Warrior Cats headcanons
Firestar is a munchkin-maine coon mix (The maincoon did nothing for him, he’s just a fluffy cat with the physique of a baked bean). He is the itty-bittiest warrior in camp. The only grown cat he knows that’s smaller than him was Scourge.
Squilf got ALL the Firestar genes (it’s why her legs are so short) and Leafpool got all the Sandstorm genes, she’s all sleek and lanky standing next to Shortstack Squirrelflight Mgee. She’s still taller than Firestar mf is shrimp sized
When a leader is given their lives I imagine it’s such an excruciating process they receive a wound from it, and it results in a star shaped scar somewhere on their body. This is how Bluestar got her shoulder scar. Firestar’s is on his chest, stretching onto his throat, but he has too much neck fluff you can’t see it.
Medicine cats and leaders pupil’s are altered to resemble constellations, a mark of their bond with Starclan.
Sandstorm has some windclan in her from a forgotten/unknown affair from some point in her ancestry. Not enough to make much of a difference, but she is decently lankier than her clanmates.
Bluestar is absurdly big. Not the tallest cat around, but almost Tigerstar height. On that, Mothwing is taller than Tigerstar I think she deserves to be Huge. She is perfect and can do no wrong.
Cinderpelt has central heterochromia, her eyes are blue and orange in the middle. She also has ginger spots that resemble freckles :)
The reason Shadowclan eats frogs, lizards, etc, is because of their surplus of cats, from their endurance to sickness and weather. No time to be picky when you have like 70 cats to feed.

Since in my AU Crowfeather joins Thunderclan to be with Leafpool, Nightcloud and Crow aren't together so her mate will have been Mudclaw and she'll have one she-kit to replace Breezepelt. She'd be called Smokekit and later Smokefur (maybe change her name)
Breezepelt is still in this AU he's just Leaf x Crow kit now. And renamed Breezewing. He's born after the Three are just about ready to be warriors. He'll have a sister named Marigoldkit.
I think Breeze and even Jay will still be prickly cats but maybe more patient/more open to talking out their feelings than in cannon, since Leafpool would have raised them too.
Marigoldkit would be named Marigoldsky and would have been a golden tabby with white spots and paws and unusual blue eyes. Breezewing would be a dark grey-brown tabby with a white splash on his chest and to his shoulder, looking like a wing. Jayfeather would also have a white spot on his shoulder that would reach his arm a bit and it also would be wing shaped.
All of them except Lionblaze and Hollyleaf would be wiry like Crowfeather. Got a bit more of them Windclan genes.
They would have had a rough start, since not all cats liked the new clan switching rule and healers having mates n kits. Probably all have their loyalties questioned y'know how warriors are etc

Another family tree in my AU. This one changes things up the most I think haha. You can check out more of my AU stuff here.
See my notes below!
Making Wrenflight a tortie for genetics reasons.
Onestar is now Quickstar. I never really liked the very specific prefixes like One, Tall, Long. So a very WindClan name for him.
Ashfoot is no longer related to Quickstar and Morningflower for avoiding incest reasons.
Morningflower and Robinwing are mates! Robinwing came to ThunderClan as a kit and never really got why having a relationship with a cat from another clan was such a big deal. Their first litter is Raven and Dust, and their second litter is Gorse, Stork, and Quail. Robin was visiting Morning too close to kitting and had the second litter in WindClan. Storkkit, Quailkit, and Robinwing are all killed in the ShadowClan raid.
Whitetail and Tawnyfur are littermates.
Gorsepaw lives and becomes Gorsefire! He has kits with Tawnyfur.
When flees ThunderClan, he stays with Barley until Fireheart and Graystripe go to bring WindClan back. When they return, Raven stays in WindClan with his mother and little brother. He then becomes Barkface’s apprentice and earns the name Ravencall as a medicine cat.
Ferncloud will be a little older to avoid the awful age gap between her and Dust. She is also a tortie for genetics reasons.
Breezepelt is now Breezeclaw.
The Quick and White litter is Heather, Gale, Kestrel, and Hare.
Tawny and Gorse first have Emberfoot and Sunstrike, Buzzardkit comes later and dies young.
Not too many changes to the DustFern kids except Foxleap has a relationship with a RiverClan cat, Robinfang (one of the many Robinwings), and has Shadedapple and Foxnose, both die to the Kin.
Larkwing has Brookkit and Stripekit with Slightfoot.
Crouchfoot is now one of the SedgeEmber kids.
Fernstripe is Sunstrike’s kit to an unknown cat.
As she is now much older than (and related to) Larksong, Sparkstorm has her litter with Toadstep. Ferncloud, Toadstep, and Flickerkit die in the Dark Forest battle when a cat gets into the nursery. Whitewing fosters Finch and Flame while she’s grieving.
Whitewing and Birchfall have another litter at the time Brightheart canonically has Amber, Dew, and Snow. The litter is only Snowbush.
Tigerheart is now Goldenheart, after his grandmother. He never becomes leader of ShadowClan. Blackstar dies soon after Sol is chased out and Russetstar (Russetfur) is leader when the Kin take over. Tawnyclaw (Tawnypelt) becomes leader after she dies.
Dovewing and Ivypool are older than in canon. Their first gathering is the one after Hollyshine (Hollyleaf) disappears.
For now I’m keeping Rowankit’s original gray tabby description. I might end up changing Rowan to a tortie with Dovewing also a dilute tortie, inheriting the red gene from Whitewing, which is hidden beneath a dominant white. I do like the gray better tho...
Blossomfall and Ivypool are mates. Both have litters of kittens with loners and raise them together. Bristlefrost looks up to Stemleaf as an older brother figure.

MIST
Tumblr media
Name: Mist, former Mistpaw
Alliances: Street cats, former ThunderClan
Family: Leopardfoot, Pinestar (parents) Nightkit, Tigerclaw (siblings)
Education: Whitestorm (mentor) Shadow (student)
Mist is a tabby like the whole Tigerkin, but the only silver-gray one with green eyes
She has much narrower stripes than her brother
she is, to be precise (and a nerd) a black mackarel tabby with medium white banding and silver
She has the most visivle SkyClan genes, having huge haunches and an aboreal hunting style
She also has the distinctive SkyClan paw pads, gray and firm, with sharp claws made to climb things
She was the stronger of the two after Nightkit died
That lead to Leopardfoot focussing on Tigerkit, and while Mist never suffered physical neglect, she grew up knowing that her mother didn´t love her like she loved Tiger
Tiger knew her was the golden boy and often blamed his sister for trouble
Mist Did Not like her brother, but she loved him as family
Things went south very, very fast when they were apprenticed.
Tiger was given to Thistleclaw, and we all know how that went. Mist was given to Whitestorm, his first apprentice
It was a match made in StarClan.
It´s said a mentor is your third parent. Mist will always say Whitestorm was her only parent
He encouraged her to focus on her strengh: being fast and jumping like a star-blessed hare
ThunderClan doesn´t hunt arboreal. Whitestorm didn´t care, his little ball of fog was born to be up there and soon started catching her own weight in birds and squirrels
Their favorite trick became for Whitestorm to chase a squirrel up a tree, right into Mist´s paws
She was an abyssmal fighter, the older apprentices and her brother, encouraged by Thistleclaw, not giving her the breathing room to find her paws
Then Redpaw, Frostpaw and Brindlepaw became apprentices, and Mist and Red hit it off as friends and sparring partners
There was one moment in a group brawl where Mistpaw kicked Brindlepaw off Redpaw and the two locked eyes
They had a very sweet, budding teenage romance. Sparrowpelt left Whitestorm in charge of both of them sometimes, and Spottedpaw came along too
They were trouble, and Spotty made it double
If things had gone differently, Mist sometimes thinks, they would have been unstoppable
Then, when everyone was just waiting for her and Tiger to become warriors, Whitestorm was in the healer´s den, and Bluefur took her on hunting patrol
They ran into Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw
To this day, both Mist and Whitestorm struggle with this day. Mist doesn´t regret it. Whitestorm wishes he could´ve been there with her
The siblings were cordial. Friendly. You wouldn´t be able to tell they are littermates if you didn´t know, not even by looks. Tigerpaw had grown massive, and Mistpaw was smaller, more slender, with muscles made for hunting rather than brawling.
