i was looking for my chem notes and instead found a sketch I made back when cultivate chapter 16 dropped.., (this is obviously not the same scene as there, but just something that remained rent free in my head,,, so this is uhhh idk maybe another reunion just later in the future where beloveds figured it all out finally and are more bold haha)

this was originally supposed to be a properly made comic but unfortunately, that is just not feasible at this point in time. but I didn't want to sit on the draft for the next few months or so, so I decided to throw it quickly together to make it a bit more legible and share it as it is haha (and to clarify im not gonna finish it any more than this. most likely. sorry)

if its not clear what its supposed to be (which, fair) its supposed to be the reunion when LQG comes back from CQ but with a twist (ha!) because I'm weak like that for characters doing the spinny spin o(-(

so frame one is LQG standing somewhere nearby the homestead, perhaps the main gate or wherever, and gets spotted by SY who in turn stops in his tracks on his way from the lower terraces, and the rest hopefully is legible enough haha

THE HUBERT POST

this is the post about my drider character on the hyperion s1 minecraft server :3

hubert is a merchant with a devious origin who arrived at the village after long travels from the kingdom of narfidorf and has found himself at home here, maybe even finding himself attached to the various characters this village beholds?

anyway, this is how he started out :3 his first base design is this

and i found myself immediately in love with how he looked! he did go through a few revisions over the past few months but they just served to make him better :} he looks a lot rounder and softer here than in the later iterations

this is also a softer looking headshot made after the drawing above, he looks like a baby lol

this one encaptures him quite well still! this is where he got sharper and more angular

his eye placement changed overtime as well, this is the older eyeplacement and also, watch as the ears gradually get longer overtime haha

concepts for the movements of this critter

he looks a bit softer in that first one, then the second one is a sharper look

this drawing was made after it was canonized that hubert had tasted human flesh before, and this is also where the newer eye placement takes shape

i was going to finish this one as its supposed to depict him in his dubious-past-prime with fancy clothing and all

this is the second most recent piece, its still a WIP, he looks a lot different to his first design! and dw im putting the topscars on him when i continue the piece :3

thought id show the sketch too, you can see he became a lot more angular overtime and this is how he looks rn in the hyperion lore, hes more frizzled because hes a deadly dance with the narrative rn

random scene i kinda wanna write (wont now tho 😔✊)-- brought to you by [megumi gojo found family ness] being my favourite thing. and the fact that megumi has no idea how actually fucked up the events that lead to him getting a new "caretaker" were (its almost funny)

idk what tone id go for after that though. like maybe shoko finds him snooping and she decides '... i am not dealing with this' but still calmly tells him a *bit* more about it before telling him to go for a walk or sum pft

id keep it light i guess. and i dont think megumi would go talk with gojo at first cuz "feelings, ew, 'cringe'" , but something would shift between them (kinda awkwardly) and i think that would be enough for gojo to eventually up his "annoying tactic" game and he'd get megumi to give up and confess and then he would be like 'wow, nvm, i am not having this conversation' [<- gojo 🤝 shoko frl] "oh that! dw about it megugu 👍, haha!" and he would get all elusive with would fucking backfire because it would hit megumi like a truck that 'oh wow, gojo has done this for as long as ive known him'

also megumi probably had questions and unsure feelings about his dad "killing" gojo and doing whatever else is in the report, gojo killing his dad "back", and gojo ('after all of this ??') taking on the role of being his "dad's replacement" ; managing to make megumi's life so much livelier even if he didnt have to.

I wouldnt make them talk about all their feeling and blablabla, (not yet at least), but i would have megumi accept the information he got, surprised but okay with the knowledge that gojo too can be touched, be hit and get hurt (even though since he was young it always slipped his mind with ease. his benefactor was arrogant but he really did seem like "the strongest"), because that just makes him seem more real. (sure, he survived the unsurvivable; but he got hit first, he started somewhere just as everyone does.) He doesnt fully like it ofc, because it was always easier to believe that someone he cared about was invincible [protective megumi core] BUT it doesnt change the fact that gojo is still the pillar of strength he claims to be and that megumi has the luxury of caring for someone who can fend for himself in situations where most couldn't.

He takes what he learned as is, even if he doesnt know every detail, deciding that it doesnt change anything.

Another time, when theyre alone, Megumi takes the initiative to reply to gojo's typical shenanegans and ruffling of hair by giving him a stiff but very warm hug thats gladly returned with just as much love (and some more annoying hair ruffling)-- because thats all that really matters.

