Summer Sunsets

There are a few things that often preoccupied Langa: skateboarding, pronouncing things right, work, Reki. Reki. Always Reki. The pretty boy that somehow had wormed his way into Langa’s mind. And such a thing wasn’t new to Langa; any boy that gave him as much attention as Reki did was bound to do things to his little heart, but the way Reki flooded his sense, now that was new. It was so new, the way that his smile made Langa’s heart flip or the way the sound of his voice became the center of Langa’s world. Reki had become Langa’s everything, and what had he done to find himself there? What had he done for Langa to know nothing but how to fall for him a little more with each passing day?

With a hand over his heart, Langa could feel the irregular beating deep in his chest. He could feel the echo of Reki’s name inside of him, feel it pounding in his bones. When was the last time a crush had driven him this crazy? When was the last time a crush had left him feeling this alive? Never. The answer was probably never. Langa would have remembered if there had been another Reki in his life. Langa would have remembered the boy, but no one compared to the brightness that was Reki’s smile, his voice, his presence, his heart. Nothing could compare to the beauty that was the boy that stood before him.

A smile pointed in his direction, Langa couldn’t help but get closer. How could he resist such an invitation, a hand extended towards him? How could he resist letting his hand rest in Reki’s, letting calloused palms scratch against of skin? It was impossible to refuse such an opportunity. For all Langa knew, it was the only time it would happen.

“C’mon man!” Fingers curled around Langa’s, Reki’s grip tightening and tugging him along. “If we take any longer, we’re gonna miss it!”

“Where are you even bringing me?”

Amber eyes shone under the darkening summer sunlight. Beautiful amber eyes that had Langa’s heart flipping in his chest. Gorgeous amber eye that had Langa tripping over his own feet. And the smile. There were no words to describe the smile.

“Already told ya, it’s a surprise! Now stop asking questions and c’mon!”

And with that, the eyes, the smile, the look, it was all gone. Or at least, it was out of Langa’s view as Reki sped up, now running rather than his previous light jog. But his hand was still in Langa’s, his grip just as firm. He wasn’t letting go of Langa’s hand any time soon, not that Langa was complaining about that.

“It’s gonna be awesome, dude! You’re gonna be so—”

A smile. Reki’s smile. And the motion of an explosion with his free hand. And laughter. A light, almost shy kind of laughter falling from Langa’s lips, the type of laughter that made his cheeks burn red because of how ridiculous he felt whenever it came out. He hated the way it sounded, pitchy and uneven, but when Reki grinned at him, that crooked, toothy grin, Langa just couldn’t help it. He couldn’t help the sounds that escaped him, sounds that just made Reki grin even wider.

“It’s gonna be so freakin’ awesome, you won’t know what hit you! Like! Like!”

It was almost as if he were vibrating with excitement. Shining even. Reki easily got excited, but never like this. His excitement never coated him with a shine, something so special and so fitting. Passionate. He had always been so passionate. He had always been so determined. He had always been so beautiful.

“It’s right…” A tug, pulling Langa closer as he pointed ahead. “Here.”

“Reki, this is…”

Pinks and purples and oranges swirled around the sky. Gold as well, outlining the clouds that floated by. Beauty coated the world, but nothing compared to the sunset that colored Reki’s eyes. Pinks and purples and oranges, all gorgeous in the vast beyond, but even prettier over the amber of the boy’s eyes. The world had nothing on Langa’s world.

“Reki, I…”

Sunsets on oceans knew nothing of Langa and Reki. Sunsets sinking into the ocean knew nothing of the heartbeat that pounded as Reki stepped closer, his shoulder bumping against Langa’s.

“It’s pretty, right?”

Another toothy grin as the boy turned his head towards Langa. Another shine in his eyes, a shine brighter than the sun could ever shine. What could ever compare to the beauty that was Reki?

“Yeah, it’s really pretty.”

It was a difficult task peeling his eyes off Reki, but he had to follow the boy’s gaze. He had to look at the sky. He couldn’t keep staring at him. He couldn’t risk being caught staring, his heart wouldn’t survive the embarrassment that would entail.

“Yeah, yeah, it’s so pretty. Kinda like—”

Quiet fell, Reki’s caught between those crooked teeth that had been smiling just a moment ago. Uncertainty clouded those amber eyes, dulling their natural shine. Something had gone wrong. Something had stopped Reki from being himself. Something that Langa didn’t understand. What could have happened for Reki to stop smiling? What happened for his voice to choke the way it had?

