Plum adjusted the strap of his lingerie, pulling it slightly to the side so it laid across his shoulder at a better angle. Pink had headed out almost an hour ago, and Plum was only expecting one guest. He had been waiting all week, and he couldn’t wait to see his secret bonefriend. During their sexting last night, Plum had promised Blue something delicious would be waiting for him when he arrived.
He grinned as he heard a knock on the door, adjusting his position one more time before calling out. While he could go open the door as he was, he knew his partner preferred to walk in and discover him like this more.
“Come in!” Plum yelled, stifling a snicker as he heard the door hinges squeal as it was pushed open. “Hey, careful. You’re going to break that.”
Blue slammed the door shut behind him, and stopped as he reached the threshold of the living room. He started with wide eyes, his face flushing with magic. Plum just smiled, arching his back a bit so the tiny vest rode up and exposed more of his ribcage.
“I forgot what I was going to say.” Blue turned around, covering his face with one hand. After about a minute, he turned around and sheepishly grinned at Plum. “Uh… I still can’t remember. Sorry, I missed you.”
“I missed you too, Ber.” Plum opened his arms, beckoning for Blue to come closer.
Blue crossed the room in a few strides, and hopped up on the couch in between Plum’s legs. The plastic sheet underneath Plum squeaked a bit as he settled into place, and Plum glanced down to make sure it hadn’t ridden up. He and Pink had set a few rules in the house quite a while ago, including that nowhere but the kitchen table was technically off-limits, but that you had to clean everything up. Plum was planning to get fucked so hard he couldn’t walk, let alone try to get magic stains out of the upholstery.
It was nice to have so many universes to explore, but there were a few drawbacks. Thanks to an abundance of Gyftmas parties—because of course, Blue was too kind to refuse a single invitation—they hadn’t gotten to hook up in almost two weeks. While Plum didn’t mind a little risk, Blue had made it clear he didn’t want to get caught with his pants down, and Plum could respect that. Still, he couldn’t help his own needs. His magic was already threatening to form just from feeling Blue’s body hovering over his.
“You’re so pretty.” Blue gently pressed his teeth against Plum’s forehead.
Plum hadn’t quite been expecting that reaction, but after a few seconds, he smiled. Blue was a sweetheart; that was one of the many things Plum loved about him. Plum grabbed Blue’s skull, pulling him back down for a proper kiss. Blue’s hands moved to Plum’s hips as they kissed, but he didn’t move anywhere too sensitive. He just held Plum, lightly rubbing circles over the bones with his thumbs.
To Plum’s embarrassment, it was still enough to make his magic take shape.
“Let me take care of you first please?” Blue asked, his eyelights shining as he looked pleadingly at Plum. “I just want to make you feel good right now.”
Of course, there was no way Plum would say no to that. In less than a minute, he was lying on his back on the sheet, with his underwear pushed just far enough to the side to expose the front of his pelvis. Blue knelt down on the floor in front of the couch, and Plum had given him a pillow to cushion his knees.
Blue held Plum’s hips down as he leaned in, letting Plum’s etco-dick brush against his face. He looked up at Plum, his eyelights flickering into little hearts.
“Please.” Plum put one hand on the back of Blue’s skull, shakily caressing it. He didn’t mind submitting to Blue, but he wished his partner wouldn’t tease him so much sometimes.

Hetalia Rarepair Week 2023
Day 5: Historical - America and Lithuania
1992 was a historic year for Olympic basketball for both Lithuania and America!
I've been wanting to try out make some shrinky dink standees recently so this was the perfect excuse :)

