I now have an image of The Deep/Lamplighter/Octopuss and I'm not sure I needed that. But I do like the duality of a water and fire ship, so I'm with you on that one my friend <3

LMAO! Lamplighter would be shocked for like a second before going "wait you're telling me the squid is actually into it? Okay fine you sick kinky fuck, count me in" and Deep would be like "she's an octopus not a squid :\" and Lamplighter goes "potato potato babe" while watching a sea creature enthusiastically go down on his teammate with benefits/boyfriend(?) 😂😂

And yess at the water & fire thing, love that particular aspect of them haha. Also the fact that they both did some horrible, unforgivable shit but you can't help but feel for them too, on some level, partly because they're pretty pathetic people and ultimately not very impressive supes. 😆 They can be horrible and lame together haha

Oh and if anyone sees this and is interested, reading this delightful fic made me an even bigger Lamplighter/Deep fan (no animals involved in a sexy way 😆): Equilibrium.

Last song: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Whitney Houston. (It was on the radio while I was driving to the gym)

Favourite colour: I really like pink and blue. :) Probably blue more, I use it in a lot of my art.

Currently watching: A livestream of people playing modded Lethal Company. As I type this. They added in mods that make horrible loud noises.

Last movie/tv show: Last movie was the 1970 stop motion animated film- Santa Claus is Comin' to Town by Rankin Bass. TV show was a true crime thing but i cannot remember the name now because it was on in the background while I frosted cookies and I was not paying attention.

Spicy/savoury/sweet: I am a cheese addict, so probably savory first, then sweet. I'm finding that I like sweets less as I get older, though. I like some spice, but I am unfortunately cursed by white people genetics and can't handle really spicy foods. They taste good, but do not agree with my tummy AT ALL.

Relationship status: Single and not really looking to change that.

Current obsession: uhhhhhhh.... Venom? Yeah, definitely Venom- Symbrock, specifically. Love me some gooey losers in love. And Sonic the Hedgehog? And, uhhhh Baldur's Gate 3 even though I can't play the game on my old, dinky, little laptop.

Last thing you googled: Showtimes for Godzilla Minus One and showtimes for The Boy and the Heron. I haven't gotten to watch the latter yet, but hopefully soon! Godzilla was really good! Go see it!

1. Are you named after anyone? I'm not, but I was given my maternal grandmother's initials.

2. When was the last time you cried? Like, half an hour ago, lol.

3. Do you have kids? Nope.

4. What sports do you play/have you played? I played softball in elementary school (I was dreadful) and ran track & field in middle school (until my ortho made me stop)... but my true sports were swimming and riding (horses). I have never been good at team/contact sports, but swimming is still my happy place... which is good because it's the only sport I can still do, lol.

5. Do you use sarcasm? Who, me?! Never 🙄

6. What’s the first thing you notice about someone? Usually, the first thing I notice is their energy/presence and how they interact with their environment and other people. What vibes am I getting from them, you know? In terms of physical attributes: I pay the most attention to eyes, expressive eyebrows, interesting noses, and voices. (Also: BUTTS, lol... and facial hair on men)

7. What’s your eye color? Green with central heterochromia (a ring of amber surrounded by a ring of green). Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, and Jensen Ackles are my eye twins.

Me at parents- so what if your child has an attitude- so fucking what - you are rude to them all the fucking time and you have bad days and you get angry or annoyed why is your child not allowed the same courtesy

I always HATED that as a kid. Yelling at me for having an attitude, shockingly, only served to either make me more upset or make me fucking cry

“Sheltered in Place” is a beautifully braided exploration of memory (or the loss of), quarantine (or resilience), and place (historical “shelters”). Giroux interlaces the natural world, the made world, and the spirit world, crafting each strand around the passing of time into non-time where we are suspended and ultimately sheltered. These poems and prose-poems, gently embroidered with human failings and tenderness, never lose their heart-felt love of the world and its inhabitants. A chapbook shouldn’t be this all-encompassing, but it is. Oh, it is.
