Note
Okay, I've gotta say--I love the little notes you put in the tags of your Wo-Chien/Pokemon drawings.
Thanks!
It's mainly because of me thinking about things at the last minute and not wanting to make my Big Mossy Snail LOOOORE posts too long.
I'm glad you like them, though! They're like unknown secrets about Wo that he says to you when there's no-one around.

SPOILERS!!! REFERENCES AND EASTER EGGS IN F&C ep. 10: CHEERS
The finale!
Tumblr media
Pawn Swan! This was another character who first appeared in Steve Wolfhard's post-finale loredump about the 1000+ world. I never expected to actually see him in the show.
Tumblr media
Nuts how this is like the third time we've seen Simon's ass. I love how Shermy is just chilling and playing video games while GOLB lets this random old man take a turn at the wheel.
Tumblr media
This establishing shot of Fionnaworld shows that it's very small. By the time it is restored at the end of the episode, this ominous white border is gone and there are more buildings, implying that it became a complete world.
Tumblr media
I can't believe Gary was thirsting after Scarab in this situation.
Tumblr media
There is a shop called Evergree Flowers; likely a reference to the episode Evergreen.
Tumblr media
This shop window advertises that you can learn to kick bugs. Appropriately enough, Cake kicks Scarab through this shop window while in her Godzilla form.
Tumblr media
The Betty statue has become GOLBetty.
Tumblr media
It should be clear by this point that Casper and Nova are a parallel to Simon and Betty, with all of their decisions being made by Casper with little consideration for Nova due to their unbalanced power dynamic. This is why Simon realises that he should have been more considerate of Betty's dreams, rather than single-mindedly chasing the Enchiridion and the crown.
Tumblr media
The credits confirm that genderswapped Ash is named Ashley. I wonder what happened to her after she fell into the void. Probably nothing good.
Tumblr media
Poor Marshall never gets to finish his songs. Truly he is the genderswapped Marceline.
Tumblr media
The name "GOLBetty" is now canon; Simon uses it in this scene.
Tumblr media
I'm not sure what's happening to GOLBetty here. A loose thread to pick up if this story ever gets a continuation, perhaps.
Tumblr media
Simon steps through several different universes, including all the ones we saw during this miniseries. I'm not sure what this world full of tiny bears is meant to be.
Tumblr media
Some kind of industrial capitalist hell universe.
Tumblr media
This is the Water Park Prank artstyle, implying that Water Park Prank takes place in a separate but canon universe. So Water Park Prank is now canonically canonical! (what a ridiculous phrase)
Tumblr media
Some kind of Jake universe.
Tumblr media
A universe featuring Magwood and his volcano lair, from the episode Evergreen.
Tumblr media
The snail! It's not dead after all. And it's a great way of symbolising a return to regular Ooo, as is the reappearance of the smiley butterfly.
Tumblr media
This was a strange selection of characters. I hope Jay hasn't left his younger siblings on their own if their dad is dead. At least baby Finn won't have to grow up in Vampworld, though part of me liked imagining what that would have been like.
Tumblr media
Fionna mentions that his is her top fantasy. The other two of her top three fantasies were Cake being able to talk and a kingdom made of candy.
Tumblr media
She gets a hammer, like she had in the dream sequence at the very beginning of the miniseries.
Tumblr media
Kheirosiphon goes back to working in a teashop, just like he did on The Drift before he was imprisoned by Scarab. Also Marshall's outfit here is incredibly gay, it's great.
Tumblr media
There is an ad here for a daddy issues themed comedy night. Sounds like Marceline's kind of place.
Tumblr media
Prismo's face glitches for a second. Ominous.
Tumblr media
Simon definitely needs to move out. This is probably an even more important realisation than coming to understand his influence over Betty.
Tumblr media
In the credits of this episode, Simon is finally at peace.
And with that, the miniseries is over! Back to the long wait. Will this be it for Adventure Time? Or is there yet more to come...

Straw Hats Easter Egg Hunt
I know Easter is over but I’ve been thinking about this since Easter. My husband helped. (Why can’t I make the text yellow?)
Hiding the eggs:
Robin, Franky, Jinbe.
Hunting the eggs:
Luffy,Zoro Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper
Luffy- finds the most eggs, and eats all the candy. Has a lot of fun Zoro- gets lost, finds one egg but it’s not one of the hidden ones on the ship. It’s a big rare bird egg. (Luffy asks the bird to join the crew)
Nami- participates because she heard there was money in the eggs. Gives her chocolate to chopper.