1992?! Historical? Hopefully that counts. Anyway, in 1992 two things happened in the world of Olympic basketball:
Lithuania's story is way more compelling so we will go with America's first. 1992 was the first year that NBA players were sent to the Olympics, rather than more amateur players. This team was called the "Dream Team" and given how stacked they were they did go on to win the gold! By the way, at the previous Olympics in '88, the Americans were beaten by the USSR team which included several Lithuanian players...
As for Lithuania, this would be the first time that Lithuanian basketball players would be able to represent their own nation in Olympic basketball instead of playing under USSR, which was a huge thing! There were economic troubles at the time and it wasn't certain the nation would be able to send a team due to the cost of doing so, but they rallied the nation and other organizations/entities and came up with the funds. They went on to win the bronze, pretty impressive! You can find lots of articles and such about this online, or check out "The Other Dream Team" documentary/movie, etc. I think the NBA even put out a Lithuania-focused mini-doc recently.
But wait, there's more. One of the "entities" that helped fund the Lithuanian team was...the Grateful Dead. Yes, an American band gave them $$$. Yeah, we've reached the even more AmeLiet-ish part of the story. Apparently Jerry Garcia appreciated the Lithuanians' struggle for Freedom and Liberty. Also a New York(I think?) sports artist created a skeleton slam-dunking tie-dyed t-shirt that was like...the Grateful Dead meets Lithuanian flag meets basketball, ha ha. These shirts were sold at the Olympics and beyond to raise funds, and you can still buy them today. The shirts were popular at the Olympics and really helped bring even more attention to the Lithuanian team, especially when they wore them while accepting their medals! Check out some pics online, it is AMAZING.
As for the standees, they are wearing their nations' '92 Olympic uniforms. Their numbers are just their independence holiday dates. They are made with the "ruff n' ready" shrinky dink plastic and Prismacolor colored pencils. They were pretty easy to make and I love them. I hope to make them some basketball-court looking stands, but that will be a bit more complicated. Someday...

Fanfiction Year in Review 2023
I fill this out every year. It’s become a bit of a tradition for me. Allows me to reflect on everything that I’ve written and kinda think about where I want to go next. And I like it better from the ask games because I don’t have to wait for asks to come in and can compare my answers from one year to the next. ^_^

Spin the Bottle (OT4 with cour four - technically oneshot, but it’s longer than Kisses and has more kisses in it. Haha!)

