Rein was exceptionally busy that day as Aljari slept in. He had been saving up gold and made a few purchases with the help of Astarion, getting ready for a surprise, as he set up a music box and a few other things.

He peaked his head in the man's tent after about a half hour's worth of work and gently nudged him awake, "I have a surprise for you! Can you come look?" He asked, eyes big and very much giving off an air of excitement.

He led the man out to where two very handsome and fantastical male outfits were hung on a little rack. They looked new and beautifully embroidered. And they were Aljari's and Rein's sizes, "Okay... so... this isn't the full surprise, but if you want to guess, you can." He bounced, a little, a mix of nerves and thrilling excitement, hoping he wouldn't guess so he could tell him his plan.

phil isn’t clear on the game he’s playing and it’s causing a problem (mainly for phil)

mayli sent me a clip of philza freaking out about tallulah’s death the other day and i thought about it for like 24 hours

and i think the problem here is that phil isn’t really clear, in story-heavy moments, what he’s doing here

phil is a hardcore player. he expects very consistent outcomes. he KNOWS how to play this game, he’s GOOD at this game, and he expects, reasonably, to continue to be good at minecraft. so when faced with a confrontation with the code monster, where he cannot succeed because the plot requires something to happen to Tallulah (and honestly they’ve given a lot more leeway than they had to there; it was signposted from literally minute one that ‘in order for this to proceed, the eggs cannot stay’, and they’ve made a LOT of accommodation, from revivals to adding Tallulah and Richarlyson to adjusting the tasks to straight up the last day for the eggs not actually being the last day)--it feels unfair! he’s good at this, so he should be able to succeed, and then when tallulah dies anyway, he freaks out.

and it’s not as if the guy can’t RP. his very first interaction on the DSMP started with wilbur telling him outright “there is nothing you can say to me that will keep me from pressing this button”. there, the outcome was known, if not the path; the idea was to tell the most interesting and tragic story on the way there.

there’s no wilbur here; the man behind the curtain isn’t available to interact with. the admins and DMs are largely separate entities from the players, and as far as we’re aware, they don’t talk with them. and while that might seem like a good idea from a mystery standpoint--

just from a personal standpoint, i do MCRP, and i’ve had a lot of bad dms and a few good dms. and the good dms all, largely, told us what was expected. they signposted what was going on, and talked to us behind the scenes. not giving away answers or the mystery, but being something beyond an External Force That Moves The Plot. beyond a deus ex machina. 

and, critically, if i lash out at my friends who are DMing for us because i didn’t like how something went, i a) can talk to them tomorrow ooc with a clearer head and say ‘hey, sorry about that, i’m still kinda salty but i see that that was you doing your best for the plot’ and b) didn’t do that in front of a few thousand people. even if phil can contact the admins on his own ooc (not through quackity), he can’t exactly apologize and work out plot details in front of the same crowd that is now all up in arms about the eggs.

Something Has To Happen To The Eggs To Keep Going. That’s been signposted from minute one and I think that the fandom and a lot of the creators forgot about that, probably because they seem to be a lot less involved with the actual creation of the story. which, imo, can end up being....less fun. like sure, you want people to unravel this mystery you’ve created--but if they don’t feel like active participants, like they’re just being shoved along a plot they don’t understand, you get Phil freaking out on stream.

anyway either phil needs to learn to rein in his reaction or the admins need to reevaluate communication with the players before someone in the fandom fucking doxxes someone over it cause. you know someone would. you know it.

best experiences - i've honestly had the BEST experience with the bg3/d&d and dragon age community! i loved a lovely experience with a handful of tolkien community members that i still interact with to this day, but hands down BEST has been the community has been bg3/d&d lovelies.

pet peeves/dealbreakers - complaining about low activity/not having anyone to interact with but also not doing anything to fix that. it's okay to have lulls in activity! it happens to the best of us! ( i went from one blog that had hundred of followers and 50+ asks/replies a day, to now being at this blog where i have maybe five a day and you don't see/hear me complaining about it)

muse preference (fluff, angst, smut) - I enjoy all three! they mix so well together and you can go from one to the next in flawless transition if the characters/mood is just right!

plot or memes - plotting is hands down the best way to win my heart, but memes are the BEST way to get my attention! chemistry between writers and muses are the most important!

long or short replies - i word vomit a lot when i'm super into a thread. so personally, i'm a semi-lit to lit writer, but if we're doing crack or funny shit, that's the only time i think i really do short replies

best time to write - for me, that's at night or on the weekends. i ALWAYS have muse, but because i work and have animals to take care of, i usually only have time to do so between my lunch at work and like 7-11 PM before i go to bed. even then, i've got all the FOMO that i'm gonna miss a reply xD

are you like your muse - do you see all those shit heads above? i am absolutely like those idiots. i'm chaotic, sarcastic, a hopeless romantic in ever sense, and most of all, just wanna help people when and where i can <3 i wanna love and be loved and make sure everyone knows that they are all loved, too!

