All in all, I think we can agree one of the many reasons @zoe-oneesama 's Scarlet Lady AU is superior to canon is because it provides something ML does not: catharsis.

This is probably me being biassed by my own opinion of the character, but SL! Lila is infinitely better.

In her AU she still hates Scarlet Lady and it was all but implied had she not been humiliated she would have still tried to manipulate the class into all but becoming her adoring servants, but unlike canon, her anger is fully justified (or at least much more do than in Volpina) and, most importantly, she was given a chance to redeem herself. Sure, she still hates Scarlet Lady with a passion, but this time it's because Scar is legitimately a terrible hero and person who went out of her way to humiliate her and publicly expose her out of sheer selfishness, whereas Marinette's own questionable actions in Volpina were far more nuanced than just mere jealousy, she still tried to be the bigger man/girl and genuinely apologised for going too far and, in the end, it turned out Lila was far worse and more malicious than just a new girl who lied in order to fit in.

Not to mention, Marinette's calling out of Lila is the only reason Adrien is aware of her true colours and our poor girl isn't all alone against her.

In the Scarlet Lady AU, Lila's sometimes petty behaviour towards Scarlet Lady is both a source of comedy and justified, whereas canon has yet another teen be worse than the literal terrorist who neglects and abuses his son, and would much rather get revenge on a literal teenager than save his wife.

And this is actually my main problem with Lila as a character; the utter lack of catharsis she provides. Par contrasts, Zoe's way of solving this it's also the reason why I enjoy SL! Lila so much.

The only time she had to face any real consequences for her actions was Volpina, from then onwards she always gets her way. At least back in season 1 and 2 Chloé would always have Karma bite her in the ass for her actions, but Lila never has any real comeuppance for hers. She always gets the last laugh against Matinette, not a single character takes a look at her and scoffs at her bullshit, an entire season of Alya as Marinette's confidant and there wasn't a single conversation about it!!!

Literally, the only times her lies have been her undoing was either because she had nothing to do with the plot (NY special), it was played for laughs (Startrain), or because it moved the plot just the tiniest bit forwards only to be subverted a few minutes later (Risk).

Personally, as a fan I don't find that complete lack of justice as a sign that Lila is a fearsome foe or whatever, but as a source of constant stress because the characters I've come to care so much about can't do anything against her!!

The most we ever get is her behaviour alienating her from Adrien, but even that is a moot point because the two instances he called her out she was then immediately rewarded for her behaviour by Gabriel and hence, allowed to be closer to Adrien.

Dear God, this got long... So sorry, I guess I was more frustrated about this than I thought. But bottom line: Yeah, I believe in Scarlet Lady AU supremacy

Oh, fully agree! And I'll be going into a whole essay about THAT as well at some point in the near future.

It's just another mark of how well @zoe-oneesama can write and the potential of canon in the right hands.

Okay so, I'm just gonna say this, what Marinette did feels like something Scarlet Lady would do.

Except, y'know, SL would suffer some consequences for her actions, as opposed to Marinette being praised for it.

Bold of you to assume Scarlet Lady would put in the effort lmao!

Actually that comment earlier about satisfying narratives does remind me about the differences in how the Lila plot is handled in Hero Chat vs how it's handled in Lady Luck due to which protagonist Lila is up against.

In Hero Chat, she's against Marinette. And outside of an incident that Chloé and Adrien pulled, her way to handle Lila is through the Truth. She is a good and nice person who believes the Truth Prevails. And she's right! Eventually, everyone connects the dots because they learn other truths. Alya and Nino remember about Jagged having a crocodile. Alix, Juleka and Mylene learn that Mari is Ladybug and therefore LB can't be friends with Lila. Sabrina and Rose have Lila lie to them about things they know are false. Lila is defeated because the power of telling the truth and communicating with your friends and refusing to play her game.

In Lady Luck though? She's against Chloé. Chloé who may be 'good' but is far from 'nice' or 'innocent', and knows she can't just rely on the inherent idea of Truth Prevailing. She is entirely willing to play the same game Lila is, just for Good instead of Evil.

If you don‘t mind me asking, what is it about scarlet lady‘s treatment of poc characters is bad. Zoe is really salty, but most people think the comic has great writing

Max is demonized because of actions in Gamer.

Alya gets demonized and is treated as a joke, especially compared to Lila, who is written more sympathetic and, from what I'm hearing, is getting a redemption Arc.

When in comes to them trying to showing off Marinette's Chinese heritage, it's written into stereotype territory (mostly regardingher Marigold costume, even if I'lladmit Marigold is the only positive i have about SL).

I think it's better to read this post about it since that covers it more than I could.

But like I said, I'm don't care if it has good writing or whatnot, I'm not reading it if the creator is making it out of malice for the show.

I am so, so, SO confused why Alya's accusing Marinette of treating Lila unfairly again in Risk. I mean, shouldn't she KNOW Lila's a liar by now? She KNOWS that Marinette is Ladybug. She KNOWS that Marinette was never friends with Lila, never saved her life as Ladybug. Why is Alya still acting like Lila is a picture perfect classmate who has never lied about anything ever when she KNOWS that Lila has lied about at least ONE HUGE thing?

So we have our first group, doing the classic trio of Marigold, Chat Noir, or Scarlet Lady (with only Chloe being SL)

The second wave of Fox Trot and Koki Marina fans.