Written: 166,114 words
Published: 151,018 words (more than twice 2022’s number!! Go me!!)
Those numbers are incredibly close together because I haven’t been redrafting as much. Those numbers include six one shots, three completed multi chapters. And another four multi chapter WIPs saw at least one update.
And in another fun milestone! I broke a million words published on Ao3 just this last week!! (I've been writing fic since 2003 and everything I've ever written is on Ao3!)
3 Your most popular fic:
Not Part of the Plan - I suspect that this is mostly because being a teen pregnancy fic, it’s my most tropiest story this year. Haha!
4 Your personal fav:
Aftermath - This story has usurped Right Behind You as my favorite. I’ve been able to connect to the raw hurt and grief in this story, and there’s something very raw and human about it that others seem to be able to connect to as well. I think it’s some of my best work, and that is also thanks to an amazing beta in @ladyofthenoodle who has lent her expertise in more than one way in making this one more true to lived experience.
5 Your fav scene:
It’s so hard to pick a favorite!! I narrowed it down to my three favorites in no particular order.
The last scene in Ch 5 Love Remains - Chat Noir give amnesiac Ladybug a geography lesson from space. It’s got Whole New World vibes, and I just loved the imagery of it.
Ch 4 of Aftermath - I’m particularly proud of Marinette’s panic attack when Adrien tells her she doesn’t have to keep coming over. Like it feels like it comes out of nowhere, but it just totally makes sense. And how it manifests and how she soothes herself (it’s not healthy, but it’s so GOOD!)
Ch 7 of Would Trust You With Everything -
The scene where Chat Noir tries to tell Nino who he is, but inevitably doesn’t. And how Nino reassures him through all that. This scene feels so raw, but so heartwarming in light of Adrien’s fears. And I don’t know - it’s beautiful to me.
6 A fic or scene that challenged you:
I really struggled with Right Behind You this year, though it wasn’t for lack of trying! I had started out the year hoping to go back to an update a month here and I only updated it three times throughout 2023.
This was incredibly frustrating because the initial drafts of scenes would come pretty easily, but I couldn’t seem to make them pop the way the earlier chapters did. The good news is I think I figured out what the issue was. Most of my writing this year has been speed writing. And a big part of that is just where I’ve been emotionally. I’m very very out of practice in editing and redrafting, which this story and Aftermath both definitely need.
I’ve only been able to edit Aftermath because I’ve had a ton of help. (Thanks Noodles!) Sadly, it’s harder to find betas for rarepairs, but I have succeeded! (Thanks@coffeebanana!)
7 A line of writing you’re proud of:
“She wanted to be there to see it. To see him.”
This line is way better in context, but I’ve made myself cry about three times with it. And I refuse to explain it because that would give its power away. Guess you’ll just have to go read Aftermath.
8 A comment that touched you:
I can never answer this question without mentioning several!!
Would Trust You With Everything - this story had a ton of enthusiastic followers - way more than rarepair work usually gets, and I wrote this story right after my life fell apart and all the commenters here made throwing this story together just that much more joyful during a time when I REALLY needed it. (I'm looking at you, @bittersweetresilience, @bbutterflies @flightfoot @coffeebanana and so many others that I don't know your tumblr name!!!)
Not Part of the Plan Comments - I added sex ed lessons to the end of each chapter here because there’s so much about fertility and pregnancy that people don’t know if typical pregnancy fics are anything to go by, and this seemed to inspire so many people to share their pregnancy stories!!! And these have been so cool because I’ve learned that these stories just don’t often have an opportunity to be shared. And it’s neat that this story with its accompanying lessons could create a space for that!!
Aftermath comments - lots of people who have really struggled with moderate to severe depression have apparently felt very seen by this fic. And that a story that is essentially about two characters who feel very alone and like no one can understand can help people feel LESS alone and MORE understood is simply amazing!! I love this story so much!! AHH!! Here's one from @neurovascular-entrapta that meant a lot to me.
9 Something that inspired your writing:
Grief and the need to feel things in a distant abstract-these-are-story-book-characters kind of way so I don’t have to feel my actual feelings as closely every moment of the day really kept me writing the whole year long.
10 Your proudest accomplishment (that one scene; finally finishing that one fic; posting your first fic; etc):
My writing has been really raw and messy this year, and I can’t keep tenses straight to save my life. But there’s something powerful about the rawness that I really like even as all the grammatical errors and the lack of effort on the technical side of most of my stories has driven me nuts.
I am proud of myself for being able to get back into the big projects in these last few months after not being able to face them from April to October. And I’ve started participating in a few writing events here and there again in addition to working on my own pet projects.
11 Do you have any writing goals for the next year?
Well, I wanted to finish Not Part of the Plan in 2023, which didn’t happen only barely! So hoping the last chapter and the epilogue make it out within the next month.
Once that’s done I think I want to try and make Aftermath and Right Behind You my primary focus projects this year. And of course, I’m sure new plot bunnies and writing events will take over my brain on occasion.
Last year, I said I wanted my writing to become a reliable mental health tool for me again, and I’m glad to say that it definitely was that for 2023. I hope I’m able to use my writing this year to continue my healing journey.
And maybe go and proofread all of the fics I finished in 2023 to fix all the inconsistent tense issues to prepare them for being bound eventually!

2023 in review - recs & highlights
Happy New Year and thank you @sorrybutblog for the tag 🥂I wasn’t very active in 2023 tbh, after May I couldn’t find time or inspiration to read new things or write single recs so I focused on list requests instead. But I’m very proud of all the little things I’ve accomplished! They’ve brought me so much joy and I’m pleased with how they came about. I’m sharing below my personal highlights and would to see everyone else’s. Consider this an open tag and feel free to @ me!
✨this year I jumped right back into my anime & manga phase (I’ve loved it for as long as I’ve loved Drarry) and it’s been a thrill to discover and revisit some top notch BL stories. I did two reclists (part 1 and part 2) for fun without really expecting any interest but the feedback was so lovely I’m now planning a part 3!
✨ got so many special gifts! I was absolutely mindblown by @epitomereally’s lovely and creative LA, Who Am I To Love You? for my Wireless prompt; I got hot and bothered over this delicious nsfw art by @maesterchill; and fell deeper in love with Harry/Ron thanks to @writcraft’s stunning Can’t Start a Fire Without a Spark. I’m so lucky to have these wonderful and talented friends! thank you ❤️

Smut!! I've developed my smut writing a lot. Kinktober really opened my eyes to a lot of kinks as well 👀
Tone: I think I'm getting a lot better at matching tone in my writing for consistent characterizations and building atmosphere
Estimating word count: I've gotten so much better at looking at an idea and predicting how long the final story is going to be.

