The Owl House Ending Anniversary Livestream

These are the notes I’ve taken from The Owl House anniversary stream, just the stuff related to the show (though there was a hilarious anecdote from Sarah about having a theater light shine on her bald spot while attending an acting school);

For the finale, the VAs (and Dana and Eden) got to record voice work together for the first time since the covid lockdown. Sarah scream-cried and sobbed right after finishing the final lines for Luz. The recording occurred a few months before the finale aired.

Zeno revealed that anime dub voice directors usually want a different direction for voice acting than with western animation, but when Zeno did a take for Hunter that he thought might’ve sounded too anime, everyone else was in full approval. From there, Zeno approached Hunter as the “anime emo boy” or “Sasuke” of the show, going for an “eastern anime edgy feel.” Sarah thought this fit given how much Hunter is trying; Zeno feels Hunter wears his emotions on his sleeves no matter how cool he tries to be.

Hunter would 100% be an anime fan and be obsessed with anime conventions in the human realm. Eden mentioned that Dana took a lot of anime inspiration when doing segments such as fight scenes or character power-ups, with Luz’s Titan form being based on Pokemon evolution.

When voicing Lilith, Cissy would pull from her memories of her aunt Kim in translating the “fun, goofy” energy, and she normally does this for other fun aunt/maternal roles. Elizabeth Grullon brought in parts of her culture and ancestry when doing Camila, as per the advice of her late mentor Ken Washington.

If the VAs could hang out with their characters for one day: Eden would take Boscha to therapy, and all of the VAs agreed, with Zeno ready to pay for Hunter’s (“The credit card will NOT decline”). Cissy would have a ride on Mike Socks. Elizabeth would visit the Demon Realm with Camila, get some drinks in her, make some arroz con pollo and tostones, put on some salsa music, and just vibe out. Sarah would also visit the Demon Realm with Luz, and wherever Luz likes to hang out; Maybe a beach day.

Cissy thinks Lilith would go full-nerd when visiting the human realm, having a notebook and pen and going mad as she’s scribbling everything down. She’d stop people on the street to ask if they’ve had apple blood, and be an absolute menace, people would be freaking out.

Pulling from themselves, Avi thinks Raine would meet things with a little bit of caution, having lots of disinfectant wipes, and eventually get comfortable, freely exploring without inhibition.

Eden imagines Boscha would thrive in the human world, since there’s so many gullible people she could trick into being her followers. She’d either use the third eye for attention, or grow bangs/wear a beanie to hide it. Cissy joked that Boscha would run for president and win in a landslide, which is a bad idea because she’d have too much power at her fingertips.

When it comes to Camila exploring the demon realm once everything’s cooled down, Elizabeth thinks she’d be a bit skeptical, but eventually relax, have some apple blood, kick back and make some friends… And then be ready to go back. Not an overnight stay, just a brief visit.

Cissy was proudest of her performance as Lilith was “Why were you so easy to curse?!” in Agony of a Witch. For Zeno it was Thanks to Them, he felt it was a closed circle for Hunter; He enjoyed balancing various Hunter elements like the Golden Guard role, and the catharsis with Luz right afterwards. He’s glad it was vulnerable and open, wanting his performance to be honest and realistic. For Elizabeth it was Camila reacting to various Demon Realm segments such as Belos, or preparing to fight Kikimora.

Eden liked Boscha’s arc in For the Future, how it came full-circle when she helped the resistance because she didn’t mean real harm and just wanted things to go back to normal. For Sarah it was the ending of Yesterday’s Lie where Luz promises to stay in the human realm, she found it heartbreaking how it was Luz’s two worlds colliding; Sarah couldn’t wait to see the episode in its entirety. Raine was Avi’s first voice-acting role for animation, and they summoned the ‘guttural response’ to free themselves when doing the possession scene with Belos in the finale.

Luz’s favorite human realm drink is coffee or matcha due to her ADHD, the caffeine can help her focus, “turn Demon Realm,” but is also helpful for a nap. Sarah often brings large drinks into the studio, and described her performance as Luz as a cold brew, plus a giant gallon of water, plus some tea with honey after she’s done screaming.