How did your 3 and 8 ultimately get to know each other after octo expansion? Ice breaker being "we shot at each other a bunch"

8 wanted ( tried) to talk to 3 pretty much immediately post ending, she ended up carrying them on her back to bring them to the helicopter to go to inkopolis and tried to ask them the basics like whats your real name etc. But also wanted to say "thank you for saving me from the blender i think our souls are intertwined forever you are so cool ?? I am absolutely certain of what im saying but also Am i insane to you for saying this sorry i dont understand inkling culture yet" except her poor inklish made her say smth nonsensical . Thankfully? 3 was still so out of it they could neither hear nor answer.

About 4-5 days after she asks marina if she could try to help her get in contact with capn cuttlefish and 3 and while marina has 0 difficulties contacting the capn its a different story for 3, even cuttlefish has pretty much no idea of their whereabouts when theyre off duty. But he organized a meeting for the day since 3 can like actually go to places and not be in an hospital . so the capn invited 8, (it was also a way for the old man to know if 8 was still up for agent work (she wasnt really.))

She goes (with again, marina s help since inkopolis is very overwhelming) once she gets there marina leaves and tell her the basics "call me if you need anything and if someone picks a fight with you tell me and me and pearlie will beat them up etc"

She sees 3 there. The old man, And 4, whom she never met before.

3 looks at her with a look that can be described as very scaredy ish? Regretful. Like looking your insane boss in the eyes after you just broke his golf clubs that are worth your entire annual salary. Like uh oh my life is over.

She tries to greet 3 but is interrupted by 4, who is a huge talker, in spite of the language barrier 4 talks nonstop for 20mins and manages to convince 8 to go live w her because "having a roomie is fun and honestly i havent talked to another being in a while so!! Plus i can show you around inkopolis and stuff, and youll live in the middle of the city compared to pearl s mansion Lol so ull get to explore more easily. Youll have to do the dishes though i hate that stuff takes so much time, as for me ill do the laundry"

-"eh dw abt it just yet"

Then 4 is like hey btw *points to them* this is 3 !! This is so crazy but im 90% sure we actually used to be mutuals on tunablr when we were younger ( energywarning here, asking:what would tumblr b named in sploon universe?) .

Finally 8 gets to say hello to 3

3 is convinced that 8 hates them but this certainty in their beliefs also calms them down enough to offers a friendly normal well adjusted handshake. That is very normal to offer to someone who probably hates you a lot. 8 does not understand the gesture and just grabs their hand and intertwines their fingers together.

Then 8 is just "thank you i am glad to meet you again" .3 looks at her like shes an insane person for a good 10 seconds bc they dont know what to answer but ultimately settles for a "you are welcome, thank for saving me from. well you know. because id probably be dead now." and 8 says "well i would definitely be dead as well ! You know . The blender. Actually a lot more people would be dead if either of us died so, i am glad that we met even if we shot eachother a few times haha" 3 looks very pale by that point

4 asks 3 if they want to be the #2nd roomie but 3 immediately refuses. They say they already have the neccessary accommodations to sleep, 4 assumes the best and drops the idea (a mistake, at that point 3 is pretty much abt to get evicted oops)

Then meeting starts. Boring blabla YAY 8 YOU saved inkopolis congrats were throwing you a party soon :^) do you want to do agent work again no oh well i guess its fair but the door is always open so to speak so you know. ok bye now oh no need to thank me 8 youre the one who saved us blablabla.

8 goes home w 4 and realises she didnt tell marina shed like. Move out so she tells her . Marina and pearl have a wtf they grow up so fast- oh we are being silly arent we but also who is 4 i have to run. 420 background checks actually (turns out to be just some gal that was like extremely bullied when she was younger who either plays viddy games or draws chibis and stuff in her free time)

3 walks back "home" on their own and in their head:

Wishes they could be friend w 4 (but they "cant" because of some insanely self restrictive rules about social interactions theyve put around themself. "Mfw when i cant talk to people because im nothing which is good because no one knows me which means i can just focus on being a good agent and if i die nobody will miss me not that people would even if i talked to them but also-)

Wishes they could properly apologize to 8 (they think on how, their best options seemed to drop on the floor hands n knees and apologize. Which they end up doing the day after their 1st meeting at crusty sean. that or ask if 8 wants to beat them up to "even it out"?? Which they actually end up asking but like 8 says no obviously i want to be ur friend... 3 also asks her later on if she wants to kill them but 8 thought that was just some kind of inkling humor so she laughed at them)

Anyway in the meantime 8 asks 4 if she has 3's personal phone number and she does . So 4 gives it to her.

8 calls them like immediately but gets no responses cus theyre like. Never answering a phone call ever. So she sends them a few messages asking if they want to hang out. Then 4 tells her to include her in the messages cus she wants to hangout w 3 too so she does.

