When it comes to the attention they get as celebrities, Arthur and Nix have two nigh-opposite responses to it. Arthur does allow his status as it is, largely due to the fact that he knows there's no changing it and he just has to be resigned to it as a part of who he is, but has various lines he hates being crossed. Paparazzi form one of these lines. He's not called 'Elusive Billionaire, Arthur Wayne' for nothing. He dodges paps and makes every effort to not be photographed by them. While he doesn't necessarily mind being snapped by the everyday folk, He decidedly prefers not to be caught by those media hyenas.

Nix, on the other hand, has no semblance of privacy or pride. The media HAVE BEEN desperately trying to sneak photos of her since she was seven, she's been followed by leering, hungry eyes her whole life. She knows how to be a piece of meat, you might say, yes, but it actually goes further than that — with her time spent as Killer Queen, growing hers and Skizm's fame globally, she rather perfected the talent of stealing an audience. She's great at it, most of the time she doesn't even need to try. Typically she isn't, she's just trying to be.

Because of this it's likely you'll find very few candid photos of the couple together. You will see tonnes of Nix, however, and you can garner that Arthur is never far away in those circumstances. Nix manufactures this. To save Arthur from all those cameras and starving eyeballs she places herself in the centre of frame, she lays herself out for the vultures because, frankly, she doesn't care about being picked apart and is good at being picked apart. Be it a conversation piece she has ready for the photogs, a new look she knows can't be resisted, or some other action that 'thieves' the limelight off her husband, she's got it up her sleeve. She performs. She's on show so he never has to be.

Noah is more of a listener....of course, he does his fair share of talking, and it's normally people asking him things that gets him started on a ramble. Riktor all the way. Noah could never say no to him...unless it came to the matter of sleeping.

I looooove that we got the Ventrue overlap between our two coteries for NYbN, not just because of the endlessly juicy drama of Rafferty’s two childer and the tension of that soon-to-come meeting, but also because of the two different flavours of Ventrue that we’ve gotten to see with Fuego and Khalida.

I like to categorise Khalida as a Dominate Ventrue and Fuego as a Presence Ventrue, though this is not simply based on the mechanics alone as both of them make ample use of both disciplines. The Ventrue compulsion is arrogance, a desire for power and obedience, and more than most other clans new Ventrue are very often chosen for already displaying an aptitude for this desire. But how they go about achieving this is what differentiates them.

Khalida is a dominator. She has a specific vision of what she wants from the world, and she will (somewhat ruthlessly) shape the people around her in order to get it. She uses The Forgetful Mind and Mesmerize flippantly, rewriting the world in her vision. She is measured and calculated, arguably much more so than Fuego, but that does not stop her from using her abilities as she sees fit, even going so far as to Dominate Simone, a much older and more powerful kindred, into giving her what she wants, despite the danger. She even uses Presence the same way, as a cudgel to command those around her. She uses Awe on mortals the same way she uses Mesmerize, to have them do her bidding. I think this is deeply informative of who she was as a mortal, and why Rafferty chose her in the first place; you get the sense that she was equally as cutthroat as a highend art dealer, taking what she wanted whenever she wanted it regardless of the consequences, an endless ambition for power that made her shine to her future sire.

Fuego is a manipulator. Aabria described it best during ep 3 of Club Auspex, in that she has a soft command of power over those around her that she’s slowly learning to make use of. She isn’t a Queen on a throne making demands, she understands that (unlike Khalida) she doesn’t have guidance or actual political power in this world yet. And so she watches, looks for the soft, vulnerable parts of the people around her, and quietly molds them into what she wants them to be. We talk a lot about that delicious moment in episode 3 with Rey and the businessman, but look at it again: both in luring that man to the alleyway and in asking Rey to kill him, she doesn’t even use Presence or Dominate, she doesn’t need to. She already knows what buttons to push, what poisonously honeyed words to whisper in someone’s ear to get what she wants out of them. Even her use of Dominate reflects this. She doesn’t try to push beyond her means, force someone to kill themselves (I doubt she knows that wouldn’t work yet, but even if it did its just not her style), she just nudges them in the direction she wants. Sit. Stay still. Give me the gun. Its quiet and simple, and lethally effective.