Hunter would like Red Bulls and go crazy with the energy. He’d apply Demon Realm mentality by believing Red Bull’s “gives you wings” advertisements, and write a letter to management demanding a refund when this doesn’t literally happen.

Camila would love café bustelo, it’s a big Latina drink and was introduced to Elizabeth by her mom. The 4pm kind brings you to life and it’s the time for tias to gossip.

Boscha is either a giant slurpee girl, or popping boba, because her third eye gives Boscha an inclination towards eye aesthetics. Plus Boscha could spit boba at people through her straw, which led to Sarah joking about Luz and Hunter walking in bespeckled with boba (“No Hunter, they do not give you wings”).

Lilith would like pina colada, she’d think it’s the cool thing that everyone drinks, what with there being a whole song about it. Then she’d drink it and go on a tangent about how her mom never loved her, and Luz would ask her in concern how many she’s had. Lilith would collect several of the parachutes in her hair.

Raine has a sensitive stomach, so they’re into kombucha and brew their own.

(Fun fact; The group realized the eclipse was happening during the livestream and had a discussion over how to protect your eyes when watching it!)

Rebecca Rose herself sent a question, asking what they think a palisman would taste like. They joked that Matthew Rhys was NOT here, and Dana apparently headcanons that palismen essence tastes like gushers. Zeno and Sarah joked that Belos has a sweet tooth and he’s obsessed because he left the human realm before they invented gushers. It never even occurred to Eden that palisman essence would have a flavor, it’d just be an energy boost, like pipe tobacco (and Sarah added this was appropriate because palismen are made of wood). Yesterday was Rebecca’s birthday and the VAs wished her a happy one.

Zeno’s favorite quality about Hunter is his loyalty and dedication; When he sets his sights on something, he’s pretty relentless. He has a really deep well of complexity in him, half is angst but the other half is real heart.

Elizabeth loves how Camila loves her kid so much that she’s willing to step past herself and her own limitations, her own fears and comfort zone, to connect with and support Luz. Sarah noted it’s like Camila is learning to be a kid again with her arc.

Boscha doesn’t have a ton of great character traits, but she’s a strong athlete, doesn’t give up, and is powerful; Eden admires that about her, she’s badass. Everything else about her though…

Sarah likes how Luz doesn’t have an ego; Yes she’s unapologetically herself and doesn’t know any other way, but when she messes up, she has no problem taking the blame and apologizing. She’ll own up to things and fix them. Though it was misguided, Luz was even willing to let go of everything she loved to make up for letting down the Demon Realm and protect everyone. It’s not easy to put aside your own wants and needs sometimes and apologize, accepting that you’re wrong.

Lilith had a lot of faults, but her willingness to admit her own wrongdoing and go into the depths of her soul to figure out how to be better; Such as being a better auntie/sister, forgiving her parents, etc. She had a lot of growing up to do, and Cissy felt Dana gave Lilith such a beautiful way to go about that.

Avi was glad to see Raine have stage fright and awkwardness/shyness in public and with social settings, but they can transform by stepping into this fierce protector/hero role, and find that confidence. It’s a multi-faceted character, a full human experience, and felt genuine to Avi.

When asked if Boscha ever said sorry to Willow and Luz, Eden joked that love means never having to say sorry; Boscha probably skipped over that. Assumed she already said it at some point, the others just have bad memory. I’m sure they know, I helped them. I didn’t kill them and they’re still alive, so clearly…!

The hardest episode to record was Thanks to Them for Zeno, the VAs had to take a break. It was already cathartic and then Hunter didn’t even get a break afterwards, plus Zeno had the knowledge of the show ending. For Elizabeth it was the finale due to the sadness of the show being over, but otherwise there was nothing hard for her because the experience was a dream come true; She was in pure joy when in the booth. Even when Camila was crying or saying goodbye, it was still fun for Elizabeth. But when she herself is saying goodbye, that’s when it’s hard for her.

