective over angel with cat callers or people oversexualizing him and just in general even though Angel would probably say things like "I can handle myself." Husk wouldn't care and be an overprotective asshole and Angel would act like he hated it but secretly loves it.
They would be jealous in their own ways Husk I would be more open about it like pulling Angel close or glaring at whoever he dislikes. Angel would be more grumble and hide it type but Husk can always tell.
Angel would be a flirt with him but in a more himself way and Husk would sometimes flirt back leaving Angel super flustered
Finally when it comes to sex I feel like consent and bounderies would be immediatly placed to make Angel feel definetly more comftorable to let him know this is because they love eachother and not just to use Angel. Husk would 100% be the top. I feel like their first time would be more intimate and slow but I feel like it could also be that one meme where afterwards the one person flustered just staring at the ceiling over what just happened (Angel) and the other is just also staring at the cieling with his hand behind his head unphased (Husk). Later on I feel like they would try things like BDSM and that stuff but later on in the line.
Anyway, there's my autistic info dump on Huskerdust if you read all the way down you are either a God or neurodivergent . Here's some cookie's for making it this far:

EPISODE 4
Well.......I.....I got what I signed up for.
I got "Poison". That song I've been obsessively listening to since the day it was released. I finally got to see the visuals that went along with that song, and.....now, I don't think I can UNSEE them.
I hope that everyone who watched this episode is safe, and that...that the people who knew this would be too much for them took the warnings seriously, and....and looked away from the show....Hazbin is not a show that everyone can enjoy. It has a very specific audience in mind, and people who are outside of that audience...r-really should've gotten the point before this episode hit, hopefully....
This was a very....heavy episode. And it....did its job. I'm unnerved, disturbed, and holy crap....I just want Angel out of there as soon as possible. He's been through so, so much, and getting even a TASTE of that was absolutely soul-crushing......Valentino NEEDS to get his commupence ON SCREEN at this point. I regret calling him pathetic before, because seeing him through Angel's eyes....I don't wanna downplay how intimidating he can be. We need to see that guy get what's coming to him. I am waiting with baited breath for Angel to have his "2 Minutes Notice" moment now....
Also, anyone who says that Huskerdust will be a relationship built off of sexual harassment is WRONG. I always assumed there'd be more to it than that, so I'm super happy to comfortably ship it now. This relationship got off the ground not off the jokes, but because Husk is the one who sees right through Angel's persona from the word 'go'. He's exactly the type of person Angel needs. Angel is always hiding himself through his persona, and he needs someone to tell him to drop the act and admit that he needs help. And while Angel didn't ask for HELP in this episode, he DID let himself be vulnerable. Which is a big step for him. As well as that fight scene where the two bond, and he says that sex isn't all he's good at.
The thing about Husk being a former overload was something I did NOT see coming at all....I-I knew he made a deal with Alastor, but not that he was an overlord.....And that he still has some power left over from that....That's crazy....You'd think that people would recognize him, like.....Sir Pentious has been around longer than anyone, so why did he need to get introduced to Husk earlier, or did he not- I-I dunno, but...I like that.
The Huskerdust song was....OK. I liked the lyrics more than the music. I was SO worried that these two were gonna be like Stolitz where we're waiting forever for them to talk to each other while they're working on themselves. But in just one episode, they've opened up to each other a bit! No complaints!
N-not really much else to say....this episode was basically nothing but Angel's arc. Alastor is barely in this episode, which was a letdown for me of course....but.....no Alastor also meant I could focus on the other characters a bit better than usual, so it worked out.
What was that about Vaggie hating herself, tho....?
Great episode, hard to watch at times but that was the point, I still adore "Poison", and.....yeah....
I-I guess that's it for now....

How does it feel to be wrong on how huskerdust is “toxic” now that the show is out 😂😂😂
Hi Anon! Firstly, I’ve decided to move away from Viv and her toxic fandom so apologies if this response is late. I must say it is interesting that you’ve lurked so long to do this, and anonymously too.
Angel sexually harasses Husk. Husk sung a song that compares his situation (involving no SA from Alastor) to Angels and calls him a loser and whiny bitch. That’s pretty invalidating to one’s experiences as well as making it all about himself because he’s miserable and unable to deal with it healthily outside of alcohol.
Before you tell me that I’m “misunderstanding” the lyrics like a great deal of rabid fans, let’s just say personal experience gives me great insight to how nasty this comes across. Not to mention no actual build up for the relationship, the points I made about Pilot and IG, etc etc.
I don’t know if you’re one of HunterGirl’s little groupies, if you are, don’t you find it unprofessional that staff allow such toxicity within their fans? Rhetorical. Regardless, it is toxic. It’s poorly written. And that extends to the entirety of Hazbin, Helluva, and Spindle itself plus its community.
So briefly, I was never wrong about the toxicity. If you feel differently, that’s your opinion. But to lurk until this moment to strike, anonymously, is intriguing. Especially since this blog is hardly used.
Regardless, you’re fully entitled to your opinions and feelings, as am I. You’re free to enjoy the show, and hopefully you are enjoying the show. I hope it lives up to your expectations. I hope you have fun. And I do encourage healthier behaviours. We’re polarised. Why should you care about what I have to say - even with personal experiences - if you disagree and wish to indulge? Enjoy yourself and your life. Continue to hold your opinion. I won’t change your mind and you won’t change mine. Maybe this is to “rub it in” but I don’t take it as such. I do recommend a better focus. One that is healthier to you. I’ve drowned in enough of the vitriol Viv and her influence rot. It serves my health no good and she’ll reap as we all do. I suggest you do the same. If you enjoy it, and don’t find it toxic, then relish as long as you don’t behave like a prick. To me, it’s toxic, so I embrace healthier habits. I live my life.
I know this is a massive tangent, but what I’m trying to get across - outside of the question itself - is better influence. The least I can do is present to you good self care. If you enjoy it, enjoy it and stick with those who do. For myself and others who’ve been through trauma, that episode was extremely distasteful (though some felt seen and I will not take from that). So… I simply keep a healthy distance from her shit now. I’ve seen the fandom be the most vile, subtly enticed by the staff. The least I can do is encourage better habits to counter how despicable people have been encouraged to act.
TLDR; I disagree, agree to disagree, please don’t pick up toxicity from the fandom. None of this is sarcasm.

completely agree with your sto-litz vs Husker-Dust analysis- and wanted to add another little thing that just...kills my possible enjoyment of the former even without the horribly abusive context- the show never bothers to show them having a good time together. Never bothered to show them as friends.
Either it's Stolas harassing Blitzo, him being visibly aggravated and....angst. Lots and lots of angst. Like even if that owl wasn't the literal worse why would I enjoy a ship that....doesn't enjoy themselves? Like Hazbin's latter half being so rushed affected all the meaningful interactions- Husk/Dust included- but I still got to see some genuine moments from them post-episode 4 where they were friends- like Angel dropping Nifty on Husk's head and going full "deal with it bro" or them doing target practice together before the war- those little glimpses of comradery and playfulness you see in people that like the other. Y'know, friends.
And when the show DOES try to show them as friends it's just....so bad. Like the whole childhood friends mess that I won't touch with a 20 meter stick and episode 2x2- ie Stolas ignoring his missing child (again) in favor of getting onto his obsession's pants LITERALLY EPISODES after their whole"break up" moment in Ozzies.... these two can't even be friends, how the hell I am supposed to believe they can be a couple? Again, it's just not fun to watch.
Ah thanks anon! Glad you liked it. I know people have issues with H*skerdust and I really do get why as their ship involves a lot of contentious topics. And Hazbin was so so sooooo insanely rushed. You are basically forced to fill in bits using your own head which you shouldn't have to. But, it still works to me.
I think if you're doing unrequited attention -> requited attention in a story then it can be really tricky to get it right. Especially when it involves very sexually charged attention and not more reserved attention. But I'd say that making Angel a forced sex worker who's being hypersexual to cope is a lot better than making someone with immense class power and who is sexually repressed then go crazy and become obsessive about one specific lower class person he met as a kid and had his dad buy him to entertain him likeee ????
Husk sees through what Angel's doing with his act and he sees some of himself and how he is trapped too. So he pushes him to be better and once they reconcile with Loser Baby he continues to encourage Angel to be better and only THEN does he start to reciprocate affection or admiration or any positive kind of feelings, only when Angel changes and shows that he can be something other than a pot of lewd jokes towards Husk. They they reach that moment of understanding. They become happier together. They don't just make each other actively worse. They had angst but they overcame it. I could see them also having further angst potentially yet overcoming it again in a believable way.
While St*litz? Yeah it really is just misery misery and more misery and there's nothing wrong with making a ship that involves misery. The problem is lying to us that a miserable ship isn't miserable. We as the audience see so much damn misery and little else like you said, yet we're supposed to love their ship and believe deep down they're madly in love in a way that can totally be healthy and they're a great end game? They always seem one disaster away from a huge emotional blowout if they're not having sex, and everything constantly being sexual is only adding fuel to the fire of their issues. They have nothing in common. Huskerdust both have addiction issues, soul contracts, seem to like similar things I'm sure Angel would gladly play poker with Husk or they would go bar hopping together etc. While you have a booksy library nerd and then you have a guy who's just not into any of that. And that could still work but they need to establish other things they DO have in common. Right now we've only really seen the differences.
What would St*litz do if hanging out together? I feel like everything St*las would suggest would just have Blitz disinterested and disrespecting it lol. St*las has been obsessed with Blitz since birth like some kind of weird fixation. Love at first sight... as a child? Wtf? That look St*las gives Blitz all blushy as a child is while he knew NOTHING about the actual Blitz and who he is. That's the kind of crush as a child you grow the hell out of to still be thinking about 1 day as a child years later to that extent is insane and not healthy.
While Blitz meanwhile never thought of him again. Then only had sex with him when they met again as adults out of pity after seducing and tying him up to distract him so he could escape his house. And may I also add that St*las put that idea into his head to flirt with the weird "You're here to ravish me" and "nefarious intentions" comments.
Tumblr media
St*las makes this face as he says hes going to take Blitz to his room and handle him. And then says all those comments to Blitz while the two of them are now alone in St*las' bedroom. St*las. Why did you decide to take Blitz to your bedroom. Why did you make that face. Why did you say those comments to someone you had only met as a child for one day and then they broke into your house. Its apparently all not serious, those weird sexually charged comments you began making towards someone you met once as a child and barely knew??? Then. Then why say them at all. Whats the joke? Why would you tell who's basically a stranger alone with you in your bedroom with you a joke like that? That's such a bizzare fucking thing to do.
So then Blitz starts to get physical and flirts back and St*las says he was just kidding with the flirting/jokes (the writing for St*las is so inconsistent and dogshit I s2g) and he tries to back out. In a panic over the book and escaping Blitz keeps going and ignores St*las wanting to back out (fucking GROSS that they wrote Blitz as doing this). Then St*las gives into it? Its just so fucking awkward and gross feeling that entire scene. And its the foundation for their entire adult relationship going forwards. EW. Husk and Angel's foundation is Husk getting him to snap out of being hypersexual and boundary crossing for both their sake's. Blitz and St*las, they never seem to make each other better they just seem to be miserable and constantly lie to each other. They barely seem to know or care what the other wants and needs.
Blitz being around St*las just encourages St*las' insane hypersexual behaviors which bring out the worst in him because yeah those are harassing behaviors and have a weird racial/species fetishizing undertone. For Angel they were a way of pretending he really did like being a sexual object and that's why when Husk called it enough and said he should recognize that his situation is bad instead of trying to pretend he likes it he stopped; Husk wasn't the thing actually motivating the issues. While Blitz absolutely is with St*las, St*las is unhealthily obsessed with him. And that motivates him to abuse his power and to ignore his daughter's needs. St*las shouldn't be around Blitz because it clearly causes him to act in ways which hurt others and himself because he clearly doesn't know how to act right towards Blitz in any capacity. His attraction is not normal or healthy.