FINISH A LONGER WORK!! This was on my resolutions from last which I didn't complete lol. It's okay, I'll try again this year.
Create a more consistent writing schedule

Harry Potter has a tiny dick. It’s just a fact of life. The Chosen Microdick, the Small Saviour, the Boy with an Itty Bitty Package. And oh, how Draco loves it.

2023 Writing Wrap Up

I actually wrote about half of these stories this year, but this is what I posted this year. I spent a good month digging out and wrapping up some WIPs that had been hanging around. They're at the bottom, since most of them are not HP related.

The Old is New Again (Harry Potter|Drarry) (1,471 words)
I wanted to do my own take on trans!Draco, and this became Calla, and honestly? I love her.
Kinktober was so much fun. I really wanted to challenge myself with these, and I continue to be challenged with more of these stories that'll go out in 2024. It's been so much fun, especially writing kinks I don't share, since I have to really dig into characters and why the kinks appeal to them.

I loved writing this boot worship kink story, I loved finding the ways that it's important to both Harry and Sirius, and exploring Harry's hopes and insecurities when it came to Remus.

This watersports story is so wholesome, honestly. It's E rated, but it's an established relationship, and it's very much about trust and vulnerability, and I love that aspect of exploring kinks like this, that can involve judgement.
Unlocked (Harry Potter|Drarry; Harry/Sirius) (1,205 words)
This collar kink story was one of the most fun ideas I had. I wasn't able to flesh it out as much as I wanted to, but I'm definitely hoping to revisit this magical collar idea in the future. There's so much potential!

I actually really love these versions of Draco and Harry - Draco, an insatiable Veela, Harry, who is happy to attempt to satiate... and Luna, who needs some help with some dragon eggs. I actually have a few more fics planned in this verse, but we'll see if I get to them. So much filth to write, so little time.

An incomplete Christmas fic I'd meant to finish before Christmas but got behind on posting. Spoiler alert, it's actually a prequel to last year's microfic exchange, the first fic in this list.
The Heart of Our Home (Harry Potter|Drarry) (2,592 words)
This year's Drarry microfic exchange fic! Cottagecore with a scant spoonful of angst, and a sprinkle of sentient house fun.
Another challenge, which I set for myself, was to post stories that had sat around in my WIPs for a long time. I generally needed to add something, but in most cases I found that, even if I'd meant it to be a lot more, they stood alone as they were, or with some brief connections between scenes. I learned a lot from this effort.
Another Beginning (Teen Wolf (TV)|Deaton/Sheriff Stilinski) (3,168 words)
This was such a healing story for me to write and to put into the world. These two characters don't really get a lot of attention, especially in a romantic way, but I think they both have a really intense loyalty to the pack that makes them uniquely suited to one another, and I was really glad to be able to get this out so other people could enjoy it.
Our Relentless Dreaming (Dragaera - Steven Brust|Vlad/Morrolan) (4,431 words)
I'd had this one partially finished for quite a while, and I'd planned to tailor it for Yuletide and gift it. That...didn't work out very well, since I ended up being on the Yuletide naughty list, but I was still able to tweak it and gift it, and enjoy having it out there and off my WIPs list. It got a hearteningly beautiful reception, and I appreciated that so much.
Picked Clean (Harry Potter|Draco & Harry) (989 words)
I never entirely knew where I wanted this to go, but I wanted it to be a darker look at Draco, especially, after the war. I wanted to take both Harry and Draco in a new direction, to understand them in a different way, and I really enjoyed exploring this take.
The Taste of You Lingers on my Tongue (Hannibal (TV)|Will/Hannibal) (627 words)
A dark but poignant first kiss vignette.
I Know the Pieces Fit (Teen Wolf (TV)|Sterek) (2,700 words)
I held onto this so long. There was one little section that I couldn't get to 'feel' right, but seeing as how this is one of the most popular things I posted this year...I think it's safe to say, it was the right time to release this post-series fic to the world.

This was from the rewatch, S2, a little snippet exploring Derek's view of the world, and him protecting Stiles.

I love Jody and Donna, and I loved exploring their relationship, how Jody would navigate it and what she would get out of it.