Bluefur left to stalk a dove. And Thistleclaw spotted a lone, small kittypet at the border and encouraged Tigerpaw to kill it
Mist has never been able to tell if she got between Tiny and Tigerpaw, or if she tackled her brother first. She stood between them and told them that if ThunderClan was going to encourage the killing of a kit, a four moons old child, just because it tresspassed, then fuck ThunderClan anyways
That wasn´t as out of nowhere as Bluefur thought it was. ThunderClan was radicalizing, picking fights with River and Shadow. There was less and less space for a she-cat with little interest in battle, a love for WindClan´s tunnelbuns and a strange hunting method
Mistpaw felt an outsider, and she had enough
She grabs Tiny and runs for it
Mist thinks any group that only respects their fighters isn´t going to survive long
She´s quiet and has little reason to laugh, but loves her friends
She´s a good teacher, drawing a lot from Whitestorm´s example
She prefers sunny days, and hunting in trees rather than on the ground
Her favorite freshkill is duck
Her favorite food period is wild duck glazed in honey and spiced with juniper
She´s ace, and has no interest in raising her own kits
She still loves Tigerclaw as her brother, but she aknowledges that whatever connection they once had is long gone
Quotes: "If to be loved by a parent is to be nurtured, encouraged, comforted and supported unconditionally, then you are my father more than Leopardfoot is my mother, Whitestorm."
Updating this as the story progresses

Hello, do you have any Brambleaf stories in the works? Or any you have published on this blog already? I am intrigued...
Sadly I do not but I do plan to, eventually! Don't know if I'll go the route of exploring the drama of it all or just get back on my "Leafpool gets everything she wants in life and suffers no consequences whatsoever" agenda.
I just... Frankly the reason I'm invested is that I love Jay, Holly, and Lion and I find Leafpool the more interesting of their biological parents and Brambleclaw the more interesting of their adopted parents.
(Squilf and Crow are fine, I guess, but I just don't get the hype.)
So. Pairing them up for best of both worlds just made sense to me.
ALSO, just think of the world of possibilities that open up when you consider Squirrel and Bramble teaming up to raise their illegal kits together and making their fake marriage convincing.
I particularly love the idea of Jay and Lion (Brambleleaf kits) being raised as the full siblings of Breeze and Holly (Squirrelcrow kits) and how the specifics of their illegal parentage would affect their relationship to one another post parentage reveal. Like Jay and Lion are the children of a medicine cat, sure, but they're at least full ThunderClan, with how xenophobic the clans are that must count for something.
(Also, full blooded ThunderClan Jay side by side with his half-WindClan siblings born of an already small she-cat... I'm thinking with this ancestry he'd be unusually tall, specially as his bio dad has Tigerstar genes and all. I like the idea of a taller Jay for this.)
ANYWAY, ANYWAY! I'll direct you to my good friend @dantelupine for further Brambleleaf thoughts. He's got a Brambleleaf WIP.

warrior cats headcanons bc why not!
these are mostly design headcanons but ehhhhh whatever
1. crowfeather and jayfeather look extremely similar. i like to think that jayfeather got crofeather's lanky, skinny and tall body type. he looks more like a typical windclan cat than a thunderclan cat, and is definitely taller than his littermates (and even leafpool!) hollyleaf is definitely up there in height and got crowfeather's windclan genes too, but she passes more as a thunderclan cat than jayfeather. lionblaze on the other hand is big, bulky, stumpy, much like leafpool. i also like to think he looks a bit like his great grandfather jake
2. crowfeather carries a silver and gray/black feather and a jay's feather behind his ear, to honor feathertail and jayfeather. jayfeather does the same with a single crow's feather. idk i just like to think that crowfeather isn't ALL that much of an asshole and doesn't completely disown his and leafpool's kits
3. dovewing and ivypool both have heterochromia! dovewing has a green right eye and a blue left eye, while ivypool has a green left eye and a blue right eye!
4. instead of all of bluestar's kits looking like her (with the exception of mosskit, but to be fair she doesnt look all like oakheart either), stonefur's body type is much more similar to oakheart (bulky and somewhat muscular), and he has yellowish/amber eyes. mistystar is almost a carbon copy of bluestar with the exception that she has lighter more icy blue eyes than bluestar. i like to think mosskit looks the same as her canon description but one of her eyes is half yellow/amber and half blue
5. hollyleaf inherited squirrelflight's single white paw, and has the same color eyes as squilf (and by that i mean like......same shade and everything. basically identical.) once she found out about squirrelflight not being their mother she would cover her white paw in brambles and holly leaves, trying to cover it up as best as she could. eventually she took the brambles and holly leaves off, after finally coming to terms with everything
6. briarlight and jayfeather would go out for walks, early early during the morning, when barely any cats were awake. not only just to get briarlight out of the den and to exercise her legs, but because she liked to describe everything she could see to jayfeather
7. when firestar first came into the forest and met tallstar for the first time, the first thing tallstar thought of was jake, and how much firestar looked like him. he knew immediately that this was jake's kid lol
8. brightheart and jayfeather liked to decorate briarlight's nest with flowers and feathers and all sorts of stuff while briarlight was asleep. her reaction is always priceless, like she never expects a thing.
9. tigerstar and brambleclaw WOULD'VE looked exactly the same......if it wasn't for goldenflower. brambleclaw is much more golden tinted and fluffy, more similar to goldenflower, which is what sets him apart from tigerstar. despite looking like a fluffy boy he is still an asshole
10. i havent even READ the broken code yet, but i like to think that when ashfur possesses brambleclaw, he changes like......a lot. his eyes change from amber to blue, and he definitely looks more like a ghost than a real.....cat. the tabby stripes on his pelt change into spots/flecks (similar to ashfur's darker flecks of fur), and occasionally little specks of ash will fall off of him, or if he shakes he'll spray bits of ash everywhere. just a little nod to him actually being ashfur, i suppose
and those are all the things i can think of! feel free to reblog this/reply to this and add more!

It's funny, I personally imagine Lionblaze to be very short and fat. Kinda like Wario--which works because they're both also stupidly strong and also generally assholes (but Wario is the better character of the two by far)
No one would guess Lionblaze himself is half-WindClan (or a little more than half-WindClan since I personally headcanon Sandstorm as half-WindClan as well), hell half the time they don't even believe he and Jayfeather (and Hollyleaf while she was still around) are siblings. They're both really tall and lean, definitely show the WindClan genes more. I think all Lionblaze got were giant ears, which all three of them share
I swear Lionblaze being huge and buff was a red herring for the readers to make us believe Brambleclaw was his dad lol, or at the very least throw suspicion away from Crowfeather

Oughhh I have two I'd love to talk about: Catchingbird and Cavestalker. They're both from a Warriors Adventure Game/Dnd game I've been part of for a couple years now. They both have character arcs that revolve around healing from past abuse/trauma and moving on to being who you want to be for yourself Catchingbird was born to Windclan's deputy at the time, Redflower, who was kinda planning to take over Windclan and was working with an old ghost who was planning to shatter the barrier between the afterlife and the living world. She was born to be raised to be Redflower's perfect heir, but she was quickly pushed too far, even as a kit, and it didn't help that due to her father's family genetics (he's a purebred albino oriental longhair, so he's got some bad genes) she has some disabilities that give her bad eyesight and chronic migraines. She ends up moving to Shadowclan for shelter and gets some lovely found family with her two best friends Finchsong and Pineheart, and though they didn't get along all of the time they were always there for each other through their problems. Eventually, she meets a loner named Salem, and they instantly get along and Catch ends up falling for her pretty quickly. Salem joins Shadowclan with her, and as they grow close and Salem tells her about living as a loner, Catch ends up realizing that she isn't happy or satisfied with clan life for a multitude of reasons. She loves her family and all, but she can't get used to the violence and wants a peaceful life. She and Salem end up leaving to become kittypets and she changes her name to Chloe, and they end up adopting a young stray named Rachel and they get to be happy together <3 (1/2)
yes more clan cats choosing to become kittypets is good

chapter six-
“Sparkthistle! Sparkthistle is missing!”
Antstar bolted upright from sleep as if he had been struck by lightning. He could hear murmurings of confusion outside his den, and turned to see his Clan awake with their newfound discovery. The sky was a beautiful, vivid teal blue made brighter by the storm that preceded it, and the ground was wet from the remnants of rain.
“Sparkthistle is missing?” Antstar asked into the crowd. Goldenpaw came forth and nodded- although her expression was not one of concern but of simple confusion. A small crowd had gathered outside Whitetooth’s den, where the van-patterned cat was soothingly reassuring their Clanmates that they had fallen asleep with her there and woke up to her missing.
Marblepaw, meanwhile, was in the back, her tailtip still shivering, nodding along to every word her mentor said.
Antstar turned to see Russetfoot behind him. “Should I send out a search patrol?” Antstar nodded and watched as the dark red tabby rounded up Adderthorn, Webwhisker, Stoatslink, and Coalpaw in an instant.
He hid, best he could, that he did not want them to find anything.