Usopp- participates and has a lot of fun with Luffy and Chopper
Sanji- he made the chocolates for the eggs. He wasn’t planning to participate but Zoro harassed him into it by saying “you afraid you’re going to lose to me, curly?” Sanji then does it, not backing down from the challenge. (Zoro thinks he won just because he found the biggest egg)
Chopper: finds eggs, enjoys the chocolate and has fun.
Robin: used her devil fruit powers to help hide the eggs, watches the chaos unfold while reading.
Franky: helped hide the eggs, wanted to modify them to be extra super. Made his hair look like bunny ears.
Brook: played the violin as the timer. Made some bone jokes probably
Jinbe: helped hide the eggs, watched them like the proud dad he is. Probably tried to record them with a video transponder snail or something.
bonus:
Sanji made a big feast per usual. He also wouldn’t let anyone paint eggs in a standard way, due to the not wasting food policy but he made edible paint using vegetable juice.

Post-Series Finale HCs: The Owl House (Spoiler!)
Tumblr media
(From days to weeks) Right after;
—Raine spends time between recovering and pitching ideas to rebuild the Isles, reconnecting with Eda. They find out what music range the Owl Beast spirit cannot handle to avoid making their girlfriend (later wife) go deaf. Happiest they have been in years since the breakup.
—To limited degree, witches can use magic outside their coven sigil now. The sigils cannot completely block other magic-types only just restrict it. Biles sacks are pretty fragile though.
—Several cults/religions tried to start up once people learned King was a living Titan. Eda shut them down before they could get established—the Collector has a few cults too.
—Hooty helps Lilith practice her own Harpy form. Has to catch her several times as the other half of Owl Beast is less sentient(?) than Eda’s own curse. It grows to be a Raven. He finds being in his “Porta-Hooty” mode to be more fun since he can hang out with Lily.
—Alador spends time catching up with his kids. He likes to study how various beasts and animal species are adapting to the raised left arm. (If the Abomination track wasn’t expected of his family, he would have joined the Beast track.)
—Luz does, in fact, keep a portion of her Titan form’s power. Being in direct contact with such immense power has left its mark. She has fangs and magic will spark off her fingers whenever she holds Stringbean. Her shouts are loud!
—The decision to tear down the ruins of Belos’ castle is pretty unanimous. They find several thousands of snails hidden away, remains of the Grimwalkers, and old wild magic texts.
—So much rebuilding to be done. Not just buildings but the entire infrastructure of the Boiling Isles. People outside the main cast wonder what in the realm happened for everything to crazy during the Day of Unity.
—Hunter does some soul-searching in between joint custody of the Nocedas, Clawthornes, Parks, and Darius (plus Eber). There is a lot to unpack in his life after everything that went down. He ponders what being a Grimwwalker means, processes Flapjack’s passing, and what he is going to do going forward. The poor boy is traumatized to high heaven being raised under Belos/child soldier/clone of Caleb Clawthorne.
(Yes. I headcanon that Caleb took Evelyn’s last name or they refer to him by that after finding out what his brother did.)
—Eda jokes about Hunter technically being her and Lillith’s however-many-greats-grandfather.
—Wrath has to go through a redemption arc. Seriously! He sees how much Braxas missed him and begrudgingly accepts that the coven system was wrong. It takes a few years though.
—The Collector does not go straight back to the siblings who left him alone. This idea is argued for by the main cast who want them to spend time being a kid. King begs him to stay.
(I do not know how to write pronouns for a person who has He/him and They/them).
—On a side note, everyone who was ever mean to King is now genuinely terrified of him. :)
—People wonder why the Titan’s left arm is stretched out toward the sky. Even Luz does...
Tumblr media
Four Years Later;
—The concept of carving a palistrum egg has boomed in popularity. Stringbean inspired many people to respect Palismen as individuals.
—Cultural trade between the Boiling Isles and Earth is still tentative. Unfortunately, Andrias’ invasion made humans wary of other realms. (We know ToH and Amphibia share a universe due to easter eggs. Might as well capitalize~)
—Gus secretly eats movie DVDs. He knows that they are supposed to be watched but they taste good. He will eat some on his lunch breaks.
—A president/representative has been put in charge of the Boiling Isles. Democracy is still new so there are a few kinks to work out. Each town has a few spokespeople for them to really give everyone a voice in how things are run.
—Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, Eda, King, Lillith, Raine, and the others are still the main celebrities on the island. Their popularity has finally died down from fan-worship levels much to their relief (Raine, Hunter, & King mainly).
