I keep seeing people say it's not fitting that Danse enjoys country music 😭 I find it pretty fitting and not out of character at all. he definitely puts on a country station while he's tinkering with his armor or guns, and hums along to it absentmindedly. I think it's sweet

saints what are your opinions on rosekiller's (very) unusual ways of showing affection?
i mean like evan biting barty when theyre laying together, barty pulling strands of evan's hair hard enough for it to hurt but not hard enough to rip it out, evan tapping barty's skin (like tapping tapping, like how asmr-tists (?) tap on things) just because it feels nice, etc.
?
I'M GONNA SAY SOMETHING CONTROVERSIAL 🙌 i don't see them as a couple with a lot of PDA. yes, barty is obsessively slavering all over evan in public, but it's like... one-sided and perhaps a touch performative? the most affection evan will publicly show is maybe quietly holding onto barty's sleeve <- he is always doing this
but i think they're perceptive characters who are both highly Aware of each other's bodies at any given moment, and their real pda is just how seamlessly they move around each other. it's how they always end up sitting next to one another, or anticipating each other's movements and needs. they're not touching, but you can almost palpably feel them pinging each other like satellites.
fanon barty is super touchy in private too. and i agree that in public/with friends he 100% is (he likes to use physicality to Instigate Reactions). but i try to remind myself that ESPECIALLY with an intimate partner, he is someone with deep issues surrounding bodily autonomy/his own embodiment, who is unused to being touched in a nonviolent way. there's a difference between barty initiating sexual contact and the more casual intimacy you describe. EVAN is the one who grew up cuddling a sibling, and he most likely initiates those little shows of affection....
but mostly i think they show affection via that quiet mutual (somewhat stalker-ish) awareness. it's a careful peeling back of their respective shells

I'm extremely divided with my opinion on Hades II. On the one hand, I'm one of the 7 people that played Pyre and really, REALLY loved it, so when they announced the first Hades and returned to the Bastion/Transistor-like gamepla it felt like a letdown. And Then they announced Hades II and i was, uh. Not very excited, because even if i really loved Hades, it was still more of the same ol formula.
on the other hand they just did a livestream showing the test version of Hades II and it looks incredibly beautiful, the gameplay seems entertaining as Hell and it FUCKS SEVERELY and I love what little we've seen of Hecate and Melinoë, so. I never said I wasn't a hypocrite

i don't mind seeing people interpret hope and lightning as having romantic connotations surrounding them in the lr lore, but i personally think claiming it to be proven as canon really undermines just how badly bhunivelze fucked with hope's head
"bhunivelze developed a romantic obsession with lightning because he absorbed hope's heart!" yes, but that's not all there is to it. you gotta keep in mind that bhunivelze used lightning to psychologically mess with hope for centuries, he used her image as a tool to get hope to obsess over the past and wish for nothing more than to be reunited with her (remember that the last time hope ever saw her was at the end of xiii, while everyone else aside from vanille and fang had come back at that point), and she had such a major hand in inspiring hope to become the person, the leader, he'd become since then
bhunivelze didn't inherit hope's emotions until after he had become obsessed with lightning as a symbol of the past. if you view hope's and lightning's relationship as platonic/familial (like i personally do) then bhunivelze becomes so much more sick, and it adds to the misogynistic undertones in his behavior toward mwynn and etro, his own family. he took something pure, the admiration a young boy had for an older woman who replaced his mom as his female role model, and twisted it into something dark, inappropriate and obsessive, something that would serve him. that's what he inherited. he was never able to love his mother or daughter, how could he possibly understand the familial love between hope and lightning?
bhunivelze's sudden feelings for lightning is, in my opinion, meant to disturb us because of how innocent hope's admiration for lightning actually is. turning hope back into a kid sells that even more, it specifically draws out lightning's maternal instincts toward him, just for her to be faced with what bhunivelze has twisted it into after centuries of torture. bhunivelze isn't representative of hope's and lightning's relationship, they're victims of his abuse of the human heart
again, interpreting them as romantic is fine and dandy if that's how you see them, but i feel like claiming it's all "proof that hope x lightning is canon" ignores a lot of important details surrounding them and bhunivelze, more specifically it downplays the absolutely devastating impact bhunivelze had on hope's state of mind, and subsequently, lightning's rage upon seeing it for herself

Does Chrollo ever wanna build a family with reader? And if so, what kind of father would he be? Would he make the child just as bad as him, or 'better'? It's for... biological reproduction science 👀
chrollo doesnt strike me as the guy who would *actively* plan for a family? idk, but he also doesnt seem to be the type to make a fuss if *cough cough* accidents happen. there would be the initial panic (something he masks very nicely) but then he'd be calm. sure, his lifestyle does not warrant such an extension of the family, but if that's what happened, let it be
i am very delulu here but he might even, idk, put in effort?? he may seem like a deadbeat dad but he doesnt intend on it. little lives are so fragile and his hands are far too rough and bloody to be molding them. most of the parenting falls onto you (like 90% of it) but he does pitch in for education. it feels wrong to not pass on that knowledge and experience.
if the child ends up having nen, well, welcome to the real world! your father is a criminal mastermind and has committed *checks notebook* a number of crimes that you cannot even count. this man who read you pinocchio when you were four and taught you how to write in cursive kills people without a second thought. do you still love him? well, he still loves you. sort your feelings out wisely :)