“I… I thought maybe if I showed you something beautiful, you’d… If you… Ugh!”

Langa’s breath hitched as Reki dropped his head in his hands, his fingers tugging at loose locks of his red hair. Panic flooded through Langa, crashing against his ribs as he felt helpless watching Reki.

“I’m so stupid! Of course this ain’t gonna work! I’m so dumb!”

“No!” Amber eyes peeked through loosening fingers. “No.” Softer this time. Less panicked this time. “No, Reki. You’re not stupid or dumb. You’re never stupid.”

“You don’t even know what I’m talking about, man. How can you say I’m not stupid when you don’t know?”

“Because you’ve never been stupid. You’re so smart, smarter than anyone I know. Smarter than even Cherry and… and nothing can change that.”

“No, no, I’m… But I… Because I…”

Heat flared in Langa’s cheeks as Reki’s eyes fell for a split second. Both must have matched in burning color, but that stayed a guess as the amber eyes could no longer be used as a mirror. But if Langa knew himself, he knew that his blush wasn’t concealed, brightening his face just as Reki’s did.

“I— I’m sorry! I…” Amber, shadow, amber. Reki’s eyes flicked all around, unable to pick a spot. “I, I didn’t mean to…”

It was stronger than him. The urge to slip his fingers through Reki’s, stopping the boy’s fidgeting, it was stronger than any impulse Langa’s ever had. And perhaps he shouldn’t have. Perhaps he should have dropped the subject, but it was too late now. It was too late, his fingers already tight around Reki’s, his eyes fixated on the amber that had become his world long ago. It was too late to back out now.

“You didn’t mean to what, Reki?”

“I didn’t mean to…” Rise and fall, his breath hitched with every choked word. “I didn’t mean to do… Langa…”

“Reki.”

Smile. What more could Langa do than smile as he lifted Reki’s chin? And while he had never been the best at reading the room, this time, he was pretty sure he knew what was happening. And if he was wrong, then he was ready to jump onto the next flight back to Canada, change his identity, and leave his life behind.

“You can do it, Reki. Please.”

“Langa, I…” Another deep, shaky breath. “You won’t hate me if I told you that I like you? Like… Like you? Please don’t hate me… I…”

“Like you too. I like you too, Reki. So, so much.”

The words tumbled out of his mouth faster than his brain was processing them. Was he rambling at this point? Maybe, but he couldn’t tell. Everything was buzzing in his ear, especially the noise that sounded far too much like a distorted version of his own voice. Everything was loud but the quiet was worse. Everything was happening, everything Langa had dreamt of for weeks, months even, but everything was happening differently from the way he had planned. For one, he wasn’t the one initiating the confession.

“And you’re so great and smart and how could I not like you? You’re just so—”

“Langa! Dude!” Langa felt the heat flare up once more as calloused palms touched his lips, but there was no way he was redder than Reki. Amber eyes had grown wide but slowly relaxed as they were cast aside. “Man, who woulda thought that a confession is all it took to get you to talk so much. Always so quiet until…” A smile tugged at the corners of Reki’s lips as he glanced at Langa. “Would’ve done this months ago if I had known.”

“What?” Langa furrowed his brows as he lowered Reki’s hands from his face. “Wait, do you mean… You don’t…”

“No! Yes! No! I didn’t—I like you! I like you! I, I’ve liked you for months! Just…” Reki ducked his head, his eyes glancing up to meet Langa’s. “I just didn’t know how you’d react so I… I didn’t say anything for a while.”

The sincerity in Reki’s hesitant smile left Langa melting. It left him grinning. It left him falling for Reki like he’s never fallen before. Falling into his arms, a hug tighter than he’s ever hugged the boy. Sincerity, that was all it took.

Silence enveloped the two as they stood there, melted into each other. Silence fell, a silence more comforting than it had ever been. Silence, it was better than the endless rambling that had left Langa earlier. But it was also dangerous. Silence, the perfect place for Langa’s thoughts to overwhelm him.

“Langa?”

He’d fallen too deep. He’d fallen too fast. He hadn’t thought about what could happen after this. None of his scenarios had gotten this far. They had always stopped before Imaginary/Hypothetical Reki would say anything to him. Langa had always focused on what he would say, never on what would be said to him. And now, how was he supposed to act? What was to become of them? Did they just continue being how they were before? Were they changed forever?

