OKAY BUT PICTURE THIS!!!!

soc spin-off, right? We get through the whole ice court heist, we’re on our way back to ketterdam. In the book, now is when we get the “I will have you without armour, Kaz Brekker. Or I will not have you at all.” But we’ve already gotten that scene in the show. Inej is already off on her own journey, and she’s had to come back for the heist. But the point is she (and most likely Kaz as well) have gotten through more character development compared to the books.

Which means that THAT scene will have to be replaced with something BIGGER, a step further into their relationship. I can’t even begin to think what it could be like (no gloves??), but I know it will definitely have me screaming.

But do you know what that means as well? The scene of Van Eck noticing Inej as Kaz’s tell and kidnapping her (which happens right after this) will have ANOTHER whole new level of ANGST, and I’m not sure I can handle it.

I’m going to get my money, Kaz vowed. And I’m going to get my girl.

I’m screaming, I can’t wait.

“I wonder who she brought,” Inej hummed out, not quite a question but not firm enough to stand on its own. She adjusted her stance, and Nina moved with her lest her fingers slipped while crafting the tattoo. She finished the stroke of pigment she was working on and looked up.

“Would you know them?” She tilted her head, “Or d’you think most of the girls you worked with are gone now?”

“I don’t know,” Inej shook her head, “I tried to keep in touch with some of them when I left, but not many of Heleen’s flock escaped like I did. The odds are I’ll probably recognize them, at least.”

“And, that makes you nervous?” Nina surmised with a sympathetic pout as she started the next strand of the tattoo.

“It makes me angry, ” Inej said, blinking as if surprised at the heat in her own words, “It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. Dragging them here, parading them to these men? It makes me want to… It makes me question if the Saints are truly aware of what happens. If they care.”

Nina tsked, “I don’t know much about Saints, but I can tell you this. It doesn’t help anyone to wish and wait for help that isn’t coming. It’s better to act when your heart calls you to, and wrestle with the uncertainty that comes with it later. Because if you’re right, and the Saints have abandoned us, then at least you had it in yourself to do what you believe is right. And if you’re wrong ,” She finished the Menagerie’s peacock tattoo with a flourish of her fingers, taking the final moments as an excuse to touch Inej’s arm longer, “If the Saints have been watching us all this time, than we deserve to do something that would make them proud, right?”

the thing that’s so frustrating about the shadow and bone cancellation is that they literally had!!! the perfect cast!!! that casting was it for me - they were the characters i had read about in the duology coming to life on the screen. the show was good and it could have been even better if they had just given it time to breathe. netflix quite literally pulled together the perfect cast for these characters, dangled them in front of us and then proceeded to snatch them away again. what is the incentive to watch netflix anymore when even shows with genuinely brilliant casts and characters barely last a season or two? why bother becoming invested in the content that netflix creates if they’ll only plug their ears and ignore the feedback of their audience as they cancel legitimately enjoyable shows? how are shows meant to develop great stories or find their footing if the threat of cancellation looms over them from the very start? netflix doesn’t give their shows the chance to build upon themselves, they want everything at once or nothing at all and it’s so so frustrating as a viewer

I randomly saw from Freddy's Instagram that he and Amita were working the till at the Choose Love pop-up on Carnaby Street.

It's a fantastic cause - buying supplies for refugees. The number of refugees and displaced people globally have doubled since 20 years ago. My parents were refugees of the Vietnam War, and boat people, so one of the things we bought was a Sea Rescue package. Maybe it'll give someone the second chance that my parents got.

This trip let me see all the Season 1 Crows again! Was only expecting to see Kit (Influence at the Collective Theatre was great, go see it!), got bonus Freddy and Amita ❤️ and a good cause .

Okay so,

I had my PEEVES with shadow and bone.

I had SO MANY. But that’s besides the point. The point is I’m so FUCKING DONE with Netflix not going 100%. DO IT OR DON’T. DON’T TIP TOE AND WRITE A WHOLE FUCKING SCRIPT FOR A SPINOFF BUT NEVER GREENLIGHT IT BECAUSE YOU’RE ADDICTED TO CANCELING SHOWS PEOPLE LOVE. You know how many goddamn shows I loved that netflix up and cancelled for literally no reason??? Too many!

And they act like they’re so amazing for gifting us with precious jewels every time they release a new show. Yeah, Scott pilgrim DOES look good. But will it be cancelled?? WHO KNOWS! Nobody ever THINKS they will! So Why give us these jewels- these gems, if you’re just going to take them away??? What good does it do but fuel the hate we already have for this stupid system??? Why is Stranger Things literally the only survivor?????? It’s great sure- but we KNOW Netflix isn’t just spending its money on Stranger Things. They prove so every time they launch something they’ll inevitably cancel.

It’s just that Netflix is only the money provider- it’s the PEOPLE who make the jewels. It’s the cast and crew and everyone who actually WORKED on it. It’s not the company itself. If a show can be remade somewhere else- maybe the shitty company wasn’t even worth our time. Maybe it’s not worth anyone’s. Because let’s be real- how many people haven’t cancelled their subscription out of habit bc they’re just waiting for the next season of Stranger Things?? Yes, there are plenty of wonderful people working for Netflix- but whoever is consistently and persistently making these decisions clearly needs to be in a different position.

Yes, I had many problems with the show coming from someone who read the books first- but it was still enjoyable to watch! and the people who made it looked like they were having a blast! But beyond how I feel about the show- The point is- NO MORE. Netflix thinks it’s like- all powerful and shit- but the powers in the PEOPLE. And the CUSTOMER is king- so WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING?!?! They’re not the only streaming service anymore. And their popularity has been declining for a long time ever since there’s been so many more options for streaming. Competition is coming at all sides and yes, the competition looks better and more appealing but STILL they pretend they’re the king.

I’m just PISSED. And it’s been brewing for a while.

DO IT OR DON’T. Don’t say you will when you won’t.

Commit to the bit or get out. Someone will take it if you don’t, we will be sure of it. This fan base is a tempest.