Xenophilic E rated fic with a lot of heart. I am a big fan of writing unhinged but wholesome fic.

This sat in my drafts because of a transition issue...I added a sentence and let 'er rip, and I like it a lot. It's a story of grief, of similarities, of people coming together in hard times, in hard ways, in the ways that work. It's about the slow process of working through guilt and grief, and how it's just a little easier with someone who understands.

Working out the Kinks
Summary: Undyne's shoulder is hurt, and Alphys helps her relax it. (note: this is Underfell Alphyne and set in the UF universe underground, so I use their usual names.)

Undyne had been cracking her shoulder all day. Alphys usually wasn’t bothered by Undyne’s presence, but the clicking was getting to her for some reason. She knew it was silly. She had listened to far worse sounds in the lab, but there was something about the sound and the fact that Undyne was making it that just bothered her.
They were meant to watch some anime today, Alphys’ favourite type of date, but Alphys couldn’t focus. She had been resting her head on Undyne’s left shoulder, but when Undyne cracked her right shoulder again, Alphys sat up.
“Can you stop that? It sounds awful.”
Undyne paused the anime, looking at Alphys as she lifted her arm about her head. Her shoulder cracked again. “Relax, it’s just stiff.”
“How did it even happen? I thought you said you weren’t hurt when you dealt with the smugglers?” Alphys asked. She knew Undyne’s job was risky, but she didn’t like it when Undyne kept injuries from her.
Undyne paused, and Alphys saw her cheeks flush slightly before Undyne turned away. When she spoke, she was quieter. “Yesterday one of the guard’s new trainees landed a hit on me.”
Alphys sighed. That explained it. Undyne hated admitting she got hurt in anything that wasn’t a real fight, especially if it was with a newbie. Alphys wasn’t going to mock her, though. Statistically speaking, even an incredibly strong monster would eventually get hurt if they got into enough fights.
Alphys stood up and carefully put her hand on Undyne’s right shoulder. Undyne wasn’t wearing her armour, and Alphys could feel how stiff she was. She squeezed Undyne’s shoulder gently, leaning against Undyne a bit.
“Then let me help fix it,” Alphys said quietly, squeezing Undyne’s shoulder joint. She winced as it cracked, quickly pulling her fingers away. Actually feeling the joint pop was even worse than hearing it, and Alphys wiped her hand on the couch to help get rid of the feeling.
“Heh, how’re you going to do that when you can’t even touch it?” Undyne asked, glancing back at Alphys.
Alphys didn’t meet her gaze. She looked around the room, thinking about Undyne’s question. There had to be something Alphys could use that would let her massage Undyne’s shoulder without needing to use her bare hands. She just had to think of it…
Alphys hurried out of the room and over to her bedroom. She opened one of the drawers under her bed, riffling through a few broken inventions and a stack of manga, before she finally pulled out a box. She pulled the tool she had been picturing out of the box, and headed back to Undyne.
Undyne snorted as she saw the massager wand. “Alphy, doing that isn’t going to help me."
“Shut up.” Alphys felt her cheeks burn, and she looked at the ground. “That isn’t what—W-we—I—forget it, we don’t have to do anything.”
Alphys had been trying to help, but now she felt silly. Of course Undyne wouldn’t want to use a sex toy for this, even if it was clean. Alphys’ issue was ridiculous in the first place, she should just suck it up and spend time with the monster she loved.
“Hey.” Undyne put her hands on Alphys’ face, squeezing her snout gently. “Quit that.”
Undyne sat back on the couch, pulling Alphys into her lap. She rubbed the back of Alphys’ head just underneath her spikes, giving Alphys a few moments to calm down. It was embarrassing to be so needy, but Alphys appreciated the time to relax.
“Is that better?” Undyne asked.
“Yeah,” Alphys breathed, looking up at Undyne. She was glad that Undyne couldn’t see her eyes through her glasses; she knew her expression must be ridiculous.
“Good.” Undyne picked Alphys up, and plopped her back into her seat. “You can try the wand out. If it’s on a high setting, it might help.” Undyne turned her back to Alphys, pulling the edge of her tank top to the side a bit to expose her shoulder. “And if you can actually help me, then I’ll use it on you.”
Alphys’ face got even hotter as Undyne winked at her. She tried to come up with a reply, but quickly gave up. Undyne would always be able to get to her, and stuttering without saying anything would just make her feel more smug.
She pressed the vibrating wand against the bottom of Undyne’s shoulder blade and turned it on the maximum intensity. Undyne moaned in satisfaction, leaning into the wand. Alphys put her other hand in the middle of Undyne’s back. If Undyne put her full weight on the toy, she would probably break it. Alphys began moving the wand up and down over Undyne’s back, smiling a bit. Being able to help Undyne relax and getting a close look at her muscles was much better than just sitting there and listening to that awful sound.