Eden also agreed on the finale due to how long it was (and she accounted for her role as voice director as well), mentioning how the episode was the culmination of so much, there was a lot of ground to cover, etc. It was so emotional how everyone brought so much, saying goodbye together as a cast. Not to mention the catharsis/closure of stamping Belos to death together.

Sarah concurred, it was meta saying goodbye to the show and each other. But she also found Reaching Out hard, due to Luz’s complex emotions, her coming in and out a lot. She’s dealing with a great loss, and Sarah wanted to honor that grief, but also had Luz masking it, popping up, acting out, and needed to choose how/when to let that emotion come out. The grief wasn’t super-fresh, it comes in waves, and it was in that state where some are in shock or others cry; You never know when it’ll strike, when it’ll put you on edge. So Reaching Out was hard to map out for Sarah, especially with Luz just popping up to do one weird thing and then going away. It was a lot of fun, and workwise it was a lot of pressure to get it right.

Cissy also had the finale, with the switch from Lilith making amends to being terrible again in the dream sequence being jarring. There was also Agony of a Witch, as the landing needed to be stuck to make the episode work; But Eden and Dana were there for the recording session to help.

Avi had Follies at the Coven Day Parade, when Eda and Raine had their duel. Avi really had to tap into being angry and mad at someone they care so much about.

If Elizabeth could give advice to any character, it’s for Boscha to go to therapy. Sarah tells Lilith to stand still and feel her feelings, you poor beautiful witch. Avi tells everyone to not be so hard on yourself. Cissy, to all (especially teenagers): It gets better, you think you know everything and you think you have the weight of your world on your hands (and tbf that was the case), but it gets better. Eden would tell Hunter to take a day off, take a nap. Zeno would tell everyone to do the same, it’s okay to let go. Eden would also advise Eda to lay off the law-breaking, Sarah said not to start her day with apple blood (save it for happy hour).

Sarah’s favorite Hooty moment was the tea party, and how he would be haunted by his actions forever in Adventures in the Elements. Cissy loved Hooty and Lilith’s friendship, “No witch is an island!” Eden loves the first appearance of Port-a-Hooty, it had her in stitches the first time she saw it; There was sheer terror knowing he could travel. Sarah loved Hooty’s off-screen attack by Amity. For Zeno, it was two guards struggling to describe Hooty. Elizabeth concurred with everyone, and Avi liked it when Hooty just ate things and sometimes ruined a situation because of it. Cissy brought up Hooty’s skeleton bathing.

In de-aged Max universe, does Daniel take little Max on any little field trips, like to the zoo or... other places children enjoy(?)

Well, Sarah, what an excellent question. Because Daniel DOES take Max on little field trips.

(this link shows the stuff I’ve already posted in chronological order if the tag isn't working. But anyway, this bit follows directly on from this part about nightlights, and we're leaving the Max gets even smaller part out in the wild for a bit)

Max is not sure about the zoo.

He likes his book of animal facts, and he's followed Daniel around the flat laboriously reading out facts about sharks after Daniel had admitted he was scared of them. It's a good thing Daniel hadn't admitted to his actual fear of dogs, otherwise Max in his guise as Daniel's Greatest Protector would have done nothing for the past few days but try to learn nice things about dogs to make Daniel less scared. Max has decided there is only one reason he has been put here on this earth, and it is to stand steadfast between Daniel and ever present danger.

It would be adorable if it wasn't coming close to breaking Daniel's fucking heart.

Every night when it starts to get dark, Max takes Daniel's hand and they carefully go and turn on all the nightlights; the one in the bathroom and the one in the hallway and the one in Daniel's bedroom. They put the lamps on in the living room and the light on in the kitchen. They make sure the doors are all open so that the lights bleed from one room to another. Max takes it very, very seriously. He tells Daniel that it is okay that it is a bit dark because Max is here to hold his hand and the lights will be on soon.

He won't admit to being scared himself. He still won't allow a nightlight in his bedroom because he's scared of the dark.

He will, however, allow a nightlight in his bedroom if he thinks it's because Daniel is scared to come in. They picked one out yesterday with stars and planets and moons. The lights will project onto the ceiling and there's a setting where you can pick the colour. Max would only allow Daniel to order it if Daniel promised Max he wasn't scared of stars and the sky.

