Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman to Lead 'War of the Roses' Remake

So Matthew Greenfield at Searchlight is dirty...BEYOND dirty. No comment on Olivia Colman as of yet, but we all know now that actors and actresses usually have NO SAY I'm the projects they're currently put in. This film should not be made. It's another horrible, cruel joke to play on the fans of Benedict Cumberbatch and the people pushing it are on the same level as that jackal Jay Z and the NFL This is pure, sick, Freemason, ancient bullshit. Also, how is it this project is STILL in development, when it's BEEN in development since 2017?

And Benedict, if you go along with this project, it will be revealed to the public that you are going along with your own public humiliation, in order to enrich human traffickers.

On her variety interview she said after all too well short film her next project won't be romantic or smtg and then they started talking abt the other directors movie which is like centered around friendship and with her getting advice from Guillermo del Toro and how he mentioned that they ended up talking abt fairytales and such it could be either of those two or not those at all. P.S. I have been trying to connect the dots to find out what genre her movie is gonna be since the news came out to no avail as you can see.

i do think she is inspired by GDT, but i don’t think she’s gonna make a fully fantasy land movie. maybe some inspiration and elements from that world. and even if she does make a fantasy movie, i just can’t imagine the protagonist not being a woman who is coming into her own. i don’t think it’ll be a teenager-coming-of-age, but instead a grown woman coming-of-age.

'Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers won Film of the Year and LGBTQ Film of the Year honors from the Dorian Film Awards, the annual honors bestowed GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.

The Searchlight drama starring Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal as two troubled souls who fall for each other in lonely London, also scored a leading third win, LGBTQ Screenplay of the Year, for Haigh’s script. It led all nominees this year with nine.

“Twelve years ago, Andrew Haigh’s fresh and observant queer romance Weekend ruled our Dorians as well,” GALECA president Walt Hickey said Monday in revealing the awards. “So the fact that Strangers obviously touched many of our members’ hearts as well counts as sort of a sweet homecoming to our organization.”...

The Walt Disney Company To Acquire Final Stake On Hulu From Comcast As Will Merge Hulu and Disney+ In To One Add On App On Q3 2023.

Bob Iger, on the earnings call, said “it has not really been fully determined” what will happen with Hulu but he said that it’s clear that the content on Disney+ combined with “general entertainment content” is a very strong proposition. “So where we are headed is for one experience, with general entertainment content on Disney+,” he said, declining to predict how the negotiations for Hulu will turn out. To date, Disney has had “constructive” talks with Comcast about the future of Hulu, according to Iger.

Starting in January 2024, Disney can require Comcast to sell its stake in Hulu (and Comcast can force the sale).

On Disney’s earnings call Wednesday, CEO Bob Iger said the company will soon launch a “One-app experience” in the U.S. that incorporates Hulu content into Disney+. The new combined offering will launch by the end of 2023, available to customers who subscribe to both streaming services”, he said.“While we will continue to offer Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ as standalone options, this is a logical progression of our [direct-to-consumer] offerings that will provide greater opportunities for advertisers while giving bundle subscribers access to more robust and streamlined content, resulting in greater audience engagement and ultimately leading to a more unified streaming experience,” Iger said.

Hunter Switch

A northbound train roars up the hill out of Bloomington, Indiana, on the Louisville & Nashville, former Monon. The lead unit is a General Electric U28B built for the L&N in 1966.

The Hoosier Line was known for their semaphore signals, but this location had searchlights as long as I was around.

"A Kongo-class battleship (possibly Kongo herself, based on the searchlight positions) illuminates the night sky from a variety of tower, stack, and mast-mounted searchlight positions in this 1930s postcard. Searchlights were crucial for fighting at night before the advent of radar, and as a result the massive lamps could also, in some cases, be director controlled to stay on target. The unfortunate drawback of searchlights was that they provided a brilliant point of aim for the opponent, and their operation - plus the flashes from gun muzzles - tended to blind the operators temporarily. Nevertheless, Japan relied heavily on them well into the 2nd World War."

Empire of Light by Sam Mendes - Magic & Cinema

The promotion is finally starting for the newest film by Sam Mendes (1917, Skyfall), Empire of Light, and it just looks magical.

Love, Cinema, starring Olivia Colman, Micheal Ward, Toby Jones, Colin Firth, and Empire of Light will be released in the UK on the 13th of January. It will have its European premiere at the BFI London Film Festival (American Express Gala) on the 12th of October 2022.
