Anything with hands and wrists makes me just absolutely swoon. And the way she goes directly from describing that into describing her fantasy that Harrow will hear how outstanding and hot she was on the battlefield and be impressed? Sometimes I can line those thoughts up just right and the Samsung logo will hit the exact corner of my brain screen and then I burst into tears.

Which was your favorite arc? I think the first arc is a lot stronger in terms of plot, relationships and overall vibe but I liked the characters and magic system a tiny bit better in the second arc + Darkstalker (Qibli my beloved)

ooh i think i'd have to agree with you on arcs, the first one was very engaging and well done but i just loved the second arc, especially everything with moonwalker and them finally revealing everything about the nightwings i thought that was super interesting

i had to think about this one for a bit because i’m not actually sure i started listening to anyone new this year that really pulled me in. so many of my favorites released new music, so i mostly listened to that.

that said, i (finally) put on rina sawayama’s new album a couple weeks back and i love it. so let’s go with her! honorable mentions to lizzy mcalpine and georgia marley, neither of whom i have sought out on my own yet, but they’re always on whatever playlist is playing in one of my discords, and every time i think, “i like this, i should listen to the album.”

I think the ghastly teenagers are often described as having a thyroid hyperfunction and Colum as being hypothyroid? weirdly specific foils. also I would be interested if (when?) the narrative stops calling the two ghastly/discussing/etc. prolly shortly before they die?

ive seen some pie charts of character epithets/names do you perchance know if this is one blog in particular or is there one you are acquainted with who does that.

OH ok so the ghastly teenagers are 2x (GtN p. 170, p. 269) described as having a pituitary problem, likely due to the pituitary gland being the "grandmaster" of the endocrine (hormone) system and, being teenagers, they are in the THICK of it. and I love that actually like in tandem with Gideon having an acne problem, love to see that specific physical part of teenagerhood presented here.

It is actually Ortus who is described as hyperthyroid (GtN p. 295) (my guess is TM meant hypothyroidism and nobody caught the error -- Ortus is frequently described as variations of "large" and one of the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism is weight gain + fatigue, wheras hyperthyroidism is more frequently associated with uncontrolled weight loss + higher energy levels.)

Colum is described as jaundice (GtN p. 189, 297), which is due to excess bilirubin (related to liver malfunction) and can result in yellow skin and sclera (whites of the eyes turn yellow). (this also tracks with Colum elsehwere (p. 314) being described as looking as if he had a liver inflamation))

Last song: Bend Your Mind by Elysian Fields. Can’t remember where I found this song but I’ve been getting the hankering to listen to it a lot.

Currently watching: I don’t tend to watch too many things. I can confidently say the last show I watched was Arcane. Really eager for that second season!

Currently Reading: I have a lot of books sort of in progress. I tend to get distracted though. I was reading This is How You Lose The Time War. It’s been really good so far. I also read a lot of TLT fan fiction. There are a lot of really talented writers out there. Still blows me away these hidden gems.

Current Obsession: It’s definitely The Locked Tomb for the most part. Honestly, I’m trying to be normal about it but it’s so hard. I often find myself in a funk where I don’t really feel anything about anything. TLT made me feel everything all at once and I’m still reeling from it.
