It was a quiet day in the office. Everyone was going through the several boxes of information on Vought that they had gathered at the last hospital they investigated.
“Jack pot!” Hughie exclaimed.
“What’d you find?” MM asked from across the room, head still down as he stayed focused on the box he was working on.
“There’s tons of names here of babies Vought dosed,” Hughie said. “And pictures of them now, looks like they were keeping tabs on the ones that didn’t go great.”
“Makes sense,” MM replied. “If one went off the rails they’d wanna know.”
“But why risk it?” Annie wondered out loud. “Why would Vought want these Compound V babies out there if they didn’t respond well to the serum?”
“Yeah, knowing Vought it’d make more sense to round ‘em up and put ‘em down,” Frenchie said.
“Wait, what the fuck?” Hughie’s eyes widened a little as his brows furrowed. “Uh, Y/n? Do you have a twin?”
“No, why?” you asked half-heartedly, buried deep in the box you were looking through. You had found some info on Temp-V and were hoping there was something in there that could help Butcher.
You were confused as to why Hughie hadn’t answered you so you looked up from your desk. Hughie was now standing at Annie’s desk as she read over the papers he’d just handed her. Frenchie and Kimiko looked up from their desks but didn’t bother going to see what all the fuss was about.
“Uh, MM,” Annie called him over. When he saw what Annie and Hughie were so freaked out over, his eyes widened.
“Holy fucking shit,” MM mumbled before he glanced at you. Annie tapped his arm a little and pointed at something written near the bottom of the page.
“What’s wrong you guys?” you asked, even though you had an idea about what they could be looking at.
You thanked your lucky stars Butcher had left to get lunch for the team, even though you knew you’d have to confront him about it at some point. It wasn’t your fault, you didn’t mean to keep it from him! But you were putty in his fucking hands and when he said he didn’t like Supe’s you weren’t gonna tell him what you had coursing though your veins. And after the ‘I love you’s had been said it seemed too late.
“Anything you wanna tell us, Y/n?” MM asked.
“Please don’t tell Butcher,” you said.
“‘Don’t tell Butcher’? Seriously, Y/n? You’re sure that’s what you wanna say?” Annie asked, silently begging you to just come clean.
“Don’t tell me what?” Butcher stepped into the office and you stood up quickly. “What’re you guys all looking at?”
He put down the food and took a few steps closer to where MM, Hughie, and Annie were. Before MM could move the papers around and help you keep your secret a little longer, Butcher grabbed what he was holding and started reading. By the time he finished, angered tears were forming in his eyes before he looked at you.
“You’re a fucking Supe?” Butcher asked you through gritted teeth. You stayed silent, completely frozen as he stormed over to you, papers still in his hand. “Fucking answer me!”
“Y-Yes,” you said quietly, unable to look him in the eyes as he towered over you. (He wasn’t that much taller than you, but right now you felt about two feet tall and didn’t dare look up at him.)
“What’s this mean?” He pointed to a note at the bottom of the pages. “‘Full power unknown’? ‘Extremely dangerous’?” he read. “What the fuck are your powers, Y/n?”
“Billy, please-”
“Oh, no, no, no! Don’t fucking dare Billy me! Answer the goddamn question!”
“I can sometimes run really fast,” you mumbled
“The fuck you mean, ‘sometimes’?”
“The Compound V in my system randomly acts up and I can run like the Flash. It’s always temporary, never lasts longer than a day or two.” (You could’ve used A-Train as an example instead of Barry Allen, but given your audience you made the right call.)
Butcher looked at you and for a second you thought he might just pull you into a hug as tears slipped down your cheeks as well as his.
“Fuck you,” he spat. “How dare you fucking lie to me, about this of all fucking things!”
“I-I’m sorry-”
“Sorry don’t fuckin’ cut it, love,” he said, teeth clenching again.
“Please, Billy I love you so fucking much!” You tried taking his hand in yours.
“No!” He pulled his hand back. “You fucking lied to me.”
“I had to! You said you hated Supe’s and I didn’t want you hating me!”
“Good job with that,” he scoffed, hurt flashing over your features. “Fuck you.”
He turned away from you before leaving the office, ignoring the others as they asked him where he was going.
**
MM was the first to talk to you about the whole ordeal; he went to your apartment that night to see how you were doing.
“Hey,” you said as you opened the door. He pulled you into a quick but tight hug.
“You could’ve told me, you know,” he whispered before pulling back to look you in the eyes. “I’m sorry about Butcher, has he talked to you since?”
“No,” you shook your head, “but he, uh, I think he’s done with me.”
“I’m sure he just needs time,” he tried to assure you as you both walked to the couch before sitting down.
“He came by and got all his stuff, MM,” you said. “It must’ve been right after he stormed out of the office because when I got home all his shit was gone and the key I gave him was on the nightstand.”
“Fuck,” MM mumbled. “I’m so sorry, Y/n.”
“It’s my own fault, I should’ve fuckin’ told him.”
“Yeah, but he’s always saying shit about Supe’s,” he countered. “He has to understand why you wouldn’t tell him.”
“But I’m not even technically a real Supe! When I’m not fast all I get is the bad side effects of Compound V—headaches, nausea, blurred vision—it fucking sucks!”
“I gotta ask, did Butcher really never notice?”
“He did, I just never told him the real reason. He was worried about my headaches and even asked me to see a doctor. I told him I did and they said it was nothing serious. I think that’s why he’s so mad at me; it’s not the Compound V, it’s the fact I’ve lied to him so fucking much.”
“I think he’s gonna get over it,” MM said. “I think he’s gonna realize how fucking miserable he is without you and just how happy you make him.”
You scoffed a little, “Don’t give me false hope.”
“I’m serious! You didn’t know pre-you Butcher! He was a complete asshole! Now? He’s… Well, he’s still an asshole but he’s not as annoying as he used to be.”
“Really?”
“Oh yeah.” He nodded. “I remember when I first caught on that he liked you; he’d try not to raise his voice, he’d make room for you to sit next to him on the couch, so many little things about him changed whenever you walked into the motherfuckin’ room.”
“He wasn’t like that before?” You smiled, feeling those familiar butterflies over the thought of Billy fucking Butcher having a crush on you.
“Never!” MM assured you. “You need to give him time and space right now, but I know he still loves you.”
**
The next morning you went to work, not knowing what else to really do. If Butcher didn’t want to see you, he didn’t have to come in.
When you got there and saw him at his desk (which was now moved a few feet further from your own) you knew you made a mistake.
“The fuck are you doing here?” Butcher asked.
“She’s part of the team,” Hughie said.
“Come off it! She fucking lied to all of us! She’s a fucking Supe!”
“And we get why she lied!” Annie came to your defense.
“A Supe defending another Supe, what else is new?” he grumbled.
“Butcher,” Hughie warned.
“Alright, let’s take a fuckin’ vote, how about?” Butcher suggested.
“Sure,” MM said. “All those in favor of Y/n staying on the team?” He raised his hand as Hughie, Annie, Frenchie, and Kimiko did the same.
“Five against one,” Frenchie commented.
“Supe’s don’t get a fucking vote,” Butcher said.
“Still three against one,” MM replied. “She’s staying on the team.”
“Butcher-” you started but he cut you off.
“Stay the hell away from me,” Butcher told you. “Don’t you fucking talk to me or touch me or even fucking look at me!”
**
It was a couple days later and you were pouring yourself a cup of coffee when Butcher walked up beside you, clearly wanting coffee as well. You decided you weren’t gonna move from where you stood in front of the little coffee station MM had set up a few months ago. If you stood your ground, Butcher would either have to ask you to move or push you out of the way.
He was getting impatient as you stayed and took a sip of your fresh cup of coffee. You let out a content sigh hoping it would further aggravate him and cause him to say something, anything to you—he’d managed to successfully give you the silent treatment since his angry voting speech.
“Get the fuck outta the way,” he said and you took a step to the side before he instantly went to pour himself a cup.
You were about to gloat a little but when you looked at his face you could tell he hadn’t slept the night before.
“How’d you sleep last night?” you asked, genuinely concerned as you furrowed your brows and turned to look at him more intently.
“Fuckin’ great, I didn’t have a Supe sleepin’ next to me,” he countered. “And don’t fuckin’ talk to me, if it was up to me you woudln’t still fuckin’ be here.”
“So you’d really be okay with me just getting the hell outta here? Never seeing me again?” you asked.
“Drop fuckin’ dead for all I care!” He shrugged a little and took a sip of his coffee before he finally turned to look at you.
“Huh.” You nodded, tears quickly flooding your eyes. “You know what,” you shook your head a little, “fuck you, Butcher.”
“What, now you bruise easy?”
“I have put up with so much shit from you. I have stayed with you through it all and I have proved to you time and fucking time again that I genuinely love and care about you. But this one thing you can’t let go? This one, stupid thing that was given to me without my fucking consent?”
“You lied to me, Y/n!”
“You’ve lied to me, too! You looked me in the eyes and said you weren’t gonna take Temp V then you fucking took it! And what did I do? I stayed up with you all fucking night as you hurled green shit into the toilet! Then you promised you wouldn’t take it again, but you did. And I was angry, but I loved you and I realized you were just doing what you thought was right so again I stayed with you as you puked. I even fucking kissed you after you barely rinsed your mouth out because I just wanted you to know I loved you!” You continued looking at him as his angered expression slowly softened. “And after you learned about the cancer?
“After you made me swear to just ignore it and act like you didn’t have a year to live? I stopped worrying about it in front of you. Instead I lost countless nights of sleep because I’ve been pouring through every bit of research Vought has on Temp V. I even managed to get files that only existed in physical copies kept at Vought Tower. I would’ve done anything for you Butcher because I thought you loved me too.
“The fact you can’t see why I felt I had to lie to you about the shit I’ve got pumping through my veins is ridiculous. And just so we’re clear—you can hate me all you want, but you better start acting fucking professional when we’re on the clock because I’m not going anywhere.”
“Did you have that whole speech planned just to try and get me to fold?” he asked, scoffing a little.
“Fuck you,” you said before brushing past him.
**
It had been nearly two weeks since Butcher and the others found out you were (kind of) a Supe. Everyone except Butcher had gotten over it by now and had even been asking you questions about your “powers”.
Hughie had asked you; “Can you tell when you’re able to run fast? Or is it you’ll be jogging and suddenly you’re miles away from where you meant to be?”
To which you had replied; “No, I can tell when I’m able to run fast; but I can’t predict when it’s gonna happen, you know? Like I have no control over it, I just sometimes know that if I were to try, I’d be able to go super fast.”
Kimko had asked you; “On the days you don’t have your powers, do you ever wish you did? Or are you relieved when you wake up and realize you don’t have them for right now?” (She had texted you while you were seated across from her.)
You had said aloud; “It tends to hurt on the days my powers don’t work. I get really bad headaches and sometimes they’re so bad that I actually puke. I’m happier on the days I can run, not because I’m fast, but simply because I don't have all the bad side effects.”
Butcher managed to ignore you since the coffee incident. He only ever spoke to you about work and never saw you outside the office. Not that you’d admit it, but you missed him like crazy. You hated sleeping without him, you hated waking up and only cooking breakfast for yourself, and you absolutely hated not being able to talk to him about all the random shit you two used to talk about.
He missed you too, though he never showed it. He was losing sleep over how he was treating you, but he figured you wouldn’t want him now. You both knew he only had a little over six months left (nine at most) and he wasn’t gonna go crawling back to you just to die. If he did, you would’ve welcomed him with open arms; wanting nothing more than to hold him while he ignored the inevitable.
**
“Everyone knows the plan?” Butcher asked the group, looking into the back of the truck from the passenger seat. “In and out, no fucking around and finding out what happens when we mess with this guy?”
You and the others beside you (Annie, Kimiko, Frenchie, and MM) nodded.
“I’ll keep the engine running,” Hughie said. “Once we see this guy leave you’ve all got twenty minutes until he’s back—but leave time for getting in and out, so safeside ten minutes.”
“Any questions? We all know what we’re looking for?” Butcher asked, earning nothing but nods. You raised your hand a little and he sighed with (what seemed like) annoyance; “What?” he asked.
“Uhm, not a question, more like a comment, my uhm, my powers just…turned on?” you told Butcher, and therefore the others in the car. “So just…”
“That’s actually great,” Hughie said. “Thank you for sharing, Y/n.”
“Whatever,” Butcher mumbled.
Another few minutes went by before the Supe left his house and you all broke in.
As everyone looked for what they came for (a file stolen from the office that detailed all the crimes this particular Supe had done with proof that would land him in prison) you noticed something strange in the corner of the living room.
“Is that a camera?” you exclaimed.
Before anyone could answer several shots rang loud through the house. Using your powers, you looked and quickly realized three bullets were headed directly for the back of Butcher’s head. He was looking under a desk on the other side of the room and if you didn’t hurry, he’d be dead in less than a second.
You ran and got between the bullets and Butcher; crouching down and letting them hit you square in the back.
“What the fuck!” the man holding the gun exclaimed. Before he could take another shot, Kimko tackled him and held him down.
Butcher looked at you, his eyes wide as you both realized what you’d just done. You looked down at your chest, fully expecting to be gushing blood.
“You’re fucking bulletproof?” Butcher asked, a sense of awe in his tone.
“I guess so.” You furrowed your brows a little, still looking down and not really believing you weren’t dying. As you stood up, the bullets fell off your back and onto the floor. “Wow,” you muttered, “I’m fuckin’ bulletproof.”
“You…” Butcher looked at you as he stood up as well. He put a hand on your shoulder, turning you so he could look at your back—three small holes in your jacket and shirt, but your skin unfazed. “You just…You were ready to die for me?” He turned you back and looked down into your eyes, keeping his hand on your shoulder.
“Well, I wasn’t about to let you die,” you mumbled, looking up at him. You then looked at his hand and smiled a little before looking back at him. You were prepared to make a snide remark about how he was suddenly willing to touch you, but you kept your mouth shut when you saw his eyes brimming with tears.
He wrapped one arm around your shoulders while the other went around your torso. It actually took you a moment to realize he was in fact hugging you but when you did, you put your arms around him too; one going around his shoulders, the other around his torso.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, closing his eyes to keep the tears from falling. “I’m so fuckin’ sorry.”
“I forgive you,” you mumbled, reveling in the feeling of him holding you. You sensed he was about to pull away so you tightened your grip, not ready to let him go just yet, which caused him to do the same.
“I hate to break up this long-overdue hug,” MM said, “but I found the folder, we should take this guy in.”
“We’ll meet you in the truck,” Butcher replied, not opening his eyes or moving a muscle. “Cuff him.”
When everyone was out of the room, you whispered; “I really do forgive you, Butcher.”
“Thank you,” he replied, matching your tone. “Still can’t fuckin’ believe you risked your life for a guy who’s got about six months to live.”
**
That night you went to Butcher’s apartment and when he opened the door, he seemed surprised; “What’re you doing here?” he asked, letting you walk in.
“A couple months ago, I broke into the labs at Vought Tower and stole a shit ton of files they had on Temp V. I got the name of one of the doctors that helped make it, and I found his address. I was ready to threaten him to get him to find a cure for the Temp V side effects but when I explained my situation he said he’d help me willingly. He said he was actually already working on a cure without Vought knowing, because he felt insanely guilty about the fact Temp V kills people. He succeeded. He found a cure and he’s used it to make a new form of Temp V that gives you powers for a day while healing you and at the end of it, you should be back to your old self.”
“Wait, what?” Butcher furrowed his brows. “Why didn’t you tell me weeks ago you’ve been working with this guy?’
“One, I didn’t want to get your hopes up. Two, you told me to pretend you weren’t sick so we could enjoy the time we had left together. And three, he needed my blood for the new Temp V. Turns out I’m like the Ultimate Temp V Supe, and with my blood he was able to make the new serum. Also, I just came from his house, he perfected the new serum last night and texted me this morning. I was gonna come here tonight whether or not you wanted me near you, and I told the doctor if I didn’t meet up with him by the end of the week he should contact Hughie Campbell at Supe Affairs. I figured if something happened to me, Hughie would make sure you got the cure.”
“So…there really is a cure?”
You reached into your jacket pocket and took out the small bag containing a couple vials of the new Temp V and two empty syringes.
“It’ll either kill you quicker or you’ll be cancer free tomorrow,” you told him, handing over the bag before he looked inside. “You don’t have to risk it, but I wouldn’t be giving it to you if I didn’t one-hundred-percent believe it’s safe. If you don’t trust me, I understand and we can pretend-”
“Of course I trust you,” he cut you off. “And of course I wanna be fuckin’ cured, but this seems almost too good to be true?”
“I know.” You smiled. “The doctor tested it on himself and showed me the proof—he’s taken five doses over the last two weeks and he’s healthier than ever.”
“How long did he have powers?”
“Twenty-four-hours,” you said. “But he had the same side effects as the first Temp V; puking, headaches, all that shit. But, after everything, he was fine—no long term or deadly side effects.”
“If I take this…will you please stay with me while it lasts?” he asked quietly, not wanting to go through it all alone.
“I was planning to, whether you wanted me here or not,” you admitted.
“Thank you.”
You both sat down on the couch and you watched as Butcher took the serum, his eyes lighting up the same way they did before. He tossed the used syringe on the end table next to the couch and leaned back, allowing the serum to do its job and he could almost feel his strength come back.
“How’s it feel?” you asked.
“Fuckin’ hurts,” he said, “but I’m okay. It’s better than wastin’ away.”
“You can say that again,” you mumbled. “Can I scoot closer to you?” you asked, not wanting to be close unless he wanted you to be.
“Please,” he said and moved his arm to the back of the couch as you moved to sit right beside him.
“I’ve missed you,” you whispered, not really enjoying how quiet things had gotten.
“I’ve missed you, too,” he admitted. “I’m a fuckin’ idiot for how I acted, and you have every right to hate me, but thank you for not leaving when I told you to. Thank you for not walking out of my life for good.”
“Can I tell you something?”
“Hm?”
“The only reason I didn’t leave was because I needed to know where you were when I got my hands on the cure. Once I knew you were healthy, I had planned to leave like you asked.”
He moved his arm from the couch and instead rested it on your shoulders; “Are you still planning to leave?”
“Only if you don’t ask me to stay,” you said honestly. “If you want to go back to the way things were a month ago, I’ll happily stay. But if you’re still freaked out about the fact I’m a Supe, I won’t bother you again once I know you’re okay.”
“Please stay,” he said. “I’m sorry about the shit I’ve said and done the past three weeks, but please stay.”
“Stay working at the bureau? Or stay…with you?”
“You can’t quit the bureau, you’re the smartest fuckin’ person there,” he said, making you laugh a little.
“I dunno, Hughie’s pretty smart too,” you teased.
There was another silent pause as Butcher thought of what to say. He couldn’t just ask you to take him back, that didn’t seem fair. He couldn’t just say he’d take you back, because that was even worse. He knew he fucked up big time, and any future the two of you had was entirely up to you at this point.
“Do you want to go back to the way things were?” you asked him quietly.
“I really, really do,” he whispered. “But I was too much of an asshole to deserve another chance with you.”
“After everything we’ve been through together, I’d rather just let all the shit we’ve done be water under the bridge, if that’s okay with you. Just let the lies we’ve both told slide and try to be more honest with each other from now on. Personally, I’ve got nothing else to hide and I know there’s nothing you could say or do that would make me stop loving you.”
“You still love me?”
“Of course,” you said. “Do you…love me?”
“Never stopped,” he mumbled. “And I’d really like all the shit to be water under the bridge too if you’re really willing to forgive me for everything.”
“So it’s settled then; all the stupid, fucked up things we’ve both done up until this point are forgiven and we can go back to normal?”
“I love you so much,” he said, smiling a little as he turned and kissed your temple.
“I love you too,” you replied.