It turns out that Daniel admitting that grown ups can be scared of things has turned Max's world upside down, and Daniel's half-convinced he's fucked him up. That morning they'd read Max's book of Pokemon facts and Max had tucked his hand into Daniel's and told him very seriously that Charmander was coming up and Daniel must not be too scared because it was only a picture and Charmander's tail wasn't really on fire and Charmander was very nice and, anyway, Max was holding his hand.

Max's solid and unyielding belief in the power of holding Daniel's hand is fucking destroying Daniel. He'd ended up desperately texting his mum and dad to find out if pretending to be scared of the dark and of sharks and of a fucking Pokemon had fucked his kid up or not.

They'd suggested getting out of the house for the day and doing something fun. Daniel half-suspected that was for his benefit as well as Max's; he doesn't interrogate it too deeply.

So, in the morning: the zoo.

Max is dubious.

They've driven down the coast, away from Monaco and its Royal Menagerie to find somewhere a bit bigger and with more animals.

"What if you are scared, Daniel?" Max asks, from the back seat of Daniel's car. Daniel does not investigate too closely if Max is talking about himself, or about Daniel. Or both. Fear is at the forefront of Max's mind this week, and Daniel does not particularly want to think too much about Max's childhood the first time around, and the things Max won't admit to being scared of. Maybe every kid goes through a phase of being scared all the time.

"Well," Daniel says, "if me and you are scared of an animal, we can go and look at another animal. Or we can go somewhere and do some colouring." He's got a backpack with a colouring book and Max's pencils. Max was worried about losing them if they took them out of the house, so Daniel's going to buy them another pack of pencils so Max's home pencils are safe. Max worries about a lot of things. "Or we can see if there's a zookeeper we can ask our questions to."

Max has questions. He has brought his animal book.

"Will the animals be able to get us?" Max asks.

"No, baby," Daniel says. "They've got —" he searches for a word that isn't cages. "Enclosures. And that's their house, and it'll have everything that they need and like. Like in your bedroom with your Pikachu toy, except they don't have a Pikachu."

"They should," Max says stubbornly. "Pikachu's the best."

"He is," Daniel agrees. "We can find out what's special about their houses. And I'm going to pretend to be a monkey." He makes a monkey noise, and then another one, and Max creases up in giggles. He makes a very silly noise back. God, Daniel loves him.

"I am going to hold your hand," Max says, in satisfaction. "In case you are scared, Daniel."

"Thank you," Daniel says, very seriously. "And I'm going to hold your hand, Maxy-Max, in case you're scared."

"I'm not scared," Max says, but he sounds a little uncertain. "Is there a shark, Daniel? Because sharks are very nice."

"I don't think so. But there's a camel. And monkeys. And—" he struggles to think of a single other animal, despite having been on the fucking website this morning. "Cats."

In the rear view mirror, Max is looking at him wearing the exact same expression he wears as a grown up when a journalist has said something particularly stupid. "Cats."

"Cats," Daniel agrees. "And we'll have a picnic. It'll be fun, won't it?"

Max does not look entirely convinced. That's the face of someone who's just realised that maybe tomato soup and bread and butter isn't on the lunchtime menu like normal.

Anyway, Daniel's got some unfucking to do. Max is going to have a fun day and not feel like he has to protect Daniel from clear and present danger.

Max's day at the zoo goes like this:

The camel makes the stupidest fucking noises in the world getting up off the floor. Max thinks this is the funniest thing he's ever heard in his life. He makes Daniel pretend to be a camel five times in a row.

A goat tries to eat his hair. Max cries. Daniel stands between Max and the goats as the zookeeper tries to explain to Max in broken English that Max's hair must look like a very nice meal. Max is not convinced.

Daniel gets Max a set of giraffe ears on a headband. Max wears them for a solid 26 seconds. Daniel wears them for the rest of the day, and Max beams at him.

They go to the morning otter feeding session and Max loves it so much that they go back to the one in the afternoon too. Daniel has to try and translate the information board into English so that Max can learn about Asian short clawed otters and he proclaims them the best animal in the zoo and maybe the world. Apart from the Jimmy or Sassy cats.

