Her lips were red, her looks were free,
Her locks were yellow as gold:
Her skin was white as leprosy,
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

part of the reason why i was sad about her death was that i actually was planning on her having kids! she was supposed to be the long-suffering sister whose patience (get it?) finally paid off right before tipping into elderhood. oh well, here's to the best laid plans of mice and men (and me).

patience is the virtue of a beast
that trots beneath his burden and is quiet