Hiiii! So I do not know if you are making requests but if you are doing can do: Charles x Reader where she is a medical student and will do an internship in formula one, Charles does not like her much until he gets hurt and have to take care of her which makes the two approach
kiss with a fist | charles leclerc
warnings: needles and blood mentions and charles being an asshole <3
Y/n was nervous. She was starting her new internship with none other than F1. She watched a couple of races, but she wasn’t a die hard fan. But she wasn’t here to watch men drive in circles, she was here to work.
When she first arrived to the paddock, she was already making enemies. She didn’t mean to, but a certain Ferrari driver had woken up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. Y/n bumped into Charles, nearly dropping his hot coffee on himself.
“I’m sorry! The photographer was backing up and I-”
“Do you not watch where you’re going? There’s all this space around you.” Charles groaned as he dropped his coffee into a trash can. “What? You want an autograph?”
Y/n rolled her eyes. “Not everyone wants your autograph. And I said I was sorry. By the way, I’m more of a Red Bull fan.” She really didn’t know anything about Red Bull to be honest. You could have someone explain every single detail of f1 and she still wouldn’t understand. All she knew was that Red Bull probably had more haters than supporters.
She quickly left Charles and walked to her boss’ office where she was supposed to meet him. Y/n was already wishing the day was over so she could go back home and bury herself in her blankets after her interaction with Charles, but she had a long day ahead of her.
Tumblr media
“Charles Leclerc crashes into the barrier!”
Y/n watched from a monitor as Charles’ Ferrari crashed. The replay kept on going, sort of a reminder to the Ferrari fans that this season wasn’t going their way. Charles stumbled out of his car, almost tripping over his feet.
“He’s okay, right?” Y/n asked her boss. Sure, he was an asshole to her that morning, but she would never wish for someone to get injured.
“Yeah, I got confirmation that Leclerc is fine. Have you met him yet?”
“Sort of. Had to leave before I could even get an autograph.” She said sarcastically, but her boss didn’t pick it up.
“I’m sure you’ll get one.”
Yeah, no.
After the race, Y/n was going through the piles of paperwork she was told to do. She was writing down on her clipboard when she heard a knock on the door. She figured it was her boss or someone else other than Charles Leclerc.
“Yes?” She looked up to see the driver. “Oh. Finally brought me an autograph?” She went back to writing in her clipboard.
“No, someone made me realize that not everyone wants my autograph. I was just wondering if you have time to check if I’m dying.” He said casually.
Y/n dropped her pen and looked at him, wondering if he was serious or not. “Check if you’re dying?”
“Yeah, I crashed today. My head is hurting, I think I might pass out. I’m not dying, right?” Charles explained.
“Fine, I’ll check. Sit down.” Y/n pointed to the examination table next to the desk she was currently using. Charles followed her instructions and sat on the examination table.
“Are you going to give me a shot? Because I hate needles. And sometimes I get weirded out if I see my own blood.” Charles admitted.
“Why would I give you a shot when your head is hurting? I can if you want me to.” Y/n said, standing In front of Charles.
“Nope, I am good.”
“Great. So just let me check if you’re dying real quick.”
Before Y/n could even do anything, Charles spoke up. “My head actually doesnt hurt at all. I lied, I wanted to come here to apologize for this morning.”
“Did your mom find out and made you come apologize?”
“No, my mother doesn’t know but if she did she would pull my ear and tell me to treat women with respect. And I do treat women with respect, but I’ve been having a bad…” Charles sighed and looked down.
“Day?” Y/n guessed.
“Season actually. Point is, I shouldn’t have been mean to you and I’m sorry and i understand if you don’t accept my apology. If I were you, I wouldn’t.” Charles nodded and got off the examination table. Before he could leave, Y/n called his name making him turn around to face her.
“You forgot your lollipop. I have this thing where I give my patients a lollipop no matter what age they are so here,” Y/n handed Charles a red lollipop. “You’re still an asshole, just the sweet kind.”
“Was that intentional? The sweet comment then you giving me a lollipop?” He chuckled as he took the candy.
“Just take the damn lollipop, Leclerc, or I will give you a shot.”

It’s the Accent
A/N: twice in one day? You guys are spoiled 😏
Pairing: Rhea Ripley x reader
Summary: what happens when your celebrity crush is your coworker?
Warnings: none?
Tumblr media
You were waiting in the locker room between segments, scrolling through Tiktok mindlessly while the other girls were chatting.
“Sooo who’s yours?” Liv asked with a giggle.
“Who’s my what now?” You asked, looking up from your phone.
“Your celebrity crush, weren’t you even listening?” Sonya said.
“Oh um, I don’t know. No one comes to mind,” you lied.
“Boo, that’s no fun! Tell us!” They demanded.
“Fineee, if I had to choose I guess Ruby Rose,” you sighed. It wasn’t a lie, you found her to be pretty attractive. She definitely fit your type pretty well. Speaking of your type…
“Why do you need Ruby Rose when you could have this Australian babe?” Rhea asked, entering the room after her promo. You looked over at her and she flexed for you, making you laugh.
“I feel like everyone’s had a crush on her so that doesn’t count. What about another one?” Liv pressured you for more info.
“Me, obviously,” Rhea said, coming to sit next to you, slinging an arm around you.
“Is that true?” Liv asked you. She was one of the only ones that knew about your big little crush on Rhea. You gave her a death stare before awkwardly clearing your throat.
“Well-“
“Next segment is up, let’s go!” One of the directors said, poking her head into the room pointing at you.
“Saved by the ring bell!” You laughed, happily skipping out of the room, much to Liv’s dismay. So close.
You finished up your segment and went to gather your things, already being done for the night. You expected the locker room to be empty, but to your surprise Rhea was still in there taking off her makeup.
“Oh hey, great job tonight,” you said.
“Thanks, love. Same to you,” she smiled.
She finished up what she was doing and came toward you. You froze instantly, not expecting her to be so close to you when you looked up.
“So tell me, what is it about Ruby that gets you going?” She asked, placing her hand on the locker next to you, caging you in.
“Excuse me?”
“Is it is the hair? Tattoos? I bet it’s the accent, isn’t it?” She asked, getting closer to you.
“I mean… all of it?” You squeaked.
“Good to know, gorgeous,” she chuckled.
“Hey, Rhea, you ready to go?” Damian called into the locker room.
“Yeah, be right there,” she called back, looking down at you with a smirk. “See you around, babe.”
“Bye?” You said as she left, leaving you utterly confused.
You quickly pulled out your phone and called the only person you could think of that might know something.
“Hey, what’s up?” Liv asked, finally answering.
“Did you tell Rhea anything?”
“I tell her lots of things; what in particular are you talking about?”
“You know what! She’s just been acting weird tonight and I think she’s toying with me,” you sighed.
“Or- maybe she likes you too? And this is her way of breaking the ice?” She suggested. You scoffed.
“Yeah okay, she’d never like me like that.”
“You need to be more confident. You’re a catch! Just talk to her,” Liv sighed. “I have to go but maybe text her?”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Do it! Bye!”
You hung up with a frustrated sigh. You didn’t want to let yourself believe that Rhea could like you. You didn’t want to get your hopes up just to be let down.
Before leaving, you noticed a sweater sitting on the makeup chair- Rhea’s sweater. You picked it up and held it close. You scoffed at yourself, feeling like a weirdo.
“It won’t hurt anyone,” you mumbled to yourself, slipping it on. You told yourself that you were chilly and it was easier than just carrying it with your stuff.
You made your way out of the arena and were stopped by a few fans outside. You happily took pictures with them, promising to find them on Instagram. You quickly opened your app once you were in your car, easily finding the tagged picture. You reposted it to your story with a simple heart emoji.
You drove to the hotel and made your way to your room. You checked your phone and your heart nearly stopped.
From: Mami 😍
You look real cute in my sweater 😏
Shit, shit, shit. She must’ve seen the picture you reposted. You started to panic. She didn’t seem mad but you had to come up with a response.
Cute enough that you’ll let me borrow it more often?
You left it in the locker room so I figured I’d snag it for you 😊
From: Mami 😍
You can borrow anything of mine whenever you want, gorgeous 😉
You’re such a sweetheart!
Your heart was beating faster and faster with each passing moment, you thought it might explode.
I’ll keep that in mind 😋 I’m gonna head to bed. I’ll see you tomorrow!
You panicked so you took an easy out from the conversation. You knew you’d eventually say something embarrassing so you had to end it before it even really began.
From: Mami 😍
Sleep well, Angel. Dream of me 😏
You set your phone down and took a calming breath. Was she really flirting with you? It sure seemed like it. You jumped as you heard your phone go off on the table.
From: Liv 💕
How do you go from barely talking to her to wearing her clothes in one night? Nice one!
Just a happy accident!
You couldn’t help but smile to yourself. You would’ve slept in the sweater if it was up to you, but you figured she wouldn’t want it back all wrinkled. You set it on the chair with your things and went to bed with a smile on your face.
The next morning you packed your things quickly and headed to get coffee before your flight. You met up with Liv in the airport who you filled in on your little text conversation from the previous night.
“She so likes you!”
“Or maybe she’s just joking around,” you countered.
“Girl, shut up. She’s so flirting with you!” She squealed happily.
“Keep it down!” You hushed, eyes starting to turn toward the two of you. As if on queue, the object of your conversation came toward you.
“Ladies, how are we doing this fine morning?” She asked with a huge smile.
“Good! I was just telling her how amazing she looked in your sweater,” Liv nudged you with her arm.
“She did, didn’t she?” Rhea chuckled. “Although I can’t say I’m not disappointed you’re not wearing it today.”
“Oh! I just figured you’d want it back,” you said shyly.
“Nah, you can keep it warm for me,” she said with a wink. Dominik caught her attention and waved her over. “See you on the flight, sweetheart.”
“What, am I chopped liver now?” Liv scoffed after she walked away.
“Oh shut up,” you laughed. You pulled the sweater from your bag and slipped it on. Liv was giving you the biggest shit-eating grin you’d ever seen. You rolled your eyes and flipped her off.
The flight began to board and Liv insisted on the window seat. Rhea noticed you put her sweater on and she couldn’t help but smile. Dom elbowed her in the side and gave her a smirk.
She was on the opposite side of the aisle and a few seats up which gave you the perfect opportunity to steal glances without anyone noticing. What you did notice, however, was the few times Rhea turned around and snuck a peek at you.
From: Mami 😍
Do I have something on the back of my head? 😏
Your eyes shot up and you could see her smirking from the side.
How would you know I’m looking at you if you aren’t looking at me?
Smooth, you mentally facepalmed.
From: Mami 😍
So I like to look at beautiful things, sue me 😅
So go look in a mirror then 😋
Smooth, you smirked to yourself. You saw Rhea turn around and this time she made eye contact with you. She gave you an impressed nod.
You weren’t sure where the confidence was coming from but you knew it was only over text and if she tried to flirt in person, you’d turn into a fumbling, bumbling mess.
From Mami 😍
Surprised you didn’t tell me to go look at Ruby Rose.
Why would anyone look at her when they can look at you? Couldn’t exactly say my celebrity crush is you, now could I?
You took your chance and held your breath. You put your phone down, refusing to look at her response. A voice came over the intercom telling everyone to put devices away and to prepare for landing.
Rhea looked back at you one more time but you wouldn’t look up. You knew you were in deep and you weren’t quite sure where to go from there.
The plane landed and you quickly gathered your things and were first in line to get off- but Rhea wasn’t far behind.
Once you were off the plane, you only intent was finding your ride to the hotel. It seems Rhea had similar plans because she was hot on your trail.
Before you could even get to your car, she was opening the door for you.
“After you, babe,” she nodded. You gave her a curious look but got in without question. She got in on the other side and the car pulled away.
“Yes. Yes you very much could’ve said it.” She said seemingly out of nowhere.
“What?”
“That I was your celebrity crush. You should have just said that. I mean…only if it’s true.”
Now it was her turn to get nervous. She fidgeted with her hands in her lap.
“I mean…It’s not-not true,” you mumbled. She gently took one of your hands in hers and you finally looked at her.
“So why didn’t you say that in the first place?” She asked.
“Because I know you and I don’t take rejection well. You’re you and I’m…just me.” You sighed.
“Yeah, you’re you. You’re gorgeous, funny, and incredibly talented. There’s no way in hell I would reject you,” she told you.
“Really?”
“Well there is one condition,” she said, giving you a serious look. Your heart dropped. “You have to wear my clothes more often.”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding.
“I think I can do that,” you laughed. She dipped her head down and captured your lips in a sweet kiss which you deepened. When you finally broke away she was smirking at you.
“It’s the accent, isn’t it?”

I went to see this really great Talking Heads cover band on Friday, and before the show started one of my friends ran into a guy she vaguely recognized, and while they tried to figure out how they knew each other, one of that guy’s friends started chatting me up.
Gang, I can’t stop thinking about this guy. Not because he was hot (though he was), but because I have never in my life felt so wildly unmoored while speaking to another human being.
Like, he told me his name, I told him mine, and then I made a very in context joke about a lizard - too much to explain here, but I promise it made sense at the time. He responded, and I am not taking any liberties as I quote this:
“A lizard? Aren’t those the little guys that run around on two legs sometimes?”
It is hard to know what to say to that. I am good with conversational curveballs, but this was out of left field. I hesitated, then put on a very polite social smile and responded “yeah! I guess lizards do run around on two legs sometimes!”
“You are much like a lizard, then.” He said. “You’re also on two legs.”
Well.
I was briefly saved from having to come up with a response because the opening act started playing. Opening acts are hit and miss, but I was happy to discover that this particular one, Ruby Dear, has a frontwoman with an absolutely incredible voice. Like holy shit, after the first song my friend and I looked at each other and simultaneously said “PIPES.” I got pretty into their set, and would have been bummed out when they had to wrap up if the promise of a truly spectacular Talking Heads cover band wasn’t on the horizon.
I had by this point forgotten about my new friend The Lizardman, but he tapped me on the shoulder and said “Did you like the performance?” Okay, that’s a normal question, I could handle this conversation.
“Yeah, I thought they were great! Did you like them?!” I said.
“Yes! I’ve never been to a concert before!” He replied.
Well.
“…HOW?” I finally said.
He shrugged. “I just haven’t.” I had to study him to see if he was fucking with me. He did not appear to be.
This presented a new question. He looked like he was roughly in my age range (late 20s/early 30s), but was it possible that he was very young?? He had to be at least 21 though, he’d been carded at the door and was drinking a beer. Furthermore, the friends he was with were in their late forties at the absolute youngest.
“You must really like the Talking Heads, if this is the show that got you to come out!” I finally said.
“Oh, I’ve never even heard a song by them.” He replied politely. “That’s the band that’s playing next?”
Well.
“The band playing tonight is called Start Making Sense.” I finally explained, after I had wrapped my mind around this. “They play songs by the Talking Heads. The Talking Heads broke up in like 1990.”
“Oh! Cool!” He said. “Were they any good?”
“… Yes.” I said after another few moments of interal debate about whether this guy was fucking with me. He had to be fucking with me.
Per the awestruck expression on his face after the band opened with Psycho Killer, he was not fucking with me. And he had questions.
“EVERYONE IN THE AUDIENCE KNEW ALL THE WORDS?!??” He exclaimed.
“YEAH WE ALL LIKE TALKING HEADS ENOUGH TO GO TO A TALKING HEADS COVER SHOW!” I yelled back.
“THAT’S AMAZING!” He decided.
And like, putting myself in his shoes (by which I mean the shoes of a time traveler from either 1600 or 2400), I had to agree with him.

