#happy world bipolar day to all my bp babies #(more thoughts at the end of the tags) #shameless #shamelessnet #shamelessedit #ian gallagher #cameron monaghan #*macygifs #bipolar disorder #hello pals how are we doin #i made this gif set in july of 2023 and never posted it because 1) i was terrified to share it and potentially see Bad Takes in the tags #and 2) because my hyperfixation was waning. and while both of those things are still mostly true (the fixation comes and goes) #i feel like it's really important to share as ian's bipolar storyline was not only so vital to his character it was a bit of representation #that isn't often given to the disorder and those (like myself) who live with it every single day #world bipolar day is a day where we can both celebrate ourselves and our resilience and also raise awareness of the reality of the disorder #which is both terrifying and beautiful at its core. this disease is not a death sentence or a sentence to an unfulfilled and miserable life #while there are challenges galore when it comes to balancing life with this disorder it IS possible to live a full and productive life #and i think it's really important to have representation of that in media - and while shameless dropped the ball on a LOT of storylines #over the years THIS is the one they really fucking nailed and i am incredibly grateful #i first started watching shameless while in the midst of a major depressive episode and i was later (finally) diagnosed during an extended #hypo/manic episode - this show and ian's storyline got me through so much and made me feel so seen and validated in my struggles #world bipolar day is also vincent van gogh's birthday (happy birthday buddy) who was posthumously diagnosed with bipolar disorder #and who experienced both depressive and hypo/manic episodes during his lifetime (and was regularly institutionalized) #it takes a lot of help and support to keep us going. it takes the support of our family and friends and *most* of all #it takes patience and kindness and understanding - which is so so so easy to give if you are willing to love and listen #so please. be willing. listen to our stories. be patient with us. show us love without conditions. support us in any way you can. #we are worth it #i promise #anyway. that's really all i wanted to say. happy world bipolar day to those who celebrate (me) and may all of us living with this disorder #go on to live happy fulfilling beautiful magical lives

What is a moment in Shameless that makes you crack up every single time you even think about it, even if it's not really a big joke moment? I'll start.

When JimmySteve shows back up for the third? time and they're on the street outside of Patsy's having an argument and then Fiona answers the phone and it's Mickey and JimmySteve gets so excited? 'Mickey Milkovich?! Tell him i said hi!' like on the one hand what the fuck JimmySteve? read the room you piece of shit. But on the other hand it is so unexpected and the delivery is so pure, it gets me every time.

Anyone ever think about how Ian literally had to watch Carl live out his dreams of going to military school and becoming a public servant (while Ian never dreamed of becoming a police officer all his dream jobs were civil service related) and still decided to help him achieve those dreams anyway. Practicing running with him everything and celebrating his victories. I wonder if Ian feels sad when he looks at how far Carl has come thinking about what and who he could've been but also if he sometimes vicariously lives through Carl that maybe the reason he's so adamant about making sure Carl succeeds is because he feels like it's too late for him and so he doesn't want someone he lives as much as Carl to experience that same kind of disappointment.

These days I am rather fond of the idea of "so what if it was cringe, at least you did the thing instead of regretting not doing it because you cared too much about what other people thought of you when in fact they never thought that much of you at all, and if they did get obsessively hateful towards you that says more about them than it says about you". Do the thing. Be cringe about it. Enjoy doing things that don't hurt you or others even if they aren't the picture perfect idea of success and achievement. Turn off your brain a little and allow yourself to have some fun just for the sake of it because life is truly about enjoying the present, even when it's not ideal.

In an attempt to preserve my comics, fandom art, and such and the love, effort, and fun I had while creating it, I've been uploading these digital collections for anyone to download ... because I don't see the point of having them buried in my PC catching virtual dust or subject to the nonsense-of-the-week that social media has going more often each time.

And so, I upload them to my Ko-fi shop for free/or on a pay-what-you-want basis.

What I create is for people, not for training software or giving random companies money. I firmly believe that art is only completed when it has a public and that you, dear reader, have an active role in completing a story by experiencing it. So these are for all the fans too, y'all make this house a home.

And if you ask yourself "Why get the PDF? " I have a couple of reasons:

I put a lot of effort into making some panels and details better, and the comics have fewer typos than the version I posted.

With the way social media deletes things randomly, I really don’t want these comics to disappear into the internet void… This is the best way I have to preserve them and for you all to enjoy them without having to print them.

Extra content! Since I develop ideas for YEARS, I like curating and organizing my ideas/drawings so the whole project feels cohesive, has some behind-the-scenes process, and looks rad af.

I don't like putting fanart behind a paywall but I'm not gonna lie, sometimes getting paid for a bit of hard work is rewarding and any tip means a lot to me. That's why these are up in a pay-what-you-want

Look, I dislike the thought of Mickey being romantically with a dude other than Ian as much as the next guy, BUT I have to admit that I wish he got another relationship in the show. Hear me out. Every single aspect of Mickey's life was ultimately defined by Ian. Every single plot line he had was around his and Ian's relationship, maybe except for his pimp era. Think about it. Him going to juvie, him going to prison vol.1, him impregnating and ultimately marrying Svetlana, him going to prison vol.2, him escaping from prison, him going to prison vol.3 and the list goes on. His entire life after he meets Ian is completely centered around him. I think that they should have given us something more. Like Ian had Caleb and Trevor and, as much of a Gallavich fan as I am, I did enjoy Ian experiencing life, you know. Mickey should have been given the opportunity for character development in that way. He was his own autonomous person and character and we should have seen him functioning without Ian way more than we did. Having said all that, of course Ian and Mickey would return to each other, but now having more experience and personal growth. I don't know I would have enjoyed that I guess.