—King keeps discovering glyph types outside his parent/father’s elemental ones. The combo testing can get a little crazy since this is his new magic language! He is really excited to learn it.
—Funnily enough, future students of Eda’s have visited using the time pools. They never say anything too revealing about the future but the subtle picture they paint is chaotic.
—The Basilisks help the Unversity of Wild Magic keep from burning down/freezing/exploding/imploding/getting damaged by wild studies.
—Willow acts as a motivational speaker for young witches and demons in the Flyer Derby off-season. The still-new freedom of magic can be overwhelming in sheer choices to the kids.
—Camila can only handle a certain amount of the Boiling Isles’ otherness. She loves that her first kid found such an accepting second home, really she does! But it is still a lot to take in...
—The Collector took care of the Titantrappers years ago. Only the youngest members are more open to interacting with King.
—Eda still finds it ironic she became a teacher.
—Amity spends her days exploring the world, though she is always a call away from Luz and her friends. She did not expect to fall in love with exploring different Titan-civilizations.
—Viney has interned under Camila to learn about Earth animals. The difference in biology between the two realms plays a part in how she judges treating pets at her mythical pet clinic. Some species react adversely to magic being used on them which she learns cause of it.
—Hunter gives each past Golden Guard a name based on what little he could find about their personalities. He still sees their ghosts but in a “guardian angel” way. Is for sure dating Willow.
...It. It took a while for him to carve Waffles.

I'm sorry if it's improper to ask, but have you got any updates on Snail Traveler? or have you been too busy with other things to work on them?
Also I just wanted to add that I'm a new follower and love your buggy stuff, have a great day ^^
That isn't improper to ask at all. I forgot to update things here after I got busy, so I'll happily say it now- the Snaveler skin is finished!
However, there is more prep work to do behind the scenes before it's ready to be released, and that's what I haven't had the time/energy to complete yet. I have to save a version of the skin for every color option I plan on providing from the start, and I am working with a friend to create a showcase for the skin (that is, a little video demo of the skin). And there's a little easter egg I still have to finish the art for, so I can add it to one of the color options.
So, like, the skin is technically done and playable, but only as a turquoise color snail, when I would like more colors available to choose from upon release. :)
Also, thank you! I hope you continue to enjoy the bugs

Oooh thoughts on Rainworld? I really love the scavengers, wish I could find more people actually talking about them as a neat intelligent species and all the possible interactions instead of the super common clickbait “killing scavenger challenge !!! Speedrun!” which isn’t my personal thing
I love rainworld tho I need to have like all the difficulty modifiers on to give myself a chance at playing aha - I know it’s meant to be a harsh survival, but I struggle even with games meant to be easy or medium/normal. Glad the devs have given me a way to play even tho it’s not “intended experience” bc I love the world and lore!!
I love this game so much. Challenge is a huge motivator for me in playing games, and mastering the complicated movement tech is so satisfying. I got to Moon in eight cycles back in June! Might be able to shave it down to four or five now. I just learned about the expedition easter egg (no spoilers for what it is!) and I'm working at getting at each location.
Scavs are amazing, and I hate provoking them outside of Artificer. Unfortunately you can't interact with them a whole lot, better fulfilled by having wee little slug babies.
Tumblr media
Meet my slug babies, Strawberry and Peaches. Strawberry likes napping. Peaches likes violence. Lil orange bugger got herself shish-kebabbed by a noodlefly mama for eating a baby noodlefly but Revivify mod came in clutch!
I've got twenty billion mods, keeping the spirit of the game without changing its difficulty. Diverse Shelters, Spear Snails, and Emerald's Tweaks and Features among others.
Sorry for the scatterbrainedness, it's getting a little hard to focus.

Mortal Folly Review
Princess Bubblegum has a vision of The Lich. It seems like she checks on him regularly. She decides that Finn and Jake are ready to learn about and see The Lich. They’ve proven themselves worthy over the course of these two seasons, and all the references to past episodes “Mortal Folly” dishes out helps make this feel like a culmination of everything that’s happened. We also get our first of many alternate Finns that foreshadow the loss of his arm. Finn even puts Billy’s gauntlet on his right arm later in the episode. Bubblegum gives Finn and Jake gems that protect them from The Lich’s mind control. We see Finn’s hair has started growing back since cutting it in “To Cut a Woman’s Hair”. I love the attention to detail of Finn’s hair slowly growing and how that helps the audience track in-universe time.