oh the times that we believed
More of the fantastic @minky-for-short's human Huskerdust painter and muse au! A bit of plot motived hurt/comfort!
Please reblog and comment over on Ao3 if you enjoyed this!
cw: abuse, sex work, it's Angel Dust working for Valentino and all that implies in canon
-------------
Angel wondered when he’d start believing the things Husker told him.
Some things he didn’t believe and wasn’t supposed to. Husk’s stories from his ragged upbringing on the Strip were clearly bright, shiny pearls formed around small grains of some truth, given to be admired and enjoyed, even if it was artificial. Husk would launch into tales of impossible, artful cons, victories snatched at the last moment thanks to a card up the sleeve, run-ins with the mob where Husk’s life hinged on a dice roll and a mad dash on stage to blend into a big band.
When he told Angel these stories with obvious delight when the younger man laughed until he cried, gasped at just the right moments, hung on his every word, it was like sitting with a younger version of Husk. He’d see the great showman his lover could have been if he’d had quieter demons and more certain luck, the dreams he’d once had that still clung to him, a jacket he’d outgrown a long time ago. Angel couldn’t quite believe any of those stories but that wasn’t the point of a magic show, was it?
It wasn’t those stories that Angel struggled to believe. It wasn’t anything big, really. All the languages Husker could speak, the achingly beautiful art he made, the places he’d been that Angel only knew as names in a book. All that he could swallow easily, he didn’t doubt that he’d found something special in Husk, a man made of dizzying highs and crashing lows and interesting stories, like an antique store in paint-stained shirtsleeves.
The problem wasn’t the big things. It was the little things Husk said that Angel didn’t know how to believe, small handfuls of words he whispered gently or scattered like handfuls of seeds, almost unaware of the blooms they’d grow into inside Angel’s mind.
I remembered those were your favorite flowers. I just worried you might be cold. I wanted to let you sleep, I know how tired you are. We can take a break. I’ve got you. I’m here. I won’t leave.
I love you.
“We don’t have to do this if you don’t want to?”
Angel sighed internally and added it to the list, wishing Husk’s love was as easy to believe in as his lies.
“What do you mean?” he murmured, the question he really wanted to ask but shrunk down small.
“Well…” Husk’s gaze was knowing, though he didn’t mean that as an attack the way most people in Angel’s life did, he didn’t want to know so he could hurt, “You’ve been sitting in that robe for half an hour now, Legs?”
It was news to Angel, though he wasn’t surprised. Time had always been something slippery to him, running through his fingers like water when other people could grasp it and be sure of it. He’d been prone to black outs when he was a child, snatches of time he wouldn’t be able to recall afterwards, only bruises in the shape of his father’s fists and his sister’s fruitless tears to show him what had happened while he was gone. He’d started escaping into them as a young man, using chemicals to open the doors to oblivion, again relying on souvenirs to piece together the story afterwards when it was safe. When it could almost be something that happened to someone else.
And now, brain still slick and foggy from the night before, he wasn’t surprised that he slipped away, not wanting to think about what was going to happen when he took off the robe, when Husk saw what was underneath.
What did surprise him was Husk’s offer.
“But I’m supposed to sit for you today,” Angel’s fingers toyed with the cheap fake fur that edges his robe, worn flat and matted from how long he’d clung to it as his comfort blanket, “Val ain’t paying you to paint me with my clothes on.”
“And if I gave a rat’s ass what Valentino thought, you wouldn’t spend more time in my bed than you do in front of my easel,” Husk pointed out with a wry smile, coming to sit beside him on the sagging old couch in the corner of the studio.
“I’m coming,” Angel insisted, though his voice was wearing so thin the lie showed through, “I’m just tired. Had a late night, that’s all.”
Angel didn’t know who he was kidding, trying to fool a man who’d grown up on the Strip speaking fluent bullshit, who could see the way his hands were trembling, the way he only pulled his robe tighter around him. But Husk didn’t seem angry or even irritated by the feeble attempt, just studying Angel with a careful, warm gaze.
“There doesn’t need to be a reason,” his voice was gentle too, light, willing to play along and pretend this was just going to be a regular day, “If you don’t feel like it, you don’t feel like it.”
“You know what my job is, right?” Angel gave a bitter laugh, staring at his hands, trying to force them to relax and not look so desperate, “You know what my life is?”
“Baby,” that broke Husk’s voice a little, the sadness welling up in the cracks, “You ain’t at the club right now. You’re with me, you’re safe here.”
Another thing Angel didn’t know how to believe, another thing to toss into the chasm between what he wanted and what he could do.
“When are you gonna get sick of trying to convince me?” the words slipped out of Angel, past his better judgment, taking advantage of his bone deep exhaustion and clouded mind, “When are you gonna get tired of saying this shit to me and it not making a difference?”
There was a moment of quiet or at least as quiet as this part of the city got, down to just the riot of horns and curses from the street outside. Angel’s stomach went into a sickening freefall, leaving him burning with self hatred. He never could have anything good in his life without bending it to see when it would break, so he could cut his hands on the jagged edges and tell himself the pain had been inevitable, that he’d been right to expect the worst, that he didn’t have to change because the outcome would always be the same.
“Can I touch you, baby? That okay?”
Angel jumped like a gun had gone off by his ear, the nod shaken out of him before he could think whether it was smart to be honest right now.
Words were hollow at best and weapons at worst but something about the solid presence of Husk’s hand on his shoulder was more certain, something he could trust in. It hurt, of course it did, there was nowhere under his robe where it wouldn’t, but Angel kept it off his face. He knew it would hurt far worse if Husk took it away.
“Short answer, Angel? Never,” each word came slowly, like he was checking it over to make sure it was right before putting it in place on the end of his tongue, “Do I wish things were different, yeah, of course I do. I wish you’d never been hurt the way you have, I wish the idea of me loving you and caring about you wasn’t new. But, fuck, I don’t blame you for that, how could I? It ain’t your fault.”
“It isn’t my fault that Valentino has a contract with my name on it?” Angel took a sharp, ragged breath, whipping around to face him, “I was a junkie long before I met him, Husk. My life was well and truly fucked before he decided to make a profit off it. I signed my body over to him and I meant it, how is that not my fault?”
“Because you trusted him back then,” Husk’s voice grew firm, roots digging deep and refusing to bend under Angel’s attempt to wrench it up, “And I know I’m asking you to do the same for me, telling you I won’t hurt you when that’s all anyone’s ever done. Believe me, the asking don’t come easy either. Before you walked into my studio, I was ready to just drink my way to hell and be done with it. Believing I deserve you, that I got any right to tell you I love you…it’s hard.”
For a wild moment, Angel wished he had two sets of arms, one for the part of himself that burned to shove Husk away, one for the part that ached to pull him close, “So why do it? Why try when it’s so hard it feels…impossible?”
“Because you’re worth it.”
Husk said it so plainly, without hesitation, like he was telling Angel the sky was blue, that water was wet. Like he just knew.
Angel had never had any use for faith, his nonna and his sister had tried to convince him but when he looked at the stained glass, his eyes were always drawn to the snake coiled around the tree, the twisted shapes with horns and claws more than the pure, perfect saints with their palms upturned to the light. Even when he’d been too young to know himself, he had known that when the priest spoke about temptation and deviance and sin, he was talking about Angel. Those were the first words he learned to describe himself and that kind of shame never fully went away.
But when Angel looked at Husk, he saw something in his eyes that could only be faith. Belief for its own sake, belief because it filled a space inside him, because it felt good when so many other things felt bad.
“So I’ll never get tired of telling you I love you, baby,” Husk murmured, “I’ll never get tired of telling you you’re safe here. Whether you believe me or not, it’s true and it’ll always be true.”
“Husk…” tears blurred his vision but he still felt that gaze, anchoring him in place.
He didn’t have the words to finish that sentence, he didn’t know what to call the emotions thrumming in his chest, scared that if he looked too closely they’d crack and fall away. Instead he shrugged out of the robe, letting it turn into a faux silk puddle around his hips, letting Husk see what he’d been hiding from him, why he hadn’t been able to imagine showing him before.
Husk’s voice was strangled, like something was gripping his throat, something not outside but inside, “Angel. Fuck, what did he do to you…”
The bruises had looked bad that morning when he’d dragged himself upright, showering and dressing quickly so he didn’t have to see them, only feel them, but Angel knew they’d look worse now. Husk’s expression, the tremor in his voice, told him enough.
“Apparently some big shot was in the club last night,” Angel’s voice was flat, distant, echoing oddly in his ears like it was someone else speaking, “Someone Valentino wanted to impress. I was headlining like usual but I fell, went down hard. No way to recover.”
He lifted one shoulder, a more misshapen, more natural bruise throbbing like it knew he was talking about it.
“Val was furious,” he closed his eyes against the memory of flashing eyes and bared teeth, smoke pouring out with every curse and cutting word like there was a fire inside his mouth, “I was in for a beating anyway but then…then I made it worse. I told him I’d slipped because my hands were shaking. I wasn’t gonna tell him why, I’d said too damn much already but…but he made me tell him.”
“Tell him what?” Husk prompted gently, not demanding, just giving him permission to say it. Just promising him he’d be heard.
“That it was the shakes. That it was because I ain’t had a hit in…a week?”
It sounded such a small thing to say it out loud, a pathetic, scrambling first step up a mountain that stretched into the clouds. Seven days, seven hard, painful, blinding days, felt like nothing to boast about, a child holding up a shiny candy wrapper and calling it treasure. Sitting here, all Angel could think was how seven days wasn’t worth a beating, not when he was just going to fall off the wagon at any moment.
But Husk’s voice was awed, a tone that would make Angel think of the colorful prayer candles and brightly painted wooden rosary beads in his nonna’s little closet, the place where she carefully tucked her faith and her home away, keeping it safe from their family’s darkness.
“That’s incredible, baby,” he murmured, finding Angel’s hand and holding tight, “I mean, I’m sorry that asshole flew off the handle but, fuck, I’m proud of you.”
Angel gave a dry, bitter laugh but he held on just as tight, “Don’t get used to it, can’t promise it’s gonna last.”
“Don’t matter,” Husk’s voice was as firm as his grip, keeping Angel anchored, “I’m proud of you either way. For doing it and for telling me, for letting me see. I know what it costs you.”
The smile came easily, easier than it had any right to when he was sitting here wearing nothing but the streaks of tears and blooming bruises, “No more than you’re worth, Husk…sorry, I ain’t gonna make a pretty picture today.”
Husk paused a moment before a light flickered in his eyes, a light that took years off him, that turned him into the main character from those impossible bullshit stories.
“Well…I’m sure as fuck not lifting a finger for Valentino today, except to give him a taste of his own medicine,” his eyes slid over to his cluttered workbench, deeply stained with turpentine and oil paints, old whiskey jugs and jam jars filled with water in half a hundred swirling colours, “But I still feel like painting. Work with me here, Legs…”
Angel watched in bemusement as Husk began loading the coffee table with half crushed tubes of paint, watercolor palettes that had wept half of their pigments away, his most delicate brushes. He navigated the chaos of his studio almost without thinking, always knowing what he needed and where to find it, even if he never put it down in the same place twice.
“The hell are you doing, handsome?” Angel tilted his head, putting his arm out when Husk gestured, without even thinking because he just didn’t need to.
“Trying something new,” Husk sat beside him, dipping a feather light brush into water, then pressing it to a square of dusty pink paint until the horsehair drank the color, until it looked like a flower bud, “Call it inspiration.”
“Like I’m your muse?” Angel flashed him a grin, knowing Husk thought his gold tooth was hot.
