Sea Hawk clearly has ADHD

Which isn't something I've seen people talk about much. So here's a list a list of his ADHD traits I've noticed.

Very impulsive.

His tendency to set ships on fire - poor impulse control. Also his love of fire could be connected to visual stimming?

ADHD seems to be common in pyromaniacs. (Sources include Pyromania: fascination with fire - The Diamond Rehab Thailand, Pyromaniac: Meaning, symptoms, and treatment, Pyromania - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics, and others. I went down a rabbit hole trying to get statistics on what percentage of pyromaniacs are diagnosed with ADHD, but found nothing.)

My little thoughts and feelings about each character in Only Friends (post ep7):

Boston - Love him. This guy is single handedly responsible for the drama and glee and joy I get from this show. Of course there are other factors, but ugh Boston what a great guy! Hope he records more of his friends kissing and causes havok and gets more beatings by Mew in swimming pools. Hilarious!

Nick - Pathetic little menace lol. He has a cute vulnerable face that is so damn adorable that I get even Boston falling for it. Complete traitor though. Responsible for all the problems in his love life though he likes to pretend otherwise. I hope Sand fucks him and calms him down. Boston couldn't do it.. maybe Sand can.

Top - Mr. Top tier playboy, whose fame I don't buy because if you don't care for your partner's pleasure, who the FUCK would recommend you LMAO! Anyway, he is actually a fucking romantic at heart with top tier date ideas. This man just needs someone to househusband him and fuck him nice and proper and Mew is just the person for it. But since Mr. Idiot fucked up things big time, who knows if they will even end up together?

Ray - Thailand's gay Devdas. If you don't know who that is, shame on you! Anyway, I have feelings of extreme fury towards him while also wanting to yeet him into rehab asap because this child is not crossing 25 otherwise. Needs to get his behaviour in fucking order and needs to treat Sand better or else I'm jumping in that show to beat him up like Mew jumped in the pool to beat Boston. Also, he's super hot and I totally get Sand, but I would still kick his ass to the curb. But I kind of want to cry at his beauty, bl drama gods have mercy!

Mew - MY SON! I have adored him in his calm era and I adore him in his raging era. Such a self-aware king. Vengeful as FUCK! Calm like the ocean, but if you piss him off.. well be ready for a fucking tsunami. I hope by the end of the show, he is able to find a balance between both sides of his because there is as much strength in being kind as there is in being cunning and sharp. And together, these traits make for a lethal combo! I'm fine whether he takes back Top or not. I just want him happy by the end with that honor student batch and sipping some nice mock-tails with his moms.

Sand - MY SON! Will definitely become Thailand's pansexual/bisexual Taylor Swift with the amount of banger songs he is going to make after all this drama. A self-aware king much like Mew, though I think he has more issues poor boy. I wish he loves himself more and dumps Ray's ass lol (I say that while my RaySand heart cries like a little bitch). Anyway, he is single-handedly responsible for feeding my angsty fanfiction heart. Heartbreak makes him look SO pretty, no wonder Ray keeps doing that to him (I'm a horrible person dont kill me please!). BUTT! I want a happy ending for him whether it's with Ray or not. Also, I need someone to attic husband him (hint hint RAY nudge nudge though in my fanfic Top does it hehe) and take care of him because this man cares for everyone, BUT NO ONE DOES IT FOR HIM! it's that time again! episode 10 inspired me so much i finished this chapter pretty quickly this time lol.

“SURPRIIIISE!” Ray enters the front door of the hostel with Sand’s hand in his, and true to his word, drops his mouth open in mock surprise when they step over the threshold, a slew of party poppers going off as a small crowd of their friends wait with smiles. He glances behind their heads, where a banner that says ‘Congrats on rehab’ hangs in alternating red and yellow font, bundles of matching balloons tied at the ends. The color scheme reminds him of a baby shower — or a fucking gender reveal party — which has his initial reaction bordering on a snort. (But … when was the last time Ray had even had a party for himself?)

On Rehab

I've seen a lot of posts that suggest folks may not know much about rehab, so I'm jumping in with my experience.

Disclaimer: This is from a US-perspective, and from a person who has helped loved ones research/enter rehab but who has not gone myself. I did a little research and it seems like the options are similar in Thailand.

There are multiple forms of rehab:

Rehab can be inpatient (aka residential treatment) where you live at the rehab center. Rehab can also be outpatient where you live at your home and visit the rehab center regularly for individual and group therapy. A lot of people do a short stint (from a few days to weeks) inpatient before switching to outpatient. I'm calling this mixed rehab.

Inpatient programs are considered the gold star for treatment. They have the lowest relapse rates after release, so they are an excellent option if you can afford them. They are especially recommended for people who need a medically-supervised detox and/or more intensive oversight/care and an externally-imposed schedule and rules.

We know Ray can afford it, but inpatient programs are generally extremely expensive so many people opt for outpatient/mixed care due to affordability. They are also great options for people who can't take time away from work or family.

The absolute best chances at recovery are if you participate in at least 90 days inpatient, followed by outpatient care and ongoing participation in support groups. The longer you stay in any form of treatment, the higher the recovery success rate.

All that's to say: We don't yet know what type of program Ray will choose and if he will be away from home for any period of time. Based on what we saw in episode 10, I think he visited a hospital-based program, which is more likely to be mixed or outpatient. Plus, we see him out and about quite a bit in the episode 11 preview, so it's unlikely that he's (at least initially) choosing an inpatient program.

No one asked, but FYI, Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous and other 12-step programs are not rehab because they do not offer comprehensive supports. They are support groups. Participation in AA/NA/other support groups during and/or after rehab decreases likelihood of relapse, but they're not the same as rehab.