And a group of miscellaneous heroes (I forgot to draw Marc and Max TT^TT) these concept sketches are so old that it was before I decided to add ALL the heroes, so, no Purple Tigress, Pigella, Ultimutt, Minotaurox, Comousiner, or Fenice. Though weirdly Ondine is dressed as King Monkey even though he wasn't confirmed in SL yet...?

Well actually it’s not as bad as you think.

It becomes Need a Miracle team au.

-Chloé becomes Scarlet Lady much like in SL au.

-Chat noir is still Adrien, Rena Rouge is still Alya, Aurore is the bee miraculous user Misting (thanks @zoe-oneesama ), and of course Nino is still Carapace.

-Rena Rouge and Scarlet Lady bump heads a lot on who calls the shots. Chat noir is a lot less tired because he has people lightening the work load. But he sort of ends up being the leader because he acts and seems to figure out Scarlet’s lucky charm the most often out of the team. That and, he was tired of the two arguing for leadership.

-Chat noir is a lot less of a flirt because he isn’t romantically interested in anyone on his team. But like Scarlet Lady au, he ends up falling for Marinette. The boy is still sassy, and can tease. But his flirting only appears around Marinette. Which Carapace, being a bro to his boy Adrien, advises Chat noir not to pursue.

- Scarlet Lady’s Fame is mostly because she has miraculous healing and can purify the akuma. Since there are more heroes, Scarlet doesn’t get the chance to claim as much credit. But she does go on the most talk shows and has the most interviews.

-Misting is the most popular superhero in merchandise, it infuriates Scarlet Lady.

-Rena Rouge and Carapace are the love square for a bit. Nino falls for Alya, Rena Rouge crushes on Carapace. It’s quite amusing.

-Fu entrusts Chat noir to be the guardian candidate, because honestly, Scarlet ain’t gonna cut it.

-Misting is a bit showy and confident and briefly has a thing for Chat noir, but once he made it clear he wanted to focus on being a hero, she decided to move on.

-Scarlet Lady’s joke name is Red Janitor.

-Marinette does end up getting roped into trouble, much like Lois Lane. She is of course clever and usually manages to escape and help save the day.

-Marinette gets picked for the Mouse Miraculous by Chat noir.

-Marinette also totally figured out the identity of each hero except for Chat noir. But she keeps it a secret since she figures if someone knows she knows it could be dangerous. Though she does make subtle comments about it.

-Alya runs the Miracle team Blog. Marinette ended up being the unofficial reporter of it with how often she ended up in trouble.

So i have kwami swap stuff up on my blog and i got a like from this person called “Duusudeservesbetter” or something.

and i get curious on the people with usernames like that so i open their page and the first name i see is “PlaggAndAdrienBondingIsTheBestandCosmoIsBestGirl!”

…………………. i think they have a new acc, if you weren’t aware of it. It’s only appearing on the blog side view which leads me to believe its them again.

I just checked after getting this, and it looks like Plaggandadrienbondingisthebest changed her account name again, this time to @Duusuneedsmorescreentime and set her account to private recently, which means now I can’t access her blog at all now and she still won’t give an actual apology to me or any of the other blogs she’s attacked. This is most likely in response to @harriyanna​, one of the more prolific Miraculous Ladybug blogs on this site to be harassed PAABITB calling the police as a result.

However, one of my followers was generous enough to share a couple screenshots from her blog recently, which featured the standard Adrien worship, a couple posts about Sonic X (another show she really likes), and, of course, treating Marinette and Alya like they’re pure evil.

I personally love how she reblogged fanart of Alya using the Peacock Miraculous (the artist was taking Kwami Swap requests) just to call it “disturbing” right after she reblogged fanart by the same artist of another character using it and was very happy to see it.

And that was after she called Lady Noire a certain derogatory term usually associated with… let’s be generous here and say older, more promiscuous women, even though Marinette is fourteen years old.

Yes, she actually said that about Marinette. Say what you will about the character, but I don’t think she’s deserving of an insult that lewd.

In fact, I think I get why she hates the very sight of Lady Noire so much. She has made it clear in almost all of her posts she loves Plagg and Duusu as characters, and especially loves Adrien and Plagg’s bond, so the very idea of Marinette and Alya using the Cat and Peacock Miraculous feels like a personal attack against her.

And of course, I’d be remised to mention that even after everything that she’s said and done, she still thinks she’s the victim whenever people talk about her.

Look, you’re not just defending Adrien, PAABITB. Believe it or not, you are also guilty of harassing random people, and just two weeks ago, you tried to impersonate harriyanna​ to make her look like she was racist, even though you couldn’t convincingly recreate her typing pattern (she normally types with no caps for one thing), sounded nothing like her, thought asking someone to unfollow Harriyanna would work without thinking the real one could just block someone if she was actually racist, and claimed to be her while anonymous and unable to back up your point while doing a piss-poor job at actually acting like a racist.

Seriously, you managed to make Chris-Chan’s JenkinsJinkies persona look like an undercover CIA agent in comparison.

While I used to at least try and defend you or at least try and reason with you, you’re the only reason you’re in this current predicament. I literally asked you why you felt the need to attack other Miraculous Ladybug blogs after you pretended to apologize to me, and you just gave a vague explanation about your “struggles” without actually owning up to your actions. The whole reason so many people like Hariyanna are “harassing” you, as you so bluntly put it, is because they’re sick of how intolerant you are about other opinions in this fandom and all the things you’ve done to slander anyone you don’t like.

And, just one more thing before I end this little post.

If you’re going to call out something I said in one of my posts, at least say my name so your followers at least know who you’re addressing instead of sending these vague threats towards me.
