Deborah Jane Leng Burgess is a model and actress, and Roger met her on the set of his side band The Cross' video-clip "Cowboys and Indians" (1987). She next appeared as the masked lady in Queen’s “Breakthru”. Debbie started her modeling under the artistic name of Debbie Du-Bell in 1982, and represented the UK in the 1986 edition of Supermodel of the World. She created a sensation in 1987 when she became the iconic Cadbury's Flake girl in a TV commercial and got axed three years later for being "too sexy".

Roger and Debbie’s relationship was immediately object of interest for tabloids, especially since he married his previous girlfriend Dominique in 1988 to secure their two children and the media didn't understand their relationship was actually over, and Roger he soon moved in a new mansion with Debbie. Another object of scandal was the alleged diffusion of a sex tape between the two, and the media never failed to point out their age difference of 14 years. The drummer of a world famous band and a beautiful supermodel couldn’t stay out of the spotlight, after all...

However, besides often appearing together at events, concerts and parties, looking dashing and rich, what happened privately in their lives seems to remain very private. (short to say I’m not really finding much out there besides gossip articles mentioned above). Of course, Debbie is a beautiful woman and always looks friendly and smiling around her family, often having fun with Roger, but there's not much additional information about her personality.

They had Rufus, Tigerlily and Lola together and it appears that Debbie has stayed a lot by Roger’s side after Freddie’s death. “Freddie Mercury was still alive when Rufus came along in 1991 and those two got on famously. Mind you, Fred was always fabulous with kids — he was the one who came up with Rufus’s middle name: Tiger.”  They split in around 2004, but they still have a close relationship nowadays and Debbie introduced Tigerlily and Lola to the modeling world, following her steps, while Rufus is drummer of The Darkness, much like Roger.

“Although Rufus’s mum [Deborah Leng] and I were together for about 15 years, we never did get married. I also had Felix and Rory Eleanor from a previous relationship [with Dominique Beyrand], but in that situation, we did eventually tie the knot. I guess I wanted to make sure Felix and Rory were looked after financially. “I’ll admit my life back then was, well… let’s say it was complicated. It was a strange time for all of us. Wouldn’t it be great if relationships were simple and easy? Sadly, breaking up with people who mean a lot to you is never simple or easy. The important thing for me has always been that the kids support each other and feel like brothers and sisters. There’s not some from “this relationship” and some from “that relationship”; they are a gang of five.” (Roger in 2014)

“Mum and Dad never actually got married, but their separation was still pretty rough. There was a bit of shouting for a while and a few headlines, but, y’know what: shit happens. People split up. Both of them have gone off and done their own thing, and they’ve got a much better relationship these days.” (Rufus in 2014)

Am I the only one who thinks Azriel's bonus chapter was about him being jealous of his brothers and whining about not having a mate and try to reason how Elain should've been his but when we get to the end of chapter we realise that he's been truly blind as a bat that he can't see that his mate has been under his nose all along...

Like I didn't even had to read about all the mating bond languages that sjm been copy pasting with her mated couple to know Gwynriel is a mated couple (even tho they're true but as a casual reader you might not notice at first)

It's srsly that easy I don't know what these idiots are talking about!! Making theories out of their a*ses and keep telling us to read between the lines... istg I see a new theory out of that bonus chapter and they also keep saying it doesn't mean anything bc it wasn't part of the book...

nope! you're not the only one, that was my first initial impression too. as soon as i finished acosf, i said to myself, "oh my god, e/riel is dead" and his chapter only solidified it for me

his chapter isn't romantic, like at all. it's moreso showing us how lonely az truly is and how he's let that fester and make him act out. yes, there's some cute moments with gwyn and his shadows, but ultimately it's about how far az has fallen mentally. kinda like nesta in acofas. no matter what that side claims, he's not happy and in love, he's not doing well in the slightest

it's so amusing to me how they flip flop on whether his bonus chapter counts or not lol i've seen them say that it both confirms e/riel and sets up their forbidden romance trope and that it's also not canon because it's a bonus. while yes it is a bonus, it's definitely still canon, it's just not necessary to understand the rest of the book/series

recently, i've ventured into other sides of the internet, sides also filled with "theories" and i've come to realize that if someone wants something enough, they'll see anything as a connection and confirmation of whatever it is that they want. it doesn't mean that it's actually true and will happen. i fully believe this is how e/riels' brains work too, and it's caused their fandom to adapt this hive mind where if you disagree even a little bit, you get bullied and kicked out (i've seen actual former e/riels say this happens)

at the end of the day sjm writes for herself first and foremost, whatever she wants, she gets. she also loves the mate trope, despite what some people want to believe, and happy endings and the way i see it is that e/riel can't happen for everyone to end up happy. see how i don't need to make up bread recipes or a secret baby to make my ships happen? as a sjm reader since 2013, being able to recognize what tropes she likes and her writing style is all the "proof" i need

Last but not least, here are some info about Roger and Sarina! Sarina Rose Potgieter was born in South Africa and at the age of 12 moved to Johannesburg in order to attend the National School of the Arts where she was accepted into their ballet program. She moved into the Drama program for the final two years of her schooling. Upon leaving the arts school, Sarina turned her hand to studying Make Up Artistry and Theatre Crafts at The Tshwane University Of Technology in Pretoria. She specialized in Prosthetics and special effects, prop making and set design. She then went on to dance professionally for many years in a number of theatrical productions worldwide.

