i love how out of most of the stranger things main characters, billy has done the least problematic shit and yet he's the most hated.

hopper has demonstrated police brutality (the mayor dude) and always beats the shit out of someone in every season. joyce was usually an apprentice in all this. not to mention hopper literally threatened his adopted daughter that he'd take her back to her abusive father all because she was acting out like any regular abused kid. steve was homophobic in s1 and horribly insulted jonathan's entire family, saying things as though it was will's fault he disappeared. jonathan took creepy pictures of nancy. eleven has killed and tortured people. dustin almost, if not actually, killed that russian doctor in s3 when he saves steve and robin. nancy never hesitates when she's holding a gun- she's pointed it at steve, her bf at the time, at billy who is a guy in her grade and the kid she's with's brother (with the intent to kill), she constantly puts the people around her in danger (her fucking family), and she's always playing with steve and jonathan's feelings. if we're gonna blame billy for what he did while he was possessed, okay then. swallow this pill: will lured people in and got them killed. max drugged her brother and humiliated him, yelling at him like he was a rabid dog. the whole main group has done illegal and immoral things but it's cool right?

billy yelled at max and grabbed her wrist. he made an obviously empty threat to run over a bunch of kids (he's not gonna fucking ruin his life and go to jail just bc he wanted to mess with his sister). he shoved lucas and told him to stay away from max. he beat up steve (rightfully so). two of these things happened because he felt that max was being harmed or threatened. the real billy never killed anyone or did anything as fucked up as the main group did.

Absolutely wild that the two teen characters that are actually big siblings, and are canonically good big siblings, so often get those relationships erased by fandom (Jonathan) or just straight up makes them terrible (Nancy).

Like protecting Will (and later El) is straight up Jonathan's main motivator for a majority of the seasons? There are fics to be written about Jonathan allowing himself to be more than a second parent too young and getting to be a dumb teenager himself but that's rarely what people are doing in fics.

Mike and Nancy certainly argue a lot more (though is it surprising with how head strong they both are), but also show to care about each other SO INCREDIBLY MUCH. We see her be kind to her brothers friends and watch out for them too. Just because Nancy is a less traditionally nurturing character (which i love about her!) Doesn't make her a bad older sibling lol.

Do I think that Steve definitely stepped up into an older brother role for Dustin, and even to an extent Max and the Sinclair's? (Tho Erica ofc already has an older brother in Lucas that she loves very much miss "i went to every one of your games but the one that mattered") yes I do, even though we only get fragments of it on screen. I love fics where he older brothers the whole party, too!

But like, you don't have to erase the canonical sibling relationships (one of which is so so so so important to the characters and the plot!!) in order to do so. People can have multiple older siblings they look up too lol.

TK, who has been cheated on, would feel so insecure by this just being sprung on him. No wonder he looked stressed in all the promo pics.

This is one of my weak spots and I really hate shit that feels like your being excluded from a supposedly safe space, so this is going to take some effort to get through. Hopefully, they play it for laughs like they did Carlos in S3 so I can watch without cringing.

My favorite predictions for a potential BBC Sherlock season 5

Sherlock should wear the deerstalker, all the time. Molly should get another boyfriend who looks even more like Sherlock than Tom did. Lestrade should get into another relationship! Wait, I have an idea. He should get into a relationship with Anderson but then Anderson cheats on him with Donovan because old habits die hard. Mrs Hudson and Mycroft have angry sex. Lady Smallwood walks in on them and is horrified. The narrative spins this into somehow being Lady Smallwood's fault. Mycroft gets a fluffy, white cat, which he pets ominously in his office while making a bunch of meta references and quotes. Maybe the cat's name is Eurus? Or Sherrinford? John gets daily messages from Mary. Before her death, she filmed thousands of them and John listens to them every day. There are at least three other secret Holmes siblings. Sherlock should get a bunch of heartfelt moments with them, but not with his existing sibling (yes, I said sibling, singular) because it's not like anyone waited years for that!

We see Janine's Sussex Downs cottage. It is overflowing with bees. There are bees everywhere. The bees attack her. Janine almost dies because she is unknowingly allergic to bees.

The closing narration is done with Kitty Riley, who is in bed with Moriarty, who is revealed to be alive all along. Moriarty makes fun of the idea of ever being attracted to Sherlock Holmes, while looking straight into the camera, winking and nudging "Who would ever believe that?"

He starts having sex with Kitty, who makes a bunch of cat noises.

It pans to the Fluffy White Cat. The cat speaks. It says: "John Watson and Sherlock Holmes have always been in lo-" The show cuts away. It ends with John and Sherlock, fighting violently.

Every time a fic has a plot point of someone giving/getting Eddie a job so that he "doesn't have to deal anymore" I'm always sooo skeptical.