daycare pt. 2
ellie williams x reader
description: ellie williams is forced to work at a daycare. in part two, she gets more comfortable with her new job and with you. 2.5k words
omg im so happy a lot of people liked the first one!!! i hope u guys like this one too. i love writing ab ellie and am open to any suggestions you may have!!
part one: https://www.tumblr.com/erooca/724971592933834752/daycare
Tumblr media
ever since you met ellie, you started seeing her more around your campus. every once in a while, y’all would go study together or maybe grab a coffee, but she’s never invited you back to her dorm before, at least not until right now.
like the gentleman she is, she held the door open and you walked in, instantly getting hit with the scent of ellie. specifically a nice, light scent of tobacco vanilla, which felt very on point for the freckled girl.
her dorm was small, smaller than yours since she had one to herself, while you shared with roommates. all that was in here was a bed, a desk, a mini fridge, storage, and a door leading to a bathroom.
her back wall was filled with little sketches everywhere. you knew she liked to draw, but you had no idea it meant this much to her. you took in all the drawings, examining them one by one. you see sketches of horses, dinosaurs (no surprise there), sunsets and just a lot of landscapes in general, and you see a few of an older looking man. you assume its her father.
ellie is watching you nervously as you examine all her drawings. she was scared as shit that you were finally in her dorm, but she also had a tingling feeling in her heart because you were surrounded completely by her and only her at the moment. she could get used to this.
it had been two weeks since her first day at the daycare. for two whole weeks, her thoughts have been plagued by you. she was loving it. she loved spending a full eight hour shift with you. just to see you, she would even come in five or ten minutes early.
she wasn’t very secretive about her crush on you. she did a lot of things for you. if you went on break earlier than her, she’d pick you up something to eat and would forbid you from paying her back. she would also buy things you had mentioned you needed for the classroom. one time, she even brought you a candy bar since she noticed you weren’t as energetic as your usual self.
even after all these gracious gifts, you were oblivious. it drove ellie insane. she really didn’t want to have to confess it out loud to you. she was really hoping you’d just take the hint and ask her out yourself. ellie has a bit of a hard time with rejection and she can’t imagine pouring out her feelings to you just for you to tell her you didn’t feel the same about her.
“hey.. is this one of king’s drawings?” you said, pointing at a colorful and bright picture. it had two stick figures with a hell of a lot of scribbles.
“oh yeah, he said he drew it for me,” ellie smiled, reliving the memory. king had told her it was a drawing of her and him hanging out together. ellie asked if she could keep the drawing and of course king said yes.
“that’s so sweet,” you smiled brightly. you were so happy ellie already made a strong connection with one of the students. the best part about working with kids is seeing the way you influence them and make them better humans.
ellie nodded.
“so, did ya’ wanna order pizza and watch a movie?” ellie asked.
“that sounds like a perfect way to relax after a week of working.”
you guys settle onto ellie’s bed (since there’s no couch) watching a random movie on netflix waiting for the pizza.
it was a really good night. you wish you could spend every night like this.
the next monday, you were eagerly waiting for ellie to enter the classroom door. you were so excited to see her. you guys had such a great time on saturday, and you couldn’t wait to be in ellie’s presence again.
when the door opened, all the children screamed out ellie’s name, getting up to go give her a hug.
“ellie!! guess what my mom did this weekend!!” a blonde girl named charlie asked.
“i went to the park yesterday ellie!!” pippa told her.
“hey! hey! ellie!” another kid called for attention.
ellie laughed and listened to each of the kids one by one. it warmed your heart so much seeing your students gathered around ellie, telling her stories and giving her hugs. you felt like you could burst from the warmth that spread throughout your body.
when she was finished, she got up and locked eyes with you. she greeted you and that was when you noticed two starbucks cups in her hands. she sheepishly handed one of them out to you.
“ellie, you shouldn’t have done this,” you said, taking the cup from her even though it contradicted your words.
“gotta get a coffee for my favorite coworker,” her lips rose into a half smile.
you brought the drink up to your lips and sipped. you’ve had starbucks countless times, but this one tasted different. it tasted amazing and you know it’s because it was ellie who bought it for her. you thanked her.
the day continued on as usual. while you were outside, you watched as the kids ganged up on ellie to chase her and take her to “jail”. you watched her run, taking the game a little too seriously. it made you think how she’d probably survive a zombie apocalypse, if it ever happened.
she easily got cornered and king tugged her hand, leading her to the fence. some of the other kids did a locking motion, acting as though ellie was chained to the fence.
“don’t get out!!!” one of the boys, william, said.
you made your way over, innocently.
“how’s jail?” you ask.
“oh, ha ha,” she said sarcastically, then her eyes lit up, as if she had a great idea, “hey.. unlock me!” she said, glancing at her hands.
“you do realize you aren’t actually locked in, right?” you ask, laughing.
ellie scoffs. you follow through with her request anyway, motioning an unlocking gesture. then ellie bolted.
“HEY! they let ellie out! get both of them!” one of the kids yelled.
now both of you were running for your lives from a big group of three year olds.
once you guys came inside, you had lunch, and then nap time. when the kids woke up, you opted to do floor toys and just keep them all on the colorful alphabet rug.
you sat with the children, watching them build with the duplo legos. they were each having you look at what they made. you praised them each time, suggesting they add a different colored block or make it taller. soon, you felt a bit tired so you laid down onto the carpet.
this turned out to be a bad idea when half of your students rolled on top of you, leaving you no room to even move. all you could hear was the sounds of your three year olds giggling, as they tortured you.
you called out for help from ellie but was met with the response of laughter coming from her.
wow. your own friend. you thought up your revenge plan quickly, “everyone!!!” you shouted, catching their attentions, “go give ellie a kiss!!”
“what? no- no,” but it was too late. the kids ran up to her, giving her kisses on her arms and hands. a few even gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“payback,” you smirk at her, watching as she’s trying to control the kids now.
“oh you’re evil,” she responds, playfully narrowing her eyes at you.
the rest of the day went by fast, but this time ellie wasn’t leaving when you got down to less kids. maria had asked that you go through all the cleaning duties with her that are required for closing. you agreed, obviously excited to spend even more with her. you decided to wait until all the children were gone to start teaching it. it would allow you to give ellie your full focus.
all the kids were called to leave one by one and soon it was 6:00 and all the kids had went home. it was just ellie and you in the room. you could already feel the intense butterflies moving through you. god, your crush had gotten bad.
ignoring the feeling in your stomach that was so extreme it almost hurt, you showed ellie the closet.
“so we keep the vacuum and broom in here, and all of the cleaning chemicals. there’s bleach water, soapy water, floor spray, and a bathroom cleaner,” you explain to ellie.
you went inside to pull out the vacuum but with a mighty tug, the vacuum wouldn’t come loose. it was stuck in between the children’s mats. you said a naughty word but kept trying.
“here, let me help,” ellie said from outside the closet, stepping inside.
“wait! don’t let the door—“
click
“shut..”
“oh fuck. did i just lock us in here?” ellie asked, wide eyed as soon as she heard the click of the lock.
“uhh.. yeah. you did. it’s alright, i’m sure someone will find us soon,” you said, hopeful.
the closet wasn’t super tight, but it definitely wasn’t spacious. you were a little too close to ellie for comfort. you could already feel your heart racing. someone better find you guys soon, or you might have a heart attack.
“i’m gonna see if maybe i can like.. jam the door open,” you said, trying to switch spots with ellie so you were closer to the door. you couldn’t ignore the way your skin touched hers in an effort to get across.
you started wiggling the handle with all your might, trying to move it up, down, and side to side. it wasn’t budging.
“try moving it like this,” ellie had found her way right behind you. she rested her hand on the door handle where yours was. your pinkies overlapped and ellie started jiggling the handle too.
you looked to your side and noticed she had her other hand resting on the door, for support, to the right of your head. she was basically leaning over you, trapping you within her arms.
“yeah we’re not getting out of this any time soon,” ellie states, letting her hand rest on the door knob.
you finally turned around to face her and it both hit you how close you both had gotten. your back was against the door and she was right in front of you, only maybe a foot away.
ellie felt a dust of pink wash over her cheeks as she realized how close she was to you. she hadn’t meant to position you like this, but she wasn’t complaining.
ellie was keeping her eyes locked with yours and neither of you guys made an attempt to move. you could hear as her breath was moving more rigid.
it was becoming too much for you, and you glanced down, forcing your head to look at the ground. you tried to relax your heart that seemed as though it was clawing out of your chest.
a soft hand rose to the bottom of your chin, and pulled it upwards, forcing you to look back at ellie.
“don’t.” ellie whispered, not taking her eyes off of you.
you don’t think you’ve ever desired someone as much as you desired ellie right now. you were so close to grabbing her face, giving her as many kisses as she deserved, but instead you stood still, frozen under ellie’s dominant position.
ellie took the hand from your chin and moved it to gently tuck a wisp of hair behind your ear, “wanna see your pretty face…” she let her hand rest on her cheek.
your whole face turned a blushy color at her words. how was this girl you met only a few weeks ago making you sink into a puddle?
“ellie..” you breathed out, scanning her face, trying to decipher any thought she might have. from up this close, you could see how irregular her pattern of freckles were. how they were different shades of the same color. you could count them all from this position, and you happily would.
“can i please kiss you?” ellie asked, in almost a puppy dog voice.
you didn’t trust yourself with your voice right now (hell, you’d probably accidentally propose to her), so you gave a sweet nod.
she took a step closer to you, bodies mere inches from colliding, she watched your eyes and glanced to your lips.
“are you sure?” she asked, wanting to confirm that this is genuinely what you wanted. her eyes went back up to yours and she searched them.
instead of answering, you moved forward closing the gap. your soft lips met with her chapped ones. ellie made a noise of surprise at your sudden movement, but easily got comfortable, kissing you back.
she pulled back after a moment, but stayed close to your face.
“holy fuck,” she breathed out, trying to regain any sense of herself she had previously.
before you had a chance to say anything, she reconnected her lips with yours. she placed her hands on your hips, pulling you in closer. you crossed your hands around her neck. you don’t ever think you’ve felt this kind of rush before. all you knew was that you wanted ellie closer. you wanted to be surrounded by her completely. now that you’ve kissed her once, you don’t think you’ll ever be able to stop kissing her.
she slowly started kissing along your jawline, and then trailing her lips down your neck. you giggling at the sensation from the way it tickled your skin.
ellie liked the way your throat felt under her mouth. she continued to leave soft kisses all on you. you could feel your hunger for her grow stronger and stronger.
just then the door swung open, leaving you to fall on the ground, and ellie tumbling over you. you both groaned in pain.
maria stood in front of you two’s lying bodies. she cleared her throat awkwardly. it was obvious she saw what you guys were doing before you fell.
“i’m not gonna talk about what i just saw, but how many times have i told you not to let that door shut??” maria said, only acting angry to wash away the awkward feeling of walking in on her (basically) niece making out with one of her best workers.
“it was my fault, maria. i let the door close,” ellie said, taking the blame. she stood up from the ground, and then held out a hand to you. you gladly took it and she pulled you up.
maria sighed in frustration, “don’t let it happen again, and get this room clean. we lock up in 15 minutes.”
as soon as she leaves the room, you erupt in giggles, thinking of how shocked maria’s face was. ellie joined your laughter, just now realizing how silly the situation had become.
knowing there wasn’t any time left to dilly-dally, you two sped cleaned the room.
you hoped the next couple days would be full of more closet kisses, more of those loving looks ellie had given you today, or even wishful touches throughout the hours.
unknown to your knowledge, ellie was planning on giving you every single one of those for the rest of her life.

‘hey, how’d it go?’
‘uh. not great.’
‘shit. tell me.’
‘ well, it started kinda fine. she kept, like, looking at my neck, but she didn’t say anything. but we got along pretty well.’
‘ did you hook up?’
‘ well. we were going to. but it was… i don’t know. weird.’
‘weird awkward?’
‘yeah. like it just… jesus, i don’t know. it felt wrong? but not, like, wrong wrong, just. weird.’
‘sure.’
‘it was like we didn’t know what to do.’
‘how far’d you get?’
‘we made out. but when i went to take my shirt off, she said— i’m not exaggerating— oh my go-od.’
‘jesus, steve.’
‘yeah. honestly i don’t even know why i fucking bother.’
‘what do you mean?’
‘ i dunno. guess i knew i’m fucking ugly now, i guess i just kinda… i don’t know. hoped it wasn’t that bad. but i’m an idiot, so.’
‘jesus, steve, shut the fuck up.’
‘huh?’
‘you’re not— fuck, there was so much wrong with all of that, oh my god.’
‘eddie.’
‘no— okay, alright. steve. you’re not ugly.’
‘she recoiled, eddie.’
‘okay, well, cindy alden is a bitch. i remember her from school, she’s always been awful. don’t laugh, i’m serious, she’s terrible.’
‘okay, eddie.’
‘you’re not ugly.’
‘i’m…’
‘steve. you’re not ugly. your scars are cool.’
‘think you’re the only one that thinks that.’
‘well my opinion is the most important, so.’
‘okay, eddie.’
‘look. your scars are metal as fuck. even if you don’t think so.’
‘…’
‘when you see my scars, do you think they’re ugly?’
‘wha— no, of course not.’
‘so why do you think yours are ugly?’
‘…i dont know.’
‘have you actually looked at your scars? taken a really good look?’
‘i don’t really want to.’
‘look at them. now.’
‘eddie.’
‘come on, stevie, humour me.’
‘…okay. i’m looking.’
‘have you noticed how they, like, kinda swirl a little bit?’
‘…noticing that now.’
‘don’t they kinda look like storm clouds?’
‘…’
‘steve?’
‘yeah. a little bit. guess that’s… kinda cool.’
‘and the colours? aren’t they pretty?’
‘you’re trying to make me feel better about myself.’
‘yeah. i am. aren’t they pretty?’
‘…yeah. i guess.’
‘and our scars match. that’s pretty cool. they’re like friendship bracelets.’
‘some fucked up friendship bracelets. but yeah. it’s kinda nice that i’m not the only one.’
‘you’re not ugly, steve. even with your sick-ass scars, you’re ho— you’re so cool.’
‘yeah? you think i’m pretty, eddie?’
‘…anyway. don’t worry about what cindy alden has to say. you’re good. and you’re not an idiot.’
‘okay, eddie.’
‘don’t okay, eddie me, i’m serious. you’re pretty smart, steve.’
‘okay, maybe i’m not an idiot, but i wouldn’t go so far as to say i’m smart.’
‘well, it’s a good thing i’m not asking you, isn’t it? don’t sigh at me. you’re smart.”
‘eddie, i don’t mind being the dumb one of the group, it’s fine.’
‘no, it’s not, steve. you’re not the dumb one. just because you’re not a science nerd or something doesn’t mean you’re not smart.’
‘in what way am i smart?’
‘you’re observant as fuck, steve. i’m serious, you are. dustin and robin told me about how they only realised the russian code was coming from hawkins because you were the only one that recognized the music in it.’
‘…’
‘we only figured out we could communicate from the upside down because you heard dustin. no one else heard him.’
‘you guys thought i was crazy.’
‘yeah, until we heard him too, and then i thought holy shit, this guy’s got ears like a fuckin’ bat.’
‘…’
‘you knew how to drive that rv right away.’
‘didn’t have much of a choice.’
‘what i meant was that you’d never driven an rv before.’
‘…‘s true.’
‘you’re really smart, steve. you’re… resourceful. and intuitive, and observant, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t know science-y shit.’
‘…okay.’
‘and even if you weren’t smart, it wouldn’t matter. you’re more than your body and brains, stevie.’
‘what else am i, eddie?’
‘jesus, where should i start? …okay. you’re really sweet.’
‘sweet?’
‘so fucking sweet, steve, you’re one of the nicest people i know. even in high school, you were nicer than the other douche bags. and now you’re… you’re kind, steve. even if you’re being bitchy. you’re kind, and considerate, and patient when you need to be.’
‘…okay.’
‘and you’re… you’re funny. i know all the kids make fun of your jokes, but i laugh at all of them.’
‘thanks.’
‘you’re a good friend.’
‘am i?’
‘remember what i said about you being observant?’
‘yeah?’
‘i swear you can walk into a room and just… know. like, if anything is wrong, you pick up on it immediately, it’s insane. and you always know exactly what people need. you’re… safe.’
‘…safe?’
‘yeah. safe. everyone’s totally comfortable around you. the kids fucking adore you.’
‘really?’
‘yeah. the other day we were hanging out while you and robin were at work, and erica sighed very loudly and complained that she missed you.’
‘erica said that?’
‘erica fucking sinclair said, and i quote, i miss steve.’
‘…that’s really nice.’
‘you’re a good guy, steve, seriously. you’re selfless and brave and kind, and i love how you look after everyone, and how your eyes light up when talk about your sports, and how you get all mushy about the kids when they’re not around, and—’
‘…’
‘look. you’re, like, the best. and it— it breaks my fucking heart to hear you talk about yourself like you’re some piece of shit.’
‘…’
‘steve?’
‘…’
‘fuck, are you crying?’
‘…no?’
‘fuck, steve, i’m—’
‘eddie?’
‘yeah?’
‘i… i have to tell you something.’
‘what is it? are you okay?’
‘…i’m falling in love with you.’
‘…what?’
‘i’m sorry, eddie.’
‘no, don’t hang up, stevie— you’re— are you sure?’

‘so good. you’re so perfect.’
‘fuck.’

‘don’t apologise, stevie, i’m— i’m in love with you too.’
‘…say it again.’
‘i’m in love with you, too.’
‘holy shit.’

‘i’m okay. i’m… can you come over?’

‘or— or i can go to yours, i just— i wanna see you.’
‘you do?’
‘i wanna… i wanna kiss you.’
‘fuck. fuck, fuck, ow, okay, i’m—‘
‘what just happened?’
‘i fell off my bed, i’m fine, i can be there in a few minutes.’
‘are you sure?’
‘holy shit, steve, yes, i’ll be right over.’
‘okay.’
‘okay.’
‘wait, eddie—’
‘yeah?’
‘…i love you.’
‘fuck. i love you too. i’ll be right there, stevie.’
‘okay.’