3 sees the messages and is glad they turned off that seen/read warning stuff cus they take like 1 hour to answer since its a battle in their mind between "are you fucking insane there is no way anyone wants to meet up with you its got to be a bait of some sort did her phone get hacked ? (Also what if you get hijacked again. Somehow you are radioactive i bet do not get close to people)" and "are you fucking insane why would you refuse dont be an asshole. If shes asking you its because she wants to probably she just got to the surface she doesnt give a f about inkling customs. Where people do not hang out with people whom they fought mind control or circumstances beyond their control or not. Just go along it wont kill you, and if it does well thats just life"

They end up replying w smth like "ok wht time n where"

And then they all meet up at crusty sean the day after, so thatd be their 1st proper meeting technically post oe.

At the end of it 3 asks 8 "ok so you dont blame me nor you or either of us blablabla but like why do you want to hang out with me genuinely, theres gotta be a reason?? Do i make you feel bad or smth" and 8 is just like no i think you are the cool ! I like you i want to know more of you, i think of you many times . 3 replies oh ok WELL THATS COOL I APPRECIATE IT. GOODBYE NOW lets do this again tomorrow maybe .and runs away

(8 n 4 talk on their way home and 8 mentions that social media friend thing and 4s just like yeah they were a pretty cheerful person back then ?!! Idk what happened they just dissapeared one day.)

Some times later 3 ends up going back on their word bc sleeping in a car is exhausting and they dont care about their dignity anymore and asks 4 if shed accept them as a new roommate. 4 is like omg sure bestie. by that point theyre all interacting w eachother and on friendly term so when they end up all in the apartment its not an issue

-THANK YOU im glad some of my more recent works (in my more current style) are appealing 2 people! like i wanna draw my own way even though i think it gets less notes... the higurashi fanarts (hanyuu and shion) r very memorable pieces to me because its when i started doing the loose sketches with the thin lines and block colors and thats the direction i reallyreally wanted to take my style in. also the rainbow is rian my friend rian

-i draw in paint tool sai! the only program i used before that was sketchbook pro, which i didnt like because the brushes were kind of... blurry/smudgy? sai allows you to zoom in and draw pixel by pixel which is something i like, and i like the way it does its blending. its also just easier for me to understand. i didnt pay for it i think i found some deviantart page that had the link, id have to find it again

-i draw with a wacom intuos tablet! its lasted me... almost 10 years now. ive heard newer ones are poorer quality in terms of at least the nibs needing to be replaced constantly, so idk what the most recommended tablet these days is. ive drawn with my mouse and tbh it caused awful hand pain so i would not recommend this. i draw on my phone with my finger sometimes but i find doing it on my laptop easier, however it is doable once you get used to it

-the way i got into digital art... well. i still have an archive of my earliest art if you wanna see! i was 14 n just drew random shit, often lining over doodles i did on paper and coloring them in. i think esp if youre overwhelmed start with making like throwaway experimental pieces, scribble around, doodle stupid things and color them in with different brushes and see what you enjoy. and then you can just keep the files to yourself if they dont look too good or maybe itll look interesting, it depends i guess haha. the other thing that ive always found helped me was telling myself id draw every day even if it was a little scribble or the tiniest amount of work on a wip bc getting a habit going helped my art a Lot beause it helped me spend more time thinking n focusing on it

more specific advice for sai that i found useful- using clipping groups & the preserve opacity functions are both lifesavers in terms of not spending so much time trying to color in the lines. if you color in a base layer you can just put everything above it as a clipping group and just not worry about it anymore. i also really like using the filters (like multiply) to mess around with the colors a drawing has, though sometimes its more effective to just select a layer/individual color and fuck with the hue/saturation/etc until it looks good. when i color, esp when its not turning out how i wanted to, i rely on shifting colors A LOT. n also mixing colors together using a blending brush and then colorpicking the intermediate color. very useful

-for the most part i stick to uncolored pencil doodles on like, notebook paper (even though i have some fancy supplies X[ one day) but i LOVE making things with clay, wish it was more accessible to do at home. i have a handful of clay animal statues and stuff that i made in my ceramics class in high school. would looove to do more