But after the initial shock, the camp dissolved into disdain. “She probably ran off,” said Sandwhisker. “My father went much the same way. He disagreed with his leader’s choices one too many times, and ran away to Twolegplace from frustration…”
“Personally,” said Talonscar, narrowing their rheumy olive-green eyes, “I’ll be glad if she ran off.”
“Oh, don’t say that!” reprimanded Crowflower.
Cherrycloud stood outside the nursery with Molethroat at her side, confliction across her face.
Figuring it was the best thing to do, Antstar climbed the Tallrock, about to make an announcement about the disappearance in order to settle his Clan down.
His mind felt spacey. Was he forgetting something?
Right- the warrior ceremony for Spiderpaw and her siblings was to be that day! “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey…” He trailed off as he recited the familiar spiel, but it seemed as if his Clanmates understood him as they lined up. He looked behind him to see the distant silhouettes of the search patrol, and then began.
“This morning, Whitetooth discovered that Sparkthistle, who had been in the medicine den last night for kittencough treatment, had gone missing. Russetfoot and I have started a search patrol to find her. Some of you seem to suspect…” His throat felt dry and his head felt like it was filled with helium as his Clan stared him down. “…Some of you seem to suspect that she purposely ran off, or that she wanted to join another Clan. We cannot confirm anything until she is seen again, so please refrain from such gossip.”
“He’s so willing to excuse a cat who did nothing but swear against him,” said Talonscar. Crowflower jabbed them in the rib to get them to quiet down.
“As the search starts, however, Clan life must go on. Provided nothing drastic is found in the search, we will proceed with Spiderpaw, Coalpaw, and Sparrowpaw’s warrior ceremonies this afternoon.”
There was a murmur of agreement. Much to Antstar’s relief, Whitetooth seemed to have had a point. Nobody was particularly missing the ginger molly.
Not too long later, Russetfoot’s patrol came back empty-handed. “We found nothing,” admitted the red tom.
“However,” Webwhisker added with a touch of meekness, “we found the slightest trace of WindClan scent on the gorge near RiverClan.”
For a moment it felt as though a sheet of ice was cutting through Antstar’s lungs.
“So we figured we’d ask RiverClan if we saw anything.”
“We’d likely need you to come along, though, Antstar,” Russetfoot said, gazing into Antstar’s perpetually-wide amber eyes. “While we are friendly with RiverClan, it will do well for us if you explain why we are asking them.”
“Right, then.” Antstar swallowed, making a silent prayer that no RiverClan cat had seen the disposal of Sparkthistle’s body the night before. “Let us go there. Russetfoot, stay behind to keep watch of camp.”
To Fourtrees and then across the rickety bridge they went, careful to not let its fraying sides splinter them. The familiar, wide-open territory of WindClan seemed to fold away behind them as they were greeted with RiverClan’s reedy grounds and corrals of willows. Smooth rocks embedded into the earth seemed to tower over them, and Antstar had to look twice to ensure no cat was watching them from the peaks. Soon, a large island cut off from the rest of the world by the smooth river became visible through the reeds, and Antstar realized this must be RiverClan’s camp. He had never been here before, but he had heard Shalestar’s deputies complain about having to swim to get to it. Nearly as soon as he had stopped to look it over, though, Stoatslink and Coalpaw had already leapt into the waters, and he had to follow them. He slipped in, the cool summer waters licking at his flank. Something about this water felt positive, gentle; something very much unlike the frightful black current that he had watched Sparkthistle-
No. He couldn’t think about that now. It was a false memory, he told himself. That couldn’t have really happened. Sparkthistle was simply missing, and he would have to aid his Clan in finding her.
Soon, his paws gripped onto the shore of the island, and he pulled himself up before looking back to ensure Adderthorn and Webwhisker would reach the other side. Webwhisker pulled himself out of the water first, and silently motioned an offer to help Adderthorn, but she refused, her gaze far beyond him. She had always been distant like this, even to her own two children, Marblepaw and Twigpaw. Perhaps that was part of what Whitetooth meant when they stood over Marblepaw and-
No, no. It didn’t happen. It was some wild dream, Antstar tried to convince himself. It had to be.
The air hit his nostril, and it was thick with the scents of water, reeds, and freshly-caught fish. It was not nearly as pungent as he had thought it had been- or at least the way gossipy WindClan cats had whispered it was to him as RiverClan strode into the Gatherings.
He was surprised by how freeing it felt- not that he liked the scent, but he had never realized how tired he had been of the smell of WindClan grasses. But before he could take a chance to ponder that, a hiss greeted him, and he looked to see a tortoiseshell molly on the shore confronting Stoatslink.
“Trespassers!” she snarled. She was a rather small specimen for a RiverClan cat- perhaps she shared a common gene with Tulipstar.
“I am Antstar, WindClan leader,” said Antstar, the words feeling rather uncomfortable in his mouth like a grain of sand in an oyster’s maw. “I need to talk to Tulipstar.”
“And you think you can just come onto our territory like that? Show some respect. We may be allies, rabbit-feet, but that doesn’t mean you can just come into our camp on such short notice.” She drew her teeth together to make a ffft sound, but as she did so she backed into a tall tom with brown tabby fur, who Antstar immediately recognized as Trufflepelt, Tulipstar’s slightly-harried deputy. “Let them trespass,” he said. Immediately the tortoiseshell nodded and slinked off into the reeds.
“…Sorry about that. She means well, but she always has a bit of a temper.” He bowed to Antstar. “I will take you to Tulipstar now.” He led them away through the reeds and into camp. The WindClan cats, with their thin bodies and drawn-out faces, looked like kites among kestrels with the RiverClan cats around him. Not only did they live in nearly complete cover from the starlight- something Antstar found deeply unnerving- but their habitat had shaped them completely differently. Where WindClan’s tough, lean prey had rendered the cats thin and hardy, RiverClan cats had grown fat on their diet of fish- an advantage, given the cold waters that often soaked their pelts. Their ears were rounded at the tips, and they often had fur that wasn’t necessarily long so much as it was incredibly thick. Suddenly it made sense to Antstar why they spent so many summer days lounging: their thick pelts and plump bodies couldn’t make the heat easy for them.
“There she is,” said Trufflepelt, pointing his tail over at where the RiverClan leader was talking to a red tabby molly with tufted ears. Her ears twitched with the sense of the WindClan cats’ arrival, and soon she got up to canter over to them. Her small size was accentuated by the rest of RiverClan, who were nearly the size of ThunderClan cats, albeit with less of the muscle.
“Hello, Antstar,” she said kindly. “It is good to see you look well.”
Antstar was a bit surprised to hear he looked well, given he felt as though he hadn’t slept in moons. “Hello, Tulipstar. Good to see the same of you. …Can I talk to you about something?”
The RiverClan leader nodded. Antstar felt something soothing in her presence, rather something of a doting aunt that he never had.
“Last night, one of our warriors was ill with kittencough. Our medicine cat fell asleep with her in the den, and when they woke up, she was gone. We’re wondering if you or your Clanmates have seen her; her name is Sparkthistle. She’s a bright ginger tabby molly, rather skinny, slightly upturned nose, amber eyes…”
Tulipstar thought carefully, clicking her tongue and staring at the ground as if she was trying to summon every word she had heard that day. “I’m sorry, I can’t say we have.”
“Sparkthistle?” snickered the tortoiseshell from earlier, her jade-green eyes aglow. “I fought with her at a Gathering once. Don’t know what was for, and I know you aren’t supposed to pick fights at Gatherings- but man, I totally licked her.”
“Not appropriate, Mossfang,” Tulipstar said slightly bitterly. The tortoiseshell frowned, as if she was a child Tulipstar had put into time-out, and went back to where she had been sharing a small pike with a pale tan tabby tom.
“Here,” said Trufflepelt. “I’ll arrange a patrol. Redfeather, Longsnout, Smokebark, and Willownose.” The red tabby from earlier rose to her feet and padded over, alongside three other experienced-looking cats. Antstar could tell all of them were older than him. If they found Sparkthistle… could they recognize what had happened to her?
“Our friends in WindClan have a missing Clanmate. Could you do a patrol with them to ensure she has not found her way onto our territory?” instructed Trufflepelt. “I shall come along with you.”
Away the ten cats went. Trufflepelt and Antstar sat at the front, Trufflepelt’s pale amber eyes deeply focused at the task at hand compared to Antstar’s floundering ones. Then there was Redfeather, Webwhisker, Stoatslink, and Coalpaw, all exchanging pleasantries as they searched, then the three other RiverClan warriors, and then, in the very back, Adderthorn, who remained completely silent.
“Tell me about Sparkthistle,” asked Redfeather, suddenly pacing up to Antstar. She was a very pretty molly, despite clearly being in middle age. Her face was framed by vivid darker red stripes, and her fur was so dark ginger that it was practically the color of ripe currant.