In 2013 Sarina successfully moved into the realm of film, both as an actress and producer, and she's now active promoter of her and Roger's clothing brand "Taylored of London".

Roger met her in 2004 and they married on October 3rd 2010 at their home in Surrey, after a six year long stable relationship: "The 36-year-old bride wore a purple wedding dress and the celebrations had a black and red theme as the pair staged an unusual ceremony at their home in Surrey last Saturday. Says a friend: 'The whole event was very low-key but incredible fun and light-hearted. All they wanted was a really big knees-up with their pals rather than a formal white wedding. 'The reception was in a huge black and red marquee in their garden and all the waiters wore black. The tables were black and they even had black patent leather sofas outside. The theme was almost bondage.' A guest said: 'The music didn't stop before sunrise.'"

Sarina is a young and smart lady, often sharing her life on social media and actively promoting Roger's brand and Queen's activities, definitely bringing a spark of youth into Roger. While Roger got his first tattoo with Debbie, Sarina is also a huge fan of tattoos and both had their collection of tats growing during the years, thanks to the artist Manuela Gray.

She says, "Roger and I have an amazing relationship. We both understand that in order to be happy together, we need to allow each other the space and environment to constantly grow as human beings and to remain true to our individual paths. "We have a lot of fun together. Roger is extremely supportive of everything I do, as I am of him, and we manage to spend a lot of quality time together in between work schedules." Tang and Scorpion Demon friendship headcanons? Please?

* Scorpion Demoness LOVES to listen Tang’s stories, both of old legends and of his adventures. He may or may not make himself sound more heroic than he actually was, and she may or may not know that he is. She lets him do it anyways; he’s having fun, so why ruin it for him?

* (THIS IS WHAT I MADE BEFORE THE WHOLE SEASON 4 BEING RELEASED FIASCO HAPPENED SO UHH. SORRY FOR THE EXTRA DELAY??? ANYWAYS CONTINUING ON!)

* I think she’s also a bit of a foodie herself, so they really bond over good food. And therefore a lot of their hang outs either end or start at Pigsy’s! (She sometimes feels like the third wheel when it’s her and Tang that are meant to be hanging out bc of him and Pigsy bicker-flirting; she gets back at him tho by gushing over Spider Queen)

* I think she’s super strong. Like so strong she doesn’t even realize her own strength. They pass by the arcade Mei and MK like to play in and decide to try a couple games, one being a test of strength type game. She breaks it the second she touches it. They immediately run away from the crime scene

* Bc I am incapable of not including my ships in some way: Double dates! The first one is always as hell bc. Well. Spider Queen not only flirted with Pigsy (and Tang but that did Not work), but also kinda maybe planned on eating them? Haha, it’s okay she’s past that now! Doesn’t mean she won’t tease them a bit and mumble something like “This would taste better with some mortal blood mixed in” as she sips on her drink, side eyeing the scholar and pig man. Meanwhile Scorpion Demoness is just clung to her arm and when she asks “What was that, sweetie?” (Unaware), SQ just smiles sweetly and says “Nothing~!”

* Tang: Really? Spider Queen? Sure she’s pretty (from an aesthetic point not romantic of course), but she’s evil!No offense but you can do better! SD: … A Pigman- Tang: HES AN AMAZING COOK AND A KIND MAN!!! HE IS ALSO A LOVING (while strict!) FATHER!!! HE’S A DILF SCORPS-! SD: Augh, no, Tangy!! Don’t call him that! Tang: A /DILF/!!!!!!!!

* Now this kind of doesn’t work with most of my headcanons but the scenario is in my head now so: They wingman for each other but by trying to make their respective crushes jealous; SD gushes about Tang like she’s interested in him around/to Pigsy and vice versa. This backfires in the sense that they do get jealous but now SD is banned from Pigsy’s and Tang almost gets eaten again

* They have a book club that’s just the two of them at first but she convives Tang to let Yin, Jin, the purple demon lady (idk what we call her), and the… Little guy… forgot what he’s called, join them! It is the most chaotic and rowdy book club there has ever been

* SD always wanted to have a cliche sleepover and Tang is more than happy to indulge her. They paint each others nails (neither are very good at it; SD is a margin better tho and gets better over time. Tang does not), do face masks and play games like MASH. SD maybe suggests doing a spooky activity like chanting Bloody Mary 3 times in the bathroom. Tang maybe has a heart attack when supernatural stuff actually starts happening. They maybe have to call MK and Mei to save them from said supernatural stuff. They talk about their crushes, oooh~
