Have you ever tried Aspic, or are you instantly grossed out by the idea of savory jellies? The gelatinous vessel of meats and vegetable. A sensory trick, as your brain overcomes the texture and flavour combination. Is this good? A thing I could like?

Motherthing is an acquired taste. A sublimely weird story of desire for connection as a survivor of parental abuse. It’s about being deeply, tragically lonely and sad sad sad. And the masks we slip on for a semblance of normalcy. The weight of synthetic happiness.

As a person who has no desire for motherhood, I wondered if this book would be for me. I can say that there definitely is a lot to enjoy even without that connection. Take your time with it and savour the jellied salmon.

The Jellicles celebrate Hallows Eve! It's a miniature celebration where the Jellicles celebrate the lives of those who have passed and prepare for the Jellicle Ball!

To honor those who have ascended to the Heaviside Layer, foods and items the felines owned are set out in a special area basked by moonlight.

Adults practice their routines and start nominations of those who get songs during the upcpming ball. Others supervise the kittens and hand out treats to them.

Kittens and youths are dressed up in homemade costumes and enjoy the activities going on around the area! (Adults dress up too!) They have a mini talent show to show off everyone's costumes :3

It's an all-around good time for everybody!

For the Queen fandom -

Seeing Colour Soulmate AU. I have tried and failed to write it! But I hope one day in the future I'll be able to crack it.

I also love the idea of Sherlock investigating something for Queen. I actally started to write it and then was hit with major decision problems. I couldn't decide whether Roger has somehting silly stolen from him, like a gnome, or something more serious, like a musical instrument, something of Freddies or worse, the giant statue of Freddie.

And then I got stuck and it's hovering in "Idea zone", not even in WIP mode!!

What would you do if you came face to face with your high school bully 15 years later?

While on the beach with his son Anthony, Todd sees an outline of a man approach. To his surprise and dismay it’s Jack, the man who made his last year of high school a living hell.

Jack is seemingly unaware of the impact he had on Todd, and demands they grab a bite and a drink to catch up. But a drink turns into him crashing on their couch to integrating himself into Todd and Anthony’s life. And now that Jack’s here it’s impossible to get him to leave.

This book was so fucking tense, every interaction through the dual timelines of Todd and Jack’s history had my guts roiling and jaw clenching. I’m remiss to say too much because there’s a moment where the story hits a switch, and I honestly could not put it down. Really, I read this in one day.

If you want a thriller with a big heaping pile of gory horror this is for you. I told you this book has an all-timer tone shift. This book gets GROSS.

I want everyone to read this, because I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT.

My take on an older Neteyam if some way he was revived. I posted this on Twitter a while ago, but thought I might as well post it here as well.

Alternate versions & the headcanons I had while drawing this are below the cut.

Revived by Eywa/Kiri

The first tattoo he received, rather than the traditional face piece, was his chest/shoulder, symbolizing the phenomenon that was his miraculous rebirth. It extends up his neck and to the back of his head to surround his neural queue. It was closely followed by the face piece that symbolizes his acceptance as one of the Metkayina people after he completed his iknimaya trials. He also has two leg pieces, one on his right leg that extends from the top of his foot to his thigh, and one on his left leg that extends from his ankle to his knee. They symbolize things such as his warrior and hunter status and his forest origins.

After the final war with the sky people was over, he and Loak decided to stay living with the Metkayina, but Jake, Neytiri, Kiri, Tuk and Spider returned to the Omatikaya. There are frequent visits between them.

Despite living in Awa’ Atlu with the Metkayina, he is still very connected to the forest and his Omatikaya culture. Due to this, a lot of his accessories have a mix of Omatikaya and Metkayina cultural touches.

He is a respected warrior in the Metkayina clan, but his clan duties mainly consist of leading the inland foraging/hunting groups and when needed, flying to other Na’vi clans for trade/communications. A relatively new duty as he is one of the few who can ride an Ikran.

He has a spirit brother, a Tulkun named Rokem.

His Ikran is female, named A’hoet.

He mated a Na’vi woman from the nearby Tayrangi clan named Zeyka. He met her while on one of his hunts. As is somewhat typical of the Tayrangi people, she has an independent, free-spirited and a bit fiery personality. But she is also the first-born of her family which her and Neteyam connected to each other with as they could relate their similar responsibilities and expectations.

As of the time of the drawing, he has 3 children with her. (Each of the three shells on his chest guard were picked out by one of his children)

Daughter (6) - Neynawri (Nawri)

Daughter (5) - Seylitsi (Litsi)

Son (3) - Akanuey

He is considered one of the best hunters in the clan and while he is skilled with a spear, harpoon, and gun, he is unrivaled with a bow and arrow. (He and Neytiri often have friendly mother-son bow hunting competitions when he visits the Omatikaya.)
