plants!! omg i love plants, something thats caught my attention recently that i havent had time to research is the micking plant thats called boquila trifoliolata, because it can mimic plastic plants and that implies it has some form of vision and it just ajsjwhwb?? the plants r seeing me dude, besides that lil rant what is your favorite plant(s)?

That is incredible, I wasn't aware of these mimic plants before you informed me and I'm so glad you did. Plants fascinate me more than anything in the world, most people seem to take them for granted and dismiss them as unintelligent and unimportant but they are just as bizarre and wonderful as the weirdest of animals. I'm also immeasurably fascinated by New Zealand's "vegetable sheep":

they are a type of cushion plant and are named after their sheep-like appearance. They can grow to be quite large (unsure of the exact dimensions) and are surprisingly hard to the touch.

fucking LOVED the spirit bares it’s teeth. perfectly captured how it feels to be a trans man or trans masc- still being perceived as a woman, still facing sexism, understanding a woman’s experience in the way only one who’s lived it can. the feeling of neutrality about your body when you’re alone versus the disgust and sick feeling of it in public. wanting to peel your skin off. fantasizing about giving yourself a hysterectomy because it’s the only way you can truly free yourself from the dreaded takeover of your body that pregnancy would be. the struggle of identifying as a man/masc when you’ve been mistreated and abused by men your whole life- I GET THAT!! the simultaneous removal and understanding of womanhood.

and silas’s autism! it captured those feelings perfectly as well! resisting stimming so you’re taken seriously. the rabbit stuck in your ribs. how everything feels wrong when you’re overstimulated. the sensitivity to noises and light and sensations. i truly cannot get over the rabbit because it was SUCH an accurate way of showing everything.

i did want more about daphne’s experiences, and more fleshing-out of george and elsie, and isabella! especially isabella! there’s a lot of depth that could be added with more details about those characters.

but overall, the whole book was visceral and bloody and truth. loved it

fergal thatcher. mafia king, crime lord. husband to randal thatcher. father to sage morales and hayden cain. don't mess with what is his.

pleased to meet you, hope you can guess my name. but what's puzzlin' you is the nature of my game.

fergal thatcher was born in bray, ireland. he comes from a long line of old money and crime. all he knew while growing up was his parents earning money from smuggling guns and drugs in and out of bray. it was the only way that his dad knew how to take care of his family and to make sure they had the essentials. at a young age he started working for his father as a soldier. he turned 14 and suddenly had to earn his keep. his dad didn't want him to get lazy and not work for him. the last thing fergal was allowed to do was leech off of his father's back and hardwork. thus leading fergal to get into the crime life when he did. he didn't like it and probably wanted a different teenage years. but he also wanted to live and eat. so he did what he had to and followed in line with his father like the good soldier he was. years went by and he continued to impress his father and earned his respect and trust. as a result, his dad sent him to america to expand their business relations with established crime families. meaning, he wanted fergal to eliminate them and take as much power as he possibility could. which he did with his father's resources.

he took over families in new york and some in california. he had more money and power than any man could wish for. sure lots of blood was bleed and families were ripped apart. like his father, he learned to become heartless and not care about the pain his actions could take. he was doing a fine job. he was enjoying himself ... at least he was telling himself that he was. he knew deep down he was missing something, a companion. after conquering los angeles, fergal decided to move onto las vegas. he knew vegas was heavy on the crime life. they told him it would be difficult to takeover the remaining families in charge. but he didn't care. he wanted to try. he was close to succeeding when he met randal. almost immediately fergal fell in love with the other man. he was hit hard. he knew that he couldn't kill him like he had intended to do so. instead he latched a crazy plan to get married to randal and make their blended families more powerful, letal, and dangerous than they could ever imagine. they succeeded. the thatcher family quickly became a top crime family in vegas. he gained more power than his father ever thought he could. fergal was happily married to randal and nestled in their crime life. but he also knew they were missing something or someone they both desired, a child. years after they got married, fergal and randal put their name on a list to adopt a baby. they were told it could take up to one to two years before they were placed with a foster child they could potentially adopt. that wouldn't do for fergal. it hurt him that he couldn't get a child to share with his husband as quickly as he hoped. he knew that when he's hurt and wanting something he becomes desperate. he knew that desperation made him dangerous. if people realized this about him, then maybe someone could've told an employee of his to not excitedly share that his wife was expecting. then maybe he would've been the one to raise his baby. fergal pretended to be happy that silas and katrina morales were expecting their first child together. he allowed them six months with their baby before he decided to strike. well, fergal didn't do the striking, no. he hired someone to make katrina and silas disappear.