[portrayal meme] i really like ffxiv wols and im very very happy that you're here to share dar'khol with us :D it's a role that gives a lot of freedom for interpretation so i appreciate that u've taken the reins to flesh out ur miqo ur way to make him live beyond the confines of MSQ and typical blank-slate protagonist. he has his own motivation and goals and a full life to live---i dunno if this sounds weird but i can imagine him as a character in his own questline that i or another wol could run into if our worlds ever crossed. anyways, i hope u keep posting and have fun with RP, wols are all about adventure and his are fun to read with that snarky personality :D meet u next thread lolol!

IM GONNA WEEP that doesn't sound weird at all and i'm flattered beyond belief that you're able to envision him as a character all on his own. he'd be overly welcoming to other wol's and adventurer's alike!

OKAY im gonna ramble about Mossy Fool, my beloved. this will not be comprehensive, and some of what i've said about him previously has been adjusted or changed. no big deal. it's good to develop characters and reassess parts that might've been a bit rough in a previous pass. i'll try to include images occasionally but they'll mostly be reused from stuff i've already posted

yahoo here we go!

a few quick facts:

- he was a moss knight devoted to unn. he cared [and still does care] deeply for his god and his kin.

- he has always been prone to violence but not in a malicious way. he is enthusiastic, energetic, strong, and can get carried away easily.

- he took in the Infection willingly to get a size and strength buff while he was in the Colosseum. this also affected his moss cloak.

- he had a name, but he doesn't remember it. he is The Mossy Fool and most people just call him Mossy. he doesn't seem bothered by this. [depending on who he interacts with in the "postgame" and how they bond, he can start to be bothered by this lack of a true name. i have explored this via RPs but i don't know how it would manifest in a no-other-people's-characters version of his story]

- between the Infection, the Colosseum, and head injuries, mossy doesn't remember a lot of his past, and he has a hard time remembering things in the short term either. he's had bugs he teamed up with in the Colosseum, but he doesn't remember them now. he's probably made commitments and promises that he no longer remembers making nor who they were made to. he doesn't remember much of his culture. it is mostly through routine that he has managed to remember unn - after every battle, he repaints his shield, both to cover any scratches and as a calming ritual and reminder.

Sometimes I'm a bit vague on the details of how he's managed to not be consumed by the Colosseum. It's sort of a plot contrivance but whatever. I explain it as Unn calling to him like she does for all her other children based off some of the dream nail dialogue we get in the game.

mossy is a self-indulgent character who sometimes gets special privileges because i like him a lot heehee

okay but what im kinda emo about today is how his life would've been so much different [and arguably better] if things had gone a little bit differently while he was still a moss knight. because if he'd been able to develop better self control earlier, he wouldn't have accidentally killed a fellow knight in a minor scuffle and been sent out. that had been the final straw after many warnings and attempts at helping him and training him to be more careful. if he couldn't keep from harming his kin, then he couldn't be trusted to protect them.

and that's what sends him seeking places to fight where he doesn't have to be as careful and can actually go all out and have fun. he finds that in the Colosseum. oh, he had a lot of fun there...

but! if he'd managed to rein himself in. if he'd managed to control his tendencies a little better...

he was well suited to become a paladin. he's always had strong devotion and connection to unn. he could have become something more than a knight. he wouldn't have let a rank like that get to his head. he'd have been happy and proud of his duties and responsibilities. he'd have had a positive impact on his tribe. his affinity with plants could've developed well and he could've had a less invasive connection.

....also, he could've been a boss fight akin to hive knight guarding vespa. Moss Paladin. he'd have two phases, and the second phase would have vines and thorns and be very cool.

however, because he was kicked out, he had the opportunity to explore more of Hallownest than just Greenpath, he was able to meet other bugs and be exposed to other languages and cultures. he suffered a lot at the Colosseum, but it also fulfilled him in many ways.

and now that he's older, a tiny bit wiser, and a good deal less likely to accidentally kill another person, he can interact and bond with people he never would've had the chance to otherwise.

and although it's awkward for a while, he can visit his home. and once he has shed his fool's armor, he'll be welcomed back. The Infection did a number on the ranks of the moss knights, and having someone who has so much battle experience would be helpful to both protect his home and people and to help build up the ranks again.

i had something else i said, but then tumblr ate it and some of what i had typed just above, so that's cool. i'll just end here before more stuff potentially disappears. bleh

final fun fact! i used to draw moss knights with four eyes, and mossy had two of his injured from a slash which went diagonally across his face. i decided to simplify his design to only one pair of eyes, so now he's only got one eye.

