I saw that @bluedaddysgirl had submitted a strill to ArtFight and felt suddenly inspired to make something tying the hermaphroditic nature of strills to thoughts about gender equality and warrior identity in Mandalorian culture.

The First Warrior--male and female at once--gives the power of their dual principle to the strill Sketti to keep safe before the final battle of the epic with the enemy. Sketti becomes hermaphroditic and the ancestor of all strills, and the First Warrior is forced to split into two bodies, one male and one female. While split in two, the enemy cannot be decisively defeated, but neither can the First Warrior. Their fight plays out eternally across the universe in the wheeling of stars overheard, while the strills hold this innate power that's no longer accessible as it was in the original, literal way of the story, but is still very much accessible in others.

The drawing is inspired by Greek pottery.

Set the oven's temperature to 375 degrees. In a large pot or Dutch oven set over medium heat, melt the butter and add the carrots, onion, celery, and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions begin to sweat. Add the finely chopped garlic. Cook for an additional two minutes. 3) Include 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast, 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon each of garlic, onion, and smoked paprika powders, 1 tablespoon of optional mushroom powder, and 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce or vegetarian Worcestershire sauce. Stir well. Add a splash of water, and stir again. Cook for 1 minute. 4) Include the tomato paste and blend thoroughly. Simmer for one minute. 5) Include the marinara sauce and crushed tomatoes. Add plenty of black pepper for seasoning. After bringing to a boil, simmer for 30 minutes while stirring now and then. 6) Prepare the spaghetti in the interim. After draining, cover with olive oil, and let cool completely (It is best to refrigerate). When cool, transfer the eggs to a sizable bowl and thoroughly whisk. Add the 1.5 cups of cheese and the spaghetti. Mix thoroughly to blend. 7) Turn off the heat and remove the sauce. Stir well after adding the spaghetti, egg, and cheese mixture to the sauce gradually. 8) Coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with oil. After adding the spaghetti mixture to the dish, level it out with a spatula. Place the remaining cheese on top of it. To make the cheese brown and bubbly, bake it uncovered for thirty minutes and then finish it under the broiler.

Sometimes I think about how Kai made his way out of an inferno by accepting that being the green ninja wasn't meant for him but that didn't make him any lesser while Morro died in an inferno because he couldn't let go of the idea of being the green ninja and viewed it as his only source of worth.