they had someone that he oh so desperately wanted, their baby boy sage morales. within a few months after sage's parents dea -- uhhh -- disappearance, suddenly they were on top of the list and soon enough they were taking sage home as their baby boy. with his connections, fergal was able to make the adoption legal and they skipped the fostering completely. just like that, within a few months of planning, randal and fergal got the child they knew they always wanted. with a child now, they both took a break from the crime life to keep sage safe and focus on raising him. along the way fergal and randal also adopted another child he didn't have to kill anyone to make her his kid. no. haybe cain found them. and quickly he started caring for her like a father should. with randal's blessing, they adopted hayden as their child and finished raising her into the child sage could never be. many years have passed since they became parents. both kids were getting older. one was set to take care of herself and fergal hopes she'll want to takeover the family business. while the other continues to impress him by being a good drug dealer with no survival skills. he hates that sage is in the public eye, but he knows he has to let the boy go so that he could become his own man. it definitely scares him because he doesn't want anyone to recognize sage as the son of the couple that suddenly disappeared. fergal will do anything in his power to keep sage safe. after all, he is his baby boy. he's still into the crime, but as an old man, he is slowly looking for a way to retire and spend the rest of his life with his husband. maybe one day his desire will come true.

in gtn, teacher warns Silas against siphoning Colum because any ghost or spirit could take over his empty body (and then we saw how terrifying that could be!). in htn, Mercy justifies her instant-kill policy to harrow by stating how bad it would be if a ghost took over a vacant lyctor's body.

well, guess whose unkillable body has been left vacant and unrotting for like a year now?

my last minute prediction for ntn/atn is that something horrible is going to take over Gideon's corpse. i think it stayed empty for so long because it was with BoE on what seem to be still living thalergy planets where there probably aren't any ghosts around. but if i understand what Mercy says in ayu correctly (she mentions the stele/Gorgon is for an "extraction mission" and mocks them for thinking of "marching on the Mithraeum" so i think BoE"s intent was to use the gorgon to either extract wakes ghost or wake in harrows body from the mithraeum), then it's possible BoE brought Gideon's empty corpse into the river with them when they picked up Pyrrha/soon-to-be Nona. and there's a lot of angry ghosts in the river... so i think either a ghost got into it, or maybe another spirit (wake? the body? g1deon? John?? number seven??? who knows?) did. but i expect something going on there.

i could be misreading the foreshadowing with what Mercy's saying (it might be foreshadowing for Nona getting into Harrow's empty lyctor body or even just wakes takeover attempt). but i want to see some freaky possession shit.

This kind of burden was one he was already trained (and frankly raised) to handle with limited impact to his psyche. Before all this, before MECH, Jaden wasn't in this sort of world. And the man, both for himself and as Dennis' uncle, deserved to have some shred of humanity left in him.

"You've done more than enough regarding this. Shale too. I'll take it from here."

Part of him wanted to fight and resist Silas' sudden takeover. Maybe it was his pride, maybe it was something far worse, but whatever it was it wanted full control of the situation; To prove his merit and his worth by handling the executions and fulfill the duties he had been thrusted into.

The rest of Jaden, however, was willing to let go and did so with the same amount of grace as he had used last night when he first approached the issue. Setting his tablet down like it was a feather, he slid the device across the desk to Silas and cycled another sigh through his systems. "Alright."

STELLA's BLOG TAKEOVER

hey beautiful people! i usually update my happenings in life and y'all probably have memorized it already, so i'll be giving you a sneak peak of stella's day with her nongnong renku and tita ninang endeavor! my friends, renku and endeavor would always text me from time to time to keep me updated. stella was so adorable today so allow me to share her day with you!

these days, stella has been missing her nongnongs and tita ninangs so she's been asking me to call them. apparently, only renku and endeavor is free since renku is still on a vacation and endeavor cleared out her schedule for a "stella therapy", i gave anya a day off and let her rest for the day. earlier this morning, stella insisted to pick a dress for herself, she picked her favorite purple dress that was a gift from her tito nong josh, paired with her favorite shoes gifted by her auntie rei. renku picked her up at 10 am and by that time i was already at work so i wasn't able to greet him. they met our little mermaid friend at the mall and they started their shopping spree! the two took her to toy kingdom and there she got a new doll and a bunny plushie— which she already had a lot at home! they also got her hair accessories and a bracelet set. they took her to a restaurant for lunch which luckily renku reserved in advanced. in the afternoon, they took her to an indoor playground and stella being hyperactive with things, she showed them a few tricks on the trampoline. at 3pm, they took her to kfc for snacks and they were so generous thay they ordered a take out for me and for the other staffs at the flower shop. and at 5pm, they returned stella to me, borlogs na ang bata pagkauwi. i let her sleep in my office muna while the three of us made chika lang and i even scolded them for spoiling stella too much pero i know wala pa yan sa kalahati if si rei at josh ang kasama which reminds me, they scheduled a gala with her na! noong paalis na sila, i gave them bouquets that i arranged earlier and they were so happy about it. i brought a sleeping toddler home home with all of her stuffs.

that's it for today's stella blog takeover! that's pretty much it for now, she's resting na and boosting up her energy for another vocal classes tomorrow and oh! her recitals are coming soon! i will surely make a blog about it. toodles! take care everyone!