They are in the reptile house for about half a second. Daniel does not mind the abrupt way Max says no and turns back around again. He doesn't like them either.

Lunch is miserable because there's no soup and Max wants soup. The bread and butter isn't the same as the bread at home. He doesn't want fries because it's not dinner time. Max likes his routine. Next time Daniel is buying a fucking thermos flask and bringing lunch from home.

Max carefully learns to take pictures with Daniel's camera. There are wobbly pictures of blurry meerkats and a zebra and the pool where the otters live. Maybe Daniel will get him a camera of his own.

Max holds Daniel's hand tightly by the gorillas.

The leopards look like the Jimmy or Sassy cats. Max is amazed.

In the shop at the end of the day, they buy a colouring book and a stuffed otter and a postcard that they can pin on their fridge at home. Daniel gives in and has a stupid, overpriced picture taken in the stupid animal photo booth. Max picks the animals they'll have in their background, and Daniel buys three copies - one for Max's room, one for his, and a smaller one to put in his wallet, Daniel groaning like a camel in the picture and Max laughing at him like it's the best thing he's ever seen.

Max falls asleep on the way back to Monaco. Daniel props the little wallet sized picture up on the central console.

When they get home, the stars and moon nightlight's been delivered. Daniel sets it up in Max's bedroom while Max reads an otter fact page on the iPad, new stuffed otter sitting pride of place on his pillow.

Daniel doesn't realise he's still wearing the giraffe headband until he's halfway through brushing his teeth.

Max sleeps through the night.

togekiss are predators?! i thought they were all fluffy and cute and love the pure of heart stuff

Well i mean, why can't they be all of those things? I mean I think she's pretty fluffy and cute. She also loves to punch things so hard they simply stop living.

The face of a murderer.

Really though, the dietary habits of Togekiss are really interesting. While they can eat berries and some plants like their prevoloutions mostly did, it actually makes up a relatively small part of their diets once fully evolved. It's not all that widely known though, since they're relatively rare and most people look at the fact they don't have claws like a lot of bird pokemon do and assume they aren't capable of hunting. Oh how wrong they are.

But Sarah, you ask me, Sarah if they don't have claws how do they hunt? Don't bird pokemon usually need talons for that? Well normally yes, but you see Togekiss has developed an entirely different style of hunting! You see, most bird pokemon have to be relatively light to carry themselves through the air, relying on things like updrafts and aerodynamics for flight. Well, Togekiss supplements that with the Fairy type energy that they naturally generate, meaning that togekiss are MUCH MUCH HEAVIER than almost any other bird pokemon.

Now what does this have to do with hunting? Well you see, as one may guess from the not having talons, Togekiss can't learn claw type attacks. Do you know what it can learn? Drain punch. Rock smash. Brick break. Focus punch. Do you see what I'm getting at here? You heard right, Togekiss hunt by balling up their little fists, dropping out of the sky at top speed, and PUNCHING THEIR PREY TO DEATH.

It's absolutely incredible to watch. Almost instantaneous too, breaks their spine on impact, probably a more humane way to go than most predators give, and I've seen her take down prey as big as an adult male Sawsbuck! None of this negates the other points though. Togekiss are still sweet, friendly pokemon that require positive energy and peace in their lives to thrive, and I don't know about pure of heart or whatever but they sure do have a way of telling if someone has good intentions at the end of everything.

Aaaaanyways there's your Togekiss lesson for the day. Hope ya learned someting.

Greetings beings of Rotomblr. My name is Alwin, and it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

I’m I was a Wyverian from Rutoh Village in Alcala region. My age is almost three centuries old, if I recall correctly. Not that my age matters. My pronouns are he/him.

I’ve been in this world for some time, almost a century and a half. Enough time so that I’ve watched my chosen’s descendants come and go. I don’t know why Arceus took me from my own home (and my universe, if He is to be believed), or why He’s commanded me to be His right hand, but won’t disobey. It would be too much of a risk.

I have a few disciples, but I’m not willing to share any of their names currently.

