Hi! I’m super excited for this IF and as incredibly interested/invested in what you’ve shown so far.

I was wondering if there was any specific meanings behind the ROs names? I think they are all really lovely so I was wondering on why you chose them!

(It’s fine if there’s not a specific answer! I’m just a bit curious and I tend to overthink names for my own characters so it makes me wonder if other authors have the same habit haha. I hope you have a wonderful day all the same 😊)

I am such an overthinker. omg, you should have seen my first draft for the story. I actually had place-order names, and S and P had to switchhh.

Pavlos just sounds like such a pretty royal name, he was firstly named Silas, but I just felt like Pav really just makes sense for a prince. He really likes when people call him by nicknames. Give him an ounce of distance away from his family title and help him realize that he is his own person.

Annette, whose name was actually supposed to be Phai, just got changed because I didn't want the RO's to share the same first letter. I really, REALLY wanted her to have a long first name, something like Mary-Katherine or Angelus-Moues, something just so unique. Given how much detail her parents put into her existence, they would be the type to want to morph her into the perfect child they could put on a shelf. I feel the name is just very pretty, and it truly fits her soft personality.

Silas/Sophia, Silas will always be the text book bad boy type name, and I am so sorry, but I love cliches and tropes (you'll see when the demo comes out), but Sophia is the gender-bent verse that my best friend Ms. Alexa Echo Dot came up with when I asked her for names that would rhyme, so hats off to her!

Rune, now this one was a scrap and edited many times over since objects are rarely given names.

What are the specific skills that the group possesses which make them effective witch hunters?

You: leadership & execution, you are the example when it comes down to planning different traps and how everything is going to go down. That being said, you learn completely from your past experiences, so yeah, maybe you do make mistakes sometimes, but that doesn't matter since you still have all your limbs intact.

S: crazy = genius, even having a bit of a hot head can't say that S is a bit of a genius when it comes to contraption and weaponry building. Their mind works like a switch. One moment they're completely normal, and then the next they're off on some tangent and pulling all-nighters trying to craft something they’re hyper fixated on.

L: strength & bravery, just give him the basic explation, tell him where he needs to stand and let that man swing/shoot his sweet little heart out.

P: the bait. BAHAH on a serious note P plays an amazing child in destress, give this girl an acting contract she literally slay like her life is on the line.

hi! if it's not a spoiler, can i ask if R is gender selectable? i'm not sure about what the (any) means but i'm weak for mysterious people

R is actually genderfluid, so their gender is not selectable; the only character whose gender you can select is S. The reason behind that is a spoiler, so I won't get to that, but I do consider them masc presenting most of the time considering they live in their big metal suit of armor.

What are ROs love languages?

R: physical touch is crucial for the big metal hunk. They're touch-deprived and accustomed to everyone treating them like some intimidating figure. however, the moment someone touches them with a caring hand, it makes them go mentally haywire.

P: words of affirmation hold a special place for him. since childhood, he's constantly been told that he won't amount to anything, that his life will forever be challenging, and even that this mom might not be any good. therefore, receiving sincere praise from someone they truly value is especially meaningful.

S: quality time, especially when it's just the two of you hanging out, keeping them company, and chatting about random topics while they're scribbling away on their next project, is something they truly cherish. they live for unplanned alone time with you.

A: acts of service mean a lot to her. going out of your way to show interest in any of her frowned-upon hobbies will have her smiling radiantly. she's so accustomed to her family constantly showing disinterest in the books she likes, daggers, and adventuring. the moment you go out of your way to show support for her, you have her heart.

without spoiling much here are some other silly things that could go along with the romance character bios I've already posted!

Pavlos:

✸ character inspo song: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road — Elton John. ✸ he refuses to learn how to read written music and, having taught himself how to play the lute when he was younger, has perfect pitch, which makes it simple for him to perform music entirely by ear. ✸ adores satin and lace shirts, especially those with a cute ruffled cuff hem and a silk robe with an eye-catching pattern. His mother's closet serves as his sole source of fashion inspiration; he won't part with any of her items and finds comfort in dressing in the same robes he remembers her wearing as a child. ✸ cannot even save himself by throwing a punch or fighting without somehow hitting or harming himself in some way.

Rune:

✸ character inspiration song: Abbey — Mitski ✸ has a very bad staring problem, it doesn't help while their always wearing that damn helmet. ✸ they appear to have an odd and profound fascination with nurturing outside wildlife and bugs, for whatever reason. ✸ their stance is so rigid and firm that it appears as though they were born with the heavy, bulky metal armor on.

Annette:

✸ character inspo song: When Will My Life Begin (reprise) — Mandy Moore. ✸ her favorite genre besides poetry and fantasy to read is nonfiction biographies written by mad men since she lives for a good conspiracy theory. Her second favorite genre is horror, especially horror stories about creatures and supernatural sightings. Her favorite thing to do before bed is light a candle and read tucked away in her pillow fort. ✸ her collection of knives and daggers is derived from antique weapons that she would conceal from her brother's belongings. Nestled amidst her heaps of vintage writing journals is a small trunk that houses a great assortment of more than twelve. She developed an obsession/hobby when she was younger after reading a tale about a female knight. She also secretly trains herself in swordplay and knife skills by observing her brothers in action during their training. ✸ she detests it when her maids are told to do anything with her hair. Her mother believes that her hair is embarrassing, even though Annette simply loves to have her curls out and feels most beautiful when she isn't wearing her mother's tight, pulled-back styles.

Silas/Sophia:

✸ character inspo song: Gilded Lily — Cults. ✸ just might be a sadist with how many times they get into fights with complete random people, doesn't help that they have a very cocky mouth. Insulting someone like it's almost like second nature, they refuse to have a filter. Their favorite word being "fuck" with how many times they say it in a sentence. ✸ almost every creation and weapon they have ever made has a name and a personality, and they expect you to be familiar with them all as well. ✸ has an issue with overworking themselves to the bone, pulling all-nighters, and refusing to give up on projects since they like to sit down and get everything done in one sitting. will be hyper-fixed on everything, revolving around whatever they are working on until they move onto the next thing and start the cycle again.

the possibilities are endless! especially since S is a very emotionally driven person, most of your choices and even interactions with OTHER love interests and npcs might make them feel a certain way..

What is the backstory of the group of young merchants and how did they come together?

thank you happy to be here! since it's not a spoiler, I'll give a pretty brief introduction to the witch hunters:

Phaedra is just a snotty-nosed orphan that you and the group kind of just took in from a pasting job. She got too attached to the hip to you, and now everyone kind of just tolerates her since everyone has too much of a heart to shake her away. It's the cute child charm in the works, but she doubles as some good witch bait, so no one is complaining about the new mouth to feed.

Legion was welcomed into the group more violently. After getting into a public altercation with S, the two were both locked in the same cell. Who knew that being locked in the same room with someone who almost broke your nose would make you the best of friends? Though Legion does have a strong connection to witch hunting since he is a father of two :)
