Presumptuous perhaps but I'm skipping the reblog/ask stage. Also taking inspiration from @arendaes great idea to make this a creative writing project.

“Dreamer help me if a time ever comes I’m not. I live to be problematic. In a good way!” He flashes that radiant smile, thinking it'll get him off the hook.

Aivu narrows her eyes. “Sometimes you’re problematic in a bad way. You’re a problem when you forget to bring me treats. And when you’re sad.”

“I’m not sad. I’m never sad!”

“You’re also a problem when you don’t tell the truth.” Her dragon lips pinch with reproach.

“Come on, I only lie for good reason.”

“And when you don’t want to get in trouble.”

“That’s a good reason. And so do you, may I remind you.”

“OK but I’m bad at it. You always seem to know. I make my biggest, sweetest baby dragon eyes, just like this—” She bats her long lashes. “—and it never works.”

“Seriously, nobody else could have eaten that cake in one bite.”

“Woljif could.”

“In one bite, no.”

“Hm. Maybe not. Not without leaving crumbs,” she concedes. “But you’re being sneaky again.”

“Me?”

“You’re difficulting. Diftecling. You know, what Arueshalae says.”

“Deflecting?” He lets out a sigh of defeat. “All right, fine. How am I problematic—let me think.

“I’m impulsive. I trust in luck, and that makes me look reckless. Look, it turned out that letting Minagho go helped us out in the end. There wasn't much I could do for her victims. Imprisoning or killing her wouldn’t bring anybody back. Using her to help win the Crusade was the best revenge we could hope for, isn’t it? Like she used Staunton. Or, maybe not that bad, but still. It’s the principle.

“No, I didn’t think I could ‘save’ her. Just tried to turn her against her master. And it worked. Demons are so easy that way.

“I know what you’re implying. The savior complex? The manipulation? Be honest with me: if more people thought the way I do, the world really would be a better place. Case closed, right?” There’s the extremely compelling smile again. You are determined not to let him entirely off the hook, however...

“All right, touché, but rules are for cowards and suckers. And devils. Sometimes, lying, cheating and stealing are the most ethical thing you can do.”

“And if you’re sneaky you don’t get in trouble," adds Aivu helpfully.

“Or if you make big, sweet baby dragon eyes.”

Pink in the face, she exclaims, "Well, he would be near-perfect if he would just quit calling me 'Ags,' for one! You'd think such an established poet would be able to come up with even a marginally more flattering nickname. Alas, it would seem taste is not among his many personal strengths!"

Agria takes a deep breath and smooths down her skirts. "In spite of that deficiency, however, Siavash is a wonderful friend. He just has this energy about him," Agria makes a motion with her hands, but even she doesn't appear to know what she's referring to. "Being around him is like coming up for air when you didn't even realize you were underwater. The relief! No wonder everyone lines up to tell him their secrets!

"He's a true Desnan, and I cannot offer any higher praise. Whatever he's doing, he makes you want to be a part of it. I know some people think he isn't always the most committed, but that's what people like me are for: to help him see it through to the end."

Smiling faintly, Agria says, "Just between the two of us, I'm grateful for the teasing. With Sia, there's always an affection to it, distasteful as it may be. Without you even noticing it, he challenges you, makes you think about things in a way you hadn't before. There's no one quite like him, and I am entirely lucky to know him."

If Theo has any thoughts to share💎💎💎

Oh, yes, Theo has thoughts. I feel kinda bad because I think this says more about Theo than it does about Sia...but I think, unless Sia went out of his way to be vulnerable, this is probably what Theo would think of him.

Sia is really great at...well...everything. I mean, we both use art to make our companions stronger, but I just yell at them and make them angry. He actually inspires people with his music. And he adapted to being crusade commander with such grace - he stepped into the role so smoothly, you know it never even crossed Galfrey's mind to send him a passive aggressive letter implying all his troops died because he was a showboating glory-hound. I mean, of course not - he's a good Knight-Commander, just by being himself. He didn't have to become someone or something else to do the job. He was already enough.

And he knows it, too! He's got this confidence - this swagger. Like, he walks into a room, and all eyes are on him, and he knows it. And he just eats it up! It doesn't throw him off or anything cuz he's Sia. Of course all eyes are on him. And then stuff goes wrong, and he just rolls with it and improvises and...it works! Somehow! Because he's Sia!

