Well, Basketball sometimes kisses me on the head after a long day of work but we've never touched lips. I don't have lips. And I don't love her. Well, maybe I do. I'm not sure. She's very... very Basketball, in a way I never noticed before... in a way nobody else is. Hm. It's not love!

Hating pussy isn't misogyny because not only women have pussy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in theory, misogyny is oppression of women based in hatred of women, and that sounds like it would only affect women. in practice, though, it affects all women as well as many people who aren’t women.
hatred of vaginas is 100% absolutely based in misogyny at its core. in the case of the post this ask was responding to, it’s also transphobic, but that doesn’t erase the misogyny. by saying that it’s not misogynistic, you must be implying one of two things:
that misogynists are conscious of individuals’ identities and would never direct their misogyny at anyone who isn’t a woman, or
that we can only call something misogyny if it never ever affects anyone who isn’t a woman.
in regards to the first, these are transphobes we’re talking about. their whole thing is that they don’t see us as our genders. why would they stop being misogynistic toward us just because we’re not women when they very explicitly believe we’re all just weird, ugly, mentally ill women? don’t give them that kind of credit — they don’t care about how we see ourselves and they never have because they don’t respect us at all.
and in regards to the second, that’s literally an impossible standard. oppression isn’t an exact science, there will always be people affected by a form of oppression that aren’t part of the group it was “supposed to” oppress. if we only call something misogynistic when non-women are never affected by it, misogyny simply would not exist, and i really hope you’re not arguing that that’s the case.
so yes, there are many people with vaginas who are not woman, and yes, hatred of vaginas is still misogyny. oppression is never going to be simple or follow some sort of black-and-white logic that’s easy to understand or be internally consistent because it doesn’t need to be any of those things to do its job.
i understand if it’s uncomfortable to hear these things described as misogyny when you’re one of the people affected who’s not a woman, but let me let you in on a little secret: transphobes and misogynists want you to be uncomfortable. you really can’t expect oppressive systems to be set up in a way that you’re comfortable with because the whole point of them is that they see you as less than human and treat you like shit. i get that it feels bad, but everything about the existence of these systems is inherently going to feel bad. trying to deny the way they work just because you don’t like it is a pointless and frankly ridiculous task — of course you don’t like the way oppression works, it’s fucking oppression!

women have such a beautifully unfiltered way of describing people when they're writing from their characters' pov i cant almost never tell whether the characters are really deeply marveled by everyone they see or they're just queer

i really shouldn't, but i find radfem antisemitism kind of especially shocking given how many key radfems were jews -- and wrote extensively about their experiences as jewish women. dworkin especially produced a ton of work on antisemitism, but suddenly, nobody can read when she's writing about this other aspect of her life. i'm just now realizing that most radfems probably never read that work because who cares about antisemitism -- i sought them out because i'm a jew, but why would they? god, i hate being so naive. to say nothing of how key jewish women also were to the FIRST wave of feminism -- all those women, so many of whom barely survived pogroms, organizing in yiddish, in their sweatshops, in their tenements. god, in some ways i'm almost glad people don't know much about this -- for so many of those women, their zionism was inextricable from their general leftism. the discourse would be insane. nobody understands a fucking thing about our history but they all foam at the mouth for the chance to make it up for their own ends.
You're so right with your last part!!! Our.history only matters when it serves their purposes. The holocaust is only important for virtue signaling and for comparison of the current war in Ghaza. It's so disingenuous!
I remember seeing a post about Dworkin's Scapegoat: The Jews, Israel, and Women's Liberation and the OP or a reblogger said something along the lines "well that's where Dworkin's wrong, the Jews aren't native to Israel, they colonialized the Arab Palestinians there." It was terrible to even read.
Dworkin's experiences as not only a woman but a Jewish woman have shaped the way she sees the world. She didn't shy away from criticizing Israel, either, so you can't say she was some Hananya Naftali but Woman and Feminist. Radfems never cared about that side of her because to them there are almost no intersections between one's origin and their sex and how they both affect oppression. At least when it comes to Jews.

hey quil. hey. what is babel about. youve been babel posting and it looks interesting. tell me quil. please quil. quil.
Oh how to explain Babel. Babel is a historical fantasy work set in the 1830s about colonization and exploitation with a particular (though not exclusive) focus on language. On the power (quite literally) of words, on facing uncomfortable realities, on inequality, on revolution, on sacrifice, on survival, on, as one of its names says, the necessity of violence. On how the British Empire takes from peoples it oppresses for its own gain and justifies it by characterizing others as barbaric and lesser. On injustice and grief. On how empires aren't actually inevitable or infallible. On so many things
The story follows 4 characters (told through 1 main POV) who are incoming students of translation at Oxford University, studying at Babel, which is the hub where the literal power of words is harnessed via translation. It's incredibly prestigious, only 4 students admitted each year. And even though it's the first half of the 18th century England, 3 of the 4 in our group are foreigners (one Chinese, one Indian, one Haitian), and 2 are women. This is not by their choice, but rather because of the 3's native understanding of languages foreign to the British, as they want access to these student's knowledge. They have been curated specifically for this through the will of powerful white men they cannot go against. These men want them to attend Babel, and then upon graduation use their language and translation skills to contribute the power of their words and fluency to aid the empire.
And yet despite being specifically curated and shaped for this, these 3 find they do not and never will belong. They are there to be used and drained and expected to be grateful for what a tremendous opportunity they've been given, the opportunity to be exploited and saved from their "lesser" homelands and genes. As it turns out, this dynamic is not unique to the personal level, but is rather a reflection of the prejudice, oppression, marginalization, discrimination, colonization, and exploitation happening to peoples across the globe. This realization made, the decisions and actions to be taken escalate, exemplifying the themes and messages I already mentioned.
I won't say more for spoiler reasons, but that's kinda a general gist of it. There is, however, so much more that could be said and I don't even know where to begin. I'd definitely recommend reading it--I know I made a lot of light-hearted, joking posts as I was reading, but it's quite an emotional and involved work and I think it's well done. It's very straightforward about its message and topic, and it's rife with information about language and etymology. I hope this helps give a semblance of the story, and that should you read it you enjoy it :)

