dunno if this is a known glitch but im playing leafgreen on an emulator right . well i used an infinite money cheat code so i could Not gamble at the game corner for 4 hours for 4 TMs and i think it royally fucked my game up the next time i booted it up cuz i was fast forwarding to grind for levels and i suddenly realized my nidoqueen just landed 9 whole ass crits in a row. well 100 encounters later and im still getting crits on every hit. im also exclusively encountering pidgeys even tho sandshrews r everywhere on this route

rebooted the game and took the infinite money cheat off. everything is fine now but that was . fascinating

As someone who hasn’t rlly played a BL game b4 do u think I’d still enjoy NTY

HMMM I’ve only played two routes out of four, so my advice is definitely incomplete!

That said… I think NTY is worth a read because it’s an interesting mystery/crime story and has really good characters!

However, it does contain standard bad yaoi conventions (like dubious consent/noncon) as well as general sexual wackiness, which may be uncomfortable, especially for those unaccustomed to BL as a genre. The protagonist likes to grope his male coworkers for fun, for example. But from the routes I’ve played, if you’re used to general yaoi fandom bullshit, you can probably handle it… I think!? The game is from 2013, which should give you a sense of how things are.

The other thing is that, as mentioned above, NTY is also a mystery/crime game, so it includes rather real-feeling dark content including drugs, violence, child abuse, and incest (not with the love interests)… off the top of my head.

Overall, I really like it! The characters are really a strong point and I feel that they’re written in a pretty realistic way. For example, because the love interests are all straight, not all of the routes end up in “romance”. (Though you do get to fuck. Multiple times even!) I think if you enjoy that sort of “more than friends, not quite lovers” relationship, you’ll enjoy NTY. The way the overarching plot is revealed was very gripping to me as well. You definitely need multiple playthroughs to understand the whole thing!

I think if you can handle yaoi bullshit and darker themes, you should definitely give it a try 🥰 If you’re not sure but still want to dip your toe in, I’d recommend “Lkyt.”, which is the third game from the same company! It is much more sombre in tone and has more explicit violence and gore (with visuals, though you can censor them via the settings), but importantly…! None of the noncon…! It also feels less dark somehow because it has a more fantastical setting. It’s also much shorter and simpler in gameplay!

I'm currently playing Pokémon Platinum and I just realized that my team is WAY too underleveled for Byron, so I guess it's time for me to wipe out the local water type population with my Torterra & Luxray

#I looked up his Platinum team to see what I would be facing and one of his Pokémon is level 41 #And before I started grinding to face that my highest level Pokémon was level 35 #Anyways my current team is Bonsai (Torterra) Cynthia (Gabite) Hellhound (Houndour) Starlight (Luxray) Comet (Staravia) & Beef (Bibarel) #I kicked my Togetic (Easter) off of the team and replaced it with Hellhound but she's my weakest team member at level 23 #(Excluding Beef at level 16 because he's just here for HMs) #So yeah uh. We have a lot of grinding to do #RIP to all of the Pokémon on Route 218. That route's going to be empty and lifeless by the time I'm done here I think #pokemon #pokemon platinum

ALRIGHT FOLKS here’s the story you (no one!) has been waiting for: my brush with murphy’s law this morning 💀💀💀

expectation #1: it takes 30 minutes to get to park street from davis square by subway. my movie starts at 1pm. so as long as i get to davis square by 12:30 to catch the red line, I will make it in time

first brush with murphy’s law: shuttle buses replace red line service between alewife and kendall square this weekend

expectation #2: not ideal, but still ok. the shuttle buses will probably add ~15 minutes to the commute so i’ll get to the theater at ~1:15 which should be ok since amc always peppers us with trailers for the first 15 minutes anyways

second brush with murphy’s law: the bus driver gets fucking lost en route to porter square, the next stop after davis, which means he takes a huge fucking loop to get back to davis to restart the route so that by the time it’s 12:50 (15 minutes after we left davis at 12:35) we’re STILL IN DAVIS

expectation #3: i’m going to get the fuck off this bus and just catch a lyft from davis to park

third brush with murphy’s law: the bus driver won’t let me off bc it’s not an official stop. i have to cancel the lyft ride i’d booked and rebook it to pick me up at porter

we finally get to porter. it’s now basically 1pm. the movie is starting and i haven’t even made it one mile out from home yet. luckily, my lyft driver is just one min away bc i requested priority pickup. i realize to my horror that in my haste to book my ride i put my pin down at a shitty location so i run towards the street my lyft driver is coming down and flag him down with waving arms before he can get to the horrible intersection where my pin is and have to do a uturn to get us on track to boston.

it’s 1pm now. my lyft driver not only takes everything in stride, he gets me to park street in 19 minutes FLAT. i miss only the first 5 minutes of the movie.
