The Unending Battle Within: Exploring the Persistence of Internal Struggles
In the depths of our souls, the battle rages on. It is a war fought silently, concealed behind masks of normalcy and the facade of peace. We may have declared an end to the world wars that ravaged nations and tore lives apart, but within us, a different kind of conflict persists, unyielding and relentless. Greed, that insidious beast, lurks in the shadows of our desires. It whispers in our ears,…

The Tipping Point: Politicians, Role Models, and Our Collective Responsibility
In the heart of American society, our politicians stand as influential figures whose actions and decisions shape the nation. The roles they play, both in the chambers of Congress and on our television screens, have significant repercussions for our everyday lives. However, as our world becomes increasingly polarized, the standard set by our politicians seems to be slipping. There is a pressing…

Embracing Discomfort: The Power of Difficult Conversations
Hello and welcome to Salma’s Nook! Today, we’re going to dive into a topic that often makes us uncomfortable but is essential for personal growth and societal progress: difficult conversations. These are the conversations that many of us tend to shy away from because they touch upon sensitive or uncomfortable subjects. However, it is crucial that we acknowledge and address these issues in order…

Hey there! Are there any other beasts in slug city or is it just the orchid and electric ones?

Delta and Oster and Co. have them too, Delta's is a round-ish beast with many leg and eyes surrounding its entire body with waterfall-like tears. Oster and Co's is one with multiple heads, each representing one of the "main" alters. I would like to heavily rework these both design-wise and concept-wise. Here's old art of them!

Calling out specific fandoms is not the move
The people who play so-and-so game also watch so-and-so show and support so-and-so streamer. Everyone hops interest to interest and their attitudes and biases follow. The borders of online communities and tags and forums are imaginary.
There is no one group to blame, there is no gas leak source, there's no villain, its everywhere, its societal, not a unique symptom of one sub-culture over another like please dude cmon.

I'm so sorry
But in the alternate timeline where Bruce dies in the alley, Martha becomes the joker and Thomas becomes Batman... what if the joker-ication process of Martha is a slow thing. They all mourn the loss of Bruce in their own ways while blaming themselves. Alfred blaming himself for not being there to fight the dude off before anything happens to anyone. Thomas blaming himself for taking Bruce to the theatre. Martha blaming herself for suggesting a nice walk home.
Overtime Martha gets more confrontational towards the two, "THIS IS YOUR FAULT FOR TAKING US TO THE STUPID SHOW! YOU LAZED ABOUT WHILE MY BABY WAS DYING!"
The words getting more harsh until Alfred confronts her in the kitchen saying it's no one's fault and they should work on comforting each other instead of tearing each other apart.
Martha laughs and slowly the laugh gets more psychotic before she takes the knife she was using and stabs him with it.
Thomas finds Martha laughing over Alfred's body, his blood smeared over her face in the shape of a bloody smile and he screams.
They're both broken.
Hi!! Thank you for the ask, first of all. Sadly, everything that has to do with the joker in a story-focused way (aka where I have to put a lot of energy into) Is a bore hazard for me.

So you know that comic called Judgment Day? The one about the astronaut who goes to an alien civilization to assess if they’re ready to join the galactic council or whatever? But he denies them because they are prejudiced against their own kind? And the last panel of the comic shows that the astronaut is a Black man?
Anyways just found out that was one of the last comics produced by EC a company that made its name in horror and scifi comics. Not all of their comics were free of stereotypes or insensitivity but so many of their stories were so radical (addressed antisemitism, racial violence) for the 50s that people started to talk of government censorship of comics. Eventually an NGO made of comic publishers ‘certified’ comics for publication, with a code not dissimilar from the Hayes code for film. Judgement Day’s unedited publication was severely delayed because the council wanted fewer drops of sweat on his face, or a member outright fought its publication because the sentient robot aliens ‘were against his religious beliefs,’ which is all to say that the council didn’t want to publish a comic with commentary on race equality during the height of the civil rights era.