"Do you know the painting 'Co.nfession of L.ove' by Fr.agonard? I found it after Lumaca told me about some of the art history lessons she took and then some about the Ro.coco style. She seemed really interested in it, so I went and did my research so I could talk to her about it more. I saw 'Co.nfession of L.ove' and it instantly reminded me very much of our relationship. I mean look at it!"

"It's pretty damn clear that these two are very in love. And when you look at it, you feel like they think that the only thing that matters is each other. That they're in their own private paradise or something. I don't know how to put it exactly"

Alright, I know this is a long shot crack theory, but TF2 is a pretty cracky series, so lets consider the evidence that Olivia Mann is really Medic and Heavy’s daughter.

Gray Mann is old as balls but has a daughter who looks about 5-7 who only appeared when he needed her to takeover Mann Co. No mention of Gray having a wife or anyone who could’ve mothered Olivia.

The other Mann brothers talked about wanting to find someone who could get one of them pregnant so they could continue their forever war just as Gray made his first appearance.

After using Olivia to takeover Mann Co, Gray employed one of the very same mercs who spent the last year foiling his plans to take it with a robot army.

Said merc then spent the entire medical budget allotted to him and the rest of Gray’s henchmen on exotic animal parts. In particular, baboon uteruses which he used to achieve interspecies MPREG in a man of roughly 60.

Medic was able to induce labor and deliver a full grown baby baboon in mere minutes through the use of growth hormones (and yall thought Wanda’s pregnancy was expedited).

Medic indicated that the TFC Medic wasn’t one to spit in the eye of god like he does. There has in fact been no suggestion that anyone other than Medic is capable or inclined toward such a thing.

So, that about covers the reasons why it’s possible Gray could’ve enlisted Medic’s aid to get pregnant so he could use the resulting child to takeover Mann Co. But why go the extra mile and say Olivia isn’t even biologically Gray’s?

The series has already had multiple surprise lineage reveals of that nature.

Scout being Spy’s son was teased several times before it was ultimately confirmed in issue 6.

Sniper unexpectedly learned he was adopted.

Gray himself being the third Mann brother was a reveal built up for a long time in anticipation of Mann vs Machine.

Silas Mann was also revealed as the “forgotten” Mann brother, uncle to the triplets who for some reason became the Horseless Headless Horseman.

Charles Darling, Saxton Hale’s former mentor turned rival is presumably related to the triplets’ mother, Bette Mann née Darling.

The Administrator’s name, Helen, was on an old birth record Miss Pauling burned. Whether she and Elizabeth are the same person or if she’s Elizabeth’s daughter or granddaughter has yet to be confirmed, but we also don’t know her last name, which could connect her to the Manns, Hales, Darlings, or another family. There’s obviously going to be SOME kind of reveal there, we just don’t know exactly what yet.

Now, for the admittedly flimsy evidence that not only did Medic not use Gray’s DNA to conceive Olivia, not only did he use his own, but he also used Heavy’s.

Olivia has black hair, which both Medic and Heavy’s sister Zhanna posses.

In the first panel to show Olivia, she has the same smirk that one of Heavy’s sisters has when she fantasizes about Spy.

Olivia later has the same “smug and evil” grin as Medic after “defeating” Hale in unarmed combat.

Olivia puts on fingerless gloves like Heavy’s and is ready to throw down with a grown man, less like someone conceived and raised by a frail intellectual who uses robots to fight his battles and more like someone who has bear-fighting and bonesaw-shanking in their blood.

Now, why would Medic do any of this? Why help Gray takeover Mann Co when he was getting a good, steady paycheck defending Mann Co from him? Why betray the team? Why use his own DNA? Why Heavy’s?

Are you seriously telling me Medic wouldn’t jump at the chance to be the first man to get another man pregnant, long-term consequences be damned?

Technically he wouldn’t be betraying the team by helping Gray. He wouldn’t be sabotaging anyone on the battlefield, getting them killed or letting the robots win. Gray probably wouldn’t have told him what he wanted a child for and Medic wouldn’t have asked. But Medic’s willingness to help him out would certainly endear Gray to him, which would explain why he was willing to hire him while the other mercs had to go into hiding.