But....yeah. He...he's great, and...I mean...he does a lot of things that are kind of like what I do, so...it's really easy to tell he's really good at it. Like...really good at it. Yeah. And I....yeah. Yeah, Sia's great. Even if he is Andoren.

“Every night is two nights"

rom Siavash  The Idea of this album, when I first started drafting it, was to continue what struck me as very interesting yet simple idea; night. I became interested in different definitions of what night is, our perception of it and what night means physically to us as well as symbolically. 

I came across the idea of ‘other night’ described by Maurice Blanchot, during my research. It started me recognising night as something we experience as ‘the night of sleep’; it is night that we resist in sleep, by way of dreaming. 

Things became more interesting for me during many nights of not sleeping and intoxication, and an eventual nervous breakdown. This experience, culminating in me spending three days in ICU, gave me pause to think about Blanchot’s words. 

Slipping in and out of consciousness my mind, which had already experienced a blurring of what one might call the ‘other night’ and the night itself, by being in half sleep most of the time. I felt myself far way from all my surroundings and at the same time being very attentive to some details in the objects around me. It was as if my body and mind where in an in-between state. I can only describe this as being distant or more precisely being in the dark. Objects and people showed themselves out of proportion and mostly dim. 

A feeling to describe this sensation, the word for which I only came across later, is ‘Serus’. There was a sense of repetition and familiarity in some feelings and emotions that I had towards some objects like sensing I knew them but not exactly from where or when. It was as if my body was resisting sleep and my sleepy mind was resisting being awake, only to dream of another type of the world that I could be awake in.

@dujour13 Well well well, you asked about Siavash and Eneas and my thoughts don’t fit into a tumblr comment. 😂 Especially since I actually think a relationship between the two of them would work out great but also be highly complicated in quite intriguing ways. What an exciting redemption project Eneas would be for Siavash, wouldn’t he?

But their relationship would need to grow beyond that – the way it did with Woljif – since Eneas doesn't regret most of the more vicious things he did and can't be brought there. He stands firm in his own philosophy about life and he adores it because of its dark aspects too. So he is by no means cynical but in morbid awe about the terrible aspects in it all as much as he sees and deeply enjoys the beautiful parts of it too. He won’t change or not beyond his very own process that’s already happening. When he was young, he was full of hidden rage and the urge for bitter vengeance resulting from the torture and abuse he went through. But he grew so much calmer, he is at peace with the world in accepting it the way it is. Today he doesn’t play the control over his strong emotions (and he experiences them more deeply than most, the curse of his existence but also the source of his power), he truly feels it. The only emotion still escaping his control sometimes and therefore the one he fears most, well, is love.

 But – and maybe that’s enough for Siavash – as I wrote before, if his partner has a moral code that’s important to them, Eneas adopts the moral code as long as his feelings are sincere (and they would be very sincere with Siavash), to a degree that he won’t act against it too strongly anymore (unless a desperate situation calls for it).

They both would be drawn to each other immediately, I feel: both musicians, artists, both with high diplomatic skills, lying to get their way, both wanderers and travelers with a fondness of bold color combinations … 😂 Eneas’ taste in fashion may be more … refined (sorry Sia), they’d still look amazing on stage together.

Siavash’s whimsical flair and lightness would go well with the atmosphere Eneas creates. Their creativity would play into each other’s and their creations would be magnificent. I imagine their music, I also imagine the roles they would play, not to fool each other but anyone around them – for new experiences and exciting games.

Siavash needs to be careful though. If Eneas senses his idea to redeem him, he may use this against him to manipulate him in return. It would become a battle who influences who and Eneas would find it highly interesting if he can find some darkness in Siavash instead, negative aspects to foster until he would act on them. (And he is much more talented in this subtle game than Meph, I can guarantee that much. 😁)

It would be important that Siavash shows him that he actually loves him and no matter what to avoid this road, that’s a way to disarm him. – And very needed to stop him from running the moment he realizes he is in too deep. Or maybe Siavash would be the one who attempts to flee first? They both seem to have those tendencies. Ah, if they see this habit mirrored in each other, they may experience the pain of it themselves now – searching for the other one again, trying to make it better.

If things go well, Siavash should be delighted to find out that Eneas isn’t bond to a city or even country, so he could satisfy his need for adventuring with him by his side. Furthermore, Eneas knows many exciting places himself he found during his long life and would be more than thrilled to show them to him and see his reactions.
