In Azriel’s bonus chapter there’s a part that says “Too many wants and needs left his skin overheated and pulling taut across his bones. So he slept only when his body gave out, and even then only for a few hours.”

And this is also said (idk how many chapters before Az’s chapter) "Can't sleep?" Cassian took up a fighting stance. A shadow curled around Azriel's neck, the only one brave enough to face the sunlight. "Something like that," he said.

Was this a slight reference to him jerking off to the fantasies of Elain (the fantasies that E/riel’s think are romantic💀)? It could be a mix of both Azriel pleasuring himself and him being an insomniac/trauma preventing him from sleeping. I still can’t believe he jerks off to headache medicine. I remember when someone said “I wonder if Truth-Teller allowed Elain to travel through the shadows so that it could "strike true" or if Elain is a low key shadowsinger.” - when ACOWAR came out. E/riel’s use Elain stepping out of a shadow, and that Feyre said to Azriel that Elain has him beat for secret keeping, and Elain sneaking up on Nesta, as foreshadowing her becoming a spy. I think they’re only coming up with those theories to tie her and Azriel together. Characterization be damned.

Someone said that they wonder if Gwyn knows that the necklace was meant for Elain/someone else, and she could possibly scent both Azriel and Elain on the necklace. Maybe that’s why we haven’t seen Gwyn wear it (or maybe she just doesn’t want to or doesn’t like necklaces). Imagine if she actually was able to smell both of their scents on it. I don’t think the necklace will end up being this big thing though, which I will be glad for.

Random, but I remember in ACOSF when Eris arrived at the BOE manor and he was able to sniff that Mor had been there (surprising Cassian), and I think it’s possible that Gwyn has a strong sense of smell, so maybe she could somehow be related to Eris.👀

oh yeah i do think this is a possibility but also, in my head, i feel like gwyn is just... confused by it? like she's smart, i highly doubt it took her very long to figure out who gave it to her, powerful sense of smell or not. she might be wondering what this means exactly, you know? or it could be similar to how i view elain keeping lucien's jacket, it's stored away in her room somewhere and she takes it out every now and again for a sense of comfort

Lightsingers could be Shadowsingers counterparts. I know E/riel’s like to use this to paint Gwyn as evil *me rolling my eyes at this theory*, but we don’t even know (or have seen them) if they sing. Azriel is a Shadowsinger and he doesn’t need to sing when he uses his powers. I saw someone wonder if Azriel has beast form as a Shadowsinger and maybe Gwyn will have one as a Lightsinger and be able to calm him down. Also, it’s probably been so long since anyone has even seen a Lightsinger, so who is to say that history hasn’t been misdirected. And if Gwyn does turn out to be a Lightsinger, if Sarah somehow confirms this before a book is released, this will only make me believe that Gwynriel has a stronger chance of being endgame. Gwyn possibly being a Lightsinger isn’t the serve E/riel’s think it is. This only gives a further connection to Gwynriel. And this would be a big plot point. There’s no way this wouldn’t, so…

i admit i do like the idea that lightsingers, or at least gwyn if she's one, could be the counterpart to az being a shadowsinger. obviously we have the light/dark motif with them and it'd make them even more equal in my eyes, but i just can't get fully behind the theory because this fandom has absolutely ruined it for me

but yeah no i totally agree that if gwyn does end up being a lightsinger, sjm isn't making her an evil one. anyone who actually believes that is dense, i'm sorry

Do you think Azriel isn’t used to being teased or flirted with? Possibly because people are scared and intimidated by him or it’s been a while. I feel like Gwyn wouldn’t be afraid to tease him or flirt with him and it would take him aback if he’s not used to it. He might even like it. In his bonus chapter when he was with her it felt like he wasn’t overthinking. He just lets himself feel.

ooo! i never really thought about this but, yes, i do. in a way at least. like it's obvious he's attractive and has had his fair share of lovers but he can definitely be intimidating. even if people flirt with him, i don't see them being as... hm... open as gwyn? if that makes sense. like that girl is not scared of him at all lmfao and he totally loves that about her

like imagine being him and you're this dark, broody killer, that everyone knows as cruel and they balk from your very existence. you've given up on finding someone who truly sees you and your self worth is so far in the toilet, you've lost hope of ever getting it unclogged (forgive the bad imagery) and then this spunky, charismatic and irreverent redhead comes along and just does not give one single fuck about your background, only that she wants to beat you at everything and then rub your face in it. there's a reason that az is so amused and smiles often in her presence, he likes her, and that makes others upset 🤭

i agree that he needs an unconditional love so i do think that during his journey sjm will have him realize he doesn't need a mate to not feel broken, but he'll still 100% end up with his mate in my opinion, sarah loves her mates and happy endings too much. and as you, and many others have pointed out, he would never feel secure with elain. firstly, their relationship wouldn't push him to truly heal and realize his self worth. and secondly, he would always be questioning why he doesn't have a mate. overall it would be very unhealthy for both of them

Where Gwyn is Nesta's first proper friend. She is the first to sign up for training. Where they make friendship bracelets together and have sleepovers. Where they train together almost everyday and become valkyries. Where Gwyn is the first to cut the ribbon. Where they went into the blood rite and won it together. Where Gwyn confesses to Nesta and Emerie about her struggles with losing her twin sister and the guilt she feels surrounding it. How she still refuses to wear the stone because she doesn't feel worthy of it. Where it ended with Sarah telling us that even though Gwyn would love to do more, she still went back to the library. Handing us that shit on a silverplatter that Gwyn's journey is not yet over.

Where, in Az' bonus chapter, she was in the second half of it, smiling at his shadows and teasing him. Where it ended with Az thinking about her (Gwyn), and her joy and how he had to stop himself from smiling when he thought of her teal eyes.

...Then maybe... you just.... didn't.... read the book... nor the bc...