“Like you’re the love of my life,” Husk gently touched the tip of the brush to his skin, “Let me know if it hurts…”
It didn’t, the brush was as delicate and gentle as Husk’s own fingers, like it really was an extension of him. A few strokes and that bud bloomed into an orchid on Angel’s skin, with a burn scar in the center. Suddenly it wasn’t where Valentino had pressed the smoldering end of his cigarette to wrench the confession out of him, it was something beautiful.
“It won’t last forever,” Husk murmured, eyes holding Angel’s, “But neither will the hurt. Either way you’re beautiful and either way, I love you.”
“I love you too,” Angel’s voice trembled along with his hands, making the orchid dance as if in some breeze, “Can you do more of them?”
Husk raised his knuckles to his lips, “Fields of flowers. A galaxy’s worth of stars. Moons and suns and whatever the hell else you want, baby. I can’t give you much but I can paint you the universe.”
“I’ll take whatever you’ve got,” Angel laid his head against Husk’s shoulder.
He said it wasn't much but to Angel, it felt like everything.
Every scar, every bite, every bruise was given something beautiful. Some got flowers until Angel was wearing a necklace of them, some became clouds in a sky that began as daylight at his fingertips and ended at night by his shoulder, with every color in between. Dragons curled around some, guarding them fiercely, planets orbited around others and made them the core of distant solar systems.
Husk painted almost without thinking, like he was letting whatever he felt for Angel spill out through his brush, giving him a hundred other stories than the ones the bruises told. He made him a fae prince with garters of wisteria on his thighs and serpents curled around his wrists, a young god with the world in his palm, a literal angel with a folded pair of gorgeous wings on his back. He was right, they wouldn’t last, but Angel knew he’d always remember. Nothing was going to take this from him.
And while he painted, almost as great a gift as the escapes he was offering, Husk listened. He seemed to know which scars to ask about and which to let lie, which ones to frame and which ones to cover. Angel told him about the jagged slash on his back, the bullet that had whizzed overhead while he crouched behind a bar in France, after the drag show he’d been performing in went to shit when an enemy soldier felt the knife strapped to his thigh. He told Husk about the pinhole scar on his ear from his very first, very stupid attempt to pierce them, the one that had ended with his sister bending him over the sink and holding her favorite scarf to his ear until the bleeding stopped. He showed him the bump in his nose, where he’d fallen on his face, smack bang into the sidewalk, right off his very first pair of high heels.
Husk might have been a showman once upon a time but he’d clearly spent a lot of time in audiences too. His laugh was a smoky wheeze, like an accordion with a hole in the bellows, and he used it at just the right moments. He asked the right questions, he groaned and gasped and chortled and made Angel feel as though he was standing on a stage, bringing the house down. And all while he wasn’t wearing a stitch of clothing, with Husk crawling all over him to paint his chest, his back, down to his ass and between his thighs. It tasted like relief, to be naked but not offered up, to be exposed but not sexualised, touched but not grabbed. He loved when Husk fucked him, of course he did, but it was nice to know it didn’t have to be an inevitability, something to make him feel more powerful rather than powerless.
Angel didn’t think there was an end to his scars but, by the time the sky outside was bleeding orange, he was standing in front of Husk’s dusty mirror, a completed work of art. Every mark on his skin, from his childhood to last night, was decorated and adorned and loved. He would cry but he didn’t want his tears to ruin the sets of bright, golden eyes Husk had painted on his cheeks.
Instead he choked out, “Thank you…fuck, Husk, thank you so much…”
Husk wiped smudges in half a hundred colors off his hands, eyes warm and admiring, “Should be me thanking you, baby. You let me help.”
“Now that I don’t believe,” Angel reached out and snagged his collar, pulling him into the frame of the mirror so he could look at himself and Husk at the same time.
“Listen…there was something else I wanted to give you, not that you need to take it,” Husk’s voice softened, eyes ducking and an honest to God blush darkening his cheeks, “You tell me if I’m being an old fool here…”
Angel paused, watching his lover’s expression in the mirror, struck with the sudden sense that the ground was about to shift beneath his feet.
“Ever since you introduced me to your friend, Charlie?” Husk cleared his throat, suddenly sounding like he was reading from a prepared speech, “She commissioned me for a couple paintings of her girl, the mean eyed one.”
“Vaggie?” Angel chuckled, “Yeah, she said she was going to. She’s a generous girl, huh? A toff but she’s nice about it.”
“Real fucking generous. I ain’t had pricetags like that since before I blew it all,” Husk admitted with a small, almost disbelieving laugh, “But…it got me thinking. Between what I’m getting from that asshole Valentino and your friend…well, your contract with the club has to have a price attached, right?”
Angel’s heart sank with the bitter, shameful taste of a dream he’d been a fool to believe in, “Yeah. It was a fortune when I first signed it and it’s only gotten bigger every year. Val finds any excuse to add to it, room and board, make up, costumes, the fucking drugs. When I was younger, I thought maybe one day…but it’s impossible.”
“Not for me.”
The reflection wasn’t enough anymore, Angel turned and looked at Husk, jaw slack, eyes wide, “What?”
“I could give you the money to buy your contract out from under that creep,” Husk’s voice steeled, a fierce determination bolstering it, “Then you wouldn’t have to live with him, you wouldn’t have to work at his whorehouse calling itself a nightclub. You’d be able to get clean, you could find a new job or, hell, you could still strip but it would be on your terms. And he wouldn’t be able to say shit. And…you could leave the city. Get away from all this.”
Husk’s voice stumbled at the end, the words clearly paining him but he said them anyway, not flinching from Angel’s gaze.
It was a fantasy, an impossibility, like the things he’d painted on Angel’s skin. And in spite of himself and the life he’d lived, in spite of every second that had come before this one, all Angel could do was ask for more.
“Or?” he prompted, his voice a whisper like it was scared to be heard.
Dawn broke in Husk’s smile, “Or…I buy the apartment above my tiny, shitty studio. It’s also tiny and shitty but it’s got enough room for two people. You move in, I succeed in pulling my career out of the gutter and give you the chance to build a life you actually like. I make you coffee and flapjacks every morning, you make me your nonna’s recipes, we go out dancing, I drag you to art museums, you make me go to the ball game. And…and I guess we live happily ever after?”
“I guess,” Angel smiled, feeling his heart crack open, all the hope he’d been so scared of rushing in, “I want that, Husk. God, that’s all I want.”
“Then let’s go get it, baby,” Husk drew him close, his embrace smudging the paint but it didn’t matter, this dream meant more.
Maybe it was just a daydream. Maybe it was one of those stories too fantastical to really believe, the work of a Vegas showman, a beautiful con, the throw of a dice. Maybe it was another escape into oblivion, an idea that would melt away like a high. Maybe it would fade into a scar or blur like paint under a thumb.
But Angel didn’t care. If it did fall apart, the way everything had before, he’d still say this feeling had been worth it.
Angel realized now, he didn’t have to wait until he started believing the things Husk told him. He had to choose to believe in them.
That's what made it faith.

ROSEVERSE OST VOLUME ONE
Contains the inspo tracks for the first three fics in Roseverse. Also has liner notes under the cut because I have to explain some of these.
One Good Reason- Eric Stuart Band This is basically the song that inspired the things you hold most dear may not survive another day and kinda remains the main theme for Huskerdust in this first part of the series.
The River Won’t Flow- Songs for a New World So some of the songs on this playlist are not necessarily here because they fit moments, but because in my undying dedication to canon accuracy as close as I can manage, there’s moments where I’m like “SONG GOES HERE.” And in lieu of writing my own (because I can’t), I just flailed around until I found a song that fit the “vibe.” In this instance, this specific vibe this song offers suits a song about Lucifer reacting to the suggestion of sealing his powers and how this will showcase his humility (while hinting that he is EXTREMELY HUMBLED BY EVERYTHING).
Nobody’s Side- Scott Coulter I have so many covers of “Nobody’s Side” and not a damn one of them really fit the vibe I wanted here, so I just dropped the least offensive option. In an ideal world, a technoswing version of “Nobody’s Side” would be sung when Husk confronts Alastor about being Angel’s bodyguard.
Brave Face- Delta Goodrem Just a cute little song for the Chaggie moment in Chapter One.
Lithium- Nirvana I was going through a playlist of songs with sick guitar riffs and just was like “Yeah, Adam in the middle of a rage depression playing Nirvana on his guitar is fully what I wanted from that scene.”
Comfort Eagle- Cake This is simultaneously the perfect song to be playing in the background for the Adam and the Vees confrontation, but also god I want a musical number between Adam and Vox that is basically Comfort Eagle But Broadway.
The Fool- Ryn Carver Angel and Husk’s conversation as they leave the hotel in Chapter Two.
Kiss Quick- Matt Nathanson More Huskerdust pining, but now they’re at the porn studio.
VBS- Lucy Dacus Vaggie and Lucifer’s conversation in Chapter Two.
A Good Man Is Hard To Find- Bessie Smith Alastor at the end of Chapter Two in Eve’s domain.
Bottom of the River- Delta Rae Alastor’s flashback.
Hell on Heels- Pistol Annies Meet Eve! She’s awful!
The Lamb- Dessa Husk and Alastor’s conversation in the radio tower.
The Judgment- Elvis Costello Husk stands up for Angel.
Don’t Say Yes Until I Finish Talking- Christian Borle and the cast of Smash Another one of the “I just want a song here and can’t write one.” This song is actually specifically invoked in the prose even. In an ideal world, a song with this exact rhythm and sentiment would be performed by Vox (and occasionally Val trying to get a word in edgewise) during the confrontation at the studio. Bonus points for being sung by Vox’s VA.
Doing the Best That I Can (Escape From Berlin)- Stevie Nicks Husk and Angel’s “not-a-date.”
You Are the Problem Here- First Aid Kit Eve and Adam at the end of Chapter Three
The Rhythm of Life- Sweet Charity ONCE MORE WITH FEELING. This song does not fit the moment, but it’s the specific energy I want from a Vaggie and Angel number about her training him to take charge in the escape room.
We Both Reached For the Gun- Chicago Honest to God, the Radio Duel between Lucifer and Alastor is supposed to be this, but I could not write it out in the way I wanted without being obnoxious, but trust me that is what it’s supposed to look like.
Secondary Characters- title of show Bonus track of Chance and Diana realizing they’re the main characters while Husk and Angel are trapped in the closet.
Work Your Way Out- Ani DiFranco If you want to give yourself heart palpitations, listen to this song while reading the scene of Husk and Angel in the closet. It’s great.
All For Believing- Missy Higgins More Husk and Angel pining at the end of Chapter Four.
Feeling Good- Nina Simone Casino Demon theme.
A Tisket, a Tasket- Ella Fitzgerald On the Sunny Side of the Street- Ted Lewis Wishing (Will Make It So)- Vera Lynn
These are the three songs playing when Husk visits Al in his room, chosen for specific reasons. The first is for dissonance since it’s a silly little song that starts us off on something that is meant to be intimidating and creepy. The second- also for dissonance- is a friendly, cheerful song to play over the tension of Husk and Al’s conversation. The final song is indicative of Husk’s mental state.
Shape of My Heart- Josh Groban, Leslie Odom, Jr. In my head the Huskerdust sex scene would turn into a more reserved fantasy as the two of them distance themselves from the fact that they are, you know, on camera by singing a duet. Honestly, this song works almost perfectly for it with the card motifs without having to just hold it up for vibes.
Gunning Down Romance- Savage Garden SONGS FOR HUSK RUINING EVERYTHING.
Two Evils- Bastille My DM once played me this song at a pivotal moment in the narrative we were running and it’s stayed with me ever since. It’s got the perfect ambiance for Alastor and Husk’s conversation at the diner.