Ironically I think the two of them would have a lot to learn from each other if daddy dearest doesn’t succeed at pinning them against one another. Simone is right that Khalida sometimes uses her disciplines as a crutch, one that might get her killed if she continues to wield it so openly against other kindred; she could stand to learn from Margot’s more subtle manipulation tactics. But outside of her disciplines, Fuego is a deeply impulsive individual, taking risks and making big in-the-moment emotional decisions because of her desires (killing the security guards, trying to dominate the skull, dancing with Riktor in front of Consuela, etc) that could seriously get her hurt or worse if she doesn’t learn. Khalida’s cool, cold, slightly detached and measured outlook could help Fuego’s survival chance quite a lot. But this is just speculation of what’s to come, and I’m deeply excited to see how it all transpires.

IDK if you are allowed to answer this but I found out that Oberon and Titania are recent names grafted onto older stories so, do the fairies even have rulers? And if you have interacted with them what are they like / would you recommend resources?

This is an extremely complicated question to answer simply in a tumblr ask.

In my experience, there are innumerable Riktors of the Gloaming, which I use as a gender neutral term to describe the "Royalty" of the Otherworld—often referred to as Faery Kings and Queens. These represent the oldest and most powerful of the Gloaming Spirits that are still commonly understood as 'fae'. Many of them are even considered Fae Gods in their own right. However, I also venerate a Trinity of Gloaming Deities, who could be considered as the grand Parriarchs of all the Gloaming.

That's as much as I can say here at the time.

AH YES. Headcannons. Thinks that aren't true (maybe? @springbons might confirm them) but ya know ya know. So, here's some of my own for FM/CY (mostly Noah and Riktor but whatever)

-Noah can and will put on one color of a shirt, and say it's a different color just to throw Riktor off.

-Noah is WAY cuddly when he's feeling down.

-Riktor ain't getting any sleep until Noah drags his ass to bed tbh. Bro stays up reading. Guys tbh these two would never sleep until they have to.

One of Nix’s more famous plays back in her Skizm Queen days usually entailed allowing the big brick shit-house of a man to think he’s winning. She’d take beating after beating, even bullets if it kept the narrative going, before winging around and slaughtering her opponent. Part of the reason why she was just so popular is because she has always known what the audience wants from her. If it wasn’t that ‘holy shit she just took a wrench to the skull how did she just get back up’ narrative she thought people wanted, then she went in with additional flare anyway. Her opponent could be a single drug barren, just one guy, and she’d still go into a fully staffed drug den to take out 20+ men before actually getting to her target. She enjoyed it. She misses it.

Take the night she and Arthur met again on the train, for example, for what was supposed to be fight to the death; there she was with a clear shot and a man who hadn’t seen her coming... and she sprays the wall with her SMG next to him instead of just popping him in the head. Now, you could argue it was because he was the man she loved, sure, but this was a common play from her, for the audience. Quenches the thirst for anticipation. Absolutely no one wants to tune into a 30 second livestream of someone being blasted without a little excitement. Betting on Nix was always a ‘risk’ because there was a chance her play could go too far... and many times it seemed to,  right before she turned the tables on her opponent. She brought tension and something akin to an actual narrative to Skizm. People loved it.

Even from the very beginning where she was literally being tortured for the sake of viewer donations in red rooms and at least half of it wasn’t necessarily a play as much as it was very much reality. Half of the most wicked ideas that stemmed from Skizm’s early days, at least when involving her, probably sprung from Nix’s own warped mind, since she’d been twisted into actually thinking she enjoyed it, thinking she enjoyed the audience enjoying it. In truth she enjoyed the drugs she got after, and the very false sense of belonging Skizm gave her, but I digress.

She still uses the above tactic now, because she thinks it’s fun. She isn’t surgical in what she does, she isn’t clean, and she’s rarely quick unless it needs to be. If you do happen to be caught in a skirmish with her and she has the time (this is a hobby for her, she is sick), you’re going to think you’re winning right up to the point at which you are definitely not. She takes joy from the surprise, and gets a kick from the quick turn-around. Add to that the adrenaline that pain might’ve given her for however many injuries minor of otherwise she’s sustained, and she’s an unstoppable battering ram.

Realistically this is all really sad because while with Skizm she did want out, she wanted sanctuary and safety and nothing else. Now that she has those things, and is loved as well, the urges still haven’t gone away. As with everything else that is really not good for her, it’s not only a talent, it’s an addiction.
