listen i do not believe i'm able to communicate with chao in any way but when the unmistakable sound of raccons having a fistfight on the roof broke out and we looked at each other I firmly believe the shared thought was "you hear that too, right?"

Idk how to explain it, but seeing Voice of the Hunted going from fearing the Princess to wanting to help after seeing her really hits hard. He spent the whole Beast and most of The Den chapter desperately trying to prevent you from being eaten or killed by her
But when he sees what she's become, he feels sympathy for her. Despite his previous fear, he wants to help her instead

so do we think:
1) the gloreth vs beast battle never happened. it was only ever just baby gloreth and baby nimona in that one fire-filled moment. but the event got twisted and shifted into a grand mythology so the kingdom can justify their way of life
2) the battle did happen, years and years after that initial encounter, when gloreth is an adult. she fights the person used to be her childhood friend. she does not hesitate to run her sword through nimona's heart

"she was my best friend in the whole wide universe. i absolutely love her. oh. mmm. do i say things like that now? she's so ordinary, she's brilliant." currently going absolutely feral over donna noble, temp from chiswick, making the same choice over and over again, and holding the doctor to his mark over and over again. donna noble who, in the fires of pompeii, made that choice to sacrifice pompeii for the world --- who saw her world burn around her just as the doctor saw gallifrey burn around him
donna noble who made the doctor save just someone. who still chose to be kind and brave and human and loving even in her grief and heartbreak -- donna who crashes back into the doctor's life for a third time and shows him through her choices that this is the doctor. not a god, just someone ordinary. someone scared and flawed and fallible, but someone who ultimately tries anyway. someone who despite and in spite and because of the broken world still cares enough to try and save it
and the doctor. the doctor, who doesn't know who he really is anymore, who spent the past hundreds of years without donna -- the doctor, who said virtue is virtue in extremis. without witness and without reward -- he finally tells her, no.
no, this isn't who the doctor is. this is who donna turned the doctor into. this is who he is because of her. and it's finally time to make amends

One scene i did really like was Sylvia's interaction with Donna about Rose's gender.
She was awkward and got it wrong, but she wanted to get it right. It felt really, really real.
It reminded me a lot of talks I've had to have with my mum about a sibling's gender. And i just augh I hope the way Donna puts it has a positive effect on parents of trans kids who watch it.
