HELLO! I just wanted to share this art work that I've commissioned from @adrienwithane. A pleasure to work with for sure, and I don't even have enough words in my vocab to express just how much I love how it turned out.

I will never get over how much I adore this. Never. Julian was so accommodating with my requests, and also helped me come up with the over all look after giving a description of what the gist of the piece would be. They both look so precious. Listen, Reiner being cared for and pampered albeit scolded a bit for carelessness will always be my guilty pleasure.

Yuna is the character I've played in my latest D&D campaign. I usually play pansexual halfling bards, so it was cool to play something different for a change, and go with the edgy rogue tiefling.

We didn't have much time for the campaign since our marvelous DM is moving back to the States, but it was a brilliant adventure nonetheless.

Here are the outfits Yuna wore during the second half of the campaign, after 15 long years in jail. She went from edgy kid to mafia edgelord over a few sessions. (⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

Game For The Murderbot Diaries Book 5: Network Effect Spoilers

So I was testing out RPG Maker MV's free trial, and I decided to make a little game based on chapters like 12-14 or so of Network Effect (Book 5).

You can play it online here, but If you are on Windows, I'd recommend downloading the game here because the browser version is really slow on it's loading screens.

This specifically was picked because someone on my newsletter asked if I could make an animation of this specific scene, and I was like--no I'm gonna make a game >:D

icr, did oscar always have a cane or is that new 🤔 are we getting an ongoing injury plotline (hell yeah) or is it just a fashionista thing??

he'e always had a cane!! all the male characters we've seen out of the house have canes (blanking on larry and raikes actually but i think they must.) — 19th century mens' fashion but not solely frivolous, even their social class did a lot of walking and the roads were not as easy to walk on as ours so they had utility

HOWEVER i am insane obvi but also he Does seem to be putting some weight on it in that photo. and we have never seen him and marian arm in arm so nonzero chance she is helping with him stairs. i am Hoping whatever happens to him in 2.01 is an actual Thing and frankly he has looked kind of pathetic and sickly in all of the promo photos that are not set at the garden party so i am really getting my hopes up over here!!

imo there is a very big difference between "this author/artist/etc. promotes their work on their socials" and "this author/artist/etc. is expected to be an influencer".

they are both present on social media but influencer behavior is imo very specific. When i think about this behavior i think about the curation of a big audience prior to and as a requirement to getting a job within an industry, having to post a specific amount of social media/influencer content per contract agreement, using social media as a "brand", always having to be engaged with one's audience, your physical appearance as a brand/aspect of your social media influence, etc. as influencer behavior. Requiring the curation and maintenance of this type of social media engagement is exhausting, and often prohibitive to creatives continuing to make their art.

we talk about not wanting to require authors/artists/other creatives be influencers but you also have to let people, especially people in the indie spheres promote their work without dragging their names through the mud for doing so. most, if not all of them, are not capitalists, shills, or influencers. Many of these are people are just trying to tell you about their art and hoping you'll engage with it/perhaps buy it and that is not a bad thing. it's just as upsetting to them that social media in the current day almost requires one to be constantly engaged and influencing to have their voice heard in the sea of millions.

like as a creative i don't mind existing on social media, i'm on it right now. i just want to be able to use social media as a person and not be required to be constantly engaged to be successful. in the same vein i don't think one should be criticized for promoting their art. I think both these things can live outside the sphere of being an influencer and i don't think that's too much to ask.
