i do think its kinda funny when i see someone in the year of our lord 2024 talk about vocal synth music like its all gone downhill since like 2010 because like dont get me wrong i love a good niconicodouga-ass 2008 ass vocaloid joint BUT also like. the past couple years have had the most fascinatingly creative and expressive uses of vocal synthesizers ive ever heard in my life DJFSKHJDFS dont write it all off just yet!!

And lright this one is a MESS. I wrote it right when I was playing endwalker and I was really overwhelmed with the story™ that I made  mess of this wip so like for the last few months or so I’ve been working on rewriting everything lol so I’ll give you some of my thoughts abt it and a small snippet since I can’t get anything more substantial that I’m satisfied with lol

This fic is like following right after the scions are back from the moon. I was overwhelmed with the fact that the WOL didn’t have much saying with the twins and how Fourchenault reacted to them. I was like, yeah, she’s proud of them. They deserve to know that, but also, I’m not sure she would be brave enough to do so. So well this fic starts with me realizing like “alright, thancred would get it. better than anyone” so the first part follows him seeing how she reacts to everything that’s happening with the WOL and making the connections like how he felt about ryne, etc etc

But of course,,, my excuse for this fic was Thesa’s haircut first and foremost. Basically I hc Azem to have insane long hair, and Thesa always had longer hair, and this is like the first time she cut it out and it’s incredibly short. Basically the second part goes from her having a bit of breakdown seeing the moon burning + overthinking about that image of hythlo she saw on the moon and everything that happened there and going “I need new. The final days can’t happen again, things gotta change NOW.” Until she interrupts my Alisaie like knocking on the door which is like the cannon visiting for her during that quest!!

And ofc Alie changes her mind a bit… but she still gets that feeling so this is SO SPECIFIC but like you know the whole “wrapping the red thing around your thinger so you don’t forget?” She does it with a strand of hair, just a reminder (things he has lost etc etc) and chops everything off. But then, ofc, the beginning alone isn’t enough for me so the last part is Thancred’s reaction to it, since I like to think they spend their nights together whenever they can and they DEFINITELY would want to on this one night. There is a bit of that part before any rewriting lol:

A knock on door cut off any other conclusion that Thesa would have come with. She hadn't heard footsteps down the hallway, and the beat was too light to be anyone else — though she doubted many others besides Alisaie would be awake and willing to visit after a day like this. So she calls his name lightly as she walks to the door, and from the suppressed laugh, she was sure.

“It's me.” Thancred’s voice is softer beyond the closed door. She finally quickened her pace to unlock it when he laughed again. “I hope you didn't have to crawl under the covers to-”

From the look he had on his eyes, Thancred seemed to have specific intentions for the visit. However, as soon as she appeared from behind the door and their eyes finally met, the hyur could have sworn that all the thoughts he had — along with all the rehearsed words he had cooked up - slipped his mind.

Thesa freezes for a second too, unsure how to react. Maybe she would explain later, but for some reason, she waited for his reaction to continue.

Thancred seemed entranced for a second as a smile seemed to bump into his face, and then, he made the greatest effort to move; forcing his hand up until he finally reached the messy strands. His right hand stops to her left side, with his thumb behind his ear so he could feel each of the threads between his fingers — clenching his fist to lightly pull them and feel them falling off before repeating the same thing but resting his palm next to her face.

“By the twelve.” He says in a sigh, slightly embarrassed to clearly see the situation they were in as his left hand reached for the longer loose strand and curled it around his fingers before resting his hand on the side of her face, cupping her cheeks, and finally confessing, exactly, the same conclusion of hers. “Perfect.”

He looked at her with different eyes than First and even more different than Walking Sands. Eyes that stretched far farther than he had previously seen — and yet, without missing all the admiration and affection he had always carried. Maybe slightly more, even.

"For a second I didn't recognize you," he smiled, tugging lightly on the strand with a teasing smile, which soon turned into a relieved sigh when he tilted his head to the side, finally meeting her eyes again. "But there she is."

#it just feels ooc for some of them and I don't like how I did some of the exposition so yeah rewriting it. I just need to get in the right #headspace to finish it lol those more canon ones makes me anxious to finish for NO REASON other than my girl deserves the best. so yeah. #ALSO fun fact I feel like I need to share: this fic is only something bc I was frantically doodling on my sketchbook after finishing that #quest. i have the date here lol 3/3/22 (not that long ago ik) but yeah i end up with thumbnail for this little comic #with a BUNCH of notes around it. its kinda overly angsty bc i was feeling like thag at the time bc HYTHLO's “Don't you agree hades?” OR WTV #the notes summarizes to 'but then it does not matter if you hair feels lighter because you have their images engraved in #your mind and you do not have the strength to cut those off so all you do is ask /what now/ but haven't you learned? images can't talk' #and the progression of the coming is her cutting her head and the panels kinda move like a camera to finalize focusing on her back staring #at a mirror reflection the image of emet (black robs + hole in his chest) and the image of hythlo she has for now (from the moon cutscene) #so yeah...... maybe it all started with my hythazemet brainrot and then the fic was too much on alisaie and thancred so i had trouble #idk findinh middle ground with what I wanted ?? but yeah... Was in the kitchen getting choccy milk and I turned on the hall light and saw some kind of black dot down low on the wall and cuz I don't have my glasses on I couldn't make it out but I assumed it was a bug and told myself to make a post saying sometimes there are benefits to being nearly blind cuz I would have freaked out if I could see that clearly, but then I turned around and forgot what I was doing so I turned around again and the dot/bug was gone. Like completely vanished. And now idk if that was real or a hallucination. And it's so fucking annoying when that happens cuz if it's a hallucination then thank god I don't have to worry about it, but if it's real, my bedroom door was wide open next to it and is it in here and do I have to be paranoid about it touching me now???? Like, that's the part that sucks, I don't give a shit that hallucinations are just a thing that fucking happens in my life now apparently. It's about not knowing if I have to fucking deal with something now. Tho now that I think about it, I think it did have a weirdly big shadow around it that probably didn't make sense so it probably likely was a hallucination, in which case thank god.