Finally found you (part II)
Hello everyone, I'm so happy you seemed to have enjoyed the first part of this soulmate AU with Bo Sinclair x female reader x Vincent Sinclair. You can find the first part here.
Hope you'll enjoy the second part! <3
For the moment, a third part isn't planned, but please let me know if you want more!
Warnings: a few strong words, the boys arguing and lying to you about Ambrose.
You slowly opened your eyes. You were feeling a lot better, just thirsty and a little bit hungry. But you were alright. Your head even stopped hurting. You wondered how long you had been out though. And more importantly, where were you?
When you fully went back to reality, you realised that two men seemed to argue in front of you. Well at least, one of them was angrily talking to the other one. After a few seconds your eyes were able to focus enough for you to make out that the man who wasn’t talking was actually answering back with sign language. His gestures were quick and aggressive, so you guessed he wasn’t happy either.
You softly groaned as you tried to sit up and both the men stopped arguing to help you out, making sure you weren’t going to fall.
“Ya good?” Bo asked you and you nodded. You recognised his presence from earlier and you guessed he was the one who carried you inside this house.
“Can I have water please?” you whispered and he was quick to go grab you a glass from the kitchen.
You turned your attention toward the other man. He was wearing a mask, and he seemed to be trying to hide it with his hair, a little bit self conscious. At the same time, he was staring at you with great intensity. But strangely enough, it wasn’t scaring you or bothering you. You even found it weirdly attractive. Probably because you could read strong desire for you in the way he gazed at you. You were quite curious about what was going on. You even wanted to ask why they were arguing, but you stopped yourself from doing so. You didn’t know them and you were grateful they took care of you when you fainted.
You thanked Bo when he gave you the glass of fresh water and you happily hummed as you sipped it, before leaning back against the couch. The drink helped you fully focus back as both the men never stopped looking at you.
“Thank you for having brought me here” you finally said because you didn’t really know how to handle such a heavy and tense silence otherwise “I think I collapsed… Is it Ambrose?” you asked, trying to recall what happened before you lost consciousness.
The masked man nodded.
“Yeah. Saw ya fallin’ on the ground like an angel reachin’ Earth” the other one said and it sounded a lot like flirting. The masked one seemed to roll his eye and then he crossed his arms on his chest. You nervously chuckled.
“Ain’t an angel unfortunately, or I wouldn’t have gotten lost” you replied
“Ya ain’t lost” the man shook his head with a little smile but you didn’t understand.
“Well I was supposed to go to Mexico, so it does look like I’m lost to me” you replied with a little frown even though you kept politely smiling at the man.
There was something about them… you could feel how dark and dangerous they were. It was as if you could read their minds and their desires. But you weren’t afraid, as if you knew that their rage and violence couldn't be used against you. You still thought you should be nice to them, just in case.
The twins exchanged a look before showing you their soulmate marks on their arms. You leaned forward to have a better look at them. At first, you didn’t understand, because they weren’t the same as yours. But then your grandmother’s words resonated inside your mind and you started to imagine the two marks overlapped.
Fuck, it would look exactly like yours.
And fuck, she was right: you seemed to have two soulmates.
“Oh” was all you could say, completely taken aback. You hadn’t imagined you would find your soulmates in the middle of nowhere, or like that. You had also hoped for a more romantic meeting than you fainting in front of them. You probably weren’t looking your best either. Not like the man in suit in front of you, or the one wearing a mask. You hoped they were thinking you were as hot as you thought they were.
Before your silence could worry them you added: “You should thank my bad luck, you know. That’s how I ended here” you hummed “oh shit, my car” you groaned as you suddenly recalled why you had to walk under the burning sun of this part of the country.
“Your car?” Bo asked
“Yeah, it’s in the middle of the road, the engine decided to go have a nap on me” you rolled your eyes
“I’ll take care of it, don’t worry ‘bout anythin’, love” he reassuringly said. He took his phone out of his pocket to send a message to Lester about the car, so his kid brother wouldn’t worry about it either.
Another moment of silence passed between the three of you. It seemed that the boys didn’t really know how to handle the situation either. It was as if they didn’t believe you would ever appear in their existences, and they were wondering if you were really theirs. Something else was obviously bothering them, but you couldn’t guess what it was for the moment.
“So we’re all soulmates” you nibbled on your bottom lips, trying to hide a little smile. You were happy to have found them in all honesty.
“Well at least you’re ours” Bo nodded as his eyes went back to you. He put his phone back in his pocket as well.
“What?” you frowned, not certain what he meant by that.
“I’m Bo Sinclair and this’ my twin Vincent.” Bo introduced the two of you and your eyes widened
“Oh shit” you let out “That’s why you were arguing when I woke up?” you asked and the men exchanged another look before Vincent nodded at you once again.
“I’m Y/N L/N by the way” you told them “And I’m sure we’ll find a way, right? I mean your twins, it must be usual for you to… hmm… share? I was really really impatient to meet you, guys, so if you could do that without killing each other I’d be very grateful too” you told them with big doe eyes.
They quickly knew they couldn’t deny you anything so they simply nodded. In a way, it made a lot of sense that they were sharing the same soulmate. They used to sort of share the same body when they were in their mother’s womb, and they both thought more than once that they even shared the same soul. It seemed they were right about it.
“Do you usually get along?” you asked and they both nodded but without great enthusiasm, which worried you a little. You nervously nibbled on your lips once again. “That’s not a very comforting answer,” you admitted.
“Sorry, love. It’s just… Yeah, we do get along. We live in the same house after all” Bo replied as he gestured around him. “But we never thought about sharing the same soulmate. And we can both be…” Bo trailed off as he was looking for the right word. Vincent signed a word and Bo sent an impressed look to his twin. He didn’t want to say something like that in front of you.
“What did Vincent say?” you asked, annoyed that you couldn’t understand sign language. Vincent softly shivered at the sound of his name coming from your mouth. It was the most delicious thing he ever heard.
“He said… possessive” Bo finally answered because it felt too difficult to lie to you. You felt yourself blushing and you had to look away.
“It’s… fine. We’ll find a way.” you reassuringly smiled. “I was supposed to go to Mexico for the holidays… But I can call my hotel and cancel it, if you want. I could stay my week off here. But after that, I’ll have to go back to work. And you are quite away from me. I saw you have phones though?” you softly babbled.
The twins exchanged a look. They really didn’t plan on letting you go that easily and you could still feel something dark around the three of you.
“Answer, please. I’m not a telepath” you called them out and they quickly looked back at you.
“Sorry, love. Of course we’d love to have ya here for a little while… Forever actually” Bo smoothly replied and you couldn’t stop yourself from giggling. The boys instantly melted for that sound.
“Well forever sounds nice but it won’t happen right away. Are there any jobs around here?” you asked “I mean, I don’t mind moving in Ambrose, but there is no way I’m playing the housewife for you two guys, and I really mean it.” You told them and they both raised their hands in defence in front of them.
“Never asked for this, love.”
“We’re in Texas, you never know.” You gently teased which made them smile. They enjoyed your playful demeanour.
They couldn’t deny that your determination and the way you knew what you wanted was very attractive to the two men. They knew you were going to challenge them and they really needed that.
But they were worried about how you were going to react when you would learn what they were doing in Ambrose. They could always try to hide the truth from you during one small week, but they wouldn’t be able to do that forever. In addition, you would quickly realise you were living in a ghost town. They were going to agree with Lester on what to tell you so it would satisfy your curiosity without making you realise your soulmates were sadistic killers. Unlike them, you sounded like such a good and bright person. You didn’t seem surrounded by darkness.
They didn’t want you to be afraid of them.
You could tell something was wrong.
“Is everything okay?” you asked, and you worried that they weren’t liking you that much or that they were disappointed in you already.
“O’course, love. We just never thought we’d find ya” Bo replied and you tried to smile
“If you weren’t hiding somewhere even maps don’t know about, it would’ve been easier though.” You hummed and you saw the twins exchanging a look so you understood you touched something there. “What are you doing here, anyways? And you didn’t answer me about jobs” you added. You looked at the window and you realised how quiet it seemed outside. “What’s going on here?” You insisted.
“Nothin’ ya have to worry ‘bout, love. We’re your soulmates, remember, ya can trust us.” He smiled at you and you shivered.
Those boys were up to no good but you already loved them.

Can you use prompt 56. “Just marry me already “ and 97. “If you interrupt me one more time - so help me god” with Steve Harrington x Henderson!reader with Steve proposing at a inopportune time?
hiii! i did this as a smaller blurb, hope that’s okay! it’s just under 1k words and it’s cute and fluffy i hope u like it <3
Family dinners were always hectic, especially when yours just so happened to be the Hendersons. Your brother Dustin would nag you with no end, and your mom would be fussing over everyone.
Usually, it’d just be the three of you at the dinner table, but ever since you started dating Steve, there would be a fourth spot set and filled. Dustin loved him, of course, and was over the moon when you told him the two of you were together. Your mom found Steve charming and she laughed at every joke he threw her way. You’d watch the interactions with a smile on your face, happy that Steve was so welcome and comfortable with your family.
As the years went by, you and Steve eventually moved in together, finding a small but cozy apartment that was still close to your family. It was home, because it was with Steve. It was pictures in frames and your favorite blanket thrown over the back of the couch.
Today, you and Steve were hosting dinner for your family, deciding to relieve your mother of cooking for a night and finally letting Dustin—who was growing up way too fast for your liking—come visit like he always asked. Considering you weren’t together all the time anymore, you thought it would be nice to spend an evening with the people you were closest to.
Steve loved your family, because they were his, too. He was closer with them than he was with his own parents, having grown sick of their absence and high expectations. You were the love of his life, and you welcomed him with open arms at every given chance.
The two of you stood together in your kitchen preparing dinner, arms brushing every so often and small smiles shared when you’d lock eyes. You never got enough of these moments, domestic and sweet, a glimpse of what forever would look like with Steve.
He bought a ring ages ago, it sat heavy in his drawer and in his mind every day. He knew he wanted to marry you, and he wasn’t worried that you’d say no, he just wanted it to be perfect.
“Baby, could you hand me the salt?”
You snapped him out of his thoughts, and he nodded, passing you what you’d asked for and giving himself a mental shake to get out of his head.
“Here you go. You excited?”
“Yeah, actually. Haven’t really had a dinner with them since the holidays.”
“Mhm. I love those guys. And I love you.”
He gave you a little tap on the nose, which you scrunched in return, laughing and grinning all giddy. Nothing has changed between the two of you, you only continued to grow together, and you loved that you felt just a strongly for him as you did years ago.
“We all love you too, Steve. You know you’re a part of this family. That’s not gonna change anytime soon.”
“Just marry me already.”
He didn’t mean to let it slip out, but it did. He loved you so much and he didn’t want to wait any longer to ask you for forever. His and yours, spent alongside each other. But, he really did want to ask you properly and this is not what he had planned. Hands messy from your cooking, still in your rumpled clothes from the day.
“What?”
“So. I have a ring and I’ve had it for, like, ever but I never knew when to ask you and I guess now is as good a time as ever so-”
He quickly wiped off his hands on a small towel, then ran to your shared room to grab said ring and came back to you standing in the same spot. This is not how you expected the night to go, but you can’t say you’re upset about it.
“Steve, oh my god. What?”
“Look, it’s not huge but it’s pretty and I love you and-”
“Baby. It’s perfect.”
“That’s great, now please stop interrupting me.”
He sank down slowly on one knee, still watching your face closely and he could see the tears that gathered in your eyes, almost spilling. He could also see your smile, happy and surprised.
“Ever since I’ve known you I’ve wanted to be with you, every second of every day. Like, I miss you when you’re not around and all that shit. You know I love you, and I know you love me, so this is me asking if you maybe wanted to love me forever? Will you marry me?”
The tears you were trying to hold back were falling now, a laugh escaping you because this was so perfect, even if Steve didn’t think so, it was. The impromptu proposal was private, it was messy, but it was exactly what you wanted. Just you, and Steve, in your cute little apartment.
“Yes, of course. Get up here.”
He placed the ring on your finger, getting back to his feet and kissing you with his hands on your cheeks. You grasped his wrists, kissing him back and tasting the saltiness of your happy tears in the midst of it. It was broken by smiles, teeth clinking, but it was the promise of forever and more and that’s what mattered.
The doorbell ringing broke you and Steve apart, and you remembered the guests you were expecting, Steve looking at you with that boyish grin saying, “guess we have some news to share, huh?”

Crush (Shuri x Reader)
You had just finished cleaning your room when your doorbell rang. Your friend Shuri stood at your door.
“Hey,” You both said.
Her eyes held yours sincerely. “Sorry for just popping up.” She knew you weren’t a fan of surprise visits. What she didn’t know, however, was you didn’t mind if it was her. She smiled at you appreciatively when you welcomed her inside. “So what were you up to before I came?” She looked at you curiously as she sat down on the loveseat.
“Just cleaning. Was about to shower, you know how it is.”
“Oh, you were doing a deep clean.” The pair of you chuckled. “You go do what you need to do. I’ll be here.”
“Make yourself at home, okay?”
Around twenty minutes later, you returned to Shuri, who was watching Rush Hour. You smiled in amusement. “Ha, a throwback.”
“My brother liked this movie,” Shuri shared.
“Oh, yeah? He has good taste.” In more ways than one, you thought.
Shuri smirked.
“What?” You dragged out. You pretended not to know that she was most likely thinking about your crush on Nakia.
“What did I tell you, Y/N? Never gonna happen.”
“Didn’t you play matchmaker for Riri?”
“Yeah…”
“So why can’t you do that with me and Nakia?”
Shuri rolled her eyes. “What makes you think she’d be interested?”
“Wow, what is that supposed to mean, Shuri?”
Shuri closed her eyes momentarily, shaking her head. “No, I didn’t mean it like that. I wasn’t trying to offend you.”
“Well, I’m offended.”
“I’m just saying that Nakia is focused on her and Toussaint. I’m not even sure she wants to move on.”
“Unless she specifically told you she’s not interested in me, you can’t assume.”
Shuri caught your icy tone. “If it’s that important, you can reach out to her yourself.”
“Maybe I will.”
“Great.”
To say the room was stuffed with tension would be an understatement. You didn’t understand Shuri’s problem. She’d known of your interest in Nakia and had the means to connect you both, yet there had been no action taken on her part.
“What, do you think I’m overstepping ‘cause she was your brother’s love?”
Your heart started to race. For some reason, you hoped this wasn’t an issue for Shuri.
Surprisingly, Shuri gave a light chuckle. “Nah.”
You raised an eyebrow, expecting her to continue, only to receive silence. She turned to look at you. Her stare was the strongest it’d ever been, which said a lot. Shuri typically made vivid eye contact anyway. “I just rememberedI have a meeting to prepare for. Good night, Y/N.”
Since when does Shuri forget she has meetings?
You frowned. “Oh, okay. Good night. Get home safe.”
Figuring she didn’t want to stay because of the little argument you just had, you let it go.
She thanked you and let herself out.
~~
The next day during your lunch break, you went out to eat with Riri. She worked at the same company as you but in the tech division. You were discussing how your schedules were so hectic that at times lunch wasn’t a priority. You both vowed to change that as it was unhealthy and unfair.
“Like Nicki Minaj said, he can tell I ain’t missing no meals. That’s the energy I need to be on,” Riri declared.
“I know that’s right!”
Your conversation caught the attention of a woman who looked amused. You froze when you realized it was Nakia. She gave you a lovely smile. Did Shuri finally tell her about you?
She eventually looked away, paying attention on the line she occupied to either place her order or pick it up.
Your eyes widened as you looked at Riri. “Did you see that?”
“I did.”
“I have to talk to her. It’s my chance. Right?”
Riri twisted her lips to the side and slowly shrugged. “I mean, I guess.”
“It’s a sign,” You insisted in a more serious tone than you’d intended.
“Okay,” she said, leaning back some.
You smiled at her, not wanting her to take your behavior wrong. “Wish me luck.”
Riri watched you amble to the line in hopes of landing Nakia’s attention once more. You were nervous but the smile Nakia had sent you was encouraging.
“Hello,” You greeted, causing Nakia to lock eyes with you.
She smiled again. “Hi.”
“You’re Nakia, right?”
“Yes…and who are you?”
“I’m Shuri’s friend.”
Her demeanor relaxed. “Oh! Okay, that’s nice.” She quickly checked you out. “How are you?”
“Good, good, do you like the movies?”
There was a pause that almost made you want to sink into the floor.
“As in going to the cinema? I do…one second, that’s my food.” She held up a finger and walked up to the counter to collect her order. You nodded and moved out the way so the next person could get on line. Nakia checked her bag to ensure her complete order was there. Satisfied, she walked over to you. “Okay, you were saying?”
“Would you like to go to the movies and have dinner this week?”
Nakia stared at you causing you to blush.
“I’m sorry,” You said and walked away, accepting the situation.
“Hey, wait.” You turned around to meet her eyes. “Which friend are you?”
“You mean, my name?” You asked, needing clarity.
She nodded once and you told her.
Nakia wore a half-smile. “I’m sorry, I can’t. But thank you.” She squeezed your shoulder. “You have a good one.”
You avoided eye contact with Riri when you returned to your booth.
“You okay?” She said.
You flipped your hand. “I’m a big girl. I can take rejection.”
Riri just looked at you with a sympathetic smile.
“Shuri was right,” You realized, poking at your food. “She knew.”
“Knew what?”
“She knew Nakia would say no. I think she was actually trying to protect me. Not that I need protection, but to spare my feelings.” You shook your head with a dry laugh. “She was trying to tell me.”
“Trying to tell you what?” Riri tilted her head some.
Your shrug looked careless though the opposite was true. You definitely cared. “I guess that Nakia wasn’t interested.”
Riri hummed and there were a few beats before she spoke again. “Y/N, this wasn’t really my place to say something, but you just look so sad right now…”
“I do?”
“Like a little puppy…yeah, so I’mma say it. The reason Shuri didn’t want to set you up with Nakia is because she wants you. And she might’ve told Nakia.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “…Did Shuri tell you this?”
“Yes, why do you think I introduced you?”
“Because we were both at your house?”
Riri laughed. “Man, you can be clueless sometimes. Not only that, Y/N. I was trying to hook y’all up! She hooked me up with my boo and I wanted to return the favor. Shuri acts like she’s in a relationship with that lab of hers. Plus, after everything she’s been through and still goes through, I wanted her to be happy.”
“And you picked me?”
“Yeah, Y/N. Not only are you beautiful, you would treat her right, and bring joy to her life. I know it ‘cause you bring it to mines.” She smiled. “I knew y’all would be good for each other. But then you started going on about Nakia.”
As you listened to Riri, you found yourself in awe. You recalled when you and Shuri first met. You’d found her attractive from the start. She was the kind of beauty that left people mesmerized.  But her looks were the least of it. The woman was badass. It was kind of intimidating.
“This is crazy…did Shuri tell you this?”
“Yes, she’d seen you checking Nakia out and heard you calling her hot. It made her  back off.”
“She gave up that easy?”
“She’s sensitive like that.”
“Wow. Truthfully, I thought she only saw me as a friend. I didn’t think she was into me in that way.”
“She was and still is.”
“Was she hurt by my interest in Nakia?”
“I wouldn’t say hurt, but a little annoyed. I think you should talk to her for yourself. I mean, do you like Shuri?”
“I mean, yeah. She’s extraordinary yet down to earth and funny. And she’s obviously not bad on the eyes.”
“And rich. Very rich.”
You playfully rolled your eyes. “Since we’re being honest…I was insecure about her status. I just didn’t think I would fit in with her world. You see the shit they put Meghan Markle through?”
Riri laughed for a good several seconds. “Y/N.”
“I know, I know, it’s not completely the same, just the royal aspect. I’ll talk to her, though.”
“Good.” Riri smiled again.
~~
“Y/N Y/LN is here,” The Griot alerted Shuri.
She quirked an eyebrow and upon hearing the doors part, and turned around to watch you enter her premises.
“Hey, figured I’d pop on you next,” You said with a smile.
Shuri matched your expression. “It’s only fair, right?”
You tried not to stare too hard. She was looking scrumptious—no cannibalism. And she wanted you. Or so Riri said.
“Did you have dinner yet?” You asked, ending the comfortable silence.
“No. I’m not really hungry yet. Why?” She folded her arms, studying you. “You must be hungry.”
“I am.” She didn’t know you were referring to her, though.
She laughed. “You can leave with me. My chef usually starts cooking around this time.” You watched her hungrily as she had The Griot clear the lab before you two left.
“So how are you?” She asked as you walked the home area of the palace.
“Besides hungry? Good. And enlightened. Very enlightened.” Your eyes trailed her tall frame. She motioned for you to hurry up and continue. “I just learned some interesting information. I need to hear it from the horse’s mouth first.”
Shuri looked confused. “Are you talking about me?” Her confusion grew as you laughed. She playfully bumped into you. “Weirdo.”
You let her walk ahead of you and smacked her ass.
She gasped.
“That’s what you get,” You replied.
“Oh, yeah?” She lifted you over her shoulder.
You squealed at first and was about to command her to put you down until you thought better of it. “Is this my payback? Thanks for the lift.”
She dropped you on the couch in one of the rooms that contained floor to ceiling windows. You glared at her. “Hey!”
She chuckled at you and walked out the room. After a bit, you adjusted yourself and got up, taking in the gorgeous view.
“What enlightened you?”
Shuri suppressed her amusement as you jumped up at the sound of her voice.
“You know I hate when you do that,” You complained. Although you enjoyed how she’d looked in the long-sleeved jumpsuit, she looked just as good in her sweats and T-shirt. And she smelled so fresh and clean as she sat next to you.
You suddenly were feeling a little shy. Kind of like when you first talked to each other. Finding someone else attractive made it easier to engage with her. However, with the bust of the Nakia crush and the discovery of Shuri’s crush on you, she was the only person you found desirable now.
“Maybe you should pay better attention to your surroundings,” she suggested.
You shoved her arm without force, amusing her. “Do you want me to answer your question or not?”
“Sheesh…go on.”
“I saw Nakia today.”
You saw Shuri’s expression jump into a forced blank one. “Oh.”
“Mhm. I asked her out.”
“And?”
“It was a no-go.”
Shuri nodded knowingly.
“You were right,” You said, laughing some. “She didn’t want me.”
Shuri looked at you.
“I should have listened,” You continued.
“It’s her loss.”
You arched a brow. “Is it now? How so?”
She smirked. “You’re just fishing for compliments.”
“Compliments from you.”
You caught her off guard there.
She played with her hands, her legs opening and closing back and forth, the movement, making your legs press next to each other. She cracked a smile. “Y/N, if she can’t see that you’re special, then that’s on her.”
“Awww, Shuri.”
“Let me check on the food.” She started to get up, but you stopped her, touching the soft skin of her toned arm. She didn’t protest.
“Can I ask you something?” You asked close to her ear.
You noticed her cheeks flame through her melanated skin. She nodded and glanced at you.
“Did you tell Nakia to reject me?”
You were unfazed as Shuri acted like your question was absurd. “What?” She laughed.
“No, Y/N, I did not.”
“Okay. Did you tell her you like me?”
Silence swallowed the room. You and Shuri held a staring contest.
“Did she tell you?” She finally spoke.
You shook your head no. “Riri did.”
Shuri sighed. She didn’t care to be found out like this, though she supposed she understood Riri’s rationale.
“It’s not her fault. She said it wasn’t her place, but felt like I needed to know. And I agree.”
Shuri looked ahead of her.
“Shuri, you can be honest with me.”
“What exactly did Riri tell you?”
You filled her in as she listened attentively. “Yes, it’s true. I thought we had potential,  but then you showed interest in Nakia. So I didn’t think you wanted anything beyond a friendship with me.”
“Wait ’til you hear my side. I was actually intimidated.”
“Why?!”
“Shuri, you can’t act like you don’t know you intimidate people. Not with you being royalty and a genius and gorgeous…”
The smile on her face made you melt.
“You didn’t act intimidated at all,” She said.
“I need my Oscar.” You both laughed. “I really was. I did think Nakia was a looker ‘cause she clearly is, but it was also a distraction or a cover, you could say.”
“Are you sure it was a cover? It seemed legit to me.”
“Again, I need an Oscar. Or an Emmy.”
“You need Shuri,” she mumbled.
“What was that?” You tried not to smile.
She smirked and got up, but instead of stopping her, you chased her. You started tickling her and she grabbed your hands in one hand, holding them over your head. “Shuri,” you protested.
“Yes, say my name.”
That produced a jolt in your nether regions. It was like honey running through your bits. Adding to the sensation was the look in her eyes. She almost looked turned on.
“I think you want me to be rough with you.”
Shuri grinned when your eyes closed. Your orbs displayed again when she led you against the wall.
“Show off,” You jokingly scoffed.
“Watch what you say…I already like the look of you tied up.”
“So you’re a freak-freak?”
Shuri just chuckled, but it sounded sultry. This woman was going to be the death of your body. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” She glared at you lustfully. Shuri eyed you like she wanted to do very inappropriate and explicit things with you.
“Miss Udaku, the food is ready,” the chef announced.
You had to catch your breath as the Queen slowly released your hands.
“Thank you, Diallo. Come on, Y/N, let’s eat.”
Like nothing happened, she went into the kitchen and fixed a plate. You had to gather yourself for a moment. When you finally stepped into the kitchen, a smiling Shuri handed you a plate full of just the right amounts. Then she turned to make her own.
You headed to the table only for Shuri to stop you. Instead, she wanted to eat at the coffee table. The floor was already comfortable due to the majestic furry rug. Cushions for your bottoms were provided anyway. When this arrangement proved to be more intimate, you understood her decision.
For a while, you didn’t speak. The food was that good. It was doing a decent job of distracting you from your hormones.
“I don’t even need to ask if you like the food,” Shuri said laughingly, earning narrowed eyes from you.
“I do like it. It’s not like you cooked it.”
You found yourself running as Shuri seemed ready to pounce.
“Child! You are a child!” She called.
You ended up in her spacious, clean, captivating room. Take it in you could not  becauseshe launched you into her arms and tossed you on the bed.
“You think…you can…insult me…in my house?” She restrained your arms with one hand again, tickling you with the other.
Maybe it was the tension between you, your attraction to her (that was mutual), or the eagerness for her to stop tickling you (despite you enjoying her hands on you), but you  bit her neck.
Shuri froze and you smiled to yourself. It worked for she ended her ministrations.
“Did you just bite me?” She asked the obvious.
“And?”
She hid her face in your stomach but you’d caught her smile. She nuzzled your stomach before planting a lingering kiss on the middle of it. It felt natural. You refused to stop her and prayed she wouldn’t.
She did, though.
You frowned and she mockingly cooed at you. She laid a kiss on your neck. “You see? This is how you treat skin.” She smiled at your laughter.
“Show me again?”
Heat. That’s what you two were providing.
Shuri leaned down, crushing your lips together. You immediately wrapped your hands along her back and sides. She gently licked your lip and you parted your mouth for her. A moan escaped you as she sucked your tongue. The kiss was eager, messy, and pussy-dripping.
“I really like you, Shuri,” You said, caressing her nape.
She looked straight into your eyes. A hope glimmered in them. “Are you sure? ‘Cause I’m nothing like Nakia.”
You smiled, bringing her into another kiss. “I know. I don’t want you to be. I just want you.”
She reached into your neck now, nuzzling. “I’ve wished for this.”
You tugged on her curls and she gave you a kiss that had you drenching your undergarments. From this day forward, you were hers.