This is Gonna Hurt- Sixx AM Angel in the limo at the end of Chapter Five.
End of the World News- Tom McRae I imagine this song playing over a montage of scenes at the top of Chapter Six in the aftermath of Angel’s defection.
Capital G- Nine Inch Nails Adam’s broadcast.
Don’t Scare Me Papa (Axeman’s Rag)- Squirrel Nut Zippers Song specifically invoked by Alastor because he’s a nerd.
Holding Out For a Hero- Bonnie Tyler SIEGE OF VEE TOWER LET’S GO.
Wreck- Mieka Pauley Eve at the end of Chapter Six.
Candleburn- Dishwalla Lucifer at the top of Chapter Seven. Everyone cry.
Someone to Fall Back On- Jason Robert Brown Husk and Angel, the morning after.
Eat Them Apples- Suzi Wu Jez, who is absolutely NOT Eve, even though her theme seems to have so much Eve related imagery. Cannot imagine that’s relevant.
bury a friend- Pomplamoose Alastor gets his shit dragged out in front of everyone and Charlie gets her feelings hurt. (Thanks Eve.)
Secret- Denmark + Winter Vaggie and the gang at the diner learning all the Unfortunate Things.
Sabbath Incantation- Thom Yorke Charlie and Jez and the seal.
Case of the Ex- Mya Eve’s ascension and Adam’s death.
Walk Through the Fire- BtVS Cast This is my “Charlie drags herself out of the ruins of her dream” song as the gang prepares to face Eve. Obviously it’s not beat for beat perfect, BUT IT’S THE VIBE.
Nothing Left to Lose- Jeremy Jordan, Eden Espinosa This on the other hand… Listen, I wrote that conversation between Lucifer and Eve with this song in mind. In my heart, it’s being sung between them in that moment, only with slightly different lyrics.
I Didn’t Know I’d Love You So Much- Repo! The Genetic Opera See above. Literally wrote Charlie and Lucifer after Lucifer gets STABBED with this song in mind.
No Return- Craig Wedron, Aanna Waronker EVE FIGHT TO THE TUNE OF THE TOXIC FEMININITY THEME.
Wings- Birdy Charlie’s ascension + the power of love.
Forget About the Blame (Moon Version)- Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Lzzy Hale Lilith returns.
Last Exit to Eden- Amanda Marshall Aftermath, which does include Alastor eating Eve so that’s fun.
You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive- Kathy Mattea Six months later. I went through so many damn covers of this song for one that fit.
We’ll Meet Again- Vera Lynn And here we are in red, red roses and dead things. This is the Vera Lynn song Al plays for Charlie as he’s giving her the tour.
Weeping (w/ Ladysmith Black Mamba)- Josh Groban Lucifer trying to help and FAILING.
I Never Promised You a Rose Garden- Lynn Anderson Or “lyrical dissonance my beloved.”
Fingerbreaker- Jelly Roll Morton The Chicago Strut- Jelly Roll Morton, Gregory Hines, Keith David The two songs that Husk and Al perform while getting sloshed. I don’t think the second one has a sax in it at all but I’m Bad At Music. It does have Keith David though!

Word Count:  3.4k+
Pairing: Husk x Angel Dust (HuskerDust/AngelHusk), slight Angel Dust x OC
Summary: “Give him everything but your ass.” Angel Dust was tasked with one job: convince the investor to subsidize Valentino’s agency. Angel was more of a closer to Valentino, enticing the wealthier of his associates into funding projects for him. However, this latest pitch didn’t go as planned and Angel’s hubris prevented him from seeing the potential drawbacks of a one night stand with someone Valentino marked. In this slow burn love story, Angel must confront the worst parts of himself if he is going to win back his career.
Content Warnings: Rated 18+ for foul language
Author's Note: I'm gonna be honest, I almost forgot to post this because I was too busy watching the ATLA Reboot on Netflix. Anyway, enjoy!!!
Tumblr media
Tezan moved through the crowd outside like a hot knife through butter. His hands were in his pockets, his gait was brisk, and his eyes were locked on his target. A couple yards ahead of him, he saw Spitzers. Tezan had been keeping a close eye on him in between meetings at Jullien’s and his busy schedule after he left the office. Tezan lifted his hand out of his pocket and took a look at his watch. They were making great time.
Spitzers was currently on his way to lunch–but he wasn’t sure why he felt the need to rush. While this pace might have been perfect for Tezan, Sptizers was struggling a bit. He wiped at the sweat on his brow as he stopped at a crosswalk. Tezan stopped a few feet away from him, standing directly behind a couple of hellhounds.
Spitzers checked his watch and he seemed a little apprehensive.
Just where are you headed? Tezan asked himself.
Within a few minutes, Tezan’s question was answered as Spitzers made his way into an italian restaurant. Tezan quickly followed, making sure that he kept his eyes on where Spitzers was seated.
“Lunch for one?” The hostess at the front desk asked.
“Yes please, and if possible can I get a booth? I have some work I’d like to get done while I eat.” Tezan gestured to the laptop bag he’d slung around his arm.
The hostess smiled, “Sure, it’s not too busy today.”
She led him back into the belly of the restaurant and stopped in front of a booth a few tables away from where Spitzers was seated at a table. He smirked to himself–he had the perfect view.
“Hale will be by to take your order.”
With that, the hostess left. Tezan perused the menu, looking up at Spitzers occasionally. After a few moments, Tezan saw a familiar face sit down next to him. His eyes widened, and he struggled to listen to their conversation over the ambient music playing in the restaurant. Why was Spitzers meeting with that hack, Brut? Tezan strained his ears.
“Working with someone like you…
…honored, really, but why?”
They went back and forth for a while, with Tezan only hearing bits and pieces. He grew frustrated quickly.
“Hello there, I’m Hale and I’ll be your server today,” Hale said with a plucky customer-service-smile. “Do you know what you’d like to drink?”
“A glass of water, three lemons. And I’d like to place my order while I’m at it.”
Hale got his pad and paper ready, “Sounds good to me.”
Tezan took no time to order, hoping that by ordering ahead he could keep his server’s visits to a minimum. When Hale left, he pulled out his laptop and attempted to dissolve into the room. From the bits and pieces Tezan overheard–it appeared that Brut was a necessary addition to Spitzers’ team. Spitzers was pulling out all the stops to woo Brut: a sign-on bonus, a lengthy contract, and most importantly a great percentage of any revenue.
Tezan listened closely as their lunch concluded. By the time Tezan finished his order Brut was already excusing himself. They exchanged a hearty handshake–it appeared that Brut had added a stipulation which was why no contracts were signed during their meeting.
After paying, Tezan waited for Hale to collect his dishes before he grabbed his laptop and made his way over. Spitzers was doling out cash when Tezan sat at his table. Spitzers was surprised, but not alarmed.
“Working lunch?” Tezan broke the ice. “I'm here for business as well.”
“I don't believe we've met,” Spitzers said, eyeing up Tezan. “You are?”
“Tezan. I invest in agencies,” he gave him a knowing look. “Much like yourself.” Tezan offered up his hand in greeting.
Spitzers shook his hand. “I'm afraid my investing days are over, so I'm afraid we don't have much to discuss here.”
“Oh, but we do,” Tezan smiled. “I've been following your career even before your blacklist. I was investing in the same business as you in the lower rings.”
“I see,” Spitzers nodded. “An apology is due then for not recognizing you.”
Tezan waved him off. “I never really attended any of the meetings, some of the guests rubbed me the wrong way.” Tezan made a face remembering Berkeley’s shit-eating grin. He leaned his elbows on the table. “What I'd really like to discuss is why you've decided to cut off your business in the lower rings altogether.”
Spitzers took a sip of his drink, considering Tezan’s question. Tezan watched him closely, looking for any signs of resistance to his inquiries.
“I see I have an admirer.”
“Was I that obvious?” Tezan chuckled. “It's just that I've suffered from Val’s blacklist myself and I'm struggling to find my footing.”
Spitzers nodded. “Well, any advice I have you surely are already aware of?”
Another server collected Spitzers money and left them to chat a moment.
“Investing in lower levels, yes. But I was surprised to learn that you began investing in Valentino’s current director, Mr. Jullien.”
Spitzers began eyeing Tezan carefully. He smiled, watching his opponent with rapt attention. “I'm afraid my proposal was rejected, I believe my advice would hinder your progress instead of help you.”
Tezan took note of his lie. While any other person would take his comment about being rejected at face value, Tezan knew the truth. He also thought that it was peculiar for Spitzers to eliminate himself as a reliable advisor. It seemed that he was being evasive–but Tezan relished a challenge.
“I believe you're doing the best you can,” Tezan said, waving off Spitzers comment. “I have to admit, I never would have thought about going after his allies in the industry. He made an enemy of the wrong person, that's for sure.”
Spitzers began busying himself with tidying up the table. “What makes you say that?”
“You haven't heard? Val cut off all ties with Mr. Jullien. Looks like anyone that works with you gets shafted.”
Spitzers remained calm, choosing to stack dishes atop each other instead of responding.
“But that's what's brilliant about you. By making enemies of his friends, you make friends with his enemies.” Tezan chuckled. “Like, for example, those he's blacklisted already.”
Spitzers looked up at Tezan, meeting his eyes. “What are you suggesting?”
“I'd like us to become allies. Like you, I have worked hard to establish myself and having some whore ruin everything…” he trailed off. “Let's just say, I'm as excited about putting Valentino out of business as you are.”
Tezan rose from his chair, and rifled through his laptop bag. He extended a business card to Spitzers.
“Think about it,” Tezan said before sauntering off.

Husk sighed deeply as he slapped his rag onto the bar once again. He’d cleaned away any residue within the first few dozen swipes, this time it was merely to give himself something to do. His shift started an hour or so ago and he’d done just about all he could think of to pass the time. He organized the bottles of liquor, wiped them down and prepped the fruit for the day. In between these tasks, he’d look at the door of the hotel and wonder just when Angel Dust would return from work.
Husk slapped the rag back onto his shoulder and leaned against the bar. His eyes went to the door again. He sighed again and wondered if maybe he should take Fat Nuggets on a walk. Husk clearly had too much energy–which was currently being wasted hanging around an empty bar. In truth, Angel was the only one keeping him company these last few months.
“Excuse me,” a voice called from the door of the hotel.
Husk looked up quickly, eyes going to the owner of the voice. He saw a sinner walking towards him, clad in expensive looking formal wear. Husk raised an eyebrow, “What do ya need?”
“I’m looking for someone,” the gentleman said. “I heard they were staying here.”
“Name?”
“Angel Dust,” he said quickly.
Husk narrowed his eyes at him. He inspected him closer. He looked well-off, from money most likely. For a moment, Husk wondered whether or not this was the investor that was giving Angel the creeps.
“He’s not here right now,” Husk said, and whatever customer-service voice he’d put on was long gone now. “Bye,” Husk turned around.
“I think it’s best we aren’t seen together,” the gentleman said. “Could I leave a message with you?”
Husk looked at him, assessing just what business he could possibly have with Angel. “Fine,” he grumbled.
“Please tell him that I took his advice about buying a bottle of Brut, but the winery may be closing. He’ll have to hurry if he wants a sip.”
Husk narrowed his eyes, wondering just what this fucker was on about. “Anything else?”
The sinner came closer, looking around the lobby as he did. “I will be waiting at this address two days from now at noon,” he slid a scrap of paper towards Husk.
Husk grabbed the paper and tucked it underneath the bar. “I’ll be sure he gets the message.”
“Thank you,” the gentleman said, giving Husk a polite smile.
The sinner walked out without another word, wasting no time climbing into his car and leaving. Husk wondered if he was wrong–perhaps that wasn’t the investor that was bothering Angel at work. If so, then who could he have been? And what was with that weird message?