“Sparkthistle… she’s a very argumentative molly. Always has prickly things to say. Doesn’t get along with anyone, in our Clan or in others. You saw that tortoiseshell in your camp talk about how she had a fight with her once.”
“Ah.” Redfeather nodded sagely. “And you said she was in the medicine den with illness?”
“Kittencough,” said Antstar. “She didn’t seem to believe she had it.”
“Could she have run out and done something just to show she didn’t have it?” “That would sound like something she’d do.”
“My sons would often do that when they were apprentices. If Pebblesky said they were ill and put them to bed, they’d always be found the next morning sneaking out and trying to fish to show how tough they were.” She laughed wistfully. “It never worked, though.”
Antstar nodded along, pretending that he didn’t know she had come to the wrong conclusion.
As they walked, they soon approached the gorge- this time, from RiverClan’s side. While WindClan’s side was a sharp edge, a cliffside; RiverClan’s was more of a slope, and Antstar felt too nervous to approach it in case he lost his footing.
“Could she have fallen into the Gorge?” Smokebark asked in a very matter-of-fact way, after a long pause as they looked into the crashing rivers below.
Another long pause. Antstar felt the silence creep under his pelt.
“…It’s possible.”
They all looked down into the raging currents.
“That’s how one of Redfeather’s sons passed away,” whispered Willownose into Antstar’s ear. “The two of them went out playing by the gorge, and Applepaw tripped and fell in. Squirrelpaw went running in after him. They managed to pull Squirrelpaw out… Applepaw, however, was dead by the time the patrol had found them. We worry about Squirrelface, now. A fine warrior, but he seems to never want to make connections.”
Something vile began to burn in the back of Antstar’s throat as he looked over to see the look of horror on Redfeather’s face as she stared down into the waters.
“… It is a possibility she might have fallen in,” said Antstar, trying to convince himself.
“If we looked in the gorge,” Smokebark continued, “we’d have to do it on our own, with more RiverClan cats. It’s a very dangerous thing. Even the most powerful of leaders would be no match for it on their own.”
“We should look everywhere else first instead,” said Webwhisker. “That way it’s a last resort for you guys.”
They nodded amongst themselves and left, Redfeather shaking her head to get her mind off of the son the gorge had whisked away from her.
They continued on, through the territory, but there was no sign of the WindClan molly- as Antstar knew there would not be. They soon made their way into RiverClan’s camp, and when Tulipstar looked in their direction Antstar and Trufflepelt simply shook their heads.
“No luck?”
“Not a sign of her,” Antstar confirmed.
“I think she might have fallen into the gorge,” Smokebark continued, “but we agreed we’d only look there as a last resort.”
Tulipstar approached Antstar. In the sunlight that glittered through the willow leaves, her white-and-orange pelt only looked all the more vibrant. “I’m sorry you could not find your friend here.”
Friend. Antstar did not have the heart to tell her that couldn’t be more untrue.
“We’ll keep looking on the moors. And-“  -he swallowed- “there’s always the chance she could have run far beyond the Clans altogether.”
And so, the WindClan cats slipped away as Redfeather and Tulipstar watched, through the reeds, through the water, and over the bridge, on the long path home.
“Was anything found?” asked Russetfoot as soon as the patrol returned, but judging by their distant expressions and the lack of Sparkthistle among them, he had already found his answer. He nodded immediately as Antstar explained- the kindness RiverClan had given them, the lack of WindClan scent on their land, the gorge.
“Ah. I’m sorry. We asked a ShadowClan patrol and the barn cats, but neither said they saw any sign of her.”
However, as Antstar looked upon camp, there was still little distress over Sparkthistle’s fate. Only Cherrycloud seemed to be acting off. Otherwise, while there were murmurs and rumors circling through camp of what might have become of the ginger molly- maybe she ran off to SkyClan, maybe she went to Twolegplace, maybe the bull in the farm pens got her- there was next to nobody that truly seemed to miss her.
For a split moment, Antstar made eye contact with Whitetooth. They looked reassuring, as if they knew all along this was exactly what would happen.
It was fine. It was all working out for the better.
Everything was fine… And he had a warrior ceremony to start.
“And do you promise to uphold the Warrior Code and protect and defend this Clan… even at the cost of your life?”
Spiderpaw nodded enthusiastically. Antstar had always thought of her as small, as she had been when he had first received her as an apprentice. Only now, as he was about to bestow her warrior name, had he realized she was nearly as tall as him. How much had changed since Shalestar had given her to him, all those moons ago…
“Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Spiderpaw, from this moment on you shall be known as Spiderfoot. StarClan honors your determination and cunning, and we welcome you as a full warrior and moor runner of WindClan.”
The three former apprentices turned towards the Clan, their mentors and their mother Shadeflower looking on with awe.
“I give you Coalclaw, Sparrowpetal, and Spiderfoot!”
“Coalclaw! Sparrowpetal! Spiderfoot!” cheered the Clan. Shadeflower and Houndnose, who had been Sparrowpetal’s mentor, chatted together about Stripedwing’s upcoming litter. Coalclaw was being congratulated by the other tunnelers. And Spiderfoot, her head held high, was bragging to her uncle, Webwhisker, and her grandfather, a tabby elder named Silverbelly. The Sparkthistle matter had been forgotten nearly entirely.
Just as Antstar decided the matter was safely buried away, however, he spotted RiverClan cats on the horizon marching towards camp with urgency in their gait. Trufflepelt was leading them; Redfeather, Smokebark, and Willownose were behind him, the latter two carrying something limp and orange.
Oh, no.
“WindClan!” cried Trufflepelt. The tom was out of breath. Presumably, they had practically sprinted there from RiverClan territory. “WindClan! We found Sparkthistle!”
Immediately the cheer from the apprentice ceremony vanished as the RiverClan warriors slipped into camp through the gorse-lined tunnel. They laid Sparkthistle’s body out before the Clan, who stared before it in a lopsided, shocked way. It had been rendered ragged from the waves, sopping wet, with the once-ginger fur now darkened and muddied, clumping together like windblown grass.
“We’re very sorry to inform you of this, but we found her drowned in the gorge. She had been dead for some time. She was snagged on one of the rocks near the edge of territory.”
“It is most likely she fell in on accident,” added Smokebark, in the methodical way which he always seemed to speak with.
Antstar suddenly felt his heart, which had been rattling around his ribcage, begin to still as there was a murmur throughout the Clan. “She refused my instruction to rest in the medicine den,” said Whitetooth, stepping forward. Their face always looked so still but yet so genuine, like a stone reflecting sunset. The events of the night before felt so distant already. “If she was found in the gorge, she likely went out hunting to try and defy my instruction. She then must have tripped and fallen in, as our RiverClan friends have told us.”
Antstar scanned the clearing. Ironically, it seemed as if nobody was particularly upset. Only Cherrycloud seemed to be struck with an emotion, and the expression on her face wasn’t one Antstar could clearly read. For a split second, the Burmese tom felt his amber eyes wander to Whitetooth, who locked their eyes back. It was as if they were communicating something to Antstar through his mind: I told you there was nothing to worry about.
“We should bury her on the north side,” said Stoatslink, “near the farm.” He was carefully sniffing the body, inspecting; it was like he was not yet fully convinced on her death. The camp began to fill itself with discussions of how they would do the burial, who would be there, and Trufflepelt offered his apologies as the RiverClan patrol slipped away. The cats who had joined WindClan just a scant few days ago seemed unable to comprehend the body before them- they had not dealt with the death as often as their clanborn peers had. The elders, however, seemed to regard Sparkthistle with only the dullest surprise.
Antstar knew he should have felt relieved. In a way, he had. And yet… something gripped at him. If they regarded Sparkthistle with such indifference… if they ever found out his secret, would they regard him the same way?
No, they wouldn’t. He was no murderer. He was simply helping his Clan be unified, peaceful.
But something told him this was not the last time he would have to make such a choice.
That night, the sky was so clear it felt as if one could jump up into it and be gone. Sparkthistle had been buried at sunset, on the north side of territory. Only Stoatslink and Cherrycloud had chosen to sit vigil for their Clanmate, although Antstar sensed that perhaps more would have joined out of a sense of pity; the sort of pathetic, reluctant pity one would regard a dying adder with; if it had not been for the warrior vigils of Spiderfoot, Sparrowpetal, and Coalclaw.
“Antstar, can I talk to you for a moment?” asked a voice. For a moment, Antstar jumped when he saw an orange molly that looked eerily like Sparkthistle, but he calmed himself when he realized it was simply Cherrycloud. She shared her sister’s bright tabby pelt, and her amber eyes, but she had a softer face, and she smelled of drying kit milk.