Lavender - Ch. 41

“Don’t rely so much on the reins,” you said, your front pressed to Joel’s back, hands on his waist. “Use your legs and weight to guide her…”
“Like squeezing?” Ellie asked, frowning.
“Kind of,” you said. “So if you want to go right, shift your weight right a bit and press your left leg into the horse. Use the reins, too, but you shouldn’t be pulling so much as just guiding her…”
Ellie nodded and you watched her body shift slightly, taking the horse around in a slow circle.
“Don’t forget to keep your legs turned inward,” you said. “It’s real easy to let your knees go out, it’s more comfortable, but you’ll have better control if you keep them turned in.”
“Right,” she said. “I think I got it?”
“You’re looking good,” you smiled. She smiled back, looking pleased.
“Never thought I’d be riding a fucking horse,” she said. “This is so cool…”
“Yeah, not something I ever thought I’d get to do again either,” you rested your cheek in the middle of Joel’s back. He was warm, comfortable. You wrapped your arms around him a little tighter.
“How’d you learn how to do it?” Ellie asked. “Was it in Texas with Joel?”
She drew out his name, teasing him. Joel scoffed a bit.
“She was a better rider than me when she came to Texas,” he said. “Showed me up once on a trail ride, thought I was gonna make myself look real good and it turns out she had to save my ass because I wasn’t payin’ close enough attention…”
“No way!” Ellie laughed. “What happened?”
“To be clear,” Joel said. “I’d have handled it just fine if I wasn’t tryin’ to pay attention to her because I didn’t know that she knew what she was doing…”
“Oh sure,” Ellie nodded, looking skeptical. “So what happened?”
“It was a trail that hadn’t been used yet that season,” he said. “Just out in the woods near a ranch that belonged to a friend of Tommy’s. I was leading, looking back to try to tell her somethin’ and my horse spotted a snake on the trail, freaked the fuck out, tried to throw me…”
“Oh shit!” Ellie’s brows went up. “So what’d you do?”
“Well I saw Joel lost the reins but the horse kept rearing back and trying to throw him,” you said. “So I took mine alongside his and got the reins and got it back down before he got tossed. It’s really not that crazy…”
“How’d you know how to do that?” She asked.
“I grew up riding,” you said. “My grandmother was friends with the people who lived next door and they raised horses. They were older, their grandkids lived an hour away and they didn’t get to see them much, so they liked having me around. I rode all the time from when I was about two until I left for college.”
“Well shit,” Ellie nodded. “I’ll just ride with you when things look bad.”
“You might want Joel more,” you shrugged. “I’ve never tried to ride and shoot at the same time and I’m not a great shot, anyway.”
“Good point,” she said. “Guess we’ll just all have to stick together then.”
“Crud,” you sighed. “Such a disappointment..”
Joel laughed once.
The three of you had been riding south for more than two days now and it had been almost too easy. You hadn’t seen a single raider or infected anywhere. It’s part of why it had taken you so long to put Ellie on a horse on her own. You didn’t trust the land around you to not suddenly swell with enemies and try to swallow her. With Joel, she’d be protected. With you, you could escape quickly. On her own was too dangerous.
But now, things felt more secure. You were so far from Jackson and any other sign of civilization that you knew there was almost no chance of infected. Raiders would be pretty useless out here, too - there was nothing to raid. You felt safe letting Ellie ride on her own for a bit.
“Should rest the horses soon,” Joel said. “Keep an eye out for a good place to stop for the night…”
Because the road had been easy, you’d made quick progress. Tommy had told you it would take a week to get there but you were on track to make it in just five days.
You certainly weren’t arguing. You had no idea what was waiting for you at the university. How long you’d be stuck there. Maybe there were researchers there who were far better trained than you - people who went to actual medical school instead of learning at the hands of a military doctor because there was no more medical school to go to. Maybe the Fireflies had found someone from the CDC or the NIH, someone whose job it had been to deal with infectious disease.
If that were the case, you had your notes. You could pass them off, talk it through with them and rest knowing you’d done what you could. You could go back to Jackson with Ellie and Joel and move into the house across the street from Tommy and Maria. You could take care of the people there as the world healed. You could have a life, be happy. Things that had felt out of reach for almost half your life now.
If the doctors there were like you - trained to keep people alive but not in how to develop new medications or cure anything new - then you’d have to stay. But only for a while. Joel and Ellie would go back to Jackson and that would be hard but you could figure it out. Being apart for a while would be OK if it meant that you got the world back. You would figure it out from there.
“OK but I want to use the rifle,” Ellie said as the three of you put some distance between yourselves and the horses to try to catch dinner. Joel sighed.
“Gonna treat it right?” He asked.
“Yes,” she rolled her eyes, exasperated. “I’ll be gentle, I’ll love it, act like I’m tryin’ to get it pregnant instead of shoot it…”
Joel glared at her but slung the gun off his shoulder and handed it to her.
“Hell yeah,” she smiled.
The three of you leaned against the remains an old, dilapidated wall looking out into a field. Ellie and Joel were looking out while you faced behind them.
“You’d do well to learn this too,” Joel said, looking at you.
“I just don’t like killing things,” you winced.
“You know meat is from dead shit, right?” Ellie said.
“Yes, thank you for your expertise my dear,” you shook your head and smiled a bit. “Maybe I’ll be vegetarian when we get back to Jackson…”
“Finally gettin’ to a place where I can grill you a steak and you’re gonna stop eating meat?” Joel shook his head. “Damn shame…”
“Got one,” Ellie said, lifting the rifle. You covered your ears and she shot.
“Good job,” Joel said, getting up as you uncovered your ears. “Go get it, we’ll dress it…”
“Should call it undressing it,” Ellie said, giving him the rifle back. “Undressing it from the inside even….”
“Good to know we can make her pull the guts out of the turkey at Thanksgiving,” you said, Joel offering you a hand up. You took it. “Give you a break from the job.”
“The fact that you’ll cut me open, pull out a bullet and stitch me up with no problem but gutting an animal is where you draw the line will always amaze me,” he shook his head a little.
“Wasn’t exactly thrilled to fish a bullet out of you either, for the record,” you leaned your head on his shoulder and you watched as Ellie walked back toward you, rabbit held high by its hind legs. “She’s a lot like you, you know.”
He sighed.
“Yeah,” he said, voice heavy. “Yeah, I know.”
You glanced up at him.
“I like it,” you said.
He scoffed a bit.
“Someone has to, I suppose.”
The three of you headed back toward the campsite, an outcropping in some rock that wasn’t overwhelmed by snow. You built a fire while Joel and Ellie dressed the rabbit and you got that oddly happy, domestic feeling in you as you did. Fuck, you hoped the Fireflies had good doctors. You didn’t want to say goodbye to this, not even for just a little while.
Ellie fell asleep early and you sat close to Joel, the fire glowing and warm. His arm was around you and you were tucked securely against his side.
“Really startin’ to hold a grudge against winter,” he said.
“Oh?” You glanced up at him.
“Real hard to get at any of your skin around all these layers,” he said. You laughed.
“Someone decided to pick a fight instead of taking advantage of a night we had doors,” you elbowed him lightly. “And working heat. And showers.”
“I know,” he groaned, dropping his head back against the rock. “I was a damn fool, should have fuckin’ known better…”
“Really should have,” you teased. He tugged you closer.
“Just make up for it when we get where we’re going,” you said. “I imagine there are plenty of doors at a Firefly facility…”
“Test out the sound proofing on all of ‘em…”
You could hear the smirk in his voice. You tugged the unzipped sleeping bag the two of you were using as a blanket up under your chin and tugged a glove off, lacing your fingers with his. He frowned.
“You’re gonna freeze.”
“You’re not the only one who wants a little more skin,” you said. He let your hand go, pulled off his glove, and returned it. His palm was warm, his calluses oddly comforting.
“Speaking of the night in Jackson,” you said after a few minutes of sitting, quiet, just holding onto each other. “What you said about Tommy…”
“I shouldn’t have said a damn thing,” he cut you off. “I was being an asshole, fallin’ into old habits with you, stupid shit where I try to get you to leave me because I’m scared and know I can’t leave you…”
“You know I was only ever with him because I didn’t have you, right?” You asked, sitting up enough to look him in the eye. “Anyone I was with after you was just… It feels wrong to say it but they were just a placeholder. They were someone to keep from hurting too much because I couldn’t have you.
“It’s not that I don’t care about Tommy,” you said. “I do. A lot. We were always friends, even before anything happened with you and me. But that’s all we were ever really meant to be.”
Joel nodded slowly, taking a deep breath.
“That’s how I feel about Tess, too,” he said. You frowned a little and he pulled you closer to him. “She was who I had because I was too afraid of getting hurt with you, I was who she had after her husband died. We were good friends - she was like family - but everything more… it never felt right.
“Baby,” he looked at you, his eyes deep and wide and sad. “I never said it properly but… I’m so sorry. I wasted so much time because I was so fuckin’ scared and it’s time we can never get back. I should’ve gotten my shit together years ago and instead I kept hurtin’ you and fucked up things for everyone. I never should have said what I did in Jackson…”
“I know how you are when you get scared,” you reached up and knotted your gloved fingers in his hair, pulling his forehead to your own. He closed his eyes for a moment. “I understand it. But Joel, the solution can’t be that you leave. Even if it’s just temporary, even If you say you’ll be waiting for me. We live in a scary world. Even once we get to Jackson and settle, I’m sure there’s going to be times where I’m in danger or Ellie is or you are and you can’t run from it every time. You just can’t, this won’t work if you do. We have to be a team.”
“I know, Baby,” he kissed you softly, deeply. “I know.”
***
Joel suggested that Ellie try riding her own horse most of the day as the three of you closed in on the university. It would be good for her to get the experience, just in case she needed to handle a horse on her own. That was the reason he gave for it.
But Joel also really fucking loved sitting on a horse with you wrapped around him. Your arms around his waist, your legs next to his, the warm press of your face against his back when you decided to lean against him. He loved having you close like that, could have drowned in it and died happy, never worried about breathing again.
Ellie, it seemed, took naturally to riding. Joel had enough experience himself - he’d picked up plenty you didn’t know about in the years before he made it to the QZ - but you were still the better rider and even you were impressed. She connected with the animal well, their bond intuitive and easy. But Ellie, for all her sharpened edges, seemed to do that with any living thing.
He doubted she was even aware of it. But she’d had you wrapped around her finger for years and by the time the three of you’d made it to Kansas City, Joel was already horrified of what would happen if she got hurt or killed. Now, he knew he couldn’t lose her. Losing either of you was not an option. He’d burn the world down first.
“Think they’ll let you keep sheep in the backyard at the house in Jackson?” Ellie asked.
“Dunno,” Joel said. “But I changed my mind on that, anyway.”
“Yeah?” Ellie asked. “What do you want to do then?”
“I figure since you’re goin’ to the moon and that one,” he jerked his head back at you. “Is apparently goin’ to Paris, I’m gonna be a singer.”
“No way!” She laughed.
“Yup,” he said. He was starting to see signs of the civilization ahead of him. “That was what I wanted to do when I was young. Think I should give it another go.”
“Were you any good?” She asked, pulling her horse up closer.
“Ask her,” he nodded back toward you again.
“He was really good,” you smiled a little. “Played some good guitar, too…”
“Oh man,” Ellie smiled and shook her head. “I don’t know if I buy it, Doc’s biased when it comes to you…”
“No I’m not!” You protested. “I’m a perfectly good judge of his talents and skills. He’s a good musician.”
“Prove it,” she said.
“Don’t exactly got a guitar on me, kid,” he replied.
“When we get back then,” she said. “That town has hot water, I bet someone there has a fucking guitar… I’m going to save the fuckin’ world, man, the least you can do is show off those skills.”
When you got closer to where he thought the university was, he had you and Ellie switch spots. You he could trust to run out of a situation while he provided cover for her. It was the best they could really hope for.
“I’ll do the talking when we find them,” you said as the university loomed. “Not that they know you, Joel, but hopefully they’ll be receptive toward me…”
Joel just gave you a stiff nod. His stomach was tight. There was something about this that made him uneasy. It wasn’t even the place, though it seemed oddly quiet for a Firefly base that wasn’t trying to hide from FEDRA.
It was that this was the end of the journey for the three of you. There was something ominous about that, anything that implied some kind of severance or separation.
Yes, it seemed that the three of you had decided to stay together after this point even though no one had expressly said that was the plan or why you were doing it that way. But there was uncertainty around this point. How long you would need to stay - and whether or not the Fireflies would fight to keep you if you didn’t agree. Just how long they’d need Ellie. Would they need her here for months, years, to keep drawing samples? He didn’t know how that worked, how any of that worked. What if one of you could go and the other couldn’t? Would you all stay here? Would he take you or her back to Jackson and return for he other one? What would be safest?
“What does it mean, ‘home of the big horns’?” Ellie frowned as you came upon the entrance to the campus.
“It’s the mascot,” Joel said. “For the football team and stuff. That one’s a kind of sheep.”
“Huh,” Ellie said. “Hey Doc, did your school have a mascot?”
“The Longhorns actually,” you said.
“Hook ‘em,” Joel smiled a little. You laughed.
“OK but like… not all of them are horn related, right?” Ellie frowned.
“No,” you laughed again. “That’s just a coincidence. In Texas there were also the Aggies and the Raiders… Oklahoma had the Sooners. Michigan had the Wolverines. Notre Dame was the Fighting Irish…”
“Sounds like a lot of bullshit for places people are supposed to be learning stuff,” Ellie said as you worked your way into the campus.
“Kinda was,” you said. “A lot of focus on the stuff that brought in money, which was usually sports…”
“And plenty of people who went to college weren’t focused on the learning part,” Joel said. “Too busy partyin’ or tryin’ to find themselves to go to class.”
“I’m guessing that wasn’t Doc,” Ellie smirked a little.
“You would be correct,” you smiled. “I was a nerd.”
“You’re still a nerd,” she teased.
“Darn right,” you said. Joel winked at you. You smiled.
Joel was starting to actively watch for signs of people but he didn’t see much - at least, no signs of people there now. Plenty of people from the past.
There was a loud almost squawking sound and Joel tensed for a moment before he located the noise. A troop of monkeys - half a dozen or so - crossing the campus one right after the other.
“Holy shit,” Ellie breathed. “The fuck are those?”
“Monkeys,” you frowned. “Whatever you do, do not try to get close to one, they will quite literally rip our face off…”
“OK but what the fuck are they doing here,” she said. “I thought they were from like… Africa and shit.”
“Probably leftover from any animal testing labs the school had,” you said. “Or maybe the Fireflies had them… If it was Fireflies, that’s a hell of an operation.”
“If it was Fireflies,” Joel asked, looking over at you. “Then why the fuck are they loose?”
“Still,” Ellie said, voice still awed. “Never thought I’d see a monkey.”
The three of you pressed on, Joel taking the lead until he found some guard posts that had clearly been abandoned.
“Maybe we should get our guns out,” Ellie said.
“Found the building at least,” you said, slipping off your horse. Joel and Ellie followed suit and you tied your horses off out front.
“It’s awful quiet here,” Joel said. “Not sure what the fuck happened but…”
You and Ellie both nodded.
He took the lead, putting Ellie in the middle and you at the back as he went for the doors, his gun drawn.
Inside the building, everything was in disarray. But it was a more recent disarray, something from within maybe the last few weeks, not disarray from when the world ended 20 years earlier.
“There were doctors here,” Ellie said, stopping at a cart and picking up a vial. She held it out for you and you took it, looking it over. Joel holstered his gun and started rifling through things while you looked over the remains of the equipment.
“Packing list,” Joel said, holding up a piece of paper. You came over and looked at it, frowning.
“This is thorough,” you said. “Not a quick jaunt kind of thing, this is a ‘the whole operation is relocating’ kind of list…”
“So, what, they’re all gone?” Ellie asked. “They just left?”
Her voice cracked a little and she cleared her throat to cover it.
There was a noise from inside the building, something clattering to the floor.
“Maybe not yet,” you said, folding the lacking list and tucking it in your pocket.
Joel pulled his gun back out and led the way up stairs, moving quietly. There was something behind a lab door, something banging around… He held his arm out to try to keep you back as he opened the door.
There was a loud screech and a monkey knocked something to the ground with a metallic clatter before it took off through a broken window.
“Maybe their research turned them into monkeys,” Ellie said. “The comic books finally came true…”
“Stranger things have happened,” you said, starting to look around the room and see what there was. Joel went to a cork board, one covered in pins and thread.
“Everything is pointing to Salt Lake City,” he frowned at the map.
“That’s got to be where they went then, right?” Ellie frowned, standing next to him and frowning up at the map. “How far is that?”
“A hike,” Joel frowned. “Few hundred miles. It’ll be easier with the horses but…”
“I just can’t figure out why they’d leave,” you said, coming over to look at the map, too. “Relocating a lab is a bitch. I had to help a professor with it once, years ago. He was setting up some clinical trial and the drug company wanted it on their property, not the school’s and there was so much to do…”
“Maybe the facilities there are better,” Joel shrugged.
“Yeah,” you sounded uncertain.
Joel heard something. He held a finger to his lips as he went to the window and peered out into  the courtyard below. A handful of men - all armed - were walking by. One laughed. His stomach clenched as he looked back to you and Ellie. Your eyes were wide. You’d heard it, too.
He went back for the two of you.
“The horses,” you said. “They’ll see the horses…”
“Out the back,” Joel said. “Stay close…”
He led the way. The men weren’t inside yet and Joel rushed you both out to the horses, scrambling to untie them from the tree he’d hitched them to. He was nearly done when Ellie grabbed his arm.
“Joel!” She shrieked, her eyes wide. He spun just in time to see a man swinging a wooden baseball bat at him. It cracked against the tree and the man scrambled for you next but Joel grabbed him, wrapping his arm around his neck and pulling back. The man struggled and strained - all dying men do. But Joel was stronger. More desperate. He cracked the man’s neck and he went limp before Joel dropped his body and he crumpled to the earth.
He turned to face both of you, Ellie’s gun pointed straight ahead, yours aimed at the ground - he’d have to get on Ellie about where to point your fucking gun if you weren’t about to shoot it - when Ellie’s already wide eyes got wider.
“Oh shit,” she breathed, looking at his stomach.
“Joel,” you reached for him and he looked down. The end of the bat was lodged inside him. He hadn’t felt it until he saw it. Then it was like a switch flipped. He went from feeling normal to the brutal, stabbing pain as his body was ripped open. He went to pull the wood out but your hands covered his.
“You have to leave it in,” you said quickly. “You’ll bleed out too quick if you pull it out…”
“Doc, the other guys,” Ellie looked at you.
“Take the horses…” Joel began, but you ignored him, looping an arm under his and dragging him to the horse. “No, that wasn’t the deal…”
“Joel I swear to God if you don’t get on this fucking horse I will lay down and die right here,” you snapped.
He didn’t have it in him to fight you. Instead, he got on, about to tell you to take Ellie but you were already talking to her.
“Get as far as you can as fast as you can,” you told her. “I’m going to lead them away. I’ll find you. Head for Jackson, but if you can’t make it, I’ll find you, OK? I’ll find you.”
“But…” Ellie began but you shook your head.
“You have to get him out of here, Ellie,” your voice was desperate. “You have to, you can do this…”
“No,” Joel managed as Ellie clambered onto the horse behind him.
“Hey!” The men shouted.
You smacked his horse and it took off. Joel looked behind him to see you all but leaping into the saddle of your own horse, pulling your gun and shooting at the oncoming group. He saw you ride away, gun held out, as Ellie pressed the horse on.
He wasn’t sure how long he’d been riding. His whole body hurt, the pain radiating out from the stab wound at his stomach. He was fighting to obey your order - to leave the weapon lodged inside him until he was in a position that he wouldn’t bleed out but it hurt. It hurt so fucking bad, the harsh, sharp wood ripping him with every sway of the horse and every breath.
“Joel?” Ellie’s voice sounded so far away.
You were so far away. Fuck, he should have stopped you from leaving. Who the hell knew where you were now? You should have stayed with Ellie, should have left him behind while the two of you made it back to Jackson. You could make it that far on your own, after the last week he was sure of it.
The world tilted.
“Joel!” Ellie’s words were louder but still far away. “Joel, we’re going to…”
He slipped then, off the horse and onto the ground. It was cold, hard. The sky was blue. You were far away. Too far away. Why were you so far away? What if you were hurt? What if they’d touched you? What if they took you, what if they killed you… You and Ellie should always be close. It was wrong that you weren’t there…
“Joel!” Ellie’s hands were on him. “Shit, you have to stay with me Joel, don’t leave me out here alone, please don’t leave me, please stay, please, I’m fucking begging you, I can’t do this alone. I can’t do this without you, I don’t know where I am or how to get to where we’re going, please Joel….”
The sky was blue. The ground was cold. Ellie was close. You were gone. He wasn’t sure what happened next.
***
You were a shit shot under the best of conditions. It was far worse when you were terrified and on horseback.
But you still tried.
The men were on foot at first and you had to go slow enough that they’d stick with you and not follow Joel and Ellie but they’d brought horses, too. And once they were on them, it was a whole other animal.
You pushed your horse more than you wanted to, trying to put distance between you and the men. You’d have no hope of fighting them off if they caught you. There were half a dozen of them. You couldn’t shoot them all, you’d never have a chance to hit them all before someone got to you. You could only out run them.
“Good girl,” you stroked your horse’s mane as she slowed to a trot. You couldn’t push her any harder, you could feel it. But you were pretty sure you’d lost them, anyway. “You did so good, we can take a break then we can track them down, OK?”
You slipped off her back and started looking for something nearby that you could use to get her water. Snow was limited here so you couldn’t just melt some, but you hoped you could find a stream or something to help her with.
Her breathing calmed and you found a river. She all but dove into it to drink and you held her reins, leaning against a tree, trying to stay calm.
You had to give your horse a chance to rest otherwise you’d never catch Joel and Ellie, not on foot. But you wanted to move now, wanted to run as fast as you could for them. Joel had been stabbed - the image of it burned into your brain, making your chest clench and stomach knot. But the location could have been worse, it might have missed his kidneys and intestines entirely. With any luck it did.
Not that you could count on luck.
“Hey there pretty girl.”
You jumped, drawing your gun and turning toward the voice. The man was leaning against a tree, not far from you, smiling. There was a knife in his hand. You held the gun out.
“Stay back,” you warned. “I don’t want to shoot you.”
“Do we kill her or take her with us?”
There was another voice, from behind you now, and you spun to face it.
Shit.
You were out numbered. You could try shooting them but that was a sure fire way to get yourself killed.
“Think we take her,” a third man now. Your heart pounded against your ribs. “Think James would be happy for the gift, she looks like his type…”
“Yeah, she’s not David’s,” someone laughed darkly.
“Please,” you said. You had to get to Joel, he was stabbed, he was bleeding, Ellie was all but on her own, you had to get to them you had to… “My friends, they’ll be looking for me…”
“So?” The man from behind you said.
“I don’t want to cause you trouble,” you said, backing up until you were pressed against your horse. “Just let me go on my way…”
“Sorry baby doll,” the men were pressing into you from all sides now. “We just can’t do that.”
One stepped forward and grabbed your gun and, in the instant before one of them started dragging you away, you’d never felt more terrified or more alone.
A/N: Eeeeeeeeeek! The trio is separated, Joel's stabbed, Doc's been taken. It's a whole thing. A whole big, exciting thing :)