Husk grumbled to himself, intent on leaving well-enough alone. He gave the door to the hotel one last glance before deciding that it was time for a walk. Husk wasted no time making his way to Angel’s room. Maybe after a walk around the block with Fat Nuggets he’d be less antsy.
Tumblr media
Angel Dust burst through the doors of the hotel, his arms full of merchandise from his latest shopping trip. He trotted over to the bar quickly, his sunglasses slipping from his face.
“Husky,” Angel cooed, throwing his things all over the bar. “Guess what?”
Husk looked at Angel, then towards the plethora of bags he’d cluttered the bar with. “Someone left you in a store unsupervised?”
Angel pushed his sunglasses upwards and into his hair to keep them in place. “Ha ha,” Angel said, “I bought some things to celebrate the news I heard today.”
Husk leaned on the bar, a smile spreading across his face. “Oh?”
Angel sat down on his stool and tried to calm himself down. But it was clear that Angel was far too excited to contain himself. “It’s the best thing ever,” Angel exclaimed.
“You booked another role?”
Angel Dust shook his head, “Nope, although it will probably get me a ton of more work. I need a bay breeze stat,” Angel requested, tapping the bar heartily.
“Are you gonna tell me what happened?” Husk asked, putting together his drink like the servant he was.
“I have been nominated for that award I was talking about!” Angel squealed. “Val attended the nomination announcement–and he said that I was nominated for the Best Male Performer Award!”
Husk smiled as he slid over Angel’s drink. “Holy shit, that’s amazing. When will the winners be announced?”
Angel took a hefty sip of his drink, humming his approval as he did so. “The awards will be given out a few weeks from now. If I win, I’ll be buried in scripts and proposals!”
“I’m rootin’ for ya, kid,” Husk chuckled. “Congratulations.”
Angel smiled softly, like he was shy all of a sudden. He turned to the right, to all of the stuff he bought. “Since I was nominated, I went out and bought a few things to wear for the award ceremony.”
“A few things?”
“Hush Husky,” he waved him off. “You just have to see this dress in the light,” Angel said, holding up a bag. “It sparkles.”
“You’ll have to model everything for me,” Husk said absentmindedly as he prepared himself a drink.
“That was a given, Husky,” Angel shot him a look.
Angel Dust took another sip of his drink, done with fretting over his bags. “So, what all did you get up to today? Pay Beck and Belise a visit?”
“Nope, they’re dead to me. We just went to the park and back.”
“I’m glad you can get out of the hotel, it must suck having to man the bar all the time.”
Husk shrugged, “It’s not that bad,” he said. “Although the occasional weirdo does pop up.”
Angel shot him another look. “You better not be talkin’ about me.”
Husk chuckled. “No, not this time.”
“Oh? Who graced your presence today?”
“Some rich guy,” he said. “He was looking for you actually.”
Angel Dust looked at Husk curiously. “That’s weird, I wasn’t expecting anyone.”
“Yeah, he left a message for ya. Something about taking your advice and buying a bottle of Brut. Apparently the winery is going out of business though so he told you to hurry if you wanted some.” Husk said, trying to remember everything he said. “I didn’t know you were that into wine.”
“I’m not,” Angel said quickly.
“He said he wanted to meet, I have the address right here.” Husk said, putting the scrap of paper he was given onto the bar.
Angel’s expression stiffened and Husk caught wind of it.
“What’s wrong?”
Angel took a long inhale, trying to avoid Husk’s gaze. “Oh, um, nothing,” he smiled. He took a long sip of his drink. He sat there for a moment, realizing that the weirdo that came to the hotel today was Spitzers. And it seemed that the message he left with Husk was actually a warning.
Spitzers was taking Angel’s advice and starting his own agency. He’d likely signed Brut on, but what did he mean by the winery closing? Did that mean that his business was in danger? Was he warning Angel that his suggestion might have been bad judgment on his part?
“Angel,” Husk prompted again. “He’s not that creep you were tellin’ me about right?”
Angel shook his head, taking a deep breath. “No, he’s someone…different. A colleague, I guess.”
Husk took note of everything Angel wasn’t saying in that moment, no doubt. Angel wondered if he should be more forthcoming with information, but in order to get into everything, he’d have to revisit what was probably the shitiest decision he’d ever made. For some reason, having Husk know about that was a little hard for him. It was one thing for him to know about his career, his risque behavior–but another thing entirely for him to know about the worst parts of himself.
Angel plastered a smile onto his face, “When did he say he wanted to meet?”
“Two days from now, at noon.”
“Well, I guess that’s one way to ask for a date,” Angel chuckled to himself, “Now that I’m an AVN nominee, they just can’t get enough of me.”
Husk made a noise in the back of his throat. “Yeah I bet,” he said.
He brought the Manhattan he made to his lips and took a sip. He made a face.
It tasted terrible.
Tumblr media
Angel Dust waited outside the gentlemans club, snuffing out his cigarette on the bottom of his boot. It was almost noon, which meant he’d have to go inside soon or else he would be late. And this was a meeting he did not have the luxury of missing. He wanted to know just what Spitzers meant with his warning–he had to know. Which was why he was risking everything for this meeting. If someone–anyone–from the business caught him here, there would be little he could do to stop Valentino from finding out.
He already blacklisted Spitzers for their little escapade, Angel could only imagine what Val would do to him if he caught them meeting in secret. Angel looked at his phone for the time. Fuck, he thought to himself before pocketing his phone. He took a deep breath and walked inside.
He’d never been to this club before–it wasn’t his scene. This club was for smoking cigars and drinking scotch–something that Angel was not known for. Ripping a line of coke off the back of a toilet and grinding on the dancefloor–yes. But Spitzers picked this location for a reason, and Angel hoped that whatever conversation they had here would stay here.
When Angel opened the heavy oak door to the club, he was alarmed at how dark it was inside. The whole room was bathed in an amber glow, and all the curtains were drawn. Angel walked past the arch of the doorway and into a large seating area. There were end tables lined with boxes of cigars and an entire bar on the opposite side of the room.
But, what really caught Angel’s eye was Spitzers tapping away on a laptop in the corner of the room.
“I got your message,” Angel said, sitting on the lounge chair a few feet away from Spitzers.
He closed his laptop and turned towards Angel, “I have to admit, I was worried about leaving it with that bartender. He’s terribly unfriendly.”
Angel tried to hide his amusement from Spitzers. “That’s just Husk,” he waved him off. “Nice digs by the way, one heck of a meetin’ place.”
Spitzers gestured to the room around them. “This is one of my newer investments. I obtained it through an associate of mine. I figured it the best place to keep things…discreet.”
Angel nodded. “Less discreet than showin’ up at my place, that’s for sure.”
Spitzers shrugged. “It wasn’t a decision I made lightly.”
Angel crossed his legs at the knee. “What got you so worried?”
Spitzers’ face went grim. “Are you familiar with a sinner named Tezan?”
Angel’s eyes narrowed, “He used to be an investor for Valentino–but he didn’t last too long.”
“He accosted me after my meeting with Brut, he wanted to join forces, perse.”
“Join forces? For what?”
“He seems to believe that I’m attacking Valentino’s allies to undermine him. He wants to get revenge for being blacklisted.”
Angel Dust bit his lip, knowing exactly why Tezan would seek revenge in the first place. It was clear that Spitzers was in the dark about the full situation–and he definitely wasn’t going to share with him the more intimate details of Tezan’s grudge.
“He’s gathered quite a lot of information about me, which means he might not be far off from discovering my real intentions.”
Angel let the gravity of his words sink into his skin. If Tezan was aware that Spitzers was attempting to start his own agency, they’d be fucked. If Tezan were to bring that information to Val, everything would be over.
Spitzers could be driven from the business again. Sure, he survived Val’s blacklist, but there was nothing stopping Val from threatening more than his livelihood this time. Sptizers just signed a deal with Brut too, which meant that he would be losing out on an opportunity due to Angel’s selfishness. And Agony–fuck, if he signed on with Spitzers already, he could kiss being an A-lister goodbye again.
Angel’s blood ran cold as he knit his eyebrows together. He rested his elbows on his leg, weaving his fingers together. He thought back to those days at the studio–where Tezan watched him like a predator hiding amongst the shadows. It was in that moment that Angel’s contempt for Tezan grew–and he knew that he hated him.
Tezan insulted Angel and his work with every breath he took. When Angel got him blacklisted, he felt no remorse–the bastard got what he deserved. Over these last few months, Angel tried to right his mistake. But because of some cretin that didn’t even value the industry–Angel’s hard work would all be for nothing.
“You said he wanted to join forces?” Angel asked for clarification.
“Yes, he gave me his card.” Spitzers pulled the card out of the interior of his suit jacket.
Angel held out his hand and Spitzers gave him the card. Angel inspected it closely, running his fingers along the card stock. “Tell him you’re not interested–that he can find his own way to bring down Valentino.”
Spitzers nodded, taking back the card. “And if he doesn’t take no for an answer?”
“Oh, he won’t,” Angel stood without warning. “But he won’t be a problem for long.”
Spitzers stood, “You can’t mean–
Angel made his way to the door, and Spitzers followed him. “Don’t worry about me, you need to worry about the business.”
“Angel–
Angel didn’t hesitate to close the door behind him, leaving Spitzers alone in the gentlemans club. He quickly made his way down the street so that he could hail a taxi. The quicker he got away from Spitzers, the quicker he could come up with a plan. One that didn’t end with something Angel thought he was long past.

Why Husker will be the driving force to save Angel Dust; Instagram deep-dive story! Angelhusk explained.
Okay full disclosure Hazbin Hotel is an adult cartoon has dark touchy subject matter so please tread carefully. This goes into shipper territory and I don’t want to get attack in my inbox about this or attacking each other too much shipping wars plus I’m a multi-shipper... But for the sake of this post it’s going to be all fuel Angelhusk (or Huskerdust), yes okay great thank you. This is a continuation of my previous post which was just a prequel to this one. I ended the post saying Husker will be the one to reach out to Angel and helping him.
Tumblr media
First I’ll be breaking down Husker’s first appearance and how his character is. When Alastor first summons him, he’s very pissed off when he’s pulled from the poker game. And he’s very quick show his anger, without fear despite Alastor being “one of the most powerful demons in Hell”, and does not care. Though this is a very short interaction we know that Husker does not put up with BS, he’s a drinker, and a poker player. How is this important to Angel Dust? Well Angel Dust, often hypes himself up but also tears himself down in the process, emphasizing that during the limo ride after being scolded by Vaggie that “his body is flawless, everybody wants a piece”... and thinks that’s all anybody wants from him. This is Angel’s way of protecting himself; he flirts with them first before they can hurt him, it’s just hidden with his confidence.
In reality he thinks everyone looks down on him, which is why he doesn’t accept help or confine in Charlie (like when he flipped her off )he isn’t taking a pity party. Angel hides his pain with vibrato and at the same time is too prideful to ask for help... he won’t admit when he’s in trouble. I explained this a little more in detail in my previous post why he thinks Charlie and Vaggie look down on him. But with Husker he in the same boat; using his addictions (gambling & drinking) to cope with his problems. Angel will be more incline to gravitate towards Husker and telling him his problems. I say this because it’s the same reason why Angel confines in Cherri, and is close with her. And unlike Charlie who can be naive at time ( don’t get me wrong I still love her), Husker will know when he’s over stepping his boundaries, and when to helping him since he’s going through something similar.
Tumblr media
(Charlie wanting to help Angel but doesn’t know how...)
So all of you maybe wondering, how is Husker gonna help Angel dust then if he hides his problems like that. Vivziepop made Husker a poker-player for a reason, he knows how to tell if someone’s bluffing. And it’s already been established that Angel has a terrible poker face... so Angel can’t lie to Husker. This is why he was angry at Angel’s flirting when they first meet because he already sees through his facade, (plus he’s shy about it). He knows that he doesn’t really meant and he’s hiding something. His sense and observation skills are very necessary cause he can spot when Angel’s actually in trouble.