Even after all this time, I still do not understand my other form. Since Arceus informed me that I am the only two-formed being from another universe in our universe, He gifted me this odd device. He told me that here I may communicate with people from other universe and ask for assistance without risk to my identity here.

I hope to speak with you all more personally soon! Perhaps you can help me with my situation.

Alwin comes from the universe of Monster Hunter. Themes of both human and animal?(/pokemon/monster/monstie) violence and death will all be present. It won’t be a main feature of the blog, unlike other tws here, but it is part of the “lore”.

There are also heavy religious themes, both Christian and otherwise. (Think Greek mythology.) If this makes you uncomfortable, this is not the blog for you. Alwin will constantly speak of being afraid of Arceus.

Studyblr re-intro!

Hiya! I'm Mai (she/her) - I created my studyblr years ago to hold myself accountable for being productive and not slacking off with my studying. But I've not touched this account in years now so that's about how well that's gone.

I'm twenty one years old from the UK, and I'm in my second year of an English Literature degree. I can't lie, part of the reason I evaporated off your dashboard is because uni's been really hard. There are more tears, procrastination, breakdowns over the uncertainty of the future, hours scrolled through tiktok, stress meals eaten, and feelings of complete and utter displacement than I think people on studyblr let on. Going forward, I think I'm going to try to be more authentic (cringe sorry) and maybe that'll make me want to post more and in turn (we can only hope) be more productive.

I've also been trying to learn French since Lockdown, but am very much still a beginner (can just about order a meal), so if any langblr people wanna be friends I'm down to follow each other on Duolingo :) I say this but I've not been on Duolingo since the summer.

I love reading! Just not the stuff for my course - my favs are anything by Nabokov, Still Life by Sarah Winman, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, A Little Life by Hanya Yanighara, and probably a lot more than what springs to mind

One of my greatest passions in life is writing, hence why you should also follow maiwritesstuff. Not that I ever post on there either, but you can follow and then eagerly await my comeback

I love cooking!!! And baking!!! And one of the greatest freedoms of uni is getting to cook what I want when I want without having to battle with my younger brother for use of the kitchen. I also live RIGHT next to big tesco which is where most of my money goes :(

I'm currently procrastinating finishing an essay that's due tomorrow hahahahahaha

I'm boring and have nothing else to say :(

OOOooOoo exceptional sticker haul~! Do you have a sticker book for all those stickers? (Also can we see a few of your favourites?)

I put stickers in hard covered blank paged notebooks, big and puffy stickers go to big plank paged notebooks, and if the sticker sheet itself is pretty or somehow special (like New Year zodiac stickers from Japan), they go to a big storage box under my bed.

As a new addition, I got from 100 yen shop a small transparent case with a lid for stickers which have small sheet I want to save but which might bend if I put them into a sticker box. For example, the official Pokemon stickers I bought from a Pokemon Center went to this case.

I've never counted my sticker books but there has to be 25-30 of them. Here are some of my faves.

My very first sticker book (left), received as a gift when I turned 9, and my current sticker book (right(, with a famous Finnish painting (Taistelevat metsot, Ferdinand von Wright, 1886). It's a bit hard to find hard cover notebooks with blank pages, so guestbooks have turned out to be an excellent choice. The very first sticker book has scented pages and it still has a scent, decades later! Some of my most treasured stickers are in it.

This is one of hand made books just for my stickers by @sarahfogg. If you need hand made sturdy notebooks, contact Sarah! Sarah's books have saved me from many troubles of trying to find a good book for stickers.

Some cute Miao Miao Club items were available when I was young, so these Miao Miao Club (a Korean series???) are very precious to me. I've always loved cute stuff.

Now, this is a bit unique book. This is Japanese Goshuin book. Buddhist temples sell stamps as souvenirs people can buy. These stamps are called Goshuin. My friends in Japan collect goshuin, and they got me this from Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine, with a goshuin. It features the three legged crow, which was said to guide Japan's first emperor Jinmu and his people to Nara through the forests of Kumano.