“Of course.” Antstar tried his best to look peaceful and solemn, but a raging current was coursing through his nerves. Had she already realized?
“I just… I really want to thank you.” Antstar nearly stumbled back in his seat- partially with relief, partially with bewilderment. “I know the Clan and… my sister… did not get along well. But it means a lot that you sent out those patrols and went to RiverClan.”
“She was one of us,” Antstar said. “I would have done the same with any other Clanmate.”
He had nearly forgotten she was a WindClan cat, in his mind’s attempts to rationalize what he’d done.
“I know she didn’t get along with you particularly well.” Cherrycloud began to walk over to the gorse tunnel, and Antstar followed. “She never really got to connect with me, either, after we were apprentices. I wish I did something back then about how neglected by our mother she was. I just… never found the courage to.”
She looked into the distance. The very last vestige of day was on the tip of the horizon, giving a faint purple glow, but the rest of the sky was as indigo as indigo could be.
“Did she ever talk to you much?”
“…She did, at first. I couldn’t handle her negativity, though, and I had to let go for my own sake. It was right around when Molethroat and I fell in love that she stopped trying entirely. I think she envied me for it. I remember she had always wanted a mate. …She never visited our kits. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.”
Antstar looked back to the nursery, where Houndnose was trying to wrangle Rosekit and Amberkit. Only now that he had ruminated on the two sisters- and seen Sparkthistle’s look of horror as death overtook her- did he notice her resemblance in them. Amberkit had her eyes, Rosekit had her ears…
“I guess that’s what I’m mourning. Not her, necessarily- oftentimes she just made my days worse. But… the opportunity she could have had. I wish she had had the time to sort herself out and adjust.”
At first, Antstar felt the guilt was going to gnaw through him so hard that his liver would be torn in two. But then he remembered Whitetooth’s words: And Sparkthistle is never going to get better, either.
The tragedy here, Antstar decided, was not that Cherrycloud’s sister never got time. It was that Cherrycloud had expected a fantasy that would simply never come, like waiting for a stone to sprout flower buds. Sparkthistle was not going to change. If anything, she could have gotten much worse. It was a tragedy. It had to be. But leadership, if nothing else, was a chain of little tragedies.
“…Sorry for rambling,” she added.
“No, no- don’t be sorry.”
“I just… it’s hard for me to know how I feel about it, I guess. But being a mother grants me some peace about it. It feels like I can stop it from happening all over again. Brindlekit in particular reminds me so much of her better qualities.” She trotted away, toward the nursery, where Antstar could see the reflections of her kits’ eyes glow back at him in the dark.
“You should come visit the kits, sometime. They love you.” And with that she slipped into the nursery, and the faint chattering of her children became whispers in the night’s air.
He’d never think about this again, he decided. The only time he would allow Sparkthistle to occupy his head once more was when he would announce her passing at the Gathering. There was no need to continue to ponder it.
It was over now. And Antstar hoped that he could approach leadership, from this point on, with a fresh mind.

Mothpool AU Rambles - Po3
I made some Mothpool hypokits.
Quailwing (named after Mothwing and equivalent to Jay) is a dilute chocolate mackerel tabby tom with blind blue eyes (blue is inherited from Mothwing).
Russetleaf (named after Leafpool and equivalent to Holly) is a chocolate and red mackerel torbie she-cat with green eyes (green is inherited from Leafpool who carried the gene from her parents... she’s also a demigirl cuz I said so).
Lynxcloud (equivalent to Lionblaze) is a fluffy reddish-orange mackerel tabby tom with amber eyes (inherited from Leafpool).
I got the genetics from a genetic generator (I changed them a bit though...) so they should be accurate.
Excuse me as I rant about an AU idea I had-
So basically.
Leafpool (at the time Leafpaw) ends up getting really close to Mothwing while Squilf is out and about.
Mothwing feels comfortable telling her that she’s trans and just didn’t want to tell anyone outside of RiverClan, because she already knew she was by the time she was apprenticed so why would anyone care? Plus she didn’t want to get discriminated against even though at this rate the Clans are used to same sex couples (Firestar and Graystripe are a thing, Sandstorm’s also there) and trans cats (Firestar, Sandstorm, probably a lot of others)...
Anyways, most of TNP goes the same, but then Leafpool ends up having kits with Mothwing instead... Mothwing is surprised to hear this, but the two of them, Squirrelflight and Ferncloud (who Leafpool decides should nurse the kits... Mothwing has other thoughts though) go to have the kits away from the Clans.
The first born is a chocolate she-kit (you’ll see...). Before even seeing his eyes or anything Leafpool knows that she should be named Quailkit, so she is.
Next is a chocolate and red mackerel torbie she-kit. Mothwing names this one Russetkit, having heard of ShadowClan’s deputy and her friendship with her mother Sasha.
Lastly is a fluffy red she-kit (they trans boiiiiiiiiiiii). While Leafpool wants to name her Mothkit, Mothwing advises against it and Squirrelflight decides to name her Lynxkit.
When it comes time to go home though, Lynxkit has established a bond with Mothwing, who already wanted at least one of the kits to come to RiverClan. Leafpool bids her daughter and Mothwing farewell and brings Quailkit and Russetkit to ThunderClan.
Quailkit soon decides that he/him pronouns fit him better after getting to know his grandfather Firestar, and in RiverClan Lynxkit does the same upon getting to know Mothwing, who he has a close bond with, better.
The only cats who know the truth in RiverClan are Leopardstar, Willowpaw and Mothwing, while in ThunderClan many more know the truth - Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw (vaguely;he knows the Three aren’t his and Squilf’s kits but doesn’t know who they are), Firestar, Sandstorm and the nursery permaqueens.
The Three get apprenticed. Russetpaw is excited to be a medicine cat apprentice, while her brother Quailpaw is determined to become a warrior and overcome his disability. Meanwhile in RiverClan, Lynxpaw is excited to become a warrior, despite his crush on Willowpaw slowing his progress down a bit.
Now here, Quailpaw and Russetpaw don’t switch roles. While Russetpaw does still struggle with herb meanings and such, Leafpool gives her ways to remember them, through little rhymes or short songs. Quailpaw gets training in his dreams from Yellowfang, Spottedleaf and Cinderpelt (though Cinder’s presence is weaker due to her also being by Cinderpaw’s side as a guardian angel/imaginary friend to her, more on that later), learning how to hunt through both sight and smell.
Eventually Russetpaw goes to RiverClan to make sure everything’s okay, before getting stuck due to Twoleg doing... I don’t know what they were doing during Dark River. During her time in RiverClan she bonds with both Lynxpaw and Willowpaw, the latter of whom she was already close to due to medicine cat meetings.
Now, in the canon books, Lionpaw meets with Heatherpaw in the tunnels. Here, however, instead we have Quailpaw meeting with Minnowpaw... I’m not sure where. Perhaps they were exploring ThunderClan territory and accidentally overstepped the borders, Quailpaw falling into the tunnels and them LARPing there? Anyways, both want to be warriors despite both having short fuses. Unlike in the canon books where after saving the WindClan kits Lionpaw and Heatherpaw’s friendship fades away, Quailpaw and Minnowpaw keep being friends, talking at Gatherings and occasionally asking Russetpaw, Willowpaw, Leafpool or Mothwing to tell them something or give them something when they come over to help. The kits they save here are Sneezekit and Mallowkit.
And as in the canon books, Lynxpaw trains in the Dark Forest. Tigerstar mentoring him honestly makes sense to me - there’s probably been several leaders named Tigerstar who have been colored like him given Tigerheart. Anyways, Tigerstar tells him he just wants to help him hone in on his powers. Of course, he wants to, so he trains in the Dark Forest.
Oh, also Russetpaw does have a power! At first Quailpaw tells her about his power and she pretends to be the one with it. However, after a bit, Leafpool figures out the facade and confronts Quailpaw about it. Russetpaw’s power takes longer to manifest, but she does have it, and it’s getting cats to tell the truth, basically hypnotizing them. She uses it a bit before she runs away into the tunnels to get cats to confess to breaking the warrior code, but after the reveal she decides that maybe she shouldn’t do that and instead uses it to figure out who’s training in the Dark Forest.
Anyways, onto Outcast!
Due to Brook and Stormfur formerly taking refuge in RiverClan, Leopardstar decides that one of their cats should go to the mountains as well alongside Crowfeather, Breezepaw, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, Quailpaw, Russetpaw and Brambleclaw. Lynxpaw volunteers, and his mentor (Dawnflower, Minnowpaw’s mom) therefore goes as well. Mothwing considers going, but ultimately doesn’t, instead deciding to teach Lynxpaw some herbs due to not fully trusting Russetpaw’s herb skills. He becomes a bit interested in them, but not enough to become a meddie.