hello tumblr, I have another silly korrasami ficlet for you, courtesy of a reply chain with the lovely @korrasamibottles about Korra being insatiable and Asami’s hands getting tired. brief spiciness ahoy btw
“Ow, fuck!” Asami hissed, dropping the wrench in her hand. It clattered loudly to the floor, nearly missing her foot. That would teach her to forego proper footwear on the factory floor again…
“You okay, boss?”
That was Chahna, one of the new assembly technicians Asami had hired. She was even younger than Asami, sharp-minded and mechanically skilled. Unfortunately, she also had a knack for making everyone else’s business into her own.
“Yes, Chahna, I’m okay. Saw this hubcap looking a little loose on my walkthrough and wanted to take care of it before I forgot.”
“It sounded like something hurt,” Chahna prattled. “Do you need to see a doctor or something?”
Asami tried to shake out her hand, but stopped when the pain, instead of quieting, radiated down toward her elbow.
“Maybe that’s a good idea. I was about to take lunch anyway— I’ll be right back.”
When Asami arrived at the clinic in the Dragon Flats neighborhood, she knew she would attract attention— she wasn’t exactly the usual clientele for the clinic in the humble working-class neighborhood— so she went around the back and rang the bell at the employee entrance.
A moment later, a familiar face appeared at the door.
“Oh, hello, Asami!”
“Hi Kya. Can you look at something really quick?”
“You know you’re dating a healer, right?” Kya asked.
“Yeah, but… you know, I didn’t want to bother her.”
***
Asami sat on the makeshift exam table while Kya examined her hand and forearm. Now that Asami looked at it, her right wrist did look a little swollen compared to the other one.
“My guess is a repetitive stress injury,” Kya said as she pulled some water from a skin and began to bend it around Asami’s hand. The cool blue energy felt immediately soothing. “Usually associated with doing the same movement too many times in a row. Have you picked up any new hobbies?”
“No,” Asami answered cautiously. “It’s been way too busy for that.”
“Interesting that it’s only the one hand,” Kya muttered. Suddenly, the flowing water stopped in place around Asami’s arm.
“How’s Korra doing?”
Oh spirits.
“Great,” Asami said too quickly. “She’s doing great, we’re… we’re great!”
“Mm-hm.” Kya had the faintest hint of a smirk on her face. “Have you gotten to spend much time together lately?”
“Well, no,” Asami said. “She’s been so busy with the spirit portals, we barely got to see each other at all until… last weekend.”
“Uh-huh.” Kya’s grin was now across her entire face. “I think I understand what’s happened here.”
Korra was starfished across the bed, sweaty and trembling, her hair a mess and her eyes watery with the onslaught of pleasure. Asami’d had her in several positions throughout the evening but this was definitely a favorite. They could kiss like this, and look into each other’s eyes. One hand held Korra’s wrists tight over her head while the other worked furiously between her thighs.
“Fuck, oh, fuck, Asami, I’m—ahh!“ Korra’s back arched as she came apart on Asami’s fingers with a wordless, shuddering cry. Asami stroked her through the aftershocks, until she felt the strong body beneath hers stop fluttering with the remnants of orgasm.
Asami had to catch her breath too.
“How many was that?” she asked, giggling and kissing Korra’s cheek.
Korra clearly had to think for a moment.
“I think maybe… eight?” Her pupils were blown wide and she smiled dreamily up at Asami.
“That’s pretty impressive,” Asami said, shaking out her right hand, which had first started to feel tired and was now solidly in “aching” territory, not that she’d ever admit it. Korra took her hand, kissed over each knuckle, then laid it once more on the patch of curls at the junction of her hips.
“Want to make it nine?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Asami said, wishing it came out more convincing. In hindsight, maybe it hadn’t been the best idea to celebrate their first date night in weeks by testing just how long exactly Korra could go, but she’d never expected quite that level of stamina…
“Okay, hon, whatever you say.” Kya gave the water one last burst of charge. “We’ve all been there, you know.”
“Really?” Asami couldn’t help it, the question was already out of her mouth.
“Oh yeah,” Kya chuckled. “Women can be insatiable, I get it.”
Asami felt her cheeks burn even more than they already had been.
“You know you have other options, right? It doesn’t have to be, well, all in the wrists. Maybe check out one of those little shops on 16th and see if anything catches your fancy. In the meantime, let’s get you a brace.”
***
“Hi love,” Asami said, pulling Korra into a one-armed hug while she balanced her bag of takeout in the other. “How was your day?”
“Pretty good,” Korra said. “Hey, did you see the evening Republic Post?”
“No,” Asami said. She had little use for the speculation and gossip of a trashy tabloid.
“It was you again,” Korra explained. “They might have gotten you on your lunch break. You had something on your hand, apparently people were saying they thought you’d been in an accident or something.”
“Interesting,” Asami said, feigning nonchalance as she set down her bags.
Korra giggled.
“And you’ll never believe the store some ‘eyewitness’ said they saw you walking out of.”
Asami blanched. Dinner might have to wait.

me when i actually feel motivated to write again😃😃BUT YEAAAAH HERES SOME MORE SIN FOR YOU GUYS YOURE WELCOME!!
Era: 1964
-
You and John were at the opening for his new book “In His Own Write”, you were over the moon excited for him, but, problem was, he was hardly paying attention to you. He was laughing it up with Paul and whoever else was there with him, George obviously noticed something was up when he tapped you on your arm, which made you jump.
“Hey, y/n, you doing alright?” He asked, genuine concern painted on his face. You couldn’t help but feel gratitude that you had someone like George in your life, he was a great friend and always knew how to comfort you, even when John didn’t.
“Oh, yeah. I’m fine, I guess I just feel quite bare sitting here with no one to talk to.” You said, turning to look at John, who wouldn’t even bother to look and see if you’re even still here.
“Well, I’m here, and so is Pattie, if you wanna talk and come over to us.” He offered, Pattie giving you a very warm smile and hand shake. Pattie’s beauty always baffled you, you have never seen somebody so naturally gorgeous as her, it made you feel quite insecure, really. But you obviously knew that wasn’t on her, might be more on John, actually, he’d always talk about blonde bombshells like Bridget Bardot or very dark feminine women like Sophia Loren, it always made you feel less than.
“Goodness, y/n, you look absolutely marvelous! He doesn’t know what he’s missing, I can tell you that for sure.” Pattie said, you decided to wear your favorite black, lace dress with a black shaw to match, you did feel iffy about knowing how tight it was, but you couldn’t help but feel pretty, that on top of the beautiful sparkling, white, necklace you had on as well John had bought you for your second wedding anniversary gift. If only he actually would pay attention to you, it’d be nice.
“I just don’t understand why he’s not even acknowledging me, as soon as we got here he went right over to Paul, letting go of my hand in an instant.” You said, trying not to let this ruin your night. You understood that it was ‘his’ night per say, but you at least deserved some sort of acknowledgment, right?
“Oh, y/n, I know just the trick. This worked perfectly the last time I did it with an ex of mine, just simply, do the same. Enjoy your night and don’t even bother with him, this is your night just as much as his.” Pattie said cheerfully, she always was the one to give the best pep talks. And just that you did, spending the rest of the party talking and hanging out with George and Pattie, and occasionally Ringo and Maureen.
And then, the after party came along, it had to have been around 12:00 or more in the morning, but nobody was letting up. You and Pattie decided to have a few drinks and start dancing to, surprisingly, your husbands music. “Twist and Shout” started to blare and you and Pattie started to do exactly that, dancing the night away. George and Pattie were dancing together gleefully and getting you involved whenever they could. That was, until Paul walked over to you, him and Jane were on a “break” so he said. So he all by himself, explains why he was with John and Brian basically the whole night.
“Hey, love! Where have you been? Me and John have been looking everywhere for you!” He said, practically yelling over the loud music.
“Oh, I was with George and Pattie, what’s wrong?” You said, John coming up behind Paul shortly after.
“Nothin-“ Paul was quickly shut down by John as he pulled you into a tight embrace.
“Fuck, love, you had me so worried, I thought you left without me, come on, we’re going home.” He said, as you basically pushed through a crowd of people and got into your car.
“John, why are we leaving? What is wrong?” You asked, John didn’t say a word. One hand was on the wheel, the other was clutched to your thigh. You had absolutely no idea what his deal was.
“John, if I made you mad I’m sorry but it just felt like you weren’t paying att-“
“As soon as we get inside that house I want you upstairs and ready for me. I couldn’t be around you because of that fucking dress, I wouldn’t be able to control myself. Go on, now.” He demanded. You made sure as soon as he parked into the driveway you ran inside the house and went into your shared bedroom, quickly taking off your shaw and dress, along with your Mary Jane heels. You then made your way to your white, satin bed and slowly got underneath the sheets, waiting for him. Your heart race increased in anticipation as you heard him up the stairs, and heard the bedroom door open. And there stood John, his blazer gone to god knows where and his white button up unbuttoned. You couldn’t have asked for a better sight, if you’re gonna be honest, this is probably the best way to be repaid after being ignored the entire night.
“Come on, now, don’t start hiding from me.” He said as he quickly ripped the covers off your body, being completely exposed.
“There’s my pretty girl.” He cooed, making you blush. He was always a sweetheart when he wanted to be.
“John, I-“ you began to speak, but your mouth shut out of complete embarrassment. You were extremely nervous when it came to asking for what you want in bed.
“Hm? What was that, doll? You want something? What do you want, hm?” He teased, his fingers caressing your thighs, you knew you had to just let it out, but it was so hard for you and never understood why.
“I-um, I want you to turn me around this time.” You whispered, John gave a devious grin and took no time flipping you over, getting you on your hands and knees.
“Like this, birdie? You want me to be a little rough with you, dolly? Huh?” He said as he gave a harsh slap to your ass, making you gasp and jump in surprise. John giggled darkly at your reaction and began to un-do his pants, until he was completely naked.
“I’ve thought about you like this, y/n. You being all obedient for me, I love it. You’re such a good girl for me, a fucking dirty girl too.” He was such a good dirty talker, it made you begin to whimper and try to get any kind of friction you could get. John started to get the memo and didn’t even spend time to get you prepared by any sort of foreplay and just began to thrust himself inside you, not giving no time to adjust.
“AH, John!” You screamed as he pounded into you, his hand immediately coming to yank at your hair.
“Fuck, you’re so good for me, cunts so fucking tight for me.” He grunted, his voice deeper then ever. It turned you on like never before, how just an hour ago you were being completely neglected by him and now, here you are, getting pounded into the mattress by your husband. You’d be lying if you said it wasn’t worth it.
“J-john, w-wait! Slow down!” You cried out, John immediately stopped and pulled out.
“What, are you okay? Did I hurt you?” He panted, you shook your head and turned to lay on your back.
“I guess I just missed seeing your face.” You said, out of breath and voice strained from moaning and yelling.
“Ahh, atta girl.” He replied as he pulled you into a deep, passionate kiss as he thrusts back into, slower this time, just in case.
“You’re so beautiful, y/n, can’t imagine life without you.” He praised, as he kissed your face and neck, you smiled as you sighed happily, but not before turning into soft moans as he began to slowly pick up his pace.
“John, f-faster, I want to go faster, please.” You moaned out as John began to go harder, the obscene noises coming from your core filling the room.
“I love the sounds you make, christ, all fucking mine.” He groans, going as fast as he can at this point. Sweat is beginning to form on his forehead and body, same with you, as you continued to moan and cry out for him.
“John, I-I-“ you screamed out as you came all over him without warning, John just gave you a heartfelt smile and kissed your forehead.
“Fuck, I’m so close, I’m gonna fucking cum.” He moans out, you felt so overstimulated but you just couldn’t complain as long as you were making him feel good.
After about two more thrusts, he comes inside of you with a loud groan. He pulls out slowly and goes to grab towels for you to clean you up.
“There you are.” He chuckles as puts the towels in the wash and comes back to lay down with you as you slowly return to reality.
“John, I love you. But, do you promise you love me just as much as I love you?” You whisper, John kisses your lips and head in response.
“Y/n, I can promise you I have never loved anyone as much as I love you, it’ll stay that away. I can promise you that. I love you.” He assures, that was all you needed to drift you off into a deep, loving sleep.

