At long last, my sixth batch of completed cards for my ongoing and very long term project! My attention has definitely been in a whole tonne of places this year but I am still very much wanting to complete the set, I'm deep enough now that I've just gotta keep going! This lot, as well as featuring a heap of angst and poor lost souls being torn in different directions, features three fabulous guest artists; @theninabird (Nine of Swords), @quinnimae (Two of Wands) and @mafumafuriah (Six of Swords) and can I just say I adore each of those pieces so very very much.

In the Glade of the Moon-hares

Super excited to be doing an art trade with the incredibly sweet and amazingly talented @quinnimae, and honestly couldn’t be more flattered that they wanted Ahuska included in their piece!

So here she is showing the adorable Mio a secret little nature watching spot out in the ranges on Concord Dawn, and being very invested in how Mio reacts to seeing the native critters out and about, foraging in the moonlight. Big illustrations like this always take so much more time and effort and focus and fussing, but I’m always so pleased to see them through, and I got to put together so many things I love here.

A commission for @storyknitter of Eli’anara and Corran, childhood friends who eventually found both adventure and love with each other ♡

We went through a few possibilities for the composition of this one before finally landing on this, in which I wanted to represent Eli’anara's energy and Corran's tendency to be swept up into it :)

I had a lot of fun designing her tattoos as well! An unexpected bonus, and it was genuinely such a fun experience working with Storyknitter for how they'd look and what Ellie would choose for herself - thank you for the opportunity.

Golden Hour A commission for Gecko of his Sith Pureblood OC, Ausarah. The concept was to explore a moment of contemplation, outside of his calling and responsibilities as a Sith Lord - I really worked to try and capture that feeling of refinding yourself in nature, reconnecting with who you are outside of your work.

It was also really fun to be able to work on an autumn piece while watching the leaves turn red and golden outside of my own window, so thank you to Gecko for trusting in my rough colours palette!

Always With Me This is a commissioned portrait of Nahri, a travelling divination mage born in the valleys of Nibenay. With the plans her family had for her upended by the Three Alliance War, Nahri's fate was instead entrusted in a swift escape across the border to Elsweyr, which has left her future uncertain and her previously held convictions shaken. While alone, she has decided to again take control over her own fate, and holds on to the memories of her family while taking on the journey to reunite with them once again - no matter what challenges may be awaiting. 

As always, it has been so wonderful to collaborate with another creator to bring their idea to life! Her writer was a joy to work with, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to capture the feeling of loss and uncertainty in this portrait, while still incorporating the determination she holds onto home with. Thank you to Kaouthia for approaching me with the concept, and for sharing Nahri's story with me. ♡

The Ritual A young sorceress realizing her true power, standing at the precipice of a decision that will impact the rest of her life. Is it a joyous moment, or one that foreshadows a darker twist later?... that's something that has yet to be written-! This piece is a birthday gift for my partner, part of a series following Dianon's growth as a character year by year since 2016. I loved exploring a few different themes here and a visual interpretation of 'blood, sweat, and tears', of giving something your all, as well as being able to create something that explores both sci-fi and fantasy motifs.

pocky break A sketch commission of Kate, an incredibly written character who I'm so happy to have been commissioned for at the beginning of her new chapter! Previously following the path of the Jedi, Kate has felt forced to look for meaning elsewhere after being failed time and time again, and now looks to another philosophy entirely for meaning and strength.

What isn't there to love about her concept and design?? Thank you to Cindy and Paige for indulging my weakness for a little bit of cyberpunk :D

"wait for the rain to stop" (2021) This is my half of an art trade with the wonderful @vikobelo!! This piece is of Chul, a tired underworld medic, and Aldas, an enforcer with a penchant for chaotic... good? I wanted to represent a moment of after Chul had treated an injury, and them sharing a smoke before Aldas rushes off with apology boba for his boyfriend (Chett) ♡

Thank you so, so much to Viko for this wonderful art trade experience and letting me interpret Aldas in my style! He is such a fun and memorable personality and this was a genuine joy :D

Summer Memories ⛅

A commission piece of Varna and Keenor, two Echani characters whose story is both sweet and tragic. I was approached to represent a memory in their late teens that is now tinged by the darkness later to come - I adored the concept, and had a lot of fun bringing their home planet to life!