I have a question regarding Ray and his rehab. Now, I don't know jack about that kind of rehab. Alcohol, drugs, you name it. I have a very limited knowledge of that sort of addiction so I won't pretend I know what I'm talking about. BUT And I don't know if rehab for drug addiction is different on the body than rehab for alcoholism and I guess it also depends on how addicted you are. Now during the span of, I think, the last 2 episodes, maybe 3, I don't actually know exactly, Ray has been going to rehab. Now hear me out. I've only seen this shown in movies and shows, so again, I know jack about this. Do people not go to rehab and stay there? I know physical therapy is happening in a short span and they usually stay in the clinic for their rehab. I have seen alcohol/drug rehabs in movies and they went there for months, being away from family and friends, and that rehab is painful. Like, the fact that the body stops getting something that it got for a long time will have an impact on the body and getting over the addiction. I've seen people sweating and screaming and crying. Now again, idk if there is a significant difference between drug addiction and alcohol addiction when it comes to the body. People in rehab relapse, they get shut down with meds and shit and they go through hell. Now watching Only Friends....first off, Ray seems to still be hanging around everyone AND drinking. Given the scene with Boeing and Sand in the pool and Sand even mentioning the fact why he's drinking. Ray seems to be doing hella fine going to rehab and stopping to drink. He even was easy going ordering that water in the last episode. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for his change in behaviour and I love this boy a lot and I'm happy he's happy and all that but just simply based on a realistic point of view....is this how it works with alcohol? I would love to be educated on this from people who've been through that or work with that. I also don't know if rehab works different in different countries, given most of the stuff I get to see is from the western world. Is that different in Thailand? It just really confused me because it looked so easy in this case compared to other movies/shows I've seen where they showed people going through rehab. It would be really cool if people with knowledge/experience with this could tell me because I'm genuinely curious.

What’s Carl’s reasoning behind not seeing ‘Anthems ‘ as a real 3rd Libs album? Thought they wrote most of it together while Pete was rehabbing in Thailand. Heard that Carl seems to have disowned it but don’t quite understand why..

Hello! He hasn’t disowned it so much as he wasn’t entirely happy with how it came out. Gary has said similar things in the past too. Yes they wrote it all together (though there were some tracks based on older ones they reworked). Carl’s reasoning seemed largely to be that the album had a handful of good songs on it but wasn’t it a totally coherent work, which I take to mean they slapped songs on there that they weren’t really entirely happy with or that they may not have otherwise used to fill out the album.

Really I think he’s using a lot of justifications to dance around the fact that he just didn’t think the album was that good. I sort of both agree and disagree - on one hand, that album has some songs on it that stand up with some of the best they’ve ever released (Gunga Din and Heart of the Matter), has some amazing Libs mythology based moments (Iceman, Milkman’s Horse, Dead For Love) and of course a wonderful homecoming with You’re My Waterloo. There’s also songs on it I wouldn’t care if I never heard again. So in essence I think he probably feels it didn’t hit as hard as it could have really. But as fans, you know, this many years on, we don’t need every song to hit, we don’t need perfect albums. We just need some stuff we are going to love, we don’t even need to love all of it, and both Anthems and I am sure the new one will provide that. Plus you gotta remember Carl is the most self critical person alive. How he feels about it doesn’t really reflect our experience of it, or even Peter’s experience of it. Everyone has their own taste and their own feelings at the end of the day. X

I'm sorry but I can't get over how cute they look. Like they are both so adorable and I just want them to book the first flight out of Thailand and leave and be happy with each other.

People saying Top called the cops & I usually don’t entertain their flat earth theories but this is so silly. Let’s say he did… ok… now what? first all of, is it really so hard to believe that the hostel would actually receive a noise complaint? 😂😂😂 like, ray and mew set it up, ray who is totally irresponsible and mew who is following his lead and not thinking straight? it's way more likely that they forgot to warn the neighbors they were having a party than anyone from the party calling the cops. in fact, it's not just likely, it's what literally happened.

second of all, MEW SNORTED COKE JUST AS MUCH AS RAY DID. he would also have gotten arrested lmao why would top risk that?

third of all, when did he call them? when mew was already passed out and couldn't see him bribe the police? the only reason that top bribed them in the first place was so that the hostel wouldn't get bad publicity, ray wouldn't have been able to finish the project, and mew would have lost his honor student status. again, all stuff that top wouldn't risk because he specifically doesn't want mew ruining his life because of him.

​he had planned on staying away much longer than he did. truth was, he was enjoying finding himself, escaping the grasp that the spotlight had on him since the day he was born, finding a purpose. however, as soon as he was given his cellphone back and he saw the news about mafe, he caught the first flight back to california. he hated himself for not being there, and hated himself even more so because he had contributed to this. he had pushed her to party with him, did drugs with her plenty of times when he knew she had much more of a problem than she ever did and the guilt was eating him alive. and normally, johnny would’ve tried to avoid it, but he wasn’t that man anymore. before even stopping at home, he headed straight to the rehab center, being led by a nurse into mafe’s room. and when he saw her sitting on her bed, he immediately felt a lump form in his throat. “hey...” he choked out quietly as the nurse left the room to give them space. he slowly made his way inside, hands nervously resting in his pockets. “i...uh...i was studying in a temple in thailand, they took my phone...i didn’t...i didn’t know what happened until yesterday.” he said, looking down at the floor as he let out a shaky breath, reaching into his pocket as he pulled out a crystal that had been sitting in there. “this is...this is a clear quartz, they say this one’s a master healer and it can fix just about anything.” he said, slowly taking a seat next to her on the bed as he reached over to place it in her hand, sweaty palm immediately grabbing his hand in hers as he felt his eyes well up with tears. “i should’ve been here.” he said, shaking his head. “i’m so sorry, i’m so fucking sorry.”