-because my poses tend to be very pushed/cartoony using references of real people isnt always useful (though obv knowing the basics of anatomy always helps) so in those cases ill use other cartoony art i like as inspiration, i try to see what i like about their poses nd emulate that with my own. sometimes when im struggling ill just do a bunch of studies where i copy art i like to try to get a feel for what im missing. mostly ive realized i like when the pose conveys some level of like, volume and taking up a 3D space (which im still definitely not a master of but bullshitting it can be fun). and i also like to have a balance of curved and angular shapes. sometimes i try to just do a pose that conveys a specific emotion or i just make shit up lol

alsooooo i cant reccomend aimless doodling enough! just random shapes, turning the random shapes into creatures, trying and trying and trying different ways to draw something until you like it, i feel like the things my hand makes when i shut my brain off and just scribble can inspire me as well, and i try to emulate whatever i made by chance while doodling. and if your doodles turn out better in traditional i tend to consider using a photo of a drawing as a way to skip the "preliminary sketch" phase nd drawing a rough sketch over that which i then use for my drawing (or just directly color since i draw very fast/lazy...)

hi i kinda need some advice on how to deal with everything but dw if its too much to help with

i live with my abusive parents, but despite them being very 'chill' the past year or so im still constantly on edge around them, my dad is practically nonexistent to me, i ignore him and have cut myself off from him emotionally, and im still pretty close to my mom as i kinda have to talk to her so often but she can get angry really quickly and want to hurt me so im constantly making sure my tone and wording are always correct and that can be exhausting in itself ngl lol. i work nights, im only slightly on edge around my coworkers as im still a little unsure of them but ik thats just 'fake news' and its just my anxiety talking. the issue is that, when i saw my boyfriend a few days ago, (i left the country and travelled alone), it was heaven. i felt safe 24/7, i got hugs, kisses and affection AND got to give that to him too and honestly, i was the happiest i think i have ever been in my life. i felt so free. then i had to go home, and once i saw my mom at the airport and getting in the car with her, it all crashed down and it was hell. ive only been home 3 days and ive only just managed to settle it down in my head lol its crazy. its just so opposite to being with him. my brain was just acting as though it had been shocked very hard and it was hard to just focus or be happy and i got suicidal pretty quick. i did start my period too, and i get bouts of depression whilst that happens so it really really did not help my situation at all and it sucked lol. i leaned on him a lot for support and it was so so hard to process and i just dont fully understand why. its so confusing as to why i practically had a breakdown when i got shoved back into that environment like i mean ik it makes sense like going from safe to unsafe very quickly can do that ig but i mean more like its just weirding me out a lot lol. i just cant believe i have been so on edge with my parents and how high my stress is all the time at home. id gotten very used to it, and ig a few days without it was enough to make my brain forget about it all. but idk. ik i need therapy or something like that lmao but i was wondering if you could help me understand it a little more and if youve gone through this before and like if i can get some advice on how to get through it a little more smoothly. my bf and i had a talk earlier and he wants me to try learn how to do all that by myself as it exhausts him when he has to help so much even though he wants to help as much as he can. i understand that fully and dont blame him at all for feeling that way, cos yk, hes my bf not my therapist so ik i can go to him for help but sometimes, like the past few days, hes not the best helper for that haha but im just struggling to know the steps i have to take to get to the self sufficient person we both want me to be lol. ik this is probably a lot, im sorry about it, but i hope your day is going the best it can go, thank you for helping us all out 💕

I'm sorry this happened and you had such a strong reaction to going back to an unsafe environment after feeling safe around your boyfriend. This used to happen to me too, and I can really relate to your experience.

When I was still living with my mother, my dad lived half a country away, and every year on summer and Christmas, I would travel alone to spend a few days/weeks with him and his wife. Being with them always felt like an oasis in a desert, and at the same time, it made me forget my mother's abuse. It was... Blissful, but also numb? I don't really know how to describe it. But, if I combine that with my experience with cutting out my mother for good, I can tell you that traumatised brains are experts at repressing all memories of the abuse the moment they feel safe so that you can keep on living without having to process all of it at once, which would paralyse you.

So then of course, going back to the unsafe abusive environment can be really distressing. It's like getting slapped in the face with all of the fear and horror that your brain had already locked away the first chance it got. When you're consistently feeling unsafe, you barely even notice it because your whole being is focused on surviving. But being able to lock that away in the back of your mind, only to have it shoved in your face again? It's absolutely going to mess up with your mind. It's how I felt every time I returned to my mother's house as well. And, in my experience, the longer you spend away from the abusive situation, the more your tolerance for abuse decreases, and the harder it hits you if you're exposed to it again.

I think just knowing that this is a thing that can happen can help you a lot. I'm assuming this was the first time you went through this, or at least the first time you noticed it. First times in any context can be tough, because you can't know what to expect. But, now that you already know this can happen, it won't take you by surprise, and that in itself might lessen the blow a bit.