I was tagged by @pennygalleon in her post to share my own fav reads of 2022 and... wow, it's SO HARD to narrow it down? Like, I knew it would be, but still 😂 This year was pretty peculiar when it comes to my reading, as I didn't really read anything older nor did any re-reads (I did listen to all of the Gallapod and a few podfics of Saras_Girl's stories, if that counts!). Instead, I was trying harder than ever to keep up with this year's drarry fests and dabbed in A LOT of other fandoms too. And, for the first time in years (as dramatic as that sounds haha), I started to read published books again and I'm still all hyped about it 😍
But, back to the fics!

Also, those Malfoys are *somethig else*!! Never before I have been so impatient to know who's the author and the second the reveals dropped I RUN to Lauren's DMs to yell about how much I loved this fic sdfghj
Fool Me Twice by @sorrybutblog (hp: drarry, E, 38k, @harrydracobang) - so it's a case fic but it does a great reverse of the usual Auror Harry trope, as it's Draco who's job is to solve the (so well plotted!!) mystery and Harry is very much in his way, even if not on purpose haha Also, their banter here is *chefskiss*
Open Fire by @slytherco (hp: drarry, E, 38k, @hd-wireless) - canon divergence of what would happen if the war didn't end after Battle of Hogwarts, written in a perfect Tarantino vibe that left me shook a lot and in the best way possible! Ola's worldbuilding here is phenomenal and it also has one of the most steamy shaving scenes you will ever read, trust me.
Romp and Circumstance by @wolfpants (hp: drarry, E, 35k, @hp-bodiceripper) - so it's basically canon hp world but set in a Regency Era? How brilliant is that?? All the Mr-s added before their surnames created such insane tension I could YELL and it was hot AF and so full of pining and jealousy and denial and truly stellar descriptions of era's outfits.
The Inconvenient Death(s) of Harry Potter by [anonymous] (hp: drarry, E, 33k, @hd-erised) - my Erised gift from this year and I'm ITCHING to know who wrote it so I can shower them in love sdfghjkl But believe me when I say it's here without bias, as it's a perfect mix of hilarious and hot and did I mention it's a time loop fic? It features, among other brilliant things, dramatic Draco being frustrated about Harry's choices of running attire, a serial cat rescuer Harry and Tommy the Swan - tell me you're not intrigued!!
Yours Truly by @skeptiquewrites (hp: drarry, M, 14k, @hp-bodiceripper) - ok, first of all: Draco here dresses like Indiana Jones and I'm still not over it and it's been MONTHS. It's an epistolary fake dating fic written in Tee's signature gorgeous prose with brill characterisations and captivating magical theory and I hope I can squeeze some re-read time in 2023 as I very much itch to get back to this one.
The Final Case of Auror H.J. Potter by @pennygalleon (hp: drarry, E, 14k, @harrydracobang) - Penny wrote this fic based on my art during the Reverse BB and I don't think I'll ever be chill about it? Harry's self-discovery here is handled in such a good way, the pining is stellar and it's funny and hot and hilarious AND has Penny's signature drarry banter that never fails to make me grin!!
facedown on my bed (thinking of you) by @onbeinganangel (hp: drarry, M, 10k) - to quote Mari's own words: "Canon remains canon but Hogwarts is an all girls school". And it's such a BRILL idea I could scream about it nonstop!! Their characterisations are so stellar here and they were roommates and had such perfect dynamic and the pining was through the roof!! I had no idea how much I needed a fem!au drarry before I have read this fic tbh and it was everything I could have hoped for in that regard.
😍 Favourite New-to-Me Fics 😍
Impatient to Be Free by @idiopath-fic-smile (les mis: ExR, M, 19k, 2020) - so it's an 1950s les amis lesbian au and I actually don't think you need to be familiar with les mis fandom to appreciate this story? The research done here is honestly insane, the dynamics between two main characters are truly stellar and I could cry over the beauty of author's writing style!! I cannot believe it took me two years to get around to read this gem of a story but I will make up for it by reccing it at every given opportunity sdfghjk