“Dude, you okay there?”

Feelings had always been such a messy thing. Feeling things always made living so difficult. But feeling things also made it easier to keep living. Every time a butterfly would flutter in the pit of his stomach, Langa would be reminded why he was there. Every involuntary smile would take a weight off his conscious. And some days, those butterflies were what would make him completely forget what had gone wrong in the past. Those butterflies, they felt like a new life blossoming from within.

“Langa!”

The jolt snapped Langa out of his spiral, the world greeting him with summer sunset eyes. Soft looks that had never felt as comforting as they did now. Soft calloused skin traced circles against his cheek, a light touch that matched the feeling of the eyes. Feelings, no matter how messy they could be, feelings were good. Langa liked feeling things. He liked feeling this.

“You good?”

Langa nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. “Yeah. Couldn’t be better.”

He hadn’t meant it, he hadn’t meant the glance down, but it was too late. He hadn’t meant to get caught on the curve of Reki’s lips, but there he was, wondering about one last feeling. And as the sun set, eyes fluttering shut, there was no helping what had already been done.

“Can…”

“Please.”

It felt so natural, the slight lean down. It was as if he had done it a thousand times before, the light contact of soft lips. It was as if there was nothing else he was meant to do, but as Reki pressed a kiss back, everything felt right. A world of color exploded as Langa squeezed his eyes shut, basking in the warmth of the remains of sunlight and of the kiss. Butterflies burst throughout his body he held Reki close, savoring the taste of the kiss. Feelings. Feelings flooded right through Langa and nothing had ever felt better than the feeling of Reki’s lips against his.

There were so many things that preoccupied Langa, skateboarding, pronouncing things right, work, but none of those things compared to Reki. Reki. It would always be Reki, Reki that drove him crazy. It would be Reki for the rest of his life, Reki for the rest of forever. If there was one thing Langa was sure of, it was that he would be loving Reki infinitely.

The base was a flurry of activity, joyful laughter and relieved tears filling the air as it hit everyone at once; Reki and Langa had defeated Emperor Ainosuke, Starkiller Base had been destroyed, and the Rebellion won. The war was over.

Oka felt that same sense of relief, and was endlessly proud of Reki and Langa for all they’d done, but as he jumped out of his X-Wing and began pushing through the crowd, there was only one thought on his mind— finding Hiromi, and finally, finally, telling him the truth.

Up ahead he heard Sketchy beeping excitedly, and his heart skipped a beat before the crowd parted just enough for him to see Hiromi— face smeared with dirt and grease and clearly exhausted but otherwise uninjured— and suddenly his heart was in his throat.

They met in the middle, colliding with all the force of a comet hitting a planet, and Oka laughed with shaky relief as Hiromi’s arms wrapped around him, strong and steady and tight. Around them, the rebels celebrated, but Oka’s world narrowed to this, his hand buried in Hiromi’s hair and Hiromi’s chest shaking with laughter against his, and when they broke apart, the words he’d waited so long to say burst out of him.

“I love you!”

Hiromi smiled as brightly as the two suns of Tatooine, and leaned in to kiss Oka.

Ace Attorney Wrightworth fanfic. Takes place during the trilogy and follows Edgeworth’s POV as he tries to make peace with the fact that he has Hanahaki disease because of a ~certain defence attorney~. His platonic relationships are a big part of this, too.

Original work, created with my little sister. It doesn't have a plot yet... but if I had to summarise it in some way, I'd say it's a steampunk-airship-pirate-adventure with many characters.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

You bet! I love getting comments, especially on older fics. Usually people don't comment on drabbles or don't comment in certain fandoms, and receiving comments on those fics make me feel like I made it. lol

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I'm not sure! I guess I'll go with 'He waits.' [Harry Potter, Snarry, 300 words, Rated M]. It's an expansion on a microfic I wrote for Microfic May. Infidelity + First Person.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All of my fluff fics! I've written tons. But I guess I'll say my most recent fest fic -- Invisible String [Harry Potter, Snarry, 3.7k, Rated G].