#some of the ways he makes us like ralsei is just by having him look rlly cute and act super nice and stuff obviously #but i think him looking like asriel could play into that too #theyres definitely a deeper significance to his resemblance to asriel but in addition to whatever that ends up being #since ur supposed to play deltarune after having played undertale... having ralsei look like a character who most ppl remember very #positively (as well as in the context of deltarune being kris/''''''our''''''' nice older brother #im not saying that *IS* why a lot of ppl take a liking to him im just saying that i wonder if that was something toby specifically had in #mind. idk. but i do think he intentionally wanted us to really like ralsei #and now in chp 2 hes intentionally made ppl start to be suspicious of him #where is this going? no idea! but toby is definitely considering how the player currently views ralsei i think #i mean thats just common sense. considering what your audience is (probably/''should be'') currently thinking and using that as a guide to #what you show them next. if you have any sort of mystery element to ur story then u should always be thinking about ''how much does the #audience currently know about whats going on based on what clues ive given them so far? how much information can be gleaned from this? how #much do i ideally want a viewer/player/reader/whatever to know at this point in the story?'' #and i think with ALL his characters and story beats and secrets #toby is very precise about how much he shows his hand #esp after undertale lol. hes definitely always very considerate of how much theorists and coders and stuff will be able to piece together #from what he gives us #at least i assume so LOL #he SEEMS to be very good at it #serena.txt

just realized that when hashirama tells his and madara's story - including the bit about madara telling him about the writing on the uchiha monument - the uchiha monument is actually right there next to them? madara told him that he could decipher the writing using his ocular powers which im thinking means that u need EMS cuz madara was the first one to obtain them .. sasuke has EMS too and he demonstrates that at some point to everyone there. why didnt anyone think about whether he might be able to read the writing w them?

hashirama at this point - with exception of the few hints that he got from madara - has no clue what the writing says but he does know that it had smth to do with madara leaving the village and when sasuke and orochimaru later tell him that madara has been resurrected and plans to trap everyone in his infinite tsukuyomi .. why wouldnt he connect the dots and realize that maybe thats what he meant back then with his "real dream"? wasnt he curious to find out more specifics? cuz orochimaru and sasuke just say that he wants to control everyone, kill everyone, cause the world to go under etc. and bc they dont know madara thats enough of an explanation for them. but hashirama has much more intimate knowledge of him, he still regards him a fundamentally kind man, refers to him as his gift from the divine, says that he looks forward to reconnecting with him etc. etc. so surely he must have wondered whether there isnt a little more to the infinite tsukuyomi than just world domination for world domination's sake? and the monument was right there, if sasuke had turned out to be able to read it, they couldve gotten a better understanding of it. even without hashirama's perspective on madara as a person - the writing could have had crucial information on how to stop him. so why didnt anyone think about having sasuke try and read it?

#also now that im thinking about it .. did no one else ever think to look at the monument? #if EMS is all u need there must have been many uchiha capable of reading it after madara? #if hashirama knew that the writing had smth to do w madara leaving why didnt he ever make any of the other uchiha try and read it to him? #why wasnt that a thing? why - in general - was that not a thing at all? #there's a millenia old stone tablet containing the secrets of the universe in our hands but nobody cares about deciphering it lol?? #one of our village founders turned insane after reading it but anyway. we have better things to do than investigate any of that #like .. what??? #did hsrm maybe end up underestimating the relevance of the monument and just keep to what tobirama hints at later #that it was izunas death aka the curse of hatred that turned madara insane? #which .. doesnt rly make sense to me? he must have noticed that there was smth happening with him #before he left the village #or maybe he didnt .. and thats what the problem was all along? #maybe if he Had noticed a change he couldve done smth to save him? handled the situation differently somehow and instead of killing him #discarding of him .. maybe used his power to force him to tell him whats going on instead? #if hashirama had managed to get mdr to tell him all that .. and had reacted w understanding and empathy #the same way naruto told sasuke that he understands him! maybe that wouldve saved them #maybe thats what was missing for them to break the cycle ... cuz by telling him that he understands him. he wouldve disproven mdr's belief #that peace & understanding isnt possible thus taking away his core motivation for the infinite tsukuyomi .. #so uhh .. guess i just answered my own question? hsrm not understanding/caring enough about what was happening w mdr #kept him from ever investigating further about the monument #and also maybe taking someone elses mangekyou isnt that common either so even if some of the later generations tried reading the writing #they werent successful deciphering it. and since mdr as it seems never rly had a trust-bond w the uchiha anyway #maybe they just went 🤷🏻‍♀️ at some point. and so the village as a whole just collectively forgot about the issue #maybe mdr also didnt even tell any of them in the 1st place? #or .. maybe zetsu did smth to the writing as well. made it so that only mdr could decipher it? #hmm .. so many questions .. #posts #madara #naruto