steve harrington's six-step guide to getting the guy. by @metaldeads (stranger things: steddie, T, 34k) - steddie is the very first Stranger Things pairing I ever felt the need to read fics about and this one not only fixes what canon ruined in such a gorg way, but also spoils the reader with such perfect characterisations of its characters (not only Steve and Eddie!!) you will actually feel like you're watching a special episode of the series (only better tbh). It was funny and touching and so full of yearning omg!!
elegantly bound by @alchemistc (ofmd: steddy hands, M, 25k) - what kind of Karol's rec list would it be if there wasn't at least one poly ship here? I haven't expected to fell in love with Izzy as much as I did and even more so that I'll be so in love with the idea of him with Ed and Stede... And this fic not only caters to everything I love about their triad, it makes sure to give Izzy some extra backstory (and as a bonus some Black Sails refs!!!!) but it also develops the feelings between all three of them SO WELL! Author takes their time and makes sure they all can get some proper dynamics development: in pairs and all together which I love BEST in poly fics!!
Familiar as a Bottle and a Glass by @queeniegalore (CoD MW2: ghostsoap, E, 12k) - I'm ending 2022 with a very unexpected OTP (and I haven't even played any CoD game, what happened asdfghjkhgfgh) but I'm honestly so obsessed like I wasn't in a very long time!! And THIS FIC, oh my, when I tell you it has the most brilliant pacing of going from UST to RST I have ever read I'm not even being dramatic, it's SO GOOD. The tension here is insane and the dialogues are actual gold of a prose!!

Fandom Trumps Hate 2023 creator signups are open! FTH is an online, pan-fandom fanworks auction, designed to raise money for progressive nonprofit organizations. Fan creators offer works (written works, digital art, podfics, fanvids, fan labor, etc.) to bidders, the winning bidders then donate to the chosen organizations, then the creators create requested works as a gift for that person to thank them for this donation.
A full rundown of FTH, including the auction calendar, can be found through their Tumblr or through their Carrd. Creator signups close on Feburary 19th, 2023. Bidding opens on March 1st, 2023.
SVSSS currently has 12 creator offers so far! And of our sibling fandoms on that list, MDZS has 15 and TGCF has 7! If you’re interested in taking on some prompts from fellow fans in order to support a good cause, FTH can be a lot of fun. my year in fic
I was tagged by own personal ledgebag @maesterchill to share a few lines from every fic I posted this year. Behold her list of Drarry/rarepair majesty here. I checked my AO3 and i have five - one of which was a collab which involved me writing two fifty-word segments but I've included it nonetheless. This year was a tough one for me writing-wise - I had hoped to finish and post my long WIP and I didn't manage that due to real-life pressures interfering, so I admit it's been a disappointing year for me. However I did manage to get a foot on the ladder of original fiction, with two short stories published and some great feedback, and new deadlines coming up for more original writing. So swings and roundabouts I suppose. My only goal for next year? Finish my long fic! And wishing all fandom creators a satisfying and uplifting year ahead for 2023.
🩳Gather Your Will With Mine - Drarry, E, 1.9k, a massive collab so here's one of my fifty word segments.
"How can I be sure?" Harry whispers, later—a Muggle hotel bed, his whole body one delicious ache. "You know," Draco answers, but opens for Harry's Legilimens anyway. Harry's favourite chippy order; that first desperate kiss outside the Natural History museum; an unexpected infinity of tenderness. And then the door opens.

“Look at your face, though,” Harry says, and they both watch the photo in silence. In it, Draco’s head dips and raises in a constant, wondering loop, face brightening when he peers into the swaddled bundle as though he’s holding magic itself, a new sun. His unbearably young self untucks the blanket and Scorpius emerges, still wet and crumpled-looking, the small starfish clutch of his hand reaching out, his opening mouth a silent squall.
“I wish I had been there,” Harry says gently, and Draco wishes Harry could have—somehow, impossibly—been there too.