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Once or twice. Then I turned off guest comments. If people want to leave hate, they need to be logged in so I can block them. 😈 YKINMKBYKIO, DLDR and SALS, people! I do occasionally get weird comments. They get deleted, too.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Not usually. I'm more of a G-T rated girl, cause apparently if I write smut, I'll go dark. [Link leads to my HP Kinktober works. Mind the tags!]

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not yet! But I did write fusion fics/inspired/AU fics before.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I write drabbles. I don't think people will steal those. Right? 🥺 [Please, don't steal. 🙏]

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've written fics that has art, but I've never co-written a fic before. I feel like I'll be too controlling or I'll be MIA. There's no in-between. 🤣

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Thorki, my love! I'm still waiting on the sun to shine on them again. BUT WHEN, MARVEL? WHEN? You might not think it's Thorki given how little I've written for the ship, but I'm Mr. Knightley. If I loved [them] less, I might be able to talk about [them] more.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Restoration [Harry Potter, Snarry, Rated M]! My only WIP fic. One day! And I guess my Interacting with Unusual Creatures series [Fantastic Beasts, Gramander, Rated G]. It's suppose to be a 5+1 Things fic. There are only two moments. 🤣

16. What are your writing strengths?

Packing a (emotional) punch in as little words as possible. Did I mention I write drabbles? lol

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing anything longer than 2k. It's always a *struggle*. Don't come to my AO3 account looking for a 100k plot-heavy fic. You'll be mighty disappointed.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

You do you!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Teen Titans (the Cartoon Network series) and the X Files. You will never see them. Ever. 🤣

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I don't have an absolute fav. I have been thinking lately about a coffeeshop AU fic I written --- Warmth [Harry Potter, Snarry, 1k, Rated G]. I might write a sequel for that.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 91

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 437,726

3. What fandoms do you write for? TGCF obviously is the main one, and Tolkien fic is something I regularly write because it feels like going home. I dipped my toes into Genshin fic this year and I've been known to randomly drop one-off fics for other fandoms when the brainworms hit!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

After Hours. The magnum opus. Deserves its place at the top.

I Want to Ki** You. I never expected this fic to get so popular so it amuses me that it's still near the top.

Further Precautions. Dumb humor win!

Carved in bone, heart engraved. The trope inversion amnesia fic!

Bet On It. So near and dear to my heart that I have spent the last two years trying to scrub off the serial numbers for publication and if that ever happens, it'll be amusing to see who recognizes it.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I used to, but then a depression era hit and now I have Inbox (666) and it fills me with dread to look at the number. I do read each and every comment and 9 times out of 10 I start tearing up even if it's something short like "loved this, thanks!"

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I'm too sappy to do actual unhappy endings, but Still Have Time sort of implies a cycle of toxic breakups that can't be fixed.

... I also forgot that I have that one Celebrimbor/Annatar pre-torture fic, which is objectively much worse than breakups now that I think about it. Does it count when Tolkien is the one who wrote the death-by-torture ending for Tyelpë, though?

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of them!!!!! But I'll nominate Money Maker, because it's the only fic I think I have ever written, for any fandom, that involves the couple getting married at the end. I bullied them so hard in this AU that I decided they earned it.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Never in the comments themselves, but I saw people being dicks about my writing on Twitter every now and then, which is the unfortunate downside of having a well-known fic in fandom. Not everyone has to like my fics, but like... I can see what you're saying on the public forum in the community that I myself am active in, guys.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? *gestures at my AO3 profile*

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? The most I've done is throw in a cameo from other MXTX fandoms, and I guess that one self-indulgent Sk8/tgcf fic that lives in my drafts and will never see the light of day. I just don't find "they meet!" to be enough of a plot to be worth reading or writing. The thought of writing all that introducing sounds like hell, sorry.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yup, there was that time the person almost word-for-word replicated Still Have Time. They claimed it was an accident and apologized before taking it down when I commented, but that wasn't fun. I felt like a jerk for commenting even though it was blatant theft; they even left kudos on my fic :/

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, I have a handful of my fics translated into Russian thanks to some Twitter pals!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Sadly no. I always thought this would be fun, though, so if anyone wants to try it sometime... just sayin'........ my inbox open....