After watching Lynxpaw during the battle with the rogues, Quailpaw tells him and Russetpaw a prophecy.
There will be three, kin of a great leader’s kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws. Look for the sharp-eyed quail. Listen out for the lynx’s roar. After both of these events have come and gone, peace will come on a gentle russet leaf.
Russetpaw is certain that she and Quailpaw are two of the cats in the prophecy, simply believing that Lynxpaw’s prefix being mentioned is just a coincidence due to the commonality of the prefix.
Lynxpaw doesn’t know what to think about it.
The prospect of being important excites Quailpaw. The cats who doubt him won’t any longer when they find out he’s a prophecy cat! Or at least, that’s what he hopes...
Eclipse goes about the same... aside from Lynxpaw not wanting to fight Quailpaw! He just became friends with him, and might be in the prophecy with him!
Sol tells Lynxpaw that he can explain the prophecy. Lynxpaw decides that he should tell Mothwing and Willowpaw about it, and firstly tells the latter of the two.
Willowpaw and him both agree that the great leader is likely Firestar, but could also be one of the original leaders, leaving Heatherpaw and Breezepaw as possible candidates. Lynxpaw tells her that Quailpaw told him the prophecy, and she says that they’re possible candidates too. He starts to have low self esteem after this, but Willowpaw comforts him and the two basically get together but they don’t realize cuz they’re dumbasses.
The two of them then go to tell Mothwing. At first she’s hesitant to believe them - she’s never really seen StarClan as much of a higher force then the living cats, they’re just dead cats, they’re as reckless and at times mouse-brained as they were when they were alive.
But she sees the glow in Lynxpaw’s eyes. It reminds her of what she loved about Leafpool. She sees Leafpool in the son she could never treat as her own. Believing Willowpaw to have received the prophecy (mouse-dung, we forgot to tell her that Quailpaw told me the prophecy), at the next Moonpool meeting she gives her her medicine cat name - Willowshine.
Due to how valiantly he fought in the battle, Lynxpaw is given his warrior name of Lynxcloud. Minnowpaw is given her warrior name at this time as well, as is Pebblepaw, with those two being named Minnowtail and Pebblefoot like in canon.
Quailpaw is also given his warrior name by Firestar, that being Quailwing after Mothwing.
Long Shadows is mostly the same except for one minor change, that being that Jay’s Wing is now named Quail’s Feather. Flamepaw, Dawnpaw and Tigerpaw help the Three fake an omen to get Blackstar to believe in StarClan again like in the canon books. The fire scene is also slightly different... but anyways, Russetpaw gets her full name of Russetleaf.
Now the fire scene... the whole reveal happens but afterwards Squilf reassures Russetleaf and Quailwing that she loves them as if they were her own kits, and that Brambleclaw does as well.
Quailwing takes a while to accept it, still being confused about his power... StarClan has given cats powers before, but for all he knows he’s just a kittypet or rogue or loner who was brought to the Clan at a young age. And how does Lynxcloud fit into this? Eventually though, he accepts it, deciding to try to help whoever the Three are with whatever the prophecy requires them to do.
Russetleaf, however, can’t accept it. She’s a disgrace to her Clan and has no right to be a medicine cat. She should’ve known she wasn’t in the prophecy, she doesn’t have a power at all... Cinderheart notices something’s wrong and talks to her about it, and they get together and she starts to feel better, even if she realizes that she’s breaking the code... she’s stopped caring anymore.
Eventually though, Russetleaf’s power appears and she’s confused. She accidentally uses it without realizing after Quailwing finds out that Leafpool’s their mother, in an attempt to figure out who their father/sire is. Also yes, I did shuffle events... partially cuz I forgot the order they happen in.
Russetleaf carried the blood red berries in her jaws as she entered camp. No one questioned her, though she saw a few cats giving her weird looks. I have to do this, she thought.
As she entered the medicine cat den, Leafpool looked up at her, fear in her eyes.
“Russetleaf, what are you-” Russetleaf cut her off.
“I know now,” she hissed, “Mother. I may not know who our father is, but-”
The medicine cat cut her off. The tortioseshell tabby noticed that her eyes looked... focused on something else, as if in a trance.
“While she’s not your father, per-say, Mothwing sired you, Quailwing and Lynxcloud,” her mother mewed, “now, may I please leave the den?”
Her eyes looked normal again halfway through her second sentence. Still confused, Russetleaf nodded, allowing Leafpool to exit the den.
What did I just do?
She experiments with her power, seeing who may’ve broken the warrior code. Mousewhisker (relationship with Minnowtail), Squirrelflight (hiding the truth), Brambleclaw (same as Squilf), heck, even Firestar (giving prey to RiverClan, giving Yellowfang prey and eating some of it before bringing it to the Clan, hiding Graystripe’s relationship with Silverstream, probably more)! ... all of them admit it.
She begins to feel... power-hungry. While the Dark Forest has been unable to recruit her due to her loyalty to ThunderClan, they are able to do one thing: will her to kill Ashfur. Leafpool had taught her some fighting techniques she’d learned from Cinderpelt and Mothwing, she knows a decent amount, and uses them to kill Ashfur. To keep her Clan safe.
This starts to weigh her down. She feels terrible. She broke the code... but she did it to keep her Clan safe! ... didn’t she?
She can’t keep it inside any longer. She tells everyone the truth at a Gathering. Mothwing and Leafpool are exposed. Firestar doesn’t want to make her give up her position, but Leafpool insists on it, scared of what Russetleaf could do. Leopardstar, who’s always been a code junkie even if she made two half-Clan cats deputy, made one of Tigerstar’s kits temporarily deputy even though she (I think) knew he was Firestar’s son, allowed one of Tigerstar’s kits who was formerly a rogue to be a medicine cat, relinquishes Mothwing’s position.
Lynxcloud says he wants to talk to his siblings, and they all go to the tunnels. Russetleaf needs to tell someone what she did... so she tells her brothers. And she runs in. And it seems as if she’s gone... dead...
But two young kits have potential.

Note
i love your art and all and maybe this sound silly but,,, what is exactly warriorcats? i want know more of the fandom
ty!
and its a book series! its called warriors but yknow for easier searching and it sounds better everyone just says ‘warrior cats’ lol
but its a book series that got super popular! and its being going on, and it still on going for nearly 20 years
and its just about 4 groups of cats living out in the woods and they got cat laws and stuff. and fun names where their name usually start off as like (blank)kit. Usually their prefix name is colors, flowers, nature, animals and ect. then they become apprentices and are renamed (blank)paw and they train to be warriors to fight for their clan and whatever and get the suffix in their name from paw to something else and whatever. like theres bluefur, jayfeather, flipclaw and swiftbreeze and stuff like that. and their leaders get nine lives and their suffix changes to star.
and the first six set of books is about this one pet named rusty renamed firepaw is prophecies to help the clans and whatever. and he becomes a super swaggy warrior and kicks ass or whatever.
and after the first series where firepaw becomes fireheart and ofc firestar, (because you shouldn’t be surprised that the main character prophecies to be super swaggy in a young teen novel becomes the leader) its about his daughter squirrelflight and her friends but mostly her and brambleclaw (son of the least series main villian) and their stupid not that interesting or good relationship despite what you would hope would come from it.
then the next series is about squirrelflights kids jayfeather, lionblaze and hollyleaf and they have super powers maybe. tbh i dont remember a lot about that series, it had iconic scenes and stuff and cringe idiots. some of those cats sure had super powers and was a lot of build up to the next series.
and then the next series is aLSO about squirrelflights babies but now their not her babies because “surprise” they were her sister leafpool’s kids and for some reason even tho leafpool has been nothing but kind to the said kids and squirrelflight raised them with love, the kids treat them both like their dirty and terrible liars and not their moms. also dovewing is there and shes like the great niece of firestar and she’s hanging out with the cats from the last series
then the fifth series i didnt read but i think its about squirrelflight actual kid alderheart but i dont really know if thats true, again i didn’t read the books after some point in the fourth series
and if its not about alderheart then i think its about his adopted daughter uuuuh twigbranch or something and her sister violetshine, but more about violetshine i think. she seems important. and i think both of them change clans once or twice maybe, violetshine hangs out with an anime villian and i think her and twigbranch have THE most convoluted backstory from what i understood from their wiki.
then violetshine marries a stoner named tree and the next series about their kid stoner baby jr AKA rootpaw who is full of rage. also supporting main characters are dovewings son shadowsight and dovewings sister’s boring incest baby bristlefrost.
and i say incest baby because at this point in the series if you cant tell everyone is related to firestar or firestars nephew and the gene pool is entirely them, i think at least 80% of the group their apart of is their family. and remember how i said their was stupid forest cat rules? one of those rules was no having babies from outside the clan idiot! which is a dumb rule and has lead to stupid forbidden romances and so many incest babies. hardly anyone can have babies without being related anymore. the writers of the books series have accidentally made siblings mate, made uncles and nieces mates without realizing it.