All the gems of power must have the mind-protection ability, as Ice King wasn’t controlled by The Lich, presumably because of his gems. PB should really have a mandatory screening before allowing anyone near such a grave threat. The snail comes out of Finn’s backpack and The Lich compels it to break him free. It’s cool that a background easter egg finally gets to be super plot relevant. If you weren’t paying attention to the snail, this scene may feel a bit cheap. But, if you have been aware of this ever-present snail, this is extra rewarding. This little snail’s actions end up causing profound consequences that are STILL being felt 12 years later.
This gives the writers a chance to build on “His Hero” and expand Billy’s backstory. Billy stopped The Lich originally, trapping him in the amber prison. If Billy has a normal lifespan, what was The Lich doing for the hundreds of years after he was unleashed from the mushroom bomb, but before Billy was born? And why would Princess Bubblegum build her kingdom around The Lich’s prison? I think it makes more sense for Billy to be long living, like Bubblegum is. She must have met Billy before. We NEED a flashback story exploring these events.
Bubblegum takes Finn and Jake to the “other secret room”, which is the same secret room from “The Enchiridion!”, complete with the return of PB’s orb. Princess Bubblegum gives Finn Billy’s (awesome looking) gauntlet. It has six fingers, just like Billy, and we get the return of the “Billyyyyy” scream! This is the most serious we have seen PB up to this point. She gives Finn a sweater, saying it will protect him from the cold. It’s weird she doesn’t tell Finn she made it immune to fire, which must be its true purpose. It’s PB’s most affectionate moment towards Finn and Jake that we’ve been privy to so far.
Ice King unexpectedly butts into this episode, wanting Finn and Jake’s blessing to marry Princess Bubblegum. Of course, Finn and Jake would never agree to this. It’s also weird to want Finn and Jake’s blessing, like if they are Bonnie’s parents. But, this is Ice King we are talking about. I’ve heard people be annoyed at Ice King’s constant interruptions in this episode. I don’t mind it. We are supposed to be pissed at him for constantly getting in the way of Finn’s chase after The Lich, just like how Finn gets increasingly frustrated. It’s also worth pointing out that if Finn simply told Ice King the fate of the world was at stake, he likely would have stopped getting in his way. Ice King’s appearance here really feels like the series passing the torch from Ice King to The Lich as the main villain.
I like Finn and Jake acknowledging that this is their first “fate of the world deal”. It really helps make this feel like their biggest, most important adventure yet. Bubblegum stress eating the ice cream candy person is funny, and the second episode in a row where we see PB consuming candy for her biomass.
Finn and Jake run past the gauntlet dock they built in “Business Time” and to the Lich’s well of power. The episode doesn’t say it, but you can tell that The Lich’s power comes from the mushroom bomb. The green clouds in the title card and in the episode itself are shaped like a mushroom cloud. The well of power is set in the ruins of a human subway. This must be where the mushroom bomb detonated. The green mushroom clouds have an absolutely metal design, bravo to Ian Jones Quartey for designing them. Finn and Jake fight what must be human skeletons and Finn loses his backpack. They confront The Lich as he consumes the radioactive, mutagenic essence of the mushroom bomb. The Lich terrifyingly shatters Billy’s gauntlet with just a shush. It’s a shame, the gauntlet is really cool. It’s interesting that in one shot, The Lich’s pupils resemble the shape of the green catalyst comet (I will die on the hill that “Evergreen” doesn’t contradict The Lich’s origins!).
The Lich blasts Jake, who falls down, breaking Finn’s gem. We get our first of The Lich’s iconic mind monologues. This chill inducing scene really speaks for itself. Like Finn, you almost feel The Lich in your mind. PB’s sweater shields Finn from The Lich’s blast. Finn isn’t quite comfortable enough with his emotions to call it love, but his feelings for Bubblegum are strong enough to snap him out of The Lich’s trance. Finn fights The Lich head on and tie’s the sweater through his sockets. It’s a super dark but creative way to fight The Lich, even Ice King and Bubblegum are shocked. I also just realized how gross it is that he wears this sweater again next season. I really hope he washed it. The Lich just finds this funny and laughs, making this scene even creepier. Finn is able to rip out The Lich’s skull, defeating him. This scene holds up as the best Lich fight and of the best fight scenes of the series.
Completing Ice King’s transition away from main villain, he decides to set Bubblegum free. Unfortunately, he accidentally drops her in the well of power. Is this just another random, purposefully shocking ending that won’t be followed up on or is this a cliffhanger setting up for a two parter? Well, you know the answer, but it’d be a legitimate question for a first time viewer.