Now, the books isn't very big but it's sort of heavy. I try to avoid carrying anything extra to Japan so I'm contemplating if I should turn this book into a sticker book in the future. I haven't decided yet.

people being upset over illegal pokemon, like lance’s dragonite, annoys me. because like. it makes perfect sense in universe. Do you really think lance, the champion for several years, would have a dragonair. Do you really think he’d be going all out with like level 80s (which he probably has) on a 10 year old (only to be greatly mistaken)

((I'm going to pretend this is an in-character ask saying this in a way that makes sense in context, as that's how the cataloguer would receive the information. I don't plan to stop making the map, I just haven't done a lot recently because I had to study for the [insert whatever word refers to a four month period because google isn't helping]'s finals. For the tumblr and rotomblr thing, it depends. I've seen snomblr interact with rotomblr, so I could theoretically add them as if they were from a universe with access to both tumblr and rotomblr in the same app or something. In this case, unless I haven't read something correctly, it seems like your blog just talks about your characters and does things not related to them (I can't fully know until I look at those blogs, which I'll do after the ooc stuff), so I wouldn't add it.))

Shippy stuff below

Sarah and Chili go well together because their both energetic and fun loving. Sarah really likes Chili's fiery personality, and Chili likes her energy and how she seems to light up during pokemon battles. The two would probably have a lot of fun together when interacting and getting to knw one another and how to communicate together. Zephyr is a jokester, and a goof, but he's also very laid, so I think he and Cress would get along. Cress is used to jokesters and poeple with high energy since his older brother is like that, but would probably appreciate someone who knows when to turn down the energy for a more relaxed time together. While I hc that Cilan is gay as hell, I still think he and Prima would like eachother. Cilan is defiantly very layback, and is someone with a moutain of interests, so he would like someone he could talk to about interests and such. Prima is similar, she likes talking to people and learning more about them, and especial loves talking about dancing, but still likes hearing about others hobbies, since theres always more to learn.

Post-Hoot for Reaching Out!

In light of August 22nd, or as I like to call it, Reaching Out Day -the exact day and year in which Reaching Out canonically takes place- I thought I’d go over some lore-related bits regarding the Post-Hoot for Reaching Out, as well as any additional details that caught my fancy!

Firstly, our new art director Andy Garner-Flexner suggested that Amity could totally exploit her voice modulation spell from the start of the episode to impersonate Alador for school calls, and have ‘him’ call someone a butthead. Personally speaking, I doubt Al would either notice nor care for the damaged social reputation.

Sarah Nicole-Robles was a big fan of Edric’s storyline this episode, the idea of being an awkward tween who doesn’t feel like they fit in, trying to find their niche; To her it’s a very universal thing that resonates with a lot of people, and Sarah felt it deserved attention and appreciation by fans as well!

This is mostly an observation/speculation by the VAs, but they did notice that Lilith’s gem from her S1 outfit resembles the concealment stones…

According to his VA, if Warden Wrath had a favorite pokemon it’d be Wartortle, if only because it’s the only one he knows. When it comes to characters’ favorite board games according to their VAs, Wrath’s would be the game of Life, since he has a lot of choices to think about in-universe. Cissy said that Lilith’s favorite boardgame would be cribbage, as something ridiculously arcane and old and obnoxious; You’d have to be old to get it!

According to the VAs in regards to characters’ favorite holidays, Wrath’s would be Valentine’s Day, and he doesn’t want to talk about his reasoning for that. Lilith’s would be Boxing Day, as something deeply historically rooted; For Luz it’d be Halloween or Christmas, because she likes giving gifts!

Andy Garner-Flexner confirmed that yes, the date on the calendar of the episode was very intentional and correct; It was decided by Dana Terrace herself, after Andy pointed out that they needed a date for the background calendar! Not just creator approval guys, creator decision too; It’s canonically August 22nd, today that Reaching Out takes place!

And yes; Sarah Nicole-Robles real cried when doing Luz’s bit for this episode. That’s about all to note regarding lore, character information, and meta behind-the-scenes stuff from this Post-Hoot! It’s really fun seeing the collaborative effort that is a character amidst the creator, writers, and VAs!