look at this
Tumblr media
its a mess! and bristlefrost parents had parents/siblings who were apart of a prophecy about being related to firestar
also i havent even mentioned ghost cats because theres a variety to chose from! theres starclan which is cat heaven and the cats seek guidance from starclan through dreams, omens and prophecies despite all of starclan being made of dead cats they once knew. like their drinking pool water and holding a sayonce to ask their friend ted who died last year how much sugar goes in the recipe but fuck dude, ted is just a dead he doesn’t know. he shrugs and him and your other dead buddies get together and make a rough estimation of maybe a cup or two
and then theres the dark forest where cats that starclan deemed bad and wrong go. its hell! its hell for cats! but starclan and the clans in general are kinda dick heads and I believe has sent some cats there unfairly while letting other shit heads into cat heaven. but thats me
and then theres just straight up ghost cats, i think its purgatory for cats? i havent read the part were ghost showed up. by the way didn’t mention this earlier, but the cat named Tree i mentioned earlier can see ghost and summon them i think. its just a thing that the group he was from can do, and his son rootpaw can also do it. its a big part of the series as a ghost is pillowing around a deadmans rotting corpse.
also tree was from a group that wasn’t apart of the clans named the sisters, they were an all female group who could see ghost or something. they seem neat. again, showed up in book i didnt read
and the starclan thing is only for clan cats, if you dont believe and dedicate yourself to starclans magic ways and rules you dont go here. where do you go? iuhknow somewhere dummy, you dont need to know.
theres two cats who dont believe in starclan which is funny to two extents which, one is a healer who are meant to talk to starclan and receive prophecies and stuff. Two, both were in a big war were starclan manifested in the real world with the dark forest and they killed each other. yes! the ghost manifested and made each other double super forever dead. and these cats still dont believe in starclan. but yknow what their fair, starclan is dumbass
this isn’t important but im on a roll now, and i just need to mention there was a group of cats who did yoga.
also! theres four clans!
the main one we only see for three-four series is thunderclan. their known for being the main character! their just very good and perfect and heroic and again, have main character syndrome. you will only see what thunderclan is up to for 4 series AT LEAST without reading the side books.
theres shadowclan, which when introduce at the series start is introduced as villians, their said to be evil and very very bad. they eat rats and stalk around at night like weirdos. however through reading the side books and the progression of the series you realize shadowclan had two evil rulers and MANY idiots. i love them, their very good at hiring clearly evil cats with bad ideology as their leaders and just blindly following them.
riverclan, they can swim! thats their gimmick! their lazy, pretty and arrogant. i love them their dumbasses and this one line of their wiki pages is enough said on them and is the funniest thing
Tumblr media
then theres windclan, they sleep on the moor and run really fast. the first book series their fucking missing because shadowclan bullied them into leaving. we really dont see a lot of windclan until the second series, despite how often the cats have to walk through their lands to get places. tallstar is the first leader you meet in the series and i love him, he fucked firestars dad shitlips.
all in all i think you probably wanted a short simple explanation but i got into it
the book series is bad, but very fun and very stupid. its so funny and bad.
its got its issues! i have a lot of complaints about it and its writing. but if you want an easy read to get into! i recommend it! if you have better things to do however, do that. theres better things out there than warriors I promise

hhhh I need to talk about this warriors au sitting around in my brain anyways here goes
Differences in clan custom:
- It’s pretty normal to bring in and/or mate with outsiders so as to keep the gene pool not so... incesty...
- Clans pretty much are a large family unit. It’s not uncommon for cats in the same age group to think of each other as siblings despite not being from the same litter.
- LGBTQ+ is seen as a normal thing and accepted without much question. It’s customary for cats to introduce themselves with their pronouns included.
- Mollies can be deputies/leaders while nursing kits. The idea that they can’t is just sexism.
- Sign language is a standard skill because,,,, let’s be real,,, it’s pretty much practicality.
- Disabled cats can be warriors because the only reason they can’t is ableism.
Storyline changes:
- Tiny was found by Bluestar on her own rather than Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw. He becomes part of ThunderClan under the name of Nightpaw, and later Nightstorm.
- Rusty and Princess join ThunderClan at the same time as Firepaw and Kindlepaw. Firepaw is trans.
- Sandpaw and Dustpaw don’t bully Firepaw. However, Sandpaw is generally unpleasant because of losing her father recently, and Dustpaw is destructive and unpleasant because he and Ravenpaw were loner kits with an abusive mother before coming to ThunderClan. They both get support.
- Ravenpaw stays in the clan and earns the warrior name Ravenfeather. He has support for his anxiety and PTSD.
- Mosskit is the child of Bluestar and Thistleclaw (result of a one night stand). They are non-binary and go by they/them. They’re a ThunderClan cat and their warrior name is Mossheart. They mentor Firepaw.
- Tigerclaw is less Obviously Evil, he’s a lot more covert about his actions.
- Tigerclaw is Snowfur’s son and Whitestorm’s brother. That’s why Bluestar falls apart after that, because that was her nephew and she loved him dearly.
- WindClan doesn’t get kicked out because that’s whack and really never would have happened in any sort of realistic scenario.
- Brokenstar is less... stupid. He makes smarter decisions. Basically, instead of training young kits, he collects lots of rogue allies and wages war on the other three clans.
- Crookedstar X Bluestar instead of Oakheart X Bluestar. Because the idea of this just being a taboo subject that a lot of people kind of know about, but they’re just rumours and like as if our two clan leaders would have had an affair with each other? Gold.
- Crooked X Blue have Mistyfoot, Stonefur and Silverstream. Bluestar pretty much stares down her daughter and thinks “why did she do literally the exact same thing I did” and Silverstream’s death is the first thing that starts pushing her towards breaking.
- Stormkit and Featherkit go to RiverClan without a fight because the claim does belong to the mother’s clan regardless of circumstance. Graystripe doesn’t change clans (he can’t bring himself to leave his entire family for one that won’t trust him) but is still very much present in his kits’ lives.
- Firepaw, Kindlepaw and Graypaw stay apprentices until the end of the second book.
- Dustpelt, Ravenfeather and Sandstorm become warriors before the other three apprentices.
- Cloudtail is Ruby’s son. Ruby is leader of BloodClan (renamed “The Clowder). She couldn’t deal with having a son and leading The Clowder, so she gave him to Nightstorm instead.
- Fireheart, Kindleflame, Nightstorm and Cloudtail actually have significant family relationships.
- Cloudtail, Ashfur and Ferncloud are foster siblings and it’s relevant.
- Cloudtail, Ashfur and Ferncloud are Sandstorm’s younger siblings and it’s relevant.
- Dust X Fern is changed so that it’s less creepy.
- Snowkit lives. His warrior name is Snowcloud.
- Cinderpelt, despite being disabled, is not a medicine cat because she’s disabled. She’s a tripod (born without a leg) rather than an accident happening. She becomes a medicine cat because she wanted to be one.
- Yellowfang was originally named Murkstorm, but Brokenstar changed her name as a way to disgrace her.
- Swiftpaw is Brambleflower (Bramblestar) and Tawnypelt’s older brother and it’s relevant.
- When The Clowder comes to the forest, Ruby tries to take Cloudtail back. He declines, and ThunderClan straight-up refuses to give him up.
- Leafpool is a demigirl and Squirrelflight is agenderflux. Brambleflower and Squirrelflight have a toxic relationship (so basically canon) and eventually the truth about the three’s parents is the final straw that break’s the camel’s back. Squirrelflight gets together with Nightcloud and Brambleflower with Stormfur. Alderheart and Sparkpelt are Nightcloud and Squirrelflight’s kits.
- Squirrelflight and Crowslash (Crowfeather) have a one-night stand resulting in kits. Squirrelflight rather than Leafpool because it’s less out of nowhere. Squirrelflight doesn’t know if the three are Brambleflower’s or Crowslash’s until the kits are born and Hollykit has almost his exact coat and Jayfeather has the exact same WindClan build. Crowfeather knows upon seeing them that they’re his but keeps quiet. Brambleflower notices but blames it on coincidence. He had some doubt in the back of his mind but it’s mostly gone by the time they’re apprentices.
- OKAY SO the story behind Squirrel X Crow. Instead of Feather X Crow, Crowslash and Squirrelflight have a highly passionate affair during the great journey, before breaking it off because they’d rather stay loyal to their clans. Squirrelflight moves on with Brambleflower and Crowslash “moves on” with Nightcloud. At first, all seems well until Squirrelflight and Brambleflower have a massive fight, and she finds herself at WindClan’s border. She is met with a Crowslash who immediately moves to comfort her. They end up getting more... sexual (Crow just can’t resist his old flame). Afterwards they are both extremely ashamed and vow to never speak of this again. That is, until Squirrelflight gets pregnant...