This post starts the saga where Angel is waiting to be picked up at the studio. Saying “Waiting at the studio to...Be picked up for some fucking...Food.”, Val is quick comment on this saying “Forgot to pick you, lol.” and takes the chance to make him like an after thought and after Angel asks to be picked up again Val answer back “yeah but we are filming, I already ate.” just to rub it in. But that’s where Huskers intervenes and get Angel something to eat ,  and there’s a key detail here that it’s only Husker that comes to his aid. Now most of the main cast has an Instagram so you’d think they’d help him but they don’t... They all probably think he’s just being cute and sassy totally unaware of the Angel’s situation with Valentino, but we the audience know... (I’ll bring this point back later)
Tumblr media
This one post is enough for Husker to be able see that Angel was really in trouble, which is why he goes out of his way to get him something to eat. And I would also like to point out after this post Husker starts following Angel’s instagram liking all his instagram posts. There’s more to this... keep in mind he starts following Angel after his posts about being tired and hungry. He’s not following him just because he has a “little crush” on Angel... he’s doing this because he wants to make sure Angel’s doing okay. He cares about Angel Dust well being and follows him to make sure doesn’t go hungry again. But during this time Angel isn’t aware of this... that Husker doing this out of worrying for Angel. I say this because right after Angel gets Husker tickets to his strip show, as “thank you” for the food. Showing that he trusts Husker but not entirely...
At this point Angel I don’t believe that he sees Husker’s actions as a gustier of genuine kindness towards him. No, he sees Husker as someone who just wants his body and this is just his way of getting towards that goal. Offering his services (or being flirty) is Angel way of not getting attach to someone (like I’ve said before): think of it as “ripping the band-aid quick off before it hurts more...”  it’s so he doesn’t get hurt again like with Valentino. I believe Val also managed manipulated Angel by doing nice things for him at first, like saying nice words or buying him nice gifts as means to just use him for his body (this is a real thing pimps do). And Angel thinks Husk is no different from the other guys who used him, that what everybody wants from him... he might as well give him what he wants.
Night of the show rolls around and Husker misses it, kitty got too drunk... which we know takes place during the music video of Addict. In which we get another post about backs my statement the cast doesn’t know about Angel’s abuse. Nifty’s posts a pic, of Angel Dust looking sad after his show... saying “Saw Angel earlier, i hope he doesn’t leave the butts there 😅” Nifty wouldn’t have posted this if she knew what was going on. But Husker knows, that Angel’s depressed and feels bad about missing the show commenting “Oh fuck is that what I missed. Aw shit.” Feeling very guilty about missing Angels, usually Husk tends to hide his feelings but in this moment is very honest. Meaning he really did want to go to the show, not only that but realizes that Angel is actually upset. And he didn’t have to post this comment on Angel’s instagram but he had to he wanted to show that he was remorseful for not coming showing he is attracted to Angel Dust.
Tumblr media
This picks up to with a post with Husker saying Ugh... Since I missed the show, @angie_fluffy_bootz is sayin I owe him one and is making me watch his fuckin pig... I ain’t a fuckin babysitter!” in which babysits Fat Nuggets, which means he went out of his way to say “ what can I do to make it up to you”, and the conversation after it is a major turning point in the relationship for them. In the comment section Husker complains that Fat Nuggets ate all the food at the bar and says he wants to be payed back. Angel’s offer to pay him pay with a “private show”, in the only way thing he thinks Husker wants (I mean that all anybody ever wants from him). He does this with his usually flirty response, but it’s very different (this is a cut version of the convo.):
Angel: “tell ya what I’ll pay ya back with another private show”
Husker: “...I’m not doing that.
Angel: that or nothing babe. I think it’s a good deal.
Husker:“Jesus fucking Christ...”
Angel: Ugh. Fine I’ll quit it. Only if you join me for shakes.
Husker: Yeah okay I think I can do that.
This is major turning point in their relationship; this conversation is very important. Like I said before this is just his way of ripping the band-aid but there’s a reason why he’s really pushing it this time. It’s because Angel knows that he’s starting to catching feelings for Husker. And he’s not sure if Husker wants his body or if really means it. And the matter of the situation is Husker’s feeling the same way. When Husker says “Jesus fucking Christ...” it’s his way of saying “For the last time I don’t want your body, I’m not playing this game”... Here’s the thing Husker believes he’s proven enough that he doesn’t see Angel as a sex object, he’s more tried of the facade than he is annoyed. He doesn’t want Angel Dust to be a “fuck buddy” to him...
And this is a major turning point in their relationship, Angel finally understands that Husker just wants to be there for him. This is why he offers to go out with shakes with him, and of course Husker denies it and says “it’s not a date...”, but we know Husker is happy, because he’s willing accept this as being payed back for the food fat nuggets are, to him this was enough. Needless to say to say it was very cute and I loved it. Not only that but Husker becomes more active on Instagram and low-key tries to flirt back to Angel in his own grumpy cat way.
Tumblr media
Try and tell me they aren’t flirting with each other!
A week after their date Angel Dust does a instagram post showing off his new outfit he got and Husker is quick to ask “why so many zippers”, he’s still too nervous to flirt directly Angel Dust responses with “More to pull down, respond...” Huskers clueless and responses with a “eh” still likes it anyway (the feelings are mutual now). And within the same week Husker posts his own selfie“ Wanted to wear a tie for once. 🥃”, posting one because of Angel. And this isn’t for nothing the pics clearly mirror each other (no pun intended). Just-wanted-to-wear-a-tie-for-once-my-foot ..he clearly did this to impress Angel with him asking “If he needs help with that tie...”, with Husker still being oblivious with the sexual reference but kitty’s still trying.
This to me highlights why Angel is good for Husker (and vice-versa)... During his first appearance he comments “I lost the ability to love years ago...” and drinks down his booze. Which alludes to why he drinks because he feels lonely. Angel makes him active thus eliminating his reason to drink, as we can see through Husk trying things he hasn’t done before like wearing nice clothes. Now he didn’t have to but Husker pushed himself to be better. As for Angel it gives him a genuine romantic relationship that is centered by an emotional connection and not physically. Husker prioritizes Angels feelings and well-being first.
And for those of you that are confused with Huskers grumpy tendencies. In an interview Viviziepop has said about him is that he is a tsundere. Now a tsundere, it is a character the initially appearing as cold and hostile only to hide their true feelings. This is a troupe used  many times in animes (but if you are not familiar with the term or need an example of one Helga from Hey Arnold is a prime example of one).  His actions disregard his attitude towards Angel... Most of his grumpy responses to Angel are to hide his feelings for him and never used to cut down or degrade Angel Dust (like Val does). I will even argue that Husker is the total opposite of Valentino; Val uses flashiness and with sweet words to hide his heinous and vile intentions. While Husker seems hotheaded and temperamental initially his actions show he’s actually a very kind and caring individual and Angel defiantly sees that...
Tumblr media
HUSKER MADE THE WALL!
Angel is special to Husker and he feels the same way... Now and is upper there with Fat Nuggets and Cherri Bomb. And of course Husker is embarrassed, realizing his pics there too saying “what the fuck!” but we know he’s happy. At this post we can assume that Husker is just as important to him as Cherri & Fat Nuggets is to him... and vice-versa. Which is why I believe that Husker will be the one Angel reaches out to first for help within the Hazbin Hotel. And I know some of you may not be convinced, that it’s just platonic or think that Husker just sees him as a friend, but as we know Husker is not a man of words... but a man of action!
There is a key detail in this story that I’ve been keeping under-warps up until now, (and the reason why it took me so long to because once I found it piece of info; I had to change my original plans for this post).
Remember how I said that the rest of the cast doesn’t know what’s going on with Val... and that Husker’s observation skills were going to be integral in helping save Angel. Well around the same time as the PJ pic... on Sir Pentious’ instagram he posts a pic of himself trying to make his minions look like Valentino and Vox: I wasn’t even trying to find this but low and behold guess who pops up in the comment section...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now what does this post say to you. (Husker also liked the post too)
Now repeat after me...“You don’t hear shit about people unless you go looking for it.” ... HUSKER KNOWS!  My theory is that he’s been suspecting that there was something up with Val, ever since the pick-up post, so he’s been keep tabs on instagram Angel to make sure he was safe. And as time went on Angel became more precious to him and became more worried about him. And Husker not wanting to overstep his bounds by asking Angel directly, (because it’s none of his business but still super worried) so he goes around digging info on Valentino. SO then he probably knows that he abuses his workers.
(Or Angel told him whats happening... I’m leaning towards that Husker did his own digging because narratively it would be too soon and we wouldn’t have a story to tell and would have told Charlie and the rest of the crew too already... Either way..)
Tumblr media
Val sent him this, scumbag! And it only takes Husker seconds to defend him and makes sure Angel knows he’s not fat. (most recent post)
Tumblr media
Husker has knows, he’s actively been looking into Valentino and the shit he’s done, because he wants to protect Angel Dust! And it’s evident now, he has been defending him on Instagram as well, now being in the know, Husker defending his boy! He is not afraid of Valentino and is not putting up with his BS for putting down Angel anymore... our boy Husker is watching you rat-man.
He maybe the only one who knows that Valentino is abusing Angel (or catching on to it). Which will lead Angel coming clean about how Valentino raped him... And at this point Angel trusts Husker so much that he maybe willing to listen to him when he says “Hey you need to tell someone” or “you need help” and Husker already knows Angel well enough to know how to help him without having Angel push him away.
AND THAT is why I believe he will be the major driving force in saving Angel from the RAT-MAN (Val)... And we know Husker isn’t afraid of overlords; he’s gonna protect his boy. He is proven time and time again that he loves and cares for Angel Dust so much... and oh I’m gushing now.
Tumblr media
AND LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE! I just want them to be happy, I want the best for our bois!
Thank you and I hope you all enjoyed the post (and please no shipping war in the comment section I don’t condone it whether you support it or not! Not fighting in the fandom)

Recently viewing the recent episodes of Helluva Boss, rewatching episodes, checking on the characters Instagram’s accounts, and even watching few streams;I’ve picked up on something.
Viv has a really bad habit of changing characters interests.
Blitzo is shown to have a thing for Moxxie(as well as Millie, but more so Moxx) so what astonished me months ago was how STOLITZ was the most popular pairing.
Out of all the ships..Stolitz? I expected Bloxxie(or whatever it’s called) to be far more popular, given how a lot of the fandom fancies Huskerdust. Blitzo and Moxxie AT LEAST have moments of connection unlike Stolas and Blitzo. I am not a fan of a lot of the HH ships, but the fandom will go to extreme lengths to frame lust and romance just… baffles me.
Once more, I’m no ”Bloxxie” shipper, I just felt the need to share.
When I first saw HB I figured Blitz being with Moxxie and/or Millie was gonna be endgame, looking back on it now it’s more clear to me that they weren’t going to do that but I figured Blitz would’ve grown more by the end of the season and that his relationship with the two would be better but. Here we are.
Conceptually I don’t dislike Stolitz but I think they both need to change a lot next season for me to actually like it. I’m fine with some horniness in ships but it’s like. A majority of their relationship, and what they have left isn’t great.

Word Count:  2.3k+

Angel watched as Cherri attempted to tie a cherry stem in a knot with her tongue. He couldn’t help but laugh as she struggled. When she was done, she opened her mouth, revealing a haphazardly tied stem.
“Ah-dah,” Cherri said, which bounced the cherry stem just enough to untwist it. “Fuck,” she slammed her fist down on the bar.
“You almost had it,” he chuckled, stuffing his face with whatever hors devours the imp passing them was carrying upon his platter.