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? 300,000+ of my AO3 wordcount is for Fengqing and they're always going to be one of the most specialest ships ever for me for many reasons, but I also feel like I have to give a shoutout to Maedhros/Fingon in Tolkien fandom for being my longest-running ship? I got into them in high school and they're the ship that I feel I can just sit down and write something for them whenever I want.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? There was that Fengqing police AU I started and I thought it would be good, but it ended up not really feeling like them and that was part of what pushed me to focus on original writing instead of fanfic this year. Funnily enough, I Frankensteined some of the concepts from that AU into Constellate, which is to date my only unfinished WIP on AO3. I never really had a plan for what I was doing with that fic and I thought I could just power through it, which failed miserably.

16. What are your writing strengths? Humor, probably! It's hard to be funny in writing, but I do try.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I have about a year's worth of fic that needs to be line edited and reposted because I was cueing--sentences like "He felt that he was afraid" rather than "His heart pounded in his chest" etc. A writing teacher pointed it out to me this summer and I've been consciously trying to fix it, but I know a lot of my fics are worse because of this.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I never see this done well in fic. Personally, if I'm writing Chinese characters in China in an English language fic, it's implied that they're speaking Chinese, so there's no need to stick "Hao jiu bu jian" in quotation marks, yknow? It only makes sense to change languages if it's implied that this section of language is different from the rest of the narrative, and even then it can be distracting in a bad way to have it written out rather than saying "'Hello,' he greeted in French."

19. First fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings probably. I'm not going to look at my FFN profile to check.

20. Favorite fic you've written? I have lots of favorites for lots of reasons, but I'll give a shoutout to No smoke without fire this time because it's my only OC-centric fic and I'm happy that people like it anyway even though OCs aren't really a thing in danmei fandom.

Langa had never given much thought to kissing before. For most of her life, her thoughts had been almost entirely consumed by snowboarding, and then her father’s death, and then skateboarding. If someone asked what boys she liked, or when she was going to start dating, she brushed them off, saying it didn’t matter to her.

Some time ago, I was scrolling through your One Piece tag, and I saw an anon ask what would happen to Doflamingo's kid after he got imprisoned. You answered that the kid would most likely be arrested, and it got me wondering: would they (Doffy Jr.) be put in jail (imagine being ten or something and getting a life sentence, haha) or would the World Government try to brainwash them to be their loyal government dog? You also mentioned that there would be a possibility if they were young enough that Viola or some other person would adopt them, but who would want to take care of Doffy's kid? Wouldn't the public be wary of them and the possibility that they'd grow up to be like their father?

On an unrelated note:

Do you have any Shōnen anime series that you can recommend?

I’ll post the head canons in a bit! As I’ve been making this post I’m realizing that I do not fully understand the genre of Shōnen. There are a lot of shows I like that are classified as such that I wouldn’t have assumed go on my list. So here we go!!

Sports Anime

-Most of these have the same plots. I don't think it's bad, but that also means I enjoy most of them. I'll list I few that I enjoy but these are not all of these.

-Sk8 Infinity, Haikyuu!!, Yuri!! On Ice, Free!, Keijo (nsfw), Run With The Wind, Chihayafuru

The Classics

These are shows that I would consider staples of the anime community. A lot of these are from the 1990-2000's. I'm sure some of these haven't aged well but they are nostalgic. This age of Shōnen also has a habit of being what I originally thought of Shōnen being. Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Naruto are good examples but I personally prefer One Piece out of those three.

-Soul Eater, Black Butler, Gintama, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, InuYasha, Sinbad, Magi (Sindbad is a prequel to the Magi series), Cells at Work

The Modern Age

These are shows that have come out within the last five years or so. My younger audience/audience newer to anime may recognize these titles.

-Vinland Saga (extreme violence), The Promised Neverland (I can only recommend the first season. Season two sucks), Kakegurui (nsfw), Tokyo Revengers, The Ancient Magus Bride, Fire Force, Record of Ragnarok

Honorable Mentions

These shows are either highly popular or interesting that I don't enjoy as much. These shows aren't bad, they just don't mesh with me very well. Dr. Stone, for example, is highly scientific and it makes me feel unintelligent. I also find Jojo's art style nauseating. I have extreme motion sickness and the animation just makes my stomach hurt.

1. How many works do you have on ao3?

91 on my main, 32 on my short works acct!

2. What’s your total ao3 word count?

748,078

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Mainly anime/manga fandoms, but I hop around based on my current interests. My top fandoms by work count are tower of god, hxh, and sk8, but I've mostly been stuck in bsd hell since last year so until that gets under control that's where I'll be!