Okay im gonna sound crazy but i need to ask someone about my lil rf4 theory and i apologize if this is like a well known thing that ive just never heard anyone talk about. Spoilers for rf1 if u never played.
Are arthur and raguna brothers? My memory is foggy i havent played rf1 in 10+ years but i thought they heavily implied at the end of the game that hes a lost prince? Idk if they say the crown prince but def one of the older ones since it was a big deal this prince went missing. I know there supposed to be some nebulous amount of time that passes between games but if arthur is prince 13 it wouldnt be crazy to assume they could have a close to 20 year age gap. Or are they from completely different generations, or am i completely misremembering rf1. Thank u for listening to my theory. My GAME theory.
Okay, so this is only slightly tricky to answer because the Rune Factory series does not have a definitive timeline. However, RF2's 1st gen takes place roughly 10 years after RF1—the 2nd gen takes place seven years later. Barrett mentions in RF4 that his son, Leonel, is 12, so RF4 takes place at least five years after the second half of RF2. Factor those given numbers and give or take a few years, and I like to think that by RF4, it's been about 25-30 years since the events of RF1, which would account for Ethelberd's old, decrepit appearance.
As for Raguna's relationship to the royal family, it was confirmed in the Rune Factory Official Memoirs book that Raguna and Ivan are second cousins of Gilbert, the king who was ruling Norad at the time of RF1. We don't know if Gilbert is still around at the time of RF4, as the king of Norad is deliberately left unnamed in every dialogue mentioning him, including the letter he writes to Arthur if the player chooses to marry him. However, seeing as Gilbert's portrait depicts him as an old man with a cane, it's fairly safe to assume he has most likely passed since RF1 and that the current king IE Arthur's father is his son.
In short: Arthur and Raguna are not brothers, but they are related, albeit distantly.

question as a still-learning radfem, if anyone could answer: how is the butch/femme distinction reconciled with the gender abolitionism of radical feminism? i understand how butch/femme is a distinction was not developed to serve men in the slightest in the way traditional sex-based gender distinction was, but isn’t butch/femme rooted, at least to some extent, in the arbitrary separation of “masculine” and “feminine” traits?

Goddamnit. Thanks for the warning. I'm usually good about checking when something is related to feminism specifically or if someone's username has commonly used t*rf phrases in it, but this one passed under my radar.
(I'm guessing that's how the post ended up on my dash to begin with, because I don't follow that sort of person knowingly)

Any Helia and Codatorta hcs? And, with other teachers as well like Griffin and Faragonda!
OF COURSE <333
Like I said before, Codatorta is basically Helia's found family dad. They're not actually related but Codatorta has been taking care of and training Helia since he was a little kid!
Codatorta is really proud of Helia but he doesn't show it often. He doesn't want the school to be accused of nepotism and he doesn't want Helia to be bullied/ostracized for special treatment, so Coda often ends up being a lot more strict and even a bit cold to Helia in public. Obviously, Helia does understand this, but it did still sting the first time it happened.
Codatorta was the first person that taught Helia self defense! When Helia was a kid, he really liked watching the specialists but he wasn't allowed to actually join in or learn anything himself. And at first, Codatorta was very strict about this because he didn't want little Helia to accidentally hurt himself or someone else yknow? Buuut right around the second time he got kidnapped by Saladin's enemies, Coda figured he'd need to know Something so he doesn't immediately die.
Queue the first time Helia actually manages to escape capture and Coda loses his fucking mind cause the kid isn't in his little cell oh god where did he go IS HE DEAD no he's in the vents
Speaking of giving Coda a heart attack! The first time he caught Helia sneaking out? Dear lord you'd think he fucking killed someone; he was grounded for so long !! (Codatorta was Very Mad but also Somewhat Proud that he managed to do it for so long without getting caught. Don't tell Helia that though..)
Saladin assumed that little Helia would feel more comfortable around Faragonda rather than Griffin but it was actually the opposite! He really liked hanging out in Griffin's office and overall preferred the (usually) chiller vibe at Cloud Tower. Griffin would always act annoyed by him but she did start leaving more beginner friendly history and magic books on her bookcases 🤭
The three principals actually had a bet on which kind of magic Helia would end up using. Saladin was convinced that he would follow in his footsteps and become a wizard, Griffin saw promise in his use of dark magic, and Faragonda knew that he already liked fairy magic. Imagine their surprise when he just neglected magic altogether! Except for his little origami cranes of course! Faragonda was actually the one who taught him that and Griffin helped him utilize it for missions (ie tracking magic and whatnot)
I don't think Helia would ever consciously or accidentally call Codatorta "dad", but I do think it happened once when he was badly injured and almost unconscious. Helia didn't remember it though so Codatorta never brought it up.
THIS is the codatorta and helia dynamic