“Mortal Folly” is both the most important and best episode of the first two seasons. It introduces Adventure Time’s main antagonist. The Lich is one of the most iconic cartoon villains ever and is the scariest and best of the bunch. His design of an undead, rotting corpse makes for a design that is almost as scary as his voice. Ron Perlman, despite not knowing where he is, does a terrific job playing The Lich. He commands presence and his monologues would not work without him. This isn’t the best or scariest Lich appearance, but it's a fantastic introduction. “Mortal Folly” is a non-stop thrill ride, with the highest stakes and most serious tone this silly cartoon has put out in its classic era. Many people point to this episode as the one where the “real plot starts”. While I don’t necessarily endorse that, there is a lot of truth to it. It introduces one of the few series (really franchise) long throughlines that Adventure Time has.
Grade: A+

So I noticed while watching the Alabasta Arc again (and I'm sure people have pointed this out before me), that when Sanji talks to Crocodile on the transponder snail, the snail swirls are the same as Sanji's eyebrows. This means we got a foreshadowing to what Sanji's eyebrows were like waaayyy before the time-skip. I love noticing these easter eggs Oda gives us 😂

SPOILERS!!! REFERENCES AND EASTER EGGS IN F&C ep. 2: SIMON PETRIKOV
Let me know if I missed anything!
Tumblr media
First of all the title sequence is fucking cool. I don't want to speculate about the various things we see in it, like the apartment getting blown up or the Fern tree growing into its 1000+ version, because I'm sure the show will get round to all that!
Tumblr media
The first scene was an awesome reintroduction to the post-apocalypse, showing us the dynamic between Simon and Marcy. The button popping off Marcy's dungarees was a reference to young Marcy's first appearance, Memory of a Memory, when she removed one of the buttons herself to fix Hambo's eye.
Tumblr media
Simon was show playing a live set at Dirt Beer Guy's tavern in Obsidian. It seems they've gotten to know each other quite well over the past twelve years. Dirt Beer Guy asks Simon if he's read his new book draft, about a character called Joe Milkshake who was first mentioned in the episode Root Beer Guy.
Tumblr media
Despite the fact we saw Jake in the trailers, Finn and T.V. pretty much confirm in this scene that Jake is dead, and has presumably been dead since before Obsidian. I guess Bronwyn wasn't the only Jake descendant who Finn took on as an apprentice, but T.V. doesn't seem all that into it. The Finn and Jake we saw in the trailer are likely from an alternate universe that we have yet to see.
Tumblr media
Finn uses his weed whacker to cut through these bushes. A nice way of showing he's fully recovered from his Fern guilt. The focus here is very much on Simon's problems instead of Finn's.
Tumblr media
Finn parts with Simon to go and visit Huntress Wizard. The nature of their relationship remains ambiguous and I expect it to stay that way.
Tumblr media
Simon has the Island Lady from The Party's Over Isla de Señorita in his phone. I guess they reconnected after he became Simon again. He also has Abracadaniel. I always liked Ice King's friendship with Abracadaniel and the rest of the Order of Giuseppe so I hope they're still friends!
Tumblr media
Cute Bubbline scene. Back in the episode Bonnibel Bubblegum, Mr. Creampuff suggested he and PB get matching tattoos. Now she's (trying to) do the same with the girl she's chosen rather than some guy who was chosen for her! Also Marceline is using the same phone she's been seen with in a few previous episodes, including Go With Me and Be Sweet.
Tumblr media
I think the flying human city is called Up-Ton.
Tumblr media
Choose Goose! He keeps coming back! And he's evil now! People were joking about him being the antagonist of Fionna and Cake after that weird post-credits scene in Wizard City and the fact he was in hell in Together Again. I wasn't expecting that to actually come true. Glob knows why he's hanging out in a cage in Simon's house.
Tumblr media
The pattern of GOLB's eyes is reflected in Simon's glasses during the ritual. He is doing the same dance that Betty was doing to summon GOLB in the finale.
Tumblr media
Among the objects in Simon's GOLB shrine are the Farmworld Enchiridion, the flying carpet that Simon stole from Ash and was later frequently used by Betty, the crocodile clips that Betty used for her magic rituals, two effigies of GOLB, and what looks to be the shell of the snail who was seen throughout the original series.
Tumblr media
In this credits sequence, Fionna and cake are dreaming about the mask being worn by the bear than Finn slew, and a butterfly with a smiley face on it. Perhaps symbolising Finn?
Tune in next week for episodes 3 and 4!
