Bianca let out a cry of relief that Kiril had left Tomas more or less unscathed, the worst thing that he would have was a black eye, Kiril really did go easy on him.

"We're keeping the baby, it's mine! You have nothing to do with it, understand?" Kiril muttered, so quietly that even my vampire ears struggled to hear him.

"But-" Tomas began to protest, but Kiril was having none of it.

"You've done enough damage, you can't have the kid! Bianca and I will raise it as our own! You owe us that much!" Bianca sobbed when she heard this, clearly he'd not talked it over with her, but she was overjoyed that she wasn't going to lose her husband over her...mistake.

"Ohhhh Kiril!" She exclaimed and threw her head back, taking a deep breath, one she'd no doubt been holding the whole time Kiril and Tomas were brawling.

"I will do as you ask!" Tomas agreed sadly, I would be lying if I said I didn't feel for him, he'd now lost two children. Or was this one even lost if he was never going to meet them in the first place?

"You will not contact my wife ever again, you hear?" Tomas nodded in agreement, I don't think he was that taken with Bianca, all he wanted was the comfort of a blonde in Genevieve's absence...and he couldn't have Hallie!

I was a mixture of relieved and angry, Tomas had once again brought trouble to my door. I would give him until morning to pack his things, then he had to go...for good!

I couldn't be more excited to be working with @jonnywaistcoat on his next two novels! This is just more of what he does best - pulling apart the very seams of society and giving me very specific new sleep paralysis demons, and somehow getting me to say thank you afterwards.

whew this is a big lookbook! i’ve been working on daphne’s wardrobe for almost nine months now 🤯 mind blind is really special to me for many reasons, but a huge one is how it exemplifies just how much little choices can build character development. all it took was that chapter 1 option to have the mc sleep on bamboo sheets because she “likes a little luxury” and daphne walked into my head fully formed! the game has so much heart and humor, the personality choices are so unique and thoughtful, i could go on and on but 10/10 recommend, more on daphne below.

i had originally had little notes written by daphne on her outfits, but i scrapped them because it looked too cluttered. however they were cute and important to her character so i’m just gonna write them here!

everyday: can you believe grayson still won’t take a hint despite the baby tees daphne wears?! she lives to make him blush. also those vintage von dutch jeans are her prized possession

formal: spot the dress she wears to reese’s dinner party! the rest are for blending in at nick’s unity events-- enough to avoid the press while still catching the eye of an attractive stranger.

athletic: daphne puts on these outfits to walk on the treadmill for twenty minutes then take selfies

sleep: nick and sally constantly roast daphne for her obsession with cute pjs. nick complains that the money she spends on nice pajama sets is a major drain on resources

party: daphne’s favorite clothes to wear to the underground music venues she attends every weekend. music, especially live music, is her best coping strategy. the attractive company also helps keep her mind off grayson.

swim: daphne had big ideas for a post-graduation trip with sally to turks and caicos. though the vacation fell through, she kept the outfits. 

hot weather: some remnants of her coconut girl phase, and rarely weather appropriate. 

cold weather: no these are not all warm enough for chicago winters, but fashion is pain. also daphne rarely leaves the house without her headphones on

The next morning I was in a good mood, probably because Tomas was packing at that very moment. Rorie was being grumbly and had us up half the night, so I let Hallie sleep in and took her downstairs to see if I could cheer her up. "Shawn? Hellooooo???" I started daydreaming about a house without Tomas Lavigne, my evil twin when I was rudely disturbed by the voice of my sister.

"SHAWN! I'm talking to you! You're not asleep, I know that because your eyes are open, SHAWN!!!"

"Oh hey!" I answered her dreamily, still feeling giddy over Tomas' imminent departure.

"Shawn, I found her!" Lizette beamed, "I found Celene!" Well this was shaping up to be one of the best days ever!

"Where?" I mumbled in a daze.

"Tomarang!" She replied proudly, for a vampire who couldn't roam in the day time, she had done a very good job of tracking down Lou's one that got away and his son! I just hoped that I could convince Celene Lopez to come back to Moonwood Mill...and to give Lou Howell a chance to be baby Jared's father!
