So about the Kenobi Finale
obviously there are a lot of outside factors and failings that led to the fall of the republic, but if we're just talking about just anakin and obi-wan specifically and that living breathing thing between them, however you choose to define it, then yeah i feel like we should acknowledge that there was an inherent discrepancy in their love languages that kept them from being truly and wholly open and honest with one another, so much so that the secrets festered.
anakin loves to destruction (his own and those around him) but obi-wan loves to separation (everything the order has taught him and that he struggles with but eventually always succeeds in). anakin's passion demands satisfaction via extreme measures (which yes, makes him such an excellent sith), he's incapable of letting things and people go and expects to be understood, to be met stride-for-stride in that single-mindedness, but obi-wan's passion demands acceptance and yes, crossing many lines and boundaries the jedi order doesn't approve of including attachment because he was nothing if not attached to anakin (again however you choose to interpret it), but at the end of the day, obi-wan can let go. love for obi-wan is acceptance and the distance to grow and make your own choices and owning up to your decisions. love for anakin is closeness and to the ends of the earth and don't ever leave me whatever happens whatever i do not for anything.
it's why obi-wan can accept that his anakin, the very best bits of him that aren't in luke and leia, are gone and only the sith is left. it's also the same reason why vader, self-dubbed "what remains," cannot accept obi-wan leaving him and screams at him when he turns his back. because he's anakin at his worst and lowest, he cannot temper the all-consuming nature of his love into something that doesn't burn and seethe and hate.
love isn't the opposite of hate, in fact they run parallel, and the antithesis of love is indifference but vader can't be indifferent. for all that kenobi "means nothing" he can't let him go, can't even kill him despite everything he claims, because as a sith he is made of extremes and anakin may be dead but he never did anything by halves, least of all love.

Bog body bog fae cryptid bruno
i'm thinking more like bog body bruno being found in a thousand years still looking like he's just taking a nap in the bog!! peaceful, sleepy but content expression eternally preserved on leathery skin. very much tollund man vibes (ok tollund man probably died under pretty violent circumstances he just happens to look peaceful lol)
or like, future bog body bruno having just ended up in the bog, slowly sinking into the water in the peat moss and heather ^_^ im so normal about bogs and jjba btw can you tell.
idk i just keep thinking about him being a walking corpse for half of vento aureo and it inspires meeeeee. idk, corpses and death and stuff is very like, artistically inspiring to me, if that makes sense. theres a reason my url is what it is !!
oh and look up the tollund man and bocksten man if youre comfortable with looking at human remains btw!! the bocksten man has a really cool reconstruction made of him at the museum he's at ^_^
sorry this was such a long answer and the tags makes it longer sghjdkss

I am thinking about The Raven Cycle and why it Got me so hard in the fannish way
I do not tend to identify as a "friends to lovers" shipper, because my favorite part of a story has always been the Fraught Beginnings; this usually manifests as enemies to lovers, or at the very least as ???? Relationship Not Found (intensely obsessed). I like a relationship that has several layers of tension, a slightly unbalanced love-to-hate ratio, as long as the device that is keeping them apart makes emotional sense. It /can/ relate to characters having their own agendas outside the romance that they are pursuing that pushes and pulls them apart and together (The Black Sails of it all), but it's not a requirement, I don't think. Or maybe that's just a storytelling requirement for me in general.
But the thing that's wonderful about The Raven Cycle is that it puts friendship under the romance lighting, and lets the characters be absolutely mad for each other. They are all desperately chewing at the walls that keep them apart, but their relationships are fraught with the way that their overwhelming affection and love and respect for each other doesn't stop them from hurting each other! It's such a beautiful centering of the complexities of platonic and romantic love, with the emotional priorities balanced throughout the circle of 5 - which lets everything stay at a certain level of tense! And! Fulfilling! That they all love each other is never in question, but their worries about their relationships are central!
I want to collect more fiction where friendships take the emotional load of the story, both because it allows for some delightful polyshipping opportunities and because it feels true to life