A PROPOSITION

Hello everyone!! I am thinking about starting a SPN OC Based RP that would take place on discord! I already have the servers for it set up and organized! I am currently looking to recruit people to help me run it and do some world building for the RP!  The basis of the RP that I’ve organized so far is below! 

- Start of Plot - 

Long ago there was a small and ancient civilization where supernatural beings of all kinds lived harmoniously amongst one another. It wasn’t a life without some conflict, but it was a civilization that had governing law and order. All beings that resided within had learned to co-exist, living a life that shielded them from the unaccepting and dangerous humans living in the rest of the world. It was common for people that were the same type of supernatural being to stick together, but also not unheard of for different species to mingle and interact. It was a world without the worry of being discovered by society. The creatures living there were unworried about the consequences of ‘normal’ people learning of their existence. 

Then everything changed.

 As the population on earth grew and humans decided to set out and explore the earth, eventually their ancient society was discovered. A war broke out and supernatural being were pitted against humans in a battle that raged on for months. The supernatural beings held their own, dragging the battle on due to their enhanced abilities. However, the humans had the benefit of outnumbering the creatures they fought against and eventually the war started to come to a close. It looked as if the humans were going to rein victorious, and so the remaining supernatural beings did the only thing they could think to do, they surrendered. The human settlers wanted the land that the supernatural were residing in, and the supernatural had lost the fight to protect their home. They fled from the civilization, but this was not the end of things. 

As time passed, many supernatural beings spoke of the place where they used to live free and unbothered by humans. Eventually, the story spread to other places in the world and soon there was a large and rallied group of supernatural creatures that wanted to take the land back. They made up a plan of action, and stormed the human civilization that had taken their home from them. A second war was on the brink of breaking out and the humans knew this time they would be no match for the supernatural, their army was much bigger this time around and they were fuelled by years of anger and resentment. 

In order to ensure their survival, the human in charge of the civilization begged the leader of the supernatural army to sit down and speak with them. Humans and supernatural representatives sat down and eventually made a treaty, agreeing to share the land and co-exist together. They renamed the civilization Nirvana, and set out to making sure that all that lived within it were safe and protected. 

Many years passed and society modernized, moving into the present day. 

Nirvana is still standing, and it is still inhabited by humans and supernatural creatures alike. Many of the supernaturals from the past have since moved on from Nirvana, and all of the humans who lived back then had passed on to the next life. Over time, the story of how the town came to be was lost to the general public. Those that did speak of a time when supernatural beings lived within the town were often called imaginative or crazy. Most of the human population that live there believe the history to be nothing more than folklore passed down from generation to generation. Little do they know that their home is stilled shared by beings of all kinds and mystery and magic loom around every corner. 

- End of Plot - 

That is just a rough plot!! But its what I’m thinking of doing so far!! It would be open to all ocs and if I can get help running it I would love to do events and things within the servers! 

The set up would for the servers would include 3 servers. One for ooc info and applications, one for in character interactions and rping, and one for everyone to create their muse channels.

Reine le Queux is the second daughter of a Baron, with one of the largest holdings in the L’Agnace Duchy. There are some whispers that her Father murdered to get his hands on the Barony, and her cousins are chief among the whisperers as they are the ones who lost out. But none of this was ever talked about while Reine grew up, but she knew there was tension. So, she did the only thing she could do; she seduced a cousin to find out what was all the drama about. And he spilt; both the information and his seed, and she began to play games with her cousins back.

Though only eighteen, Reine has all the charm and social graces that her older Sister doesn’t, and she is more than happy that she herself is not the heir to the Barony. She enjoys having freedom, and a mind for lighter things, including making her family name something to talk of with pride, not dull whispers. She likes to visit the Palace often, plays, fetes, and the Hall of Games more than most (but then L’agonites are rumoured to be eager to gamble.)

But the one thing that her life lacks is some play on her heart. She liked to play with lust, but no one had ever made it through to her young heart, and truthfully she doesn't ever plan to fall in love or be a wife and mother. Losing her own mother did not affect her the way it affected her Sister, but it hammered home that women sacrifice more than the man in a relationship, especially when having children is concerned.