- Lionshade (Lionblaze) becomes the medicine cat instead of Jayfeather. He’s terrified of his powers and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. He and Jay say “fuck you” to destiny.
- Hollyheart (Hollyleaf) is the third cat. Their power is persuasion. They can convince others to agree with them or do things for them. They can’t make them do anything against their morals and it might not work against a particularly strong-willed kind of cat, but they just have a kind of... charisma about them. She doesn’t die in the last hope, but near the beginning of a Vision of Shadows.
- Dovewing is the fourth cat. Her powers remain the same. She’s pressured into becoming mates with Bumblestripe by her friends, Rosepetal and Blossomfall, because he loves her. However, she feels nothing for him. She’s only ever had one crush before, and it was on Sedgewhisker, an older molly from WindClan. She finds herself more and more drawn to another friend, however... Briarlight. Briarlight listens to Dovewing without judgement and helps her find the courage to break up with Bumblestripe. The two mollies become mates not long after.
- Ivypool is pretty much the same as she was in canon but Fernsong is a bit older. Blossomfall is their other mate and they’re in a happy polyamorous relationship with their lovely kits, Bristlefrost, Flippaw, Thriftpaw, Shellfur and Plumstone.
- Thornclaw’s a single dad, his kits are Eaglewing and Stemleaf.
- Leafpool dies in the final battle of Omen of the Stars, leaving Lionshade devastated. Hollyheart also dies. Lionshade then takes on his younger half-brother, Alderheart, as his apprentice, and it becomes a really precious sibling bond.
- Shadowpaw is Tigerheart’s son with another molly (not sure who yet). He’s still the same as in canon, just not Dovewing’s son. Lightleap and Pouncestep are still Dovewing’s daughters however.
- Tigerheart never becomes leader. In fact, he STAYS. DEAD. Tawnypelt is ShadowClan’s leader instead.
And yeah that’s all I got so far should I make a separate blog and turn this into a rewrite?

Cinderheart, Icecloud, Runningwind and Silverstream?
a read more bc i wamble
CinderheartDo I like them?: oushdfyo as a kid i was the Biggest cinderpelt stan so when i saw cinderheart was cinderpelt 2.0 i lost my marbles i was so excited and i love her sm ,,
How I picture them: shes stocky and a tabby like her dad brackenfur !!! i also imagine shes got tufted ears (kinda like whitestorms!) and shes got some white markings too (a little white heart on her cheek and a white muzzle) .. her tail? literal cloud
How I would write them: i wouldnt have made her the reincarnation of cinderpelt?/ like that whole plot was just. weird and awk in my personal onion. if anything i wouldve had it like uhh sorrel named cinderheart in honor of cinderpelt for dying for these kits so cinderpelt in starclan was like “hee hee mini me :)” and just kinda visited/floated around cinderheart a lot to make sure she was doing ok ?? kinda like a guardian angel type of deal…so not reincarnated just cinderpelt likes floating down and pointing out cinderheart 2 yellowfang like “SEE they named her after ME and shes my baby now :)”((side note….in my wc rewrite au thing hollyleaf becomes leader and cinderpelt gives her a life and thats the life of friendship/companionship bc cinderpelt always admired the friendship between holly and cinder))
Unpopular Opinion: her relationship with lionblaze is really forced and bad and just. fucking boring + out of nowhere hsdfshdbhf . she shouldve dated heathertail instead :pensive:
IcecloudDo I like them?: yeah!!! its been a while since i read the books but i remember she was rlly cute and i rlly liked her when i read the books ;; im love her and fox they shouldnt have died so soon for no reason other than to thin the crowd ://
How I picture them: in my hc fernclouds trans so all over her kittens are adopted (except for..maybe birch who she found a surrogate for..) which explains why like None of her babies look like her anyways HUOY i picture icecloud as a near-solid white gal with a little red tail tip/markings on her tail and ears that are the same shade of red as her brothers!
How I would write them: i wouldnt……kill her off??? like that was a rlly dumb decision imo to kill off so many of the younger warriors bc now thunderclans all..oldies..anyways…. she was rlly cute and id love to see more interactions between her and her siblings or her ma ferncloud!!
Unpopular Opinion: i rlly dont like the ships that are like her and any of the three (like with lionblaze or hollyleaf or jayfeather or anything dhsfbsdhff) mainly bc….theyre closely related? theyre like 2nd cousins(? idk if thats the word? shes sandstorms niece so squirrel/leafs cousin and idk what that makes her and the three) and its just,. H. anyways uh
RunningwindDo I like them?: hes ok! i dont really have an opinion on him? he was just kind of there so i never really hated him or liked him a whole deal! i was upset that tiger killed him tho :^(
How I picture them: a LONG man like hes the literal exact opposite bodywise of his sister mousefur (shes like. round and stocky w round ol ears and a broad face) and then runnings just lanky weasel rat man with a snout and legs for days. hes just too damn long
How I would write them: hmmm im not sure! idk if i would change anything :”O maybe i wouldve given him more interactions with his family!!
Unpopular Opinion: not. really an unpopular opinion but uh as cute as i think runningred is for sands parents i personally prefer the hc that sandstorms half clan (for my wc au/rewrite shes half windclan!) but runningred is still cute!!
SilverstreamDo I like them?: absolutely the Fuck i Do she was one of my big time faves as a kid i wept when she died and i watched. so many silverstream amvs
How I picture them: ooo sleek and has oriental longhair features (she gets that from the windclan blood in her genes HFBHDFSD) but shes got a sturdy build and a soft belly like her dad. shes a black silver classic tabby and i honestly picture her eyes green like her pops HFDBfh
How I would write them: I WOULDNT KILL HER OFF THATS FOR SURE H!!!!!! id keep her alive and honestly i wouldve introduced her earlier on like as an apprentice when graypaw firepaw and ravenpaw r apprentices and they have this like friendly interaction going on at gatherings and stuff !!! like i wouldve integrated her into the WHOLE friend group sooner
Unpopular Opinion: uhhh i cant? rlly think of any hm… the headcanon that shes the same age as leopardstar/mistystar is fucking weird bc then shed be old enough to be graystripes mom but ive only seen that like once…

Tall x Morning
*When are you people going to realize that 1) I got something different when I read the book, 2) I don’t care what it or Kate says due to having this ship for a long time and 3) I am not changing my mind. I like Tallstar x Morningflower and I don’t support Tallstar x Jake. In my mind they have a platonic relationship, kind of like the younger bro-older bro.
If you don’t like what I do, then just leave. You are doing nothing but making fools of yourself and I am blocking any nasty comments. Be mature and accept that not all people think the same as you do, we all interprete the books differently and I will respect your shipping of Tallstar x Jake, but in return you respect my love of Tallstar x Morningflower.
Tallstar and Morningflower are mates, but they are having marital problems and Tallstar lets his gaze roam. He ends up seeking out Jake and spends much of his time with the ginger tom (I decided that Jake is not Firestar’s father, Pinestar is...and also the father of Scourge. So in this Tigerstar, Scrouge (is this even an actual word?), and Firestar are really kin).
Morningflower is aware of what is going on, and she angry and upset. Feeling that Tallstar never really loved her and only took advantage of her feelings. To punish him, Morningflower has an affair with a ShadowClan tom (Deerfoot).
Becoming pregnant, Morningflower is quiet about her relations with Deerfoot. She mated to Tallstar at the same time so there is a likely chance that he is the father.
When WindClan seeks shelter in the tunnels, Morningflower gives birth to two kittens; a she-kit and a tom. Tawnykit (later Tawnyfur) and Gorsekit (Gorsepaw).
After naming her daughter, Morningflower comes clean to Tallstar and tells him about the affair (or maybe she tells him towards the end of her pregnancy). He is shocked at first, maybe a little angry, but in the end he understands that this is partially his fault and takes responsibility for his role.
Due to some hidden NFC genes, Tawnykit was born black but her coat lightens to golden-brown.
Gorsepaw checks out genetic wise. His white spotting comes from Tallstar and he was named in honor of Sandgorse, his paternal grandfather. The ginger comes from his mother being a tortie.
When things are all said and done, Tallstar and Morningflower patch up their relationship and are deeply in love for the rest of the books, until the day Tallstar passes away. They may have a few more kits, but I am not sure who they are. The loss of Gorsepaw was hard, but they were able to be strong together.
As for Jake, he finds some love with Quince and Nutmeg, but I kind of seem him as being the typical tom who just can’t settle down with one mate.
