This was honestly so much fun to do, obviously this will get updated the more the story progresses and maybe i will make a different post for a more detailed background, but it was a blast to make this what you already see here. This is one of two MCs i have and i am starting to work on the second one, pretty soon. I also tried to do something different, cause i let the character actually tell the background, tell me how it came off, was it good, was it bad, honest criticism is always appretiated.

Weekend 23-24/02/2019

The weather was amazing this weekend! It looks like spring has officially arrived over here.

I started my weekend with a MeetUp at the Dallas Contemporary Museum. It’s a small museum, free, with 3 exhibitions. After an hour, you’ve seen everything.

We went to Ferris Wheelers for lunch and got to eat outside. Unfortunately they didn’t turn on the ferris wheel because of the wind.

By the time I got back home, it was really good outside, so I took my e-book and spent some time reading.

In the evening I went to a onesie pub crawl - another MeetUp. Our group was pretty big and we had a lot of fun! We got drinks at 3 different places and ended up at a bar for a midnight snack. I discovered that “ranch” is actually garlic sauce! I haven’t had garlic sauce in 5 months, it was delicious...

I spent my Sunday afternoon outside. The weather was even better than the day before, without the wind. I studied Spanish, I finished my book, took a nap. And only put sunscreen on my face. Did I get burnt? Maybe...

Bestselling author Karin Slaughter talked about her new suspense novel, “Pieces of Her” to a full house last night at Library Headquarters.

Slaughter had the audience in tears, as she shared childhood hijinks and her early attempts at writing. Her father encouraged her to write, he was also a storyteller, and paid the young Karin 25 cents per book. Her sisters on the other hand, weren’t big fans. The author said, “Typically, in my stories, my sisters were both hit by cars and the happy ending was me as an only child!”

On Wednesday I tried to buy a book for my e-reader. I had made an account on Amazon.NL but since I don’t have a belgian Visa, I hadn’t filled in my payment method yet. Paying with a normal card was no option unfortunately.

Long, very long and frustrating story short, I tried all kinds of things. Even bought a giftcard on Amazon.DE because that’s in euros, hoping I could use it on .NL. Seems like .NL doens’t have that option (yet)? Tried to contact the helpdesk - not that simple. Also not available on .NL (yet)? In the end, .DE reimbursed the giftcard, that was a relief. My mom and I figured out how to get me to buy books and so I added my first two Kindle books to my collection.

I started reading in the afternoon and immediately got addicted again. It’s so strange. I know I adore reading! Still, I watch TV more. Is it because it’s easier? Or because watching TV is a family-thing? I don’t know. Anyway, every time I start reading again, I’m wonder, why don’t I read more? This is awesome!

I finished my book in 4 days. On the one hand I wanted to start reading the next book (of the same series) immediately after, but on the other hand I don’t because then I would finish it as fast and that would make me sad. Does anyone recognize this feeling? Ugh first world problems...