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

I actually stopped checking stats (like got a skin so I can't see it unless I go to my stats page) so yeah! let's go with my top 5 fav fics right now instead!

backsliding: bllk, nagireo, 4k, rated t. exes fake dating in front of their friends to avoid having to talk about why they broke up, AGAIN. it's so fun!

Collateral Damage: hxh, killugon, 9k, rated t. aka when Bisky said to Killua “you can’t stay with Gon”, but for real. aka my heart broke writing this goddamn it.

Inevitably; daiya, miyumei, 30k, rated e. my love letter and ship manifesto for miyumei through canon. you know when writers say they wrote in a trance fugue state fueled by love and lack of sleep? this was me. loved every moment!

you're my mortal flaw (and I'm your fatal sin): yuumori, sherliam, 17k, rated m. the hunger games sherliam au of my dreams. this was an absolute joy to write all my fav parts of the hunger games au without having to learn how to write action. vibes and feelings only!!!

you are the magic in me: tog, khunbam, 60k, rated m. the hogwarts au that got me through the pandemic and fully back into fandom after a long hiatus. this will always have such a soft spot in my heart. it gave me so much joy to write and led me to meet so many amazing fandom friends, for which I will always be grateful <3

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes, I try my hardest to reply to every one. I'm a lot slower now than I used to be, but I do treasure them!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

it's ironic that people knew me for fluff and now I don't know how to write fluff and have to pick between MULTIPLE angsty fics. Probably Collateral Damage right now, since it made ME feel bad writing it ;-;

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think you are the magic in me or skyfall were both pretty long fics with a well-deserved happy ending that I knew I wanted the characters to have!

8. Do you get hate on fic?

I've gotten a bit here and there, mostly on my e-rated fics when I venture into more 'problematic' categories. It sucks, but I'm less affected by it now than I used to be.

9. Do you write smut?

Yeah, once that door was opened there was no closing it back up haha. Honestly, it's pretty fun when I'm in the mood to write it, especially shorter scenes where I can just turn my brain off a little.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I've written a short crossover called What a Steal on my alt account where Gojo and Reigen meet and Gojo tries to recruit Mob. I don't think I have enough brainpower to map out a true crossover but this short one was fun :D

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so, and I hope it stays that way!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have a few! Not all of them were completed, but I always find it touching that people took the time to start! Same goes for podfics and art, just so touching <3

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've done a collab once where the general plot was mapped out per chapter and we had 6 authors and 6 artists where each of us got to craft a chapter! It was called Infinite Road where Reki & Langa travel across Canada together and it was ultra sweet and fun. Fandom is so amazing and I was honoured to be invited into this labour of love.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

ouch. ouch ouch ouch. This is too hard. BUT if I had to pick one ship that encapsulates everything I want in a ship though, it would have to be Mark/Eduardo from The Social Network. I have yet to find another ship that has so much potential on all fronts and go through the full spectrum of human emotion depending on which era you put them in. Also that fandom still has the best fic I've ever read, hands down, even if a lot of it has been wiped from the internet, it lives in my head rent free - truly foundational, lifechanging shit.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but probably won’t?

the guilt. the guilllt. I have a ton of khunbam WIPs lying in a graveyard that I don't even want to open up again because I'd feel bad. I also really wanted to finish the miyumei royalty AU of my dreams, and I even outlined it, but it got outrageous and the fandom is pretty tiny so unfortunately I lost motivation :(

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'd say exploring character! It's the main reason I read/write fic and am in fandom in general. Make me fall in love with a character and you've got me for life.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Having a coherent plot, action scenes, finding balance between too much or no dialogue, transitions... def more where that's from and that's okay! I know what I'm not good at, and if I had the time I'd think more on how to improve. But now I just think hey, it's a precious hobby of mine and instead of working on my weaknesses, I'll just ignore them and write the way I like to write :D

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't think I'm confident in doing much more than a word or two in Japanese lol personally. I think it can be done artfully and I love it when it's pulled off well!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Card Captor Sakura I think! At least published and not like, just in my head. It's on FFN somewhere, I pretend it doesn't exist, as with the rest of my FFN stuff.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

It'll probably be you are the magic in me for a long time, but these days I still think of when and how I'll finish silence strikes like a hurricane. Can't believe I broke my rule about posting an unfinished multichapter WIP. I have an ending but no clue how to get there. oopsies.