Do you have vision or desire for who you are going to become ? Not necessarily something you are resolved towards but something you’d like to see in yourself and would welcome . It can be small or nonexistent if you really like the way you are
Ohh, hrmmm. idk, i think abt how i do get older and what i will be like, would i be a 45 year old who goes online too much and reblogs too much anime art still or what. i feel like ppl have an idea that "oh once im older things will just Be Different" like their current habits just..wont apply to themselves in 20 years, but i think itd be very easy to just never lose them
I will be honest, i dont really like who i am and think there is an Inherent part of it with just how im wired, i think back to me in 7th grade vs. me now and how things i liked then is just the same now. i had no idea what k-on! was back then but my ipod wallpaper app had pics of the characters, i downloaded a ton of the wallpapers of bassist like this, especially this outfit with the sleeves and hat, cuz she was just rllyrlly cool looking but i was super embarasssd abt any of it, i remember when my friend found out i felt lik dying
Tumblr media
A song i listened to nonstop as a kid was nowthen by matt flinner. didnt have much understanding of why i loved it, but now i look back and im like "oh its secondary chords." i look at any song through my life where i resonate with it and its always secondary chords as the reason why i like them
youtube
So i see things like this taat dont seem to change and coupled with how i jost generally dont like myseof and thilk im weird and awkward and socializing alwys breaks down at some point, and im like "hrrmm. well. whatever ill be in the future, will probably just be me now, but more"
I think it will be a lonely life, but i was always one who veered towards being alone, my parents talk abt how easy it was to raise me cuz id go in my room and play with my toys by myself for hours at a time. and today i go home from work and i just stay in my apartment and go online, ive been in a couple relationships that lasted 2+ years when i was in highschool but thats been the most involved relationships ive had, i dont think i would be good in any right now even tho i rlly want to connect closely with someone, i think abt it all the time :33 but i dont think i can maintain that, i remind myself that im longing for a romanticized idea
So when im older i think ill be alone and half be okay with it, and half hate it but i dont think ill ever be like "this is unfair!" cuz i dont rlly have anything or anyone to blame, its just how i am rlly

Hiya, Poorni ❤️! For this ask game, a character of your choosing from That '70s Show? I would have gone with That '90s Show, but we don't have that many characters without diving into our own fanfictions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eric/Buddy - best Eric ship fr
2. Eric/Jackie - enemies to lovers excellence
3. Eric/Donna - heart of the show
4. Eric/Connie - they were so cute
5. Eric/Chloe - I wish they were shown onscreen
6. Eric/Mitch - enemies to bfs supremacy
7. Eric/Leslie - them as his Donna/Casey would've been interesting to watch
8. Eric/Katie - I don't remember them
9. Eric/Kate - he was 17 and she was like 20
10. Eric/Pam - just ew
Tumblr media
Eric/Donna - her best relationship
2. Donna/Jackie - enemies to gfs excellence
3. Donna/Raquel - the wlw Beric all I've gotta say
4. Donna/Brooke - they'd be a cute couple honestly. Imagine them raising Leia, Jay, & Betsy under the same roof
5. Donna/Independence - her remaining single at the end of the series would've been nice
6. Donna/Randy - irrelevant but a love a pan4pan couple
7. Donna/Hyde - ignoring early s1, I still prefer them being purely platonic
8. Donna/Mitch - flop shit
9. Donna/Kelso & Donna/Fez - ew
10. Donna/Casey - she was 17 and he was 21
Tumblr media
Laurie/OC - In my verse, she ends up with one my ocs (Paula), who is almost identical to her.
Laurie/Jackie - When Jackie's in her 20s, I feel they'd work. I love an enemies to lovers pairing.
Laurie/Fez - They were cute, but Fez being 17 and Laurie being 20 was icky. If Fez was 18, I would've shipped them more.
Laurie/Donna - I mean I don't hate the idea of it. They could be cute. But it'd have to happen in the later seasons where Donna is 18-20.
Laurie/Carlos - Isn't that the guy Laurie went on her honeymoon with instead of Fez?
Laurie/Casey - They are basically the same person (manipulative, abusers, etc), so it's fitting I'll say that.
Laurie/Kelso - So many things wrong with them, but I'll start with the fact that Laurie SA'd Kelso (he said 'no' several times and she didn't listen). Them later on willingly having sex doesn't change that.
Laurie/Professor - She was 19 and the Professor was in his 40s. Yuck.
Tumblr media
Red/Kitty (duh)
Any other pairing