A Favor pt. 4
Part 3
“I still can NOT! Believe you asked him on a date” Mina says clapping her hands together, “It’s not a date” I say for maybe the 5th time today “Y/N, it is a date! He said so!” Jihyo is obviously on her side “He said, set the date, not it’s a date” I repeat but not sure if it was more for me than for them.
I lied to my friends about how I met Christopher and how we’re having a date dinner tonight. I had to go with a simple: we met at district 9, chitchat ever once a night and one thing led to recommending good restaurants and I mentioned one we both wanted to go and set a date to it…
“If he wasn’t interested, he wouldn’t have said something like that” Jihyo arches her eyebrows and me. I try not to laugh at her meme face, but I fail. “He was just being nice” I try one more time to make them stop “BUT! He said, ‘I’ll take you!’” Mina screams irritated at my denial. I roll my eyes and smile ignoring her, I later I realize I’m still smiling “Yeah, I, guess it is a date” I whisper hoping they don’t hear me, but I know they do. The 3 of us giggled as if we were 17 again and we just said hi to our crush passing by the hallway and he said hi back.
I still wasn't sure if i was nervous excited or nervous scared of what can happen tonight, was this even a good idea? I wish I wasn’t this excited over dinner with someone, but it’s been years I went out a date and Chris is such a mystery, but again, it’s just a favor he’s paying back I am reading all this as something it’s not…
“Soooo, what are you going to wear?” Mina’s voice makes me stop overthinking, I blink twice and come back to earth, “I was thinking of.” I’m about to show them the outfit, but Jihyo stops me “No.” she says firm and I look at her confused “You are not wearing a cute blouse with your jeans” she crosses her arms and I look at her surprised “I, I was not going to.” I lie to her and turn to my closet again. How the hell did she know?
I desperately look through my clothes for a second option and almost at the end of the rack, I see 2 nice dresses: a purple sundress with puffy sleeves and a navy-blue dress to the neck with long sleeves. I show both and they choose the blue one. “Isn’t it too much?” I take the piece to the mirror and try to imagine myself in it “You should do sexy tonight, not cute” Jihyo says, and Mina agrees “Leave the purple one for a day date, and besides, you do look amazing in blue” Mina tells me and I half smile “Okay, fine, I’ll go shower” I inform them and leave the room.
After I shower and change to something for now while I do my hair and makeup, I go back to my room and see Mina and Jihyo on their phones and internally laugh remembering Felix’s phone from the other night.
I walk to my vanity desk and start my makeup, simple, nude palette. “You should put on a red lipstick, that would be very, very hot” Jihyo suggests and laughs, I roll my eyes and I shake my head “Nah, I, will go with brown tonight, I can do red lipstick another time” I tell her, and she sees me through the mirror and tries not to do a frown but doesn’t say anything else.
I straighten my hair a little and go back to the bathroom to change to the dress, when I go back to the room I spin in the dress “Yeah, I like how I look” I tell them, and both of my best friends smile at me “You look great!” Mina compliments me and I fake a blush, I walk to the closet again and I look for shoes, black heals or brown flats “Heals” Jihyo says behind me, and I laugh again, “I knew you would say that.” I tell her.
I arrive at the address Chris texted and the uber left me in front of one of the 3-star Michelin restaurants there is in the world “God’s Menu”, I recheck the address on maps and the location was the same, as I walk to the entrance my heart starts to skip a beat and my hands start to sweat. Is this a joke?
A beautiful young hostess smiles and welcomes me “Can I have the last name for the reservation?” she asks while she pulls out a tablet “Oh, um, it’s under, um, BangChan? He told me to give you that name?” I pass on what he told me to say at the door, but it sounds more like a question. She looks at me surprised and clears her throat “I see, yes, follow me please” She leads me in the beautiful place, all so brown, and gold, so luxurious I felt even the air in here smells expensive.
“I, sorry to ask, but, is it a business diner?” she whispers and I shake my head “Not that I know of” I laugh a little to it and she nods trying to hide a smile, we do a right turn and as I’m looking around being distracted by all the details in the celling, she suddenly stops and I accidently bump into her “I’m so sorry” I apologize and she laughs “Don’t worry, it happens more than you think” we both smile at each other and then she points to the booth beside her and when I turn, Christopher is already sitting there with a drink in his hand, he’s looking at me with a smirk. “Hope you have a great night” she again whispers and this time she gives me a different smile, a soft smile. I see her go and I turn to Christopher “Hi” I wave at him and stand there not actually knowing where to sit.
Next to him? The other side of the booth? Am I going to slide all the way?
“You look gorgeous babygirl” he compliments me so daringly and I forgot to breath for a moment “Thank you” I feel my cheeks hurt from the blushing, he scoots more into the booth and with his head he points to the new spot he made. I swallow hard and sit next to him. “When you said ‘great place’ I thought it would be a pizza place like dominos or something” I joke and he smirks “I can take you to dominos next time” he shrugs, I don’t answer to that, but I feel my stomach flip inside me “This place is, just so, amazing, I thought it was hard to have a reservation here in with days” I tell him “It is, but the owner is a friend of mine” he says so nonchalant about it, I don’t speak and just stare at him, so casually, handsome, is face features are so drop dead gorgeous, his black suite looking expensive…
“Are you allergic to anything?” he asks taking a sip to his drink and hiding a smirk, I look away and felt embarrassed, he knows I was staring… “Um, yeah, shrimp? Seafood actually, it gives me like a rash and closes my throat” I explain, and he looks at me a little surprised “and my eyes get puff so that also looks ugly” I point to my eyes, and he chuckles “Got it, anything to drink?” He asks “lemon juice with whiskey” I answer and he nods, he does a sign in the air to call a waiter “Bring her a sour whiskey and today’s special make sure there’s no seafood related” he orders and the waiter agrees and leaves. Again, I feel my stomach all weird and I really don’t want to feel how special he is making me feel.
There’s a moment of silents between us and I wonder if he feels it as uncomfortable as I do, but his facial expression is so hard to read “So Bang Chan? Is that your last name?” I ask, he straightens up from his position and clears his throat “It’s my business name” he clears out “Oh, and Christopher is for friends?” I chuckle “Like Hannah Montana?” I joke and as soon as I say it I regret it, I am about to apologize for doing such a comment but before I can say I’m sorry, he laughs as if I said the funniest thing in the world “Yeah, you can say I have the best of both worlds” he joins a punch line and I bite my lips trying to avoid my smile.
The waiter comes back with my drink and an entrance soup. I thank him and he gives me a small nod, he leaves us alone again, Chris is looking at me as waiting for me to try the soup first, I take the spoon with soup and bring it to my mouth. “Oh wow, this is so amazing!” I sound too excited about it, but I can’t contain the happiness of the taste. He smirks and starts to eat too. There is another moment of silences and I try to think of something to talk about, I take a sip of my drink and remember the other night and see he still has painted nails “Does the whole ‘drug in the glass’ happens often?” I want to know, and he nods “yeah, we are kinda used to it” he keeps it simple “We? As in Lee Know, Felix? The other boys with you?” “Yes” I nod and talk again “Your accent, it sounds, not from here, it’s like a.” “Australian, it’s an Australian accent” he interrupts me “Oh! Yeah, it is, Felix too, right?” he nods, and I feel conscious of how many questions I made “Sorry, I’m doing too many questions” I explain and breath in and start to eat again “You’re fine” he says sincerely “Sorry, I just get nervous when there’s silence, I feel like I have to fill it up with my talking” I nervously laugh “You don’t need to apologize, it’s fine” he says again and I am about to say sorry again but he gives me a “don’t say it” expression which makes me shiver and the word gets stuck in my throat. His face expression relaxes, and he continues to eat which I do the same “You, have a job?” he asks after a while and I nod “Yeah, I’m an elementary teacher, at the Northwood school, the one that’s on top of the hill?” I question the last part waiting for him to answer if he knew which one I was talking about, and nods “Is it a hard job?” he asks, and I smile “Oh let me tell you about it…”
Through the night, I start to tell stories of my kids and how crazy it is to be an elementary teacher, I also tell him all the funny moments I’ve had and at first, I really felt I should shut up at one point, but Chris would give me a look as if he was very interested or as if I was telling the most amazing story ever and made it feel like if it was okay for me to keep talking. Every now in then he would also share a story of his elementary days or crack a joke between my stories making all uncomfortable feeling go away.
At the end of dinner, after have to most amazing dessert Christopher lets out a heavy breath “I’ve got to say, you are funnier than I thought” he says with a half-smile, I roll my eyes hiding mine “Thanks, sounded offensive but thanks” I joke with him and he smirks. He’s about to say something back at me but the sound of a ringtone stops him. He talks a very old phone from his pocket and looks at the screen. I look at the phone with a frown, but also let out a chuckle, he looks at me confused “What’s up with a modern phone? You and Felix seem to not like smartphones” I comment and laugh about it, Chris looks down and the phone and back at me “It gives me what I actually just needed it for” he kinda sound serious almost annoyed about my comment “Sorry, I didn’t mean anything abo.” I feel bad and want to apologize about it but he interrupts me “I, didn’t mean it like that, I, just don’t need a fancy phone” he says in a better tone but it stills make me feel bad, I nod understanding and he still seems uneasy “I’m not into social media or have time for texting with friends” he comments in a sad tone now. I try to think of what to say instead of sorry, “Oh, that’s sad, and here I was thinking we were going to be text buddies after this” I tease him and give him my best “it’s okay” smile. He looks at me with an expression I try to read.
Was it funny? Did he hate the joke? Did he even get the joke?
“In that case, I’ll have to change it” he wiggles the old phone in the air and takes me off guard, I feel a chill breeze all of a sudden and my back is shivers. I really try stop myself from showing any emotion on my face but I feel a stupid smile on my face trying creep. I think of something to say back but I don’t know what to respond. I look away and distract myself with whatever I see first, I hear him chuckle but still don’t say anything else. I take a deep breath and look at my watch “I, should probably get going before it's late, then the Ubers get really expensive and I.” “I’ll take you home” he interrupts “Oh, I didn’t mean it to sound like.” I panic and try to explain myself but he ignores me “I’ll drive you home, getting in a car this late isn’t a good idea.” He again interrupts me and takes the last sip of his drink. I sit there looking at him getting up and out the booth, how can he just be so fine and cool about it… “. Let’s go baby girl” he sounds like he’s ordering me which I instantly react to it by getting up. He guides his hand to the bottom of my back and gives me a little push to start walking. I again feel a shiver down my back and my heart in my ears, I am so glad he can’t see how my face is probably damn red right now, I take small breath to stop my heart race and hope he can’t sense my nervousness.
We walk to the entrance of the place and a black Mercedes probably car of the year pulls up, a valet steps out and gives the keys to Chris, the valet guy is about to open the passenger door from me but Chris stops “I’ll take it from here” he again speaks in a demanding order in which the guy steps aways “Yes sir, have a great night” he says goodbye and leaves. Chris opens the door of the car and also closes it after. I take the chance to let out the air in my lungs and wait for him to get to the driver’s seat. The drive to my department was silent, not even music playing to make it feel not weird at this point. My need to vomit talk was making me go crazy. “Thank you!” I say out of the blue “. F-for dinner and the ride home” I look at him but he doesn’t seem to react about it “I know I talked a lot and sorry if I annoyed you, but.” “You didn’t at all, I enjoyed it” he interrupts and stops in front of a red light. He looks at me and just stays like that. The light makes his skin glow and I once again I look at his face, the scar, his lips, his nose, and into his eyes. The light turns green and he turns to face the road.
I then feel so unreal, the night, the air, this isn’t real, it’s so unreal, he’s unreal.
I stop overthinking as soon as I hear Chris get out of the car and walk to my side to open the door, I am about to say goodbye and thank him again but he speaks first “Let me take you out again.” I stand there a little confused “. But this time not as a favor…”
He just really knows how to take my breath away…