Cherri huffed, “My tongue hurts, how did you get so good at that?”
Angel beamed, “Practice makes perfect,” he said happily.
Angel looked over at Cherri as she slid her drink towards her. The two of them were seated at the bar–getting some much needed one-on-one time. Angel looked towards the myriad of other guests invited to this years AVN Award Ceremony. Everywhere he looked, he saw skinema royalty. Some of the sinners Valentino could only dream of working with were in this room.
Angel had been getting tapped on the shoulder all night with sinners eager to introduce themselves. At first, Angel entertained them, taking plenty of selfies and schmoozing, but after a while it got old. Now, if someone broke free from the party to come and butter Angel up, they each took a shot.
Angel supposed that he should feel bad about missing out on such a great opportunity to rub elbows with some of the industry's best producers, writers and actors. But if he were honest, doing shots and snacking on over-hyped garlic bread with Cherri was the most fun he’d had in weeks. So schmoozing be damned–he was going to hang out with his friend tonight.
He glanced over at Cherri, who was busy digging for another cherry stem out of her cocktail. She confessed that she just bought the dress she had on. It was a wine red cocktail dress with an asymmetrical neckline that hung over her left shoulder. The bodice was skin-tight, showing off her plump curves. And how could he fail to mention the high-low cut of the skirt which tapered off right above her knees. Angel gawked at her when she first showed up at the hotel. She’d spun in a circle, strappy red heels clacking in the lobby.
The moment was punctuated by Husk looking over as they admired each other’s outfits telling them to get out. Angel pushed Cherri towards the door, looking over his shoulder as he blew Husk a kiss goodbye. Angel reveled in the small smile he gave him before he turned his back to him.
“Oop, we might need more shots,” Cherri said, putting her hand on Angel’s to alert him. “Three o’ clock.”
“As far as parties go,” he heard a deep voice say over the crowd, “I think I’d rather be invited to this one.”
Angel looked over, recognizing the actor immediately. “Too stuffy ova there for ya?” Angel asked, crossing his legs at the knee as he turned himself towards them. “Cherri, this is Vandal.”
Cherri nodded in greeting before hailing the bartender for another round of shots.
“Nice to meet you,” Vandal nodded back at her. Then his eyes turned toward Angel, “Looks like we’ve both been nominated for Best Male Performer,” he said, his eyebrows moving up and down.
“We sure have,” Angel said, his eyes fixating on Vandal’s red suit. “Two years in a row for some of us.”
Vandal shrugged, “It might just be my year this time,” he said. “This is your first nomination right? What do you think?” He gestured to the room behind them.
Angel looked around, humoring him. He glanced around toward the venue, which had been upstaged suiting an award ceremony that had been running for forty years strong. The guests in the center of the room were having no trouble conversing, all dressed in gorgeous gowns and suits. There were imps running underfoot, carrying large trays of cocktails and snacks before the ceremony began.
“Well, the cocktails suck,” Angel whispered, covering his mouth so only Vandal and Cherri could hear. “But the company is great.”
Cherri laughed at that and in a few moments, she slid over Angel’s shot to him.
“I’m glad to hear,” Vandal smirked. “Speaking of company, I heard Valentino–
Angel put his hand up, “Look Vandal, it’s kind of just us girls tonight, so…” Angel trailed off.
Vandal nodded, “Oh yes, of course.”
Vandal made himself scarce and Cherri waited until he was out of range to punch Angel on the shoulder.
“What was that for?” Angel asked, rubbing his arm.
“This is a big opportunity for you,” Cherri said, handing him a shot. “If you want to go over there, don’t let me stop you.”
Angel grabbed the shot and smiled. “I’m good,” Angel said.
Cherri shook her head, “Well, if you’re not going to work, you could at least get somebody’s phone number. That guy was totally flirting with you.”
Angel raised his eyebrows–though he wasn’t shocked by what she said. Vandal was indeed laying it on pretty thick. Angel played with the straw of his cocktail, swirling the ice in the glass in a circle. “That would help Spitzers and Jullien,” Angel said, “but I’m kind of seein’ somebody right now.”
Cherri nearly broke her neck looking over at Angel as he slammed his shot.
“What?”
“Ladies and gentleman, please find your way to the auditorium, the ceremony will be commencing shortly.”

Angel waved off the driver of the cab and stepped towards the hotel. He skipped the smoke break he desperately needed and went inside, crossing his arms over his chest. He looked over towards Husk, who leaned over the bar as soon as he caught a glimpse of him. Angel smiled, his eyes softening at the sight of him. He took a seat on his stool and crossed his legs at the ankle.
“How was it?” Husk asked, getting right to the point as usual.
Angel smiled widely, taking a moment to clear his throat. Then, in one swift motion, Angel slammed his award for Best Male Performer down on the bar. “It was fucking amazing,” Angel squealed.
Husk palmed the award, turning it over in his hand and admiring the craftsmanship.
“Do you know what this means? Spitzers and Jullien will have investors banging on their doors for weeks!” Angel cheered.
“What are we celebratin’ with?” Husk asked, holding two bottles up for Angel to choose from.
“Ooh, the left one–and I want–
“Somethin’ fruity, I know,” Husk said, waving him off.
Husk made quick work of the cocktail, throwing some peach schnapps and puree into the blender. Then, he poured the puree into two waiting champagne flutes and topped it off with the sparkling wine Angel chose. He topped off his creations with a cherry and then slid one of the champagne flutes towards Angel.
“One peach bellini,” Husk said matter-of-factly.
Angel inspected the drink, smiling at the color. He pressed his glass to Husk’s and took a sip and was delighted at the fresh taste. “That hits the spot,” he smacked his lips. “It was like pullin’ teeth at the bar, we just switched to shots after the ceremony.”
“Tell me about it,” Husk prompted, sampling the bellini as he stood behind the bar.
Angel put his glass down, “Anyone who’s anyone was there, Husky. I’m talking Tredd, October Govern, Desperatta,” Angel counted on one hand.
“I don’t know who any of those people are,” Husk deadpanned.
“Three words. Porn…Star…Royalty. Tredd and October were nominated–and Desperatta basically discovered Brut. Did you know that in an interview he thanked Desperatta officially citing her as his biggest inspiration?” Angel said excitedly. “It’s the whole reason Val wanted to work with him!”
Husk chuckled, “Look at you rubbin’ elbows with the big dogs.”
“Oh, actually, Cherri and I just hung out the whole time,” Angel waved him off. “We got interrupted so much we turned it into a drinking game.”
Husk shook his head, “A whole party in your honor and you ignore all the guests.”
“Somebody had to teach Cherri how to tie a cherry stem in a knot.”
“So you just…drank?”
“I didn’t just drink,” Angel rolled his eyes, “I broke my fair share of hearts tonight, y’know.”
“Oh yeah?” Husk said, leaning up against the opposite side of the bar.
Angel nodded, “Everybody wanted a piece of me tonight.” He sipped his bellini, smiling to himself, “they just fell apart after I said I was taken.”
Angel looked up at Husk, gauging his response. All Angel saw was a shit-eating smirk on Husk’s face as he looked at the floor.
“Is that so?” Was all Husk said, following Angel’s lead and sipping his cocktail. “Just who is this guy?”
“Well, he’s about yae high,” Angel said, measuring his height with his hand. “Probably born with a scowl. Terrible posture.”
Husk crossed his arms over his chest, “Uh huh,” he said, unimpressed.
“Yeah, just like that,” Angel commented on his pose. “He makes the best drinks I’ve ever tasted though, and he makes me laugh.”
Angel’s eyes flicked up at Husk, who was smiling to himself.
“He always makes my day better…” Angel trailed off, swirling his glass. “I really like him.” Angel said finally.
Husk looked up, their eyes meeting. It didn’t take long at all for him to close the distance  between them. He stroked Angel’s chin softly, slowly bringing their lips together. Angel stuck out his tongue, tasting peaches on Husk’s bottom lip. He snickered, kissing him nice and slow–until Husk pulled himself away. Angel huffed in his absence, following Husk as he leaned his elbows on the bar.
“I can’t go around kissin’ somebody’s boyfriend,” Husk said with a smirk.
Angel made a face, “You could use some practice,” he stated, lifting the cherry out of his bellini.
Husk smirked, “I’m smelling a challenge.”
Angel lowered his eyelids, “I bet you I can tie this cherry stem in a knot faster than you.”
Husk fished his cherry out of his drink as well, chomping off the cherry quick. “You’re on,” he said, chewing quickly.
“Good, winner gets to order around the loser,” Angel said, chomping his own cherry. “Ready?”
Husk nodded, and with that, they popped the cherry stems in their mouths. Angel twisted his tongue around either side of his mouth, all while keeping his eyes glued to Husk. Angel watched as the cherry stem poked out slightly from his mouth as he attempted to hold it into place with his teeth. Angel exhaled through his nose, trying to expel any laughter before Husk caught on.
Then, once Angel pressed his tongue against his teeth, he made a noise in his throat. His fingers went to his lips and–Angel revealed a perfectly knotted cherry stem.
“Read it and weep, bitch,” Angel gloated.
Husk spit out his cherry stem onto the bar, revealing that it was nearly split in half from him chewing on it. Angel laughed, taking in his pitiful attempt.
“How did you do that so fast?” Husk asked, exasperatedly.
“Practice,” Angel said smugly.
Husk sighed, crossing his arms. “A win’s a win, what do you want?”
Angel sighed contentedly, “How nice of you to ask, Husky.” He clasped his hands together, making goo-goo eyes at him. “I want you to admit you like me.”
Husk raised an eyebrow. “Are you kidding me? That’s all?”
“I don’t hear you confessing,” Angel sang, a devious expression spreading across his face.
Husk rolled his eyes, “Alright.” Husk stood straight in front of Angel and sighed.
Angel prepared himself, sitting up straight and smiling widely. He looked at Husk with rapt attention, never wavering from his eyes. He signaled Husk to proceed.
“Angel,” he said after a moment, “I like you.”
Angel clapped his hands together. “It’s so nice of you to admit it, after all this time.”
Husk shook his head, “Yeah yeah,” he said dismissing him. “There’s gotta be a secret to that.”
Angel nodded his head, “You caught on quick,” he said, beckoning him closer.
Husk leaned into him, waiting for Angel to go on.
“You see, the secret to tying a cherry stem…” Angel trailed off, grabbing Husk’s untied stem and popping it in his mouth. He twirled it around his mouth for a few seconds before reaching his hand up and taking it from between his teeth. “Not putting the stem in your mouth.”
Husk stood there as Angel revealed his sleight of hand, watching closely as Angel tucked the tied cherry stem into his hand as he “pulled it out of his mouth”. Angel smiled wickedly as the realization hit Husk.
“I can’t wait to visit Bess and Belise, they’ll be so excited to hear the good news,” Angel said wistfully. “When’s our next date, Husky?” Angel raised his eyebrows repeatedly, taunting him.
Husk pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose, like he was trying to dispel a headache–but all he could do was laugh. “You’re gettin’ better,” Husk admitted, smiling at Angel.
Angel grabbed his bellini and took a hearty sip, “I learned from the best.”
He looked toward Husk, who was following Angel’s lead and sipping his drink. He was smiling to himself–in fact, they both were. They sat there in silence for a few minutes, which was interrupted by Angel’s cell phone going off. He quickly palmed it and looked at the screen. Spitzers was calling. Angel stared at his phone as it buzzed.
“You gonna take that?” Husk asked.
“Nah,” Angel said as he silenced it. “I’ll call him tomorrow, I’m celebratin’ with you tonight.”
Husk came closer, resting his elbows on the bar again. In one quick movement, he wove their fingers together, interlocking them as he raised Angel’s palm off the bar. Angel watched as Husk brought his lips to the back of his hand and placed a gentle kiss there.