I am looking for someone to come into Reine’s life and turn it upside down. They can be someone who knows her already, or someone new. They can be related (I don't mind a little taboo) or someone who her cousins have asked to try and seduce her. The possibilities are endless.

My only stipulation is that it be Matt Smith as the play-by, (specifically with his white blonde hair from House of the Dragon.) He can be any age, any rank, and have any background. All of this is down to the writer, along with their interactions with others on the site. I don’t expect him to only thread with Reine. He is your character, and that is that.

(My hand slipped.) It was quiet. Night watch was seldom quiet. Beatrice set her jaw, trying not to become paranoid. She expected this sort of silence in Menzoberranzan, the city of the drow before the start of a house war...but not here; this was the heart of a forest. Not so much as a croak of a frog nor song of a cricket met her pointed ears. She hadn't given her concern much thought until she noticed Scratch was on alert now, sniffing the air uneasily. Something must be about, but what? Shifting from her post, the rogue moved to climb to a scouting position to perhaps qualm needless nerves if it happened to be a bear or something, only stopping at the voice of her newest companion, Rein. "I'm also afraid of ghosts but that's a little much isn't it?" With a soft tut, Beatrice began scaling silently up the old oak, just high enough to be a head taller than the shorter trees. On the branch just under her, she heard Rein join her in the tree, hanging upside down doing sit ups. It was new having company that wanted to spend time with her, but she strangely welcomed it. Nothing seemed amiss until some birds flew hastily from a nearby tree only a few yards away, how hadn't anything set them off before now? The only warning she heard was the snap of a twig within earshot and the pull of a bow string.

Catching the glint off the arrowhead in the moonlight and gauging the general direction it was aimed, the half-drow jumped from her perch, landing in a roll near Rein, as her daggers deflected a few gnarled looking arrows aimed at the barbarian's vitals before they could hit. A single cackled laugh turned into a chorus, one that sound like it was slowly surrounding the camp. "Gnolls? how didn't I smell-" Her question cut short as the skeletal form of a gnoll, a Witherling, sauntered into view, followed immediately by several gnoll hunters running in their direction. "Well, you weren't far off about ghosts!"

Rein was pretty happy to just spend time with her. Taking. Moving. He didn't really sleep much, so her company out a d a out was refreshing. He didn't have to spend the night alone.

It wasn't until her reaction where she blocked the death blow that he knew something was even up, "Nice save!" He flipped to the ground and landed on his feet, cracking his knuckles. He pulled the halberd from his back and moved it in front of himself in a defensive manner, "What brought them here!" He shouted, hopping to the side to avoid another arrow. Fucking Gnolls. He looked in the direction, but he didn't have very good dark vision. He had a little, but he wasn't exactly the person the call when there was a battle at night. Still. He stood with an wide stance. Waiting. Watching.

When the creatures came into view, he pulled a face, clearly disgusted, "That's... Not a ghost. More like a zombie. What the fuck are those?!" It was clear he wasn't well versed in the subject of the undead, "They look like Gnolls... If their fucking skin melted off. Like ugly werewolves."

Was he... Roasting these creatures?

"Yuck! Anyway we can fight these uggos while making sure I don't have to smell them?"

Yeah. He was roasting them.

As one of them howled, he winced at the sound, "Do we... Have a plan of attack or are we just winging it?" Rein was more close combat. His eyes began to glow red, waiting for an order before raging. Wanting to apply it before he lost his cognitive abilities.

✿ BEST EXPERIENCE: overall, the 7+ years i’ve spent in the star trek rpc on && off. it’s been by far the most chill rpc i’ve been in with the least amount of bullshit, && i’ve made some amazing friends who i consider irl friends even though we live in very different places; we’ve visited each other a few times over the last year && a half or so which great. but also the undertale rpc, circa early 2019 — that’s the most fun i’ve had in an rpc, && talk about making friends — i wrote one silly crack thread about skeleton sex ed with a mutual i’d never spoken to, && now almost 4 years later we live together.

✿ RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: how about one of each? for a dealbreaker, in terms of what will make me not follow a blog: i don’t care about aesthetics or formatting or graphics or whatever, but i really do check for writing quality. i don’t need purple prose, i’m not asking for your blog to read like a new york times bestseller, but if all you’re writing is dialogue, no real description or action, if there’s inconsistent grammar && a general lack of focus on writing... i don’t care, you do you, but we won’t be a good fit. as far as pet peeves go, i love talking ooc with mutuals about our muses && stuff, and (as evidenced above) i like making friends too. but it takes me a while to get to that point, && an abundance of non-rp/muse related ooc talk right out the gate makes me balk a little, as does constant conversation && communication in general. i’m just — really busy && have a limited social battery, so it can take me a while to reply to messages && stuff if it’s not like, specific to our muses or something we’re writing. 