Medic needing a new source of income to fund his experiments might be his “official” reason for accepting employment under Gray. But if he not only helped Gray conceive and deliver Olivia, but contributed his own DNA, would it surprise anyone if he took the job to stay close and look out for her? Not unlike Spy with Scout?

Finally imagine for a moment; you’re a gay mercenary in the 70s who practices medicine without a license and scammed the Devil using the souls of your best friends. No one’s ever going to let you adopt. But, you’re a genius mad scientist with no ethical compunctions. An extremely wealthy man asks you to help him get pregnant. Not only are you capable of doing so, but how’s he going to know if you just happen to use the DNA of yourself and the man you love instead of his to create a child that’s biologically both of yours and will likely inherit from both of you incredible strength and intellect?

P.S.

Medic made sure the child would be a girl because he knew Heavy wanted one since he helped raise his sisters and feels more confident about raising girls than boys.

In order we have - Zeus, Alessia, Lyra, and Silas! Look at these fuckers (loving). They aren’t shamed. Zeus is the only one who feels relatively bad about it. (Yes Silas feels bad about the whole takeover thing a bit but he was unapologetically having fun fucking shit up). A gift for you, infodumps summaries of what exactly they did under the cut.

Zeus - hoohoohop it’s this motherfucker (affectionate). Zeus’s power is hemokinesis, or the ability to manipulate blood. And he doesn‘t know how to control it. He was living with his brother at the time, named Hades because their parents were mythology nerds. Zeus had a panic attack and Hades tried to help, and Zeus’s power sort of... exploded out. Hades died within seconds. Enter Archivina, our resident scheming queen of demons, in her first attempt to take over the human realm. She told Zeus that she could bring back Hades - She actually didn’t have that power, but she figured that she could easily get rid of Zeus as soon as he’d finished doing her dirty work, so she didn’t see an issue - and that she would do it if he helped her with this thing she’d been planning. So that’s why he tried to take over the world.

Alessia - After Zeus “failed” [read: after the gang helped Zeus work through his issues and trauma, and also after he figured out Archivina had lied to him and so he decided he was done with her shit], Archivina needed a new pawn. So she picked Alessia and Lyra, deciding that two might be better than one. Alessia was running from a certain person who kept tracking her down and following her everywhere. Archivina’s deal? She’d kill him. And then Alessia would work with this girl Lyra and also fall in lesbian with her kickstart Archivina’s takeover. Alessia, being desperate, accepted. The whole “fistfighting a train” thing isn’t really shaming her, so much as pointing out that although she seems like a rational and calm person she is not!!! She makes!!! Stupid!!! Decisions!!! All the fucking time!!! Also she won because she has electricity powers and was able to shut the train’s power down as soon as she touched it, she just decided to pinch it for effect.

Lyra - Yep. Her power is that she’s just,,, venomous. If she bites someone, they will die, but not before a bunch of hallucinations and extreme pain. It‘s some sciency poison thing that’s mutated into her blood and is also slowly and painfully killing her! Fun! Yeah, I know, it probably couldn’t happen in real life, but neither could 90% of the shit that happens here so not my problem. Archivina‘s deal was that she would fix Lyra’s poison-thing so it would, y’know, stop killing her, after Lyra joined Alessia and started the takeover. Keyword being after. Lyra’s on a deadline, because if her thing kills her before she finishes this task, Archivina won’t do anything about it. So that’s a lovely little thing.

Silas - after Alessia and Lyra also got redemption arcs (ugh, rude), Archivina decided that rather than using a human weapon, she’d just use her son. Silas was sent up to the human realm to take it over completely, so if it backfired, the blame fell on him rather than on husband mother, who was puppeteering the whole operation. Did he want to? No, but he didn’t think he had a choice, and he was told he was just being immature or cowardly whenever he raised concerns about any of his mother‘s schemes, so he’d learned to keep his mouth shut about that. Plus, the fucking-shit-up part was fun, and even after his redemption arc he won’t say he feels bad about it just because his pride won’t let him.

the phrase “representation matters” really did muddy the waters on this one. human beings aren’t representation/a celebrity cannot be your visual representation which will somehow fix all of homophobia and transphobia. And in fiction, the call for visual representation to always remain morally good is not productive. Harry Dodge and Silas Howard recently had a discussion about this on the podcast Launch Left: because visual representation calls for a static and morally good representation of marginalized figures it ultimately fails since it’s just not good storytelling! Yes, it’s important for children to see more diversity in television, in media, in storytelling overall. We have studies that show children need figures with whom they can identify. But in the way that adult audiences understand representation to “matter,” representation often ends up being a moral obligation.