Angel polished off his bellini and slid over his champagne flute, “Make me a bay breeze next?” Angel asked, lowering his upper body onto the bar.
“Only if you make me a Manhattan,” Husk said, turning to grab the coconut rum.

RadioDust is the Healthiest Toxic Ship for Angel so far
@honesthazbinarchives Briefly. I’d like to go into this more in the future BUT these are the main points I said I’d do. Heh ‘stay tuned’ for why HuskerDust is toxic [haaaa funny fuckin reference n shit like Viv herself aint overdone it]. Yer dont even wanna know the lack of enthusiasm in tryna do a playful ‘cringetopia’ joke - wasnt as fun as anticipated. Anyfuckinways, the shit. Before we begin, disclaimers n whatnot, no hate intended, dni if you’re a bit of a knobhead [either stan or extreme anti], an all that nonsense. I dont own the characters no shit.  In this I’ll discuss how RadioDust aka SpiDEER (thats right, yer stuck w my shit humour now) is both the healthiest ship for Angel we’ve seen so far but still rather toxic. Idc if you hate me for it but dont fuckin waste yer time telling me. Great. I dont care. Yer fuckin hard n whatnot for harassin strangers online. Big dick energy to you. This will be slightly messy, my apologies, it’s a quick summary of many points.
Alright. Firstly, out of the entire male cast Angel interacts with over all platforms, Al is given a fair bit of mercy in terms of sexual advances. In fact, a swift ‘no’ and Angel doesn’t do it again - unlike most of the other cast [pent’s is covert, husks is overt]. One thing I like is that Angel himself admits to their chemistry (claiming that whilst he thinks Al’s a prick, he thinks Al dislikes him which saddens him as he’d at least like to be friends as he feels they have good chemistry - according to the VA via Hunicast’s 1yr anniversary), there’s no further efforts to jump on his dick but a clear curiosity/interest in what Al can do.  Lets go to the basics, both are of similar age [allegedly in their 30s, though Ive heard Al may be up to mid 40s] as well as created near the same-ISH time (as in, Viv’s oldest characters, at least for HH). Likewise, Viv admitted to knowing fuck all on either of their eras (and to make that public wasn’t really a wise choice BUUUT if you felt the need, it’s better worded with interest “Right now I’m working towards educating myself more on their time periods to improve their portrayals” <-- crucial if yer want that ‘realism’). Because of their real-world ages, Viv confesses they’re her favourites (even if you didnt know, she makes it pretty clear). It could be a nice ‘homage’ to their impact in her life but not too relevant otherwise. It could fulfil the need for self indulgence that she’s unhealthily leaking into the canon - which will ultimately make the series shit. No sugarcoating there.  As for their ages, a relationship can work whether the gap is large or small HOWEVER there are many ethics and conflicts to each. And being an adult into kids is always fucked up. With that being said, studies have shown that closer ages often work better due to the often similarities in mindset, maturity and life goals (older folks are more likely to want to settle, younger often have more ambitions), likewise there tends to be an unbalanced power-dynamic if the ages are too far, which can lead to various types of abuse. Dont get me wrong, being with someone much older (AS LONG AS NONE OF YALL ARE KIDS) very much CAN work - but rarely. There’s much more hardwork needed as well as being in the right mindset for both, otherwise it’s bad. More on that in HD. Long story short, both are closer in age meaning both are more ‘relatable’ to one another. There’s common grounds, even in the eras there’s some higher understanding of one another. Notice how Vaggie and Charlie are similar in age? (Even though Charlie is far older, her appearance and mentality for her race is on par with Vaggie’s, making it far more likely to work out positively) One of the most prominent out of all of this however is their actual interests. So listing; Both like action/chaos/having fun (often at the expense of others), both love cooking and can be food snobs in their own right, both have sadistic AND masochistic tendencies, Al likes performance and theatre whilst Angel loves *to* perform, on that last point Angel was very intrigued and enjoyed Al’s song number/performance naturally, both really enjoy pranks and both enjoy liquor (neither show an actual addiction, but rather an interest in social drinking - no dependencies on it). Again, close eras mean both have a higher probability of understanding the other and their lifestyles better. Both are high on appearance and love themselves, implying self confident mindset (healthy BUT the narcissism isnt) yet enough consideration for how they are viewed. On the parent system, one adores his mama whilst the other hates his pops.  Now Ive gone on about how they’re similar. But similarities ALONE is not enough. If it was, then fandom’s would be a lil more harmonious~ A HEALTHY relationship needs compatibility, POSITIVE conversation flow, common grounds, trust, openness and understanding. Even then, some people click and some just dont. It’s like how you can just hate someone for no reason. It just IS. Common grounds and similarity is scientifically proven to be attractive to someone - be it good or BAD. People are drawn to those like their parents in some way usually, likewise we look for people similar to ourselves (from our interests, to humour, beliefs, goals, etc). Science itself states that ‘opposites attract’ solemnly applies in the real world successfully. Though similiarity plays a large role, there has to be some differences too - that person is STILL an individual separate to yourself. Too similar and it’s boring. Too similar and you’ll do everything together without some ‘you’ time. Both Vaggie and Charlie have similar interests/hobbies in dance and music, yet still have enough differences to be identifiable when together. Vaggie is more grounded than Charlie. Charlie gives some optimism and fun to Vaggie. Remember, a partner does NOT complete you - that’s a toxic mindset when taken too seriously, You complete YOURSELF. Whether you have someone or not, you must feel complete in yourself as to not slip into toxic dependency on a lover - to become them, a shadow of them or feel like you’ve lost your identity without them. Sounds harsh but it’s true. Chaggie compliments each other without a dependency. You stand alone yet uplift one another. You don’t always agree but in the end you always have each other’s backs. Love is often butchered in a toxic light in the media.  So taking that into consideration, how does spideer work? Well, here’s some examples of good, bad and neutral: - Angel loves animals, Al fears/dislikes dogs. Perhaps Angel could assist him in overcoming this? - Al hates being touched, Angel dislikes being squeezed. Maybe this could help them reach an understanding... Or cause a rift? - Angel was the only one to break Al’s composure, either Angel is the *key* to delving further into Al’s more raw self... Or just another obVOXious pest? (yeah, I said it-) - Neither respect other’s boundaries, meaning both may fuel the other to be overly disrespectful in this area. Not good. - Angel is a sarky/sarcastic fuck, Al loves dry humour. Both seek amusement and chaos. In relationships one needs to see how conversation flows and in the hunicasts, both keep up some good as well as toxic banter. Both could roast the fuck out of an opponent however. - Al is acro/ace, Angel is hypersexual (appears like a sex addict - now I say this as his book has a crossed out ‘fun stuff’ with ‘work shit’ written on it. He’s always fixed on sex from his job to his humour), this could either aid Angel ease up on the sex stuff OR make him overly push it onto Al causing major rifts and discomfort (aces can have sex, ref to ace posts that real asexuals put to understand more but no one wants to be forced into sex is the point here). And we’ve already discussed their lack of respect for boundaries. The positive is that maybe this will make Angel understand how Val is rubbing off on his own behaviour towards men [again, more on that in the HD post]. - Both similar yet different in a way that does suit their compatibility chances but that doesnt mean they will click, it just improves the odds. - Both have similar enemies in Val and Vox, they’re on common terms. Likewise, Al is against the ‘sexual deviance’ of hell meaning he may be oddly supportive and protective of Angel in terms of Val. I dont even think his sadism will override this either. - Al dislikes modern tech, Angel seems to use it as his job requires it. A nice little menial difference. - Only ONE is an addict. Take it from an expert, you NEVER put two addicts together. They’re very vulnerable and prone to slipping deeper into their addictions as well as depending on each other too much that they essentially become very clingy, suffocating and toxic to each other. Seen it in action, it’s ugly.  - Both could have a lot of fun and calm moments with each other. - He isn’t immediately smitten with Al but immediately shows a natural interest in Al’s powers and performance, embracing it openly. Leads for a good friendship turned lovers plot. - In Viv’s patreon, she confirmed Angel loves confident guys [sounds exactly like Al] We need to think about where both are mentally. What benefits would a relationship give both? How would they be good and bad for each other? For Al, aside from his outdated views and being a fucking murderer and narcissist, he actually seems in a good mindspace for a relationship IF he opted to be in one. Angel however has a very immature mindset, likewise is in a phase of life where hes bed hopping. IF he were to be in a relationship, I’d say he needs a male equivalent of Cherri - someone with a similar mindset yet some differences, willing to have fun and in touch with their younger side, down to cuddle, open to share and receive love as well as not afraid to publicly be affectionate with him, someone who sees him as more than just for sex, someone fun, someone who’ll let him embrace his cutesy side publicly without shame - Cherri is younger so maybe someone who’s his age or slightly younger perhaps? I think Angel’s not retirement home ready to settle and needs someone on his level that can cuddle and chill as well as feels free and youthful enough to go wild with him. In one sense, he’s got a teen girl sorta mindset (dont put him with a teen though, it’s fuckin weird-). He needs someone positive and raw, someone to let him be himself as well as someone comfortable to be themselves around him. He has a habit of latching onto unobtainable men (in psychology, this is self sabotaging subconsciously): Travis the client, Val a pimp, Husk (emotionally unavailable and needs HEAVY self work - interestingly far more than Angel - plus he’s still onto his last relationship and an addict to gambling and alcohol), Pent who’s the enemy he was currently fighting (inappropriate timing), Alastor who’s not interested in another but his own needs [selfish, VERY bad for a relationship]. Subconsciously he’s self sabotaging on purpose. There’s many psychology books as well as sources online for this, if you’re interested. Either way, Angel is drawn to men either like his father [who dislike him, shun him, or are otherwise cold, abusive or just blatantly dislike or otherwise dont care about him] or anyone with money to fuel his drug addiction/’debt’ to Val. Going with any of these men isn’t a good idea.  Preferably, Angel needs someone who he doesnt immediately crush and obsess over. Someone who he doesnt sexually harass or assault. Someone he can build a connection with quickly that can bud into romance (think how Chaggie started as a friendship which clicked immediately). Maybe even someone he doesn’t expect to fall for but does so anyways. It would be more realistic as Viv wants as well as more healthy. That for once he isnt sex or money craved instantly, thus doesnt sexually harass/assault and is given a proper chance to develop and grow a friendship and love. Someone who isnt an addict.  Someone with an on-par mindset where they click. Someone open to love. For any chance of a good relationship, Angel needs to be with anyone BUT who we’ve already seen. There’s too much toxicity that’ll be swept under the rug and justified otherwise. Too much shit to fuel homophobes in terms of gay stereotypes. Even though Ive focused a fair bit on Angel, it’s NOT just about Angel. That’s something fans forget. Some he depends on or someone who depends on him in the long term wont last and will be very dangerous to both.  Just because you suffer, you dont then deserve to be rewarded with ‘something nice’. You dont get to have everything youve ever wanted. Giving him any of these blokes [minus Val] gives him a pass. Gives him what he wants. I get Viv loves him but life doesnt work that way. True lasting growth comes from learning that. Acceptance and growth. You dont get everything you want and sometimes thats a GOOD thing. He’s not a spoilt kid who gets everything he asks for, he’s YOUR creation. If you really wanted what your creations deserve then you need to research and be realistic with it. Because hes starting to feel like a shitty Gary-Stu at this rate. I live with an ‘Angel Dust’ like person. It used to feel like life gave her everything and most times it did. Everyone loved her and she could get away with murder if she wanted to. But now she’s had to struggle and grow, let go of some ‘wants’ because they werent good for her and she’s becoming better for it. She has a long way but she’s more humble for it now [still got self confidence but it’s less narcissism now, which is more healthy for her]. Also, they make the word anal lol