Distracted
“ Eddie, it’s time to go” you said as you entered his trailer. “Steve is waiting in the car” you pointed outside as he turned around towards you. His eyes traveled down your body, taking in what you were wearing, as his mouth opened slightly in surprise. You frowned internally. What was Joe doing? This wasn’t in the script. Eddie was supposed to be unbothered by your short, tight red dress. You had even joked about it with him earlier, saying how it points even further to how he’s clearly not straight. Maybe he was improvising, you thought, maybe the Duffers had told him to try this instead. There was definitely an explanation, that was certain, so you went with it. “Eddie?” you waved your hand trying to get his attention. He shook his head, as if waking from a dream. “y-yeah right”He cleared his throat as his eyes fell to your breast again for a second. You felt yourself blush, you knew he was in character, so what he was doing was only a play, but still, you couldn’t help but feel nervous as Joe stared at you like that. Like he was eating you with his eyes. You heard a loud noise from outside, as scripted, and you turned towards it with a shocked face. “What was that?” you whispered terrified. “Eddie please tell me it’s not what I think it is” you pleaded as you backed from the door to get closer to him. You peeked up at him, looking for reassurance and you saw him swallow nervously as he scanned your whole face. You kept looking at him as he glanced at your red-painted lips. What was he doing? He was supposed to say his line. “Eddie” you murmured trying to salvage the situation. He licked his lips “It’s impossible” he whispered “Steve avoided the main roads right?” he asked concerned. Another loud roar came from outside, making you jump as you gasped. You gripped his shirt, placing your hands on his chest. You felt him stiffen just as you did. You looked up and nodded at him to answer his question as tears formed in your eyes. “Oh god” you murmured hiding in his arms. You nuzzled against him, hugging him as your chest pushed against his and you looked up at him frightened. His eyes fell to your breasts again, this time staying there, as he bit his lip. He didn't look terrified at all, quite the opposite, he looked like he wanted to fuck you. Joe was a great actor, what was happening? You widened your eyes subtly at him, trying to signal him that he was supposed to say a line. His eyes came back up to yours, and your heart fluttered as you noticed the hunger in them. God, how much you wished it was actually him looking at you like that. He still didn’t say anything. There was total silence on set. There was no point in keeping this up. “Joe” you smiled shily “your line” you reminded him softly. He widened his eyes, realizing his mistake. “Oh, shit” he breathed out as if he had just awakened from a trance “I-I forgot” he smiled” I’m sorry” he apologized to the crew behind you. “LET’S START FROM THE TOP GUYS” matt yelled from behind the camera and you pulled away from Joe, already missing feeling that close to him, as his eyes never left you. Ross jogged towards you just as you did “hey Joe, try not to act so surprised “ he turned towards him “Eddie doesn’t care about what she's wearing alright?” he explained. Joe cleared his throat “oh, yeah sure” he scratched his head “no problem” he said moving his eyes from Ross down to the floor, avoiding yours. You frowned confused as you walked back behind the fake door. So they hadn’t told him to do that, maybe he had thought it would have been a good idea, you considered. Yeah, that was probably it.
“Heyy” you murmured awkwardly as you entered joe’s trailer. Your costume designer, Jenna, had convinced you to go talk to him after you had spent 30 minutes rambling about how weird Joe had been while the poor woman was just trying to get your wig and outfit off of you. So here you were, standing in his trailer like a statue, afraid to even move a finger. “Y/N” he muttered surprised as he turned towards you. You smiled blankly at him. What were you doing here? This was stupid. “Did you need something?”He asked Oh right, you needed to actually say something and not just show up here. “ uhhhh” you mumbled, scratching your neck nervously” no, not really, I just-“ did you really just come here unannounced without even thinking of what you were gonna say? Genius. Joe frowned, confused. God this was stupid. Ok, just say it. You’re here already. “Ok.” You exhaled ”I wanted to ask you why you were acting weird before” There was definitely a better way to put that. Joe’s eyes widened subtly, as he cleared his throat. “W-what do you mean, weird?” “Well you- you were acting strangely before when we were shooting y’know?” you tried to explain yourself better. He laughed awkwardly “Oh, yeah, I’m sorry I was just-” he paused and glimpsed at you before immediately looking away”I was distracted” “Oh” you said sympathetically, “Is there something on your mind?” you asked, walking closer to him “ you wanna talk about it?” He still wasn’t looking at you, his eyes seemed fixated on a cabinet right next to him”N-no, thank you. It’s stupid” he shrugged. “Are you sure? You can tell me anything you know.I won’t judge I promise.I want to help you” you said, placing your hand on his arm. His eyes finally found yours, and you could see so much tension in them, it was as if he was looking at you but his mind was still elsewhere. “Y/n, it’s not important “he said with a thin voice. “Joe, there’s obviously something troubling you. please let me help” you said placing your other hand on his opposite arm. He looked at you, actually, looked at you, and you felt a shiver run down your spine. His gaze penetrating you and sending a warm wave through your whole body. “C’mon, why were you distracted?” you said with a reassuring smile. Silence fell and suddenly all you could hear were the muffled noises from the crickets outside and became very aware of your hands touching him. You didn’t move, too afraid to mess something up. “Because of you” Your heart skipped a beat. What did he just say? “Huh?” He chuckled “You distracted me” he said, moving a lock of your hair behind your ear “That outfit you wore” he explained, stepping closer to you “I’m used to you being beautiful by now, but” he smiled “that dress” he bit his lip” it was just too much” Oh fuck. Your cheeks were burning, and your brain was buzzing from all the effort it was putting into trying to metabolize what he had just said. “W-what?”you muttered “I couldn’t concentrate because you‘re too hot y/n” You blinked. What!? “Joe” you whispered, having no idea what to say next.I mean what were you supposed to say?You think I’m hot? have you ever looked in the mirror?try concentrating with that looking back at you. “I-I don’t know what to say” you murmured He smirked “ you don’t have to say anything” “O-ok “ He got even closer to you, an inch now all that separated your two bodies. You could feel the heat emanating from him, and his cologne inebriating all your senses. “Can I kiss you?” Your mouth fell open. “U-U- yes” you murmured He smiled, both at your behavior and for genuine happiness, before placing his soft lips on yours. He wrapped his arms behind your back, pulling you closer to him, and you closed your eyes losing yourself in the kiss, as your arms came to rest on his shoulders. He tasted of mint with a hint of cigarettes and his arms around you felt like the safest of barriers. One of his hands started exploring your back, leaving a trail of tingles with its touch. He leaned away, and you gasped softly at the lack of contact. You opened your eyes and in front of you, there wasn't the same man you were talking to before. Yes, it was Joe, but the look on his face felt more like the one a predator would have, a hunter in front of a defenseless deer, lust was the only thing you could see in his eyes as they traveled up and down your body while he bit down a subtle smirk. You swallowed and looked up at him through your lashes "Is everything ok?" you murmured. He found your eyes, your heart stopping a moment. If you thought he was hot before, now, you couldn't even find the words to describe him. "More than ok" he grinned before crashing his lips with yours. This time the kiss was hungrier, his tongue immediately making its way into your mouth while he gripped your hair pushing you against him. His other hand found your ass as he forced you against the wall. "God you're so hot" he muttered as he left sloppy kisses on your neck. "That dress you wore" he groaned, thinking back at it as he continued kissing you. Your hand found his hair. "I just wanted to rip it off of you" his hand made its way underneath your skirt and you whimpered. "or even better" he whispered against your ear, as his hand played with the hem of your panties "keep it on as I fucked you" his fingers gently caressed your clothed pussy. You bit your lip. "Just roll it up" his fingers found the wet spot on your panties and he groaned "Move your panties aside" he murmured as he did exactly that, finding your clit "And fuck you until you screamed my name" he said as he pushed his fingers inside you. You moaned and he chuckled, resuming kissing your neck as he picked up his pace. "Fuck" you moaned as his fingers curled up inside you. He looked at you, a smug look printed on his face. "Joe" you whimpered pathetically as his fingers continued their dance. "Yes sweetheart?" he asked feigning cluelessness and you moaned even louder at the pet name. "god it feels so good" you whined. his lips twitched into a grin "I'm glad" he kissed your cheek gently "but now I need to know how this pretty pussy feels around my cock" he whispered against your ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down your spine. "Would that be ok?" he kissed your ear. "Y-yes please" you stuttered desperately. he chuckled as he removed his fingers from inside you, quickly undid his belt, and liberated his hard cock from his boxers. He took his wallet from one of the jeans' pockets and pulled a condom out of it. You  raised your eyebrows "You carry that around with you all the time?" He smiled "You never know when your hot colleague will come to your trailer and give you a chance to do what you've been dreaming about for months" You bit down a proud grin. Months? wow. "yes months" he whispered, reading your mind as he leaned down to kiss you again while putting the condom on. He put his hand on your waist as he positioned himself in between you with the other one. He didn't break the kiss as he slowly pushed himself into you. He hissed at the feeling and you couldn't help but moan. "Fuck y/n" he groaned "It's even better than I imagined" he smiled, starting to move in and out of you slowly You giggled softly before a wave of pleasure washed over you, making you moan. "Joe" you whimpered "that's right" he said, thrusting into you "say my name honey" "Joe" you obeyed, gripping his biceps as he sped up his pace. "bloody hell y/n, you're so tight" he groaned. "Joe please" you whimpered, already feeling close. "What baby?" "Harder" He looked at you cockily before doing as told. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as he started pounding into you mercilessly. "god yes- fuck-Joe" you muttered incoherently as he continued. "You're so pretty" He said kissing your neck. You could feel pressure building up in your belly. "I-I'm gonna cum" you said with a thin voice. "do sweetheart" he pecked your lips quickly " show me how beautiful you are when you cum" Those words were enough to send you over the edge. Millions of fireworks going off inside of you as you orgasmed, immediately followed by Joe, who came with a low groan, resembling your name. The only sound in the room was your heavy breathing. You looked at each other and as you locked eyes couldn't help but smile happily. "I'm sorry I distracted you" "I'm not sorry at all"

YOU DECIDED FOR US
Plot: Riley and Alessia have a messy history. Now that Alessia is back in the UK can they work out their issues?
Tumblr media
CHAPTER 1
Alessia and Riley had both grown up with a football glued to their feet, they had both gone into the youth teams together and competed with each other in many tournaments. There had always been some tension between the two, with a few kisses exchanged and a drunken night spent together when they were 17 just before Alessia left. Alessia had signed with UNC for her college years to develop her football further. Riley cut off contact during Alessia’s college years and had signed for Arsenal and had become close with Leah Williamson.
As soon as COVID hit Alessia went back to her family’s home in London, she continued training while her agent and brother Luca was talking to Manchester United about a potential contract. She saw an Instagram post from Riley of her in a park not too far from Alessia’s house having a kick, which was allowed with the COVID rules. Alessia watched the girl’s technique and it was flawless, she sent a message to the Arsenal player. ‘Hey Riley its Alessia, I saw you were at Gosche’s Paddock having a kick. I live near there. I was just wondering if you wanted to have a kick sometime?’ Riley was back at Leah’s having dinner when the message came through, she looked at it and showed Leah. “Oh shit, Alessia Russo. Maybe she wants to reconnect.” Leah wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. “Shut up.” Riley threw a roast potato at her Arsenal teammate. “We made out a few times years ago, we slept together once. Haven’t seen her in ages.” Riley responded and looked at the message again. ‘Yeah sure. I am going down tomorrow at 2. See you then.’ Riley glared at Leah who knew that Riley couldn’t resist the pull of a gorgeous blonde girl.
The following day Riley showed up at the field in London, she had set up some cones and put out a bunch of footballs ready for Alessia. Riley had also set up some water and gatorade for them while they trained. “Nice set up Riley.” The blonde striker walked over. “Kind of shocked that you pulled all this together for little old me.” Riley turned to the blonde, she looked a little older but still just as gorgeous as the last time she had seen her. “I guess I just had to impress the UNC superstar right?” Alessia laughed. The two went through some drills. It wasn’t an incredibly hot summer in London but the two were sweating after an hour. “Holy shit Riley this is mental.” Alessia sat down by the water and laid back, Riley smirked and grabbed a water, she poured it over her head and it trickled down her body. Alessia stared at her and watched as she took her shirt off. “Take a picture Russo. It’ll last longer.” She threw her Arsenal training shirt at the blonde striker. “Just amazed that you are still standing.” Alessia choked out. “Yeah sure.” She rolled her eyes and offered a hand to Alessia to help her up. Riley pulled her up and they stood starting into each other’s eyes, they were the same height, Riley caught herself and stepped back. “Lets keep going. No WSL side will sign you if you are lazy.” Alessia grabbed Riley’s hand. “Wait, how did you know I am going to join the WSL?”
Riley laughed at Alessia. “Oh please, it’s obvious to anyone with eyes. You have two fantastic seasons at UNC, then suddenly you are back and your brother was spotted at United a couple weeks ago?” Riley shrugged. “He kind of stands out.” Alessia watched Riley as she set up another drill. “What? Want me to get out some paper to show you how everyone worked it out? Come on Less you went to College it is obvious.” Riley walked back over to Alessia. “You will do great there, you would be better at Arsenal but I guess you don’t always make the best decisions now do you?” The question had a bit of venom that Riley regretted immediately. It had been three years since they had slept together, only for Alessia to tell Riley that she was leaving in a few weeks, meaning that Riley cut off contact and hid from the girl even at Lioness camps. Alessia looked down. “It was the best for me. For my football.” Riley didn’t respond, rather she walked over to their next drill.
Once their session was finished Riley began picking her things up to take to her car. “Riley, I am really sorry.” Riley shrugged. “Don’t be.” She said coldly. “Let me know if you want to do another session. Tomorrow is my recovery day so I won’t be around.” Riley couldn’t look at Alessia as she packed her car. Alessia followed Riley, “So you don’t want to talk about what happened between us?” Riley sighed and turned to face Alessia. “To be honest no. It was hard as shit to get over you Alessia but I did it, alone. All of that is just a memory for me, a great memory but I am different now. I just need to focus on myself and my football. Just like you did. I will see you around Less-Alessia.” Riley corrected herself and closed the boot of her car and drove off leaving the blonde watching her pull away. Alessia messaged Riley a few days later, wanting to meet up for another session. ‘Sorry, heading into club training. Maybe another time.’ There was minimal contact between the two, Alessia being the one to initiate contact. Riley couldn’t bring herself to let the girl back into her life, not like she used to be.
When it was announced that Alessia had signed with Manchester United, Riley had liked the instagram announcement but never reached out to the blonde and Alessia sat with the message box open unable to type out anything to the girl. After a couple celebratory drinks with Ella she messaged Lotte, ‘Hey, Ella and I are in London and we are having a little bit of a party to celebrate me signing and the COVID restrictions easing. Come over and bring some of the girls. If possible, can you bring Riley?’ Lotte showed up at Leah and Riley’s place telling them about the sneaky party. “Nah I am fine thanks.” Riley said not bothering to get off the couch. “Come on please, I will let you wear my vintage Arsenal jumper that you had your eye on.” Riley looked up at Lotte. “Fine.” She trudged upstairs to get changed, she threw on an oversized white t shirt, black skinny jeans, a pair of Nike Jordan’s and a backwards Nike cap. On the way Riley stayed quiet, nervous about seeing Alessia again after their last encounter and the fight.
Alessia and Ella were already tipsy when they arrived at the house. They both wrapped their arms around Lotte, Leah and Riley. Alessia’s hug lingered on Riley for an extra second before the girl pulled away and looked at the ground, Alessia smiled at the girl. “You liked the post.” She said matter of factly. “Can’t hate me that much.” She sipped her drink. “Just being polite, would be weird if someone who had known you for ten years didn’t like that you were coming to WSL wouldn’t it?” Riley moved past Alessia to grab a drink. Alessia watched Riley closely as they both got slightly more drunk with every passing minute. Riley stumbled out the back into the yard and sat down on a chair by the fire, she was happy no one else was out there so she could have some peace and quiet. It was quickly ruined by a drunk blonde who pulled up a chair next to Riley. “You hate me.” Alessia said and sipped her drink. “Oh shit, how did you work that out?” Riley smirked and leant back on the chair. “I know I fucked up but you also know I had to go.” Alessia put her hand on Riley’s leg. “Yeah I know. But I also know that you could have told me. I would have waited for you. I would have done fucking anything for you Alessia.” She looked into the blonde girl’s eyes. “I am sorry.” Alessia leant towards Riley. “Fuck your sorry.” Riley leant in and spoke against Alessia’s lips before standing up. She felt an empty can hit her back. “Fuck you Riley.” Alessia spat. “Oh princess you already did. Or don’t you remember?” Riley turned and walked quickly to Alessia so they were inches apart. “You think I didn’t miss you? I spent fucking ages trying to get over you. I wanted nothing more than you.” Alessia held back the tears. “You had me. I know for a fact you got with someone two weeks into being at UNC. Good to know two weeks is ages for you. I don’t want anything to do with you Alessia. You are fucking poison. Have fun at United, at least I will only have to put up with your shit for 180 minutes a year.” Riley finished her drink and stormed out of the house.
Alessia spent the rest of the night drinking more and began talking with Jill Roord, the rest of the night was a blur for Alessia until the next morning. She woke up next to a girl, part of her prayed it was Riley that they maybe had some heated hate sex. But that was quickly dashed when the girl rolled over and it was Jill not Riley. Alessia sat up and rubbed her face, her phone had messages from a few of the girls with pictures of her and Jill dancing together and kissing. She groaned and got up from the bed, she had to head back to Manchester that afternoon and knew she would be feeling a bit poorly the whole time. Jill rubbed her eyes and looked at Alessia. “Well good morning to you.” Alessia smiled at the girl. “Good morning. Sorry to be that girl but I have to leave back to Manchester today.” She grabbed a shirt from the ground and put it on. “Oh no don’t worry. We have a team meeting tonight, maybe next time you are in London you can let me know, we could catch up again.” Alessia didn’t respond, she was putting everything together in her head of who Jill plays for. “Um maybe.” Jill rolled her eyes and got up from the bed. “Okay guess not.” Jill got dressed in silence and left the house without anything else being said.
Ella and Alessia headed back to Manchester in the afternoon. “So you and Jill.” Ella smirked, Alessia sighed and put her sunglasses on. “I had a fight with Riley then the rest is a blur.” Ella examined Alessia’s face. “What ever happened between you two?” Alessia ran Ella through their stolen kisses at youth camp and everything leading up to their first time. “Oh Less.” Ella said sympathetically, Alessia having a few tears escape her eyes. “I never knew. I am so sorry. Are you okay?” Alessia just nodded and kept looking out the window of the moving train.
Riley showed up at the Arsenal team meeting with Leah, they were just chatting about the upcoming season. They sat towards the front of the theater as the rest of the team came in. Jill walked in giggling with one of the other players, Riley saw that she had a few hickeys on her neck and Riley laughed and whispered to Leah. “Seems like someone had fun at the party last night.” Leah cleared her throat knowing exactly what had happened, and who gave Jill the hickeys. Katie laughed loud and announced. “Oi Rood, nice neck! Russo sure as shit marked you up.” Riley clenched her jaw and looked down. The meeting and subsequent team dinner was wasted on Riley, she barely paid attention and disappeared without saying bye to any of the girls. She went for a walk after she got home, she walked all the way to the local football field and started running trying to keep her tears from falling.
They had not spoken since that night and there was no instance where they ran into each other either being in two different cities. The night before they were to play each other both were in London getting ready to play at the Emirates. At the Arsenal and Manchester United game Alessia warmed up with the team and continued glancing at her ex friend. Riley was phenomenal in the midfield, she had a game awareness that most 21 year olds would kill for. Riley had worked her ass off the whole game, there wasn’t much else that she could do when the rest of her team was playing below their best. Alessia watched on in amazement at how far the other members of the good peeps had come. Ella and Lotte were fantastic but Riley was on another level. It was clear how frustrated Riley was as the game got closer to the end, she was starting to make almost reckless tackles leading to Katie Zelem to get in her face, all Riley gave back was a smirk as she took her yellow card. Alessia collected the ball from Ella in the midfield and began heading towards goals, she could hear someone running up beside her but before she could process what had happened she was on her ass and a whistle was blown. Alessia looked up to see that Riley and Katie Zelem were face to face again both pushing each other. “Maybe if she could actually take a tackle and not fall over every second she’d be able to handle herself in this league.” Riley yelled at Katie, she was quickly pulled back by Leah to avoid anything else happening. “Get up Alessia, this is the big leagues now, not some backwater college competition.” Alessia was quick to her feet and storming over to Riley. “What is your issue? Still fucking hung up on me?” Alessia bit back at Riley who tried to lunge at her. The referee gave Riley a red. “Off you go, you need to go to the changerooms.” Riley clenched her jaw and grabbed her shin guards as she walked off the field.
Riley got back to the change rooms and sat in front of her locker. She kept her head down holding back the tears. She showered and got changed into her training gear. When the girl’s re-entered the changeroom they avoided Riley, even Leah couldn’t speak to Riley because of her actions. Riley was ripped through by her coach, she nodded knowing that she had gone too far. “I will meet you at home.” Riley said coldly to Leah as she walked out to her car. There was a local bar nearby that she would frequent when she had a bad game. She sat at a booth with her beer as she watched the people enjoy themselves.
Suddenly she saw a bunch of familiar faces, the Manchester United girls were celebrating their last game for the year as well as their win. Riley kept her head down as she got another drink, the United girls were loud and dancing together. Riley sat back in her booth finishing her fifth drink, she decided that them being so joyful was punishment for her behaviour. Alessia recognised the lone figure in the booth and felt the rage from the game rise in her. She stormed over and slammed her drink on the table. “You calmed down yet? Or are you here to start another fight?” Riley didn’t bother raising her head. “Alessia, honestly fuck off. Go call Jill, she probably misses you.” Alessia leant down and said into Riley’s ear. “Don’t pretend you aren’t jealous. We both know you wish it was you that I marked you up.” Riley stood face to face with Alessia. “Oh please. You would have imagined me that night. We have a fight and you need a fuck to get me out of your head.” Riley snapped back at Alessia. The blonde swallowed and looked at the brunette in front of her, Riley grabbed onto Alessia’s shirt, the striker praying that maybe she would kiss her. Instead Riley pushed Alessia back so she could leave, she stumbled past the Manchester United players and turned to Alessia. “It’s not hard to hook up with someone, Russo.” She turned and kissed Ella deeply, Riley pulled back and walked out of the bar towards a cab. Ella stood there stunned as Alessia raced out of the bar following Riley. She grabbed her wrist and turned her around. “You really are an asshole.” Alessia grabbed onto Riley’s shirt. “You are so frustrating! When I saw you in the park it all came back, all the feelings, all the good and the bad.” Alessia was close to tears as she spoke to Riley. “Alessia, I loved you. With everything I had and you still left.” Riley looked at Alessia, she had never been so vulnerable. Alessia pulled Riley against her and kissed her deeply, trying to put as much love as she could in the kiss, but Riley pulled back and almost fell over some bins. She began crying and rushed off to the waiting cab. Alessia stood there watching the cab pull away.