✿ FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: this is so interesting. like. yes to all? and no to all? i love fluff in very small doses but if it’s all a thread is, it gets boring really fast. angst is super fun to write but it needs to be balanced — again, if it’s always leaning on one muse going through it™ && the other is the constant caretaker, that gets dry too. i don’t write smut super often, && it truly depends on the muse && how sexual they are by nature. my ideal threads are either plot-driven or grounded in character development/dynamic development. muses being put in situations. muses talking about their issues without it becoming heavy hurt/comfort. that kinda thing.

✿ PLOTS OR MEMES: overall, plots are necessary for characters who have never interacted in canon, even if it’s as simple as “hey these muses have ROUGHLY this dynamic” && then a meme is great to kick off actually writing. in terms of threads themselves, if it’s a continuation or a meme or a starter call post that had some serious thought put into it/is based on a discussed dynamic, it can turn into something great without plotting. but i also love when i discuss a plot with someone && then we start a thread based on it.

✿ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: i tend to write longer things, averaging three paragraphs or so, but easily longer if it makes sense to. i try to rein myself in because long replies, obviously, take longer && more focus, so sometimes i like to keep things short just so i can write more when i’m busy. doesn’t always work though.

✿ BEST TIME TO WRITE: fuck if i know. usually at night, but only when i have time to stay up && don’t need to be anywhere in the morning. i get most of my writing juice while i’m at work, && so when i get home at 10pm, that’s when i’m ready to bang out drafts.

✿ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): in a lot of ways, yes. not so much that i actually put myself into raine, but more like i keep finding things about them relevant to my own life. we are both nonbinary && transmasc, we’re both somewhat socially awkward but also know how to really step it up && take charge, despite those nerves. i love music but i don’t consider myself a musician — however, i do work in orchestra/concert management, && i keep having moments of being like “oh raine did this for a while in the earlier years in the bard coven”, so. yeah. raine is someone i wish i was more like, tbh. they’ve got about 20 years on me though, so i have time to get there.

WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER(S)?

I honestly don't know if I can properly answer this considering I write ocs here? As far as my personal writing goes, because even counting rp that's the only thing that I can really go off of, I've started to love Pixie x Sommer, specifically in the 'standard' verse as well as their Omega variants in their Val verse. I'm huge on multi-shipping, even with my own characters, so truthfully an 'all time fav' is difficult to name.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

It kind of just depends? Anything more than 8 years will have me looking at things a little more closely, but it's muse + situation dependent, and my 'tolerable age gap range' varies depending on the age of the younger muse. General rule of thumb? 4-5 years for muses between the ages of 18-25; then the 8 year rule for muses older. But I also acknowledge experience and maturity is a critical factor in these sorts of things so... case by case basis at the end of the day.

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NSFW?

i think a combination of ' the bikini rule ' and intent should be considered . ' the bikini rule ' covers , metaphorically , touches anywhere a bikini covers , so once touches start to be focused in those areas with sexual intent , i ' d start considering that nsfw . touching someone ' s butt as flirtation is nsfw , while jokingly patting someone ' s butt is more friendly , but still suggestive ? goodness knows i ' ve reached over and bopped a friend in the tit as a joke , with no sexual intent behind the move .

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?

I'd like to think not? When it comes down to it, I tend to let my muses take the wheel with shipping, and I'm typically open to it provided there's chemistry and past interactions to go off of. Heavy emphasis on established chemistry prior to bringing up shipping because in all honesty, I'm a little paranoid about accidentally forcing ships/writing my own characters ooc for the sake of one

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?

Hard yes, without a doubt, both for my own personal comfort and for the sake of future interactions and the like. Very few of the muses I write here are 'easy to ship' for varying reasons, the most common being severe trust issues + emotional self isolation due to trauma and other factors. Some, like Wolf, Sommer and Phoenix, are violent and abrasive as a primary response. To put it simply; most don't play nice.

ARE YOU SHIP-OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?

I kind of just go with the flow? With writing and rp, I have the philosophy of thinking of threads and stories as a vehicle out on the freeway, and while technically we're the ones in the drivers seat at first, these characters we breath life into have free rein to take control of the wheel at any time on a whim, and sometimes you get kicked out of the car entirely and lose control. I love ships, don't get me wrong, but if it happens, sweet; and if it doesn't, I can live with that, sometimes ships aren't meant to happen .