“Yes,” Harry said. “Yes, Draco, yes,” and he scrambled to wriggle out of his jeans.

“The old ways?” Harry said, idly curious, half-listening, and Draco smirked at him.
“Essential magic,” Draco said mischievously. “A blood rite, maybe. Or more simple, and almost certainly more pleasant—a consummation. But something serious, something… with meaning.”
“A consummation,” Harry repeated slowly, and he couldn’t help it, his eyes dropped to Draco’s lips, saw the moment Draco’s mouth opened slightly in surprise. Though maybe it wasn't surprise; Draco must have known, there had been a few times over the years when things between them had nearly tipped over into something else, and now there was nothing but the two of them, a year of togetherness, and matching rings on their fingers.

Right at that moment everything felt fresh to Draco, but especially Potter; the urgency of new sweat, the decisive laughter lines around his eyes from the way he was still smiling at Draco, the dense night-sky sheen of his dark hair, much longer than it had been in school.
“I knew something like this would happen,” Draco said, still staring at Potter’s flank, the skin around the bite that looked very soft, the glimpse of his neat dimpled lower back, the lowslung trousers that could have done with a belt. Draco let the tip of his tongue drift to first one incisor, then the other. He was hungry. “I knew they were going to come after me. I didn’t expect that they’d try to murder me, though. Rude of them.”

HP Rec Fest, Day 4
As a big enthusiast of HP art I couldn’t be more excited about today’s prompt from @hprecfest. In my experience, the fic + art combo always feels like a special treat and makes the reading experience all the more immersive and magical. If you’re a Drarry fan make sure to check the HD Big Bang Fest which brings amazing collabs between writers and artists. I was hard pressed to rec my all-time fave A Sword Laid Aside by @korlaena with stunning artwork by @saulaie, but in the spirit of reccing new, lesser known works I’ve picked 2 Drarry fics and 1 rarepair. this is such a cool and creative case fic, I was hooked since the start and can’t believe how CBG’s origami art only enhanced the sense of mystery and the story’s creepy, dream-like quality. brilliantly well thought and executed, I promise this will haunt you for a while!

Just like the story, Joy’s art is rich, creative and tender, with layers of soft angst expertly woven underneath 🤌🏼

I was immediately sold on this hot tattooed power couple being sexy & tender across a series of deliciously intimate slice of life vignettes.

New things I tried: As always, I wrote for fandoms and pairings I hadn't before. I also wrote original fic again after at least 10 years of not doing that. And my goal for this year was to practice smut, and I did, and at least I learned why I'm not very good at it, so I guess that's something XD
Fic I spent the most time on: Hm, I don’t know. I’m usually a quick writer once I have an idea. Maybe Gotta risk it for the biscuit, just because it's the longest fic I've written this year.
Fic I spent the least time on: As I said, I'm usually a quick writer anyway. It's probably one of those short prompt fics I did.
Favourite thing I wrote: Hmmm. Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within). I didn't plan to write smut there at all, but I love how it turned out.

Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected? Well, my goal was to write 50.000 words this year, and I did just a bit more, so I guess it's about what I expected :D
Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion: Most of my fics are rarepairs, so I never expect much feedback anyway. I did think that night watch and hard and fast would be more popular though. I know it's not the fandom's favourite pairing, and I very much wrote them for myself, but I didn't think that there was no audience at all for them. Ah well, they're still my OTP in that fandom.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within), because I hadn't planned to write it that way.
Biggest Disappointment: I mean, not getting feedback is always a bit disappointing, but all in all, there wasn't that much to be disapppointed about this year.
Biggest Surprise: I did not think I would ever write Detective Conan fic, and Heiji/Kazuha at that. If you told 12 year old me, she would think you were insane XD
My Favourite Part Of Fandom This Year: Getting into Steter. Both the Valentine's exchange and the Secret Santa were wonderful, and everyone is absolutely lovely and very generous with their feedback and comments.
Writing goals for next year: Write more original fic.