And now that you know this can happen, you can also plan ahead so you have ways to ride the wave of emotions when it comes. Can you think of anything that helps you during bad trauma moments? Talking to friends, being outside your parents' house? Writing, reading, listening to music? Hiding in a safe-ish space? Personally, it used to help me to talk to friends and vent to my diary about the trauma back when I was in this situation, and also being away from home as much as possible.

I hope you can find things that help you! But I also want you to know that these trauma reactions probably won't go away for as long as you're living with your parents. Brains aren't wired for happiness—they're wired for survival, and it's not realistic to demand them to stop trying to help us survive. So please, be gentle with yourself if you continue having this (or any other) trauma reaction while you live with them. Being self-sufficient is a great long-term goal, but it's absolutely not worth punishing yourself for if you can't get there while you're still actively living in an unsafe environment.

I also want to say that I, too, went through still having trauma reactions around my abuser even after her abuse had "calmed down". I know it can sometimes feel like trauma reactions to being around our abusers aren't justified if their abuse isn't as bad as it used to be, or if we feel like it's stopped altogether. But, nonnie, they are. They're completely justified. Again, it's about survival. These people have shown they can hurt you, so the possibility of it happening again is always going to be there. And your brain isn't going to risk letting its guard down and being defenceless around them.

Idk if you even like mlp, but opinions about what kinda ponies the d4dj girls would be? I got stuck between earth pony and pegasus for Rika and would like to know what you think in general

OOOH dwdw i do like mlp and watched all of it years ago even if i don't post/talk much abt it dw <33 under the cut for it since i maybe rambled a bit ckdnkfncjf, also, since for some of them i used other species (breezies, crystal ponies etc, p much the more 'ponylike' ones) i included v v few of those and one of the main 3 if not wanting to use these others!!

In happy around both rinku and maho are earth ponies! Rei is 100% a unicorn and id also say def a crystal pony of sorts. Muni feels a lot like a breezie to me, but out of the main 3 id say she's a unicorn? She can fit all of the three but i specifically get unicorn vibes for some reason

In peaky, once more, id say two earth ponies with kyoko and shinobu. With esora also being a unicorn crystal pony and yuka a pegasus! i think kyoko could also somewhat fit a pegasus but overall she gives me more earth pony vibes

Saki is a breezie... She just fits the species that aren't the main 3 VERY well. However, if keeping into those 3, 100% unicorn. Ibuki hippogriff and a pegasus in the main 3, i just think she deserves wings <3 noa is a unicorn and while i can see arguments for pegasus towa being made, i think she also fits v v well as a earth pony

I can also see unicorn rika but she's vv much a earth pony to me!!! I can specifically see her having hooves being a different color from the rest of the body (brown, white, orange etc). Marika gives me v strong unicorn vibes and saori gives me strong clumsy pegasus vibes. Yeah, that. She's a unicorn but uses magic to create the illusion of wings on shows. Without funky species though, elsie is a unicorn and weronika and sophia are pegasus!

do you have any tips for practicing drawing? i used to draw a bit but i felt like one day id be getting better but then the other day i wasnt even able to draw a stick figure lol :/

it's okay dw!! drawing tends to go through ups and downs u'll defo get it back :-) i promise you'll get much better once u decide to learn it methodically!! i've enrolled in an art course three months ago and it's what made the big progress for me (tho i still have a loooong way to go) bc they teach us basics and it's three times a week so i'm forced to draw for 9hrs+ a week with guidance so it makes a Huge difference. we started with perspective (one point then 2 points), then moved to drawing a ball and a cone and a cylinder and a cube (bc EVERYTHING resembles these geometric shapes one way or another) making sure to work on the bigger borders and divide the drawing into light and shadow areas and then working on the smaller details. look up classical drawing it's the way to go!! sketch fast sketches a Lot and do the ball-cube-cone drawing anything that can resemble this: (take your time wirh one drawing at least, like a Proper one, draw on bigger paper. we use a3 plus canson (the smooth side not the rough side of the paper)

and look up as many tutorials as u can but make sure they're actually educational and not these silly "how to draw a face in 3 minutes" stuff lol!! oh also look up videoes on hatching and shading in general! and then move to still life draw Anything in front of u like a pot or a fruit etc. look up classical still life drawings (all in pencil) and imitate them. then after ure done with still-life u can really go anywhere. in my art class we started drawing fabric, as in just trying to draw a wrinkled cloth or a wrinkled paper etc. we drew from real objects in front of us such as this: (imitating drawings really helps too)

then we moved to portraits now! start simpler with portraits try to draw a sculpture or anything that's not complicated and that can be divided into geometric shapes more easily. likw this for example:

and then move to proper faces preferably with clear divisions between light areas and shadows bc the contrast really helps u draw. smth like this perhaps?
