hi ! in your post on your favorite books about ancient Rome, you recommended Marcus Agrippa : Right-hand Man of Caesar Augustus, by Lindsay Powell. do you know where i could find a copy/pdf online ?
Get thee to Hoopla, my dear anon! You can borrow the book for free as long as you have a library membership and the library subscribes there. It's usually my go-to if my own library doesn't have a book available.
If your local library doesn't use Hoopla, you can probably buy a non-resident library membership that does, or get the book through interlibrary loan.
There are also less legal methods, and I'll admit to using them if I really can't get a book legally (or it's absurdly expensive)...but I do recommend supporting authors and libraries when you can. It helps the libraries stay open and funds the authors' hard work!

Tiny Navajo Reads: Strange Weather in Tokyo
This was an interesting book…a short book, but the way that it was written and the context that it was given made it a harder book to read for me. But an interesting take on what it means to be alone and to be lonely. Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromo Kawakami Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami, translated by Allison Markin Powell ◆ ◆ ◆ ◇ ◇ As stated above, this is a short book and…

Middle School Monday: The Swifts: A Dictionary of Scoundrels by Beth Lincoln, with illustrations by Claire Powell
Shenanigan Swift is a little sister and a troublemaker. Growing up with her sisters Felicity and Phenomena, plus Uncle Maelstrom and Arch-Aunt Schadenfreude, Shenanigan definitely lives up to her name by making lots of mischief. But since everyone in the Swift family was named by a random word in the Family Dictionary, is it possible that Shenanigan has no control over what kind of person she is?
Shenanigan is obsessed with finding the treasure that was rumored to be hidden in their house by her Grand-Uncle Vile. Unfortunately, everyone else in the family wants to find the treasure, too. And when the Swift Family Reunion begins, there will be many more family members all searching at the same time. But when one of those relatives pushes Arch-Aunt Schadenfreude down the stairs, things get a lot more complicated. Will Shenanigan be able to locate the treasure AND find the criminal in their midst?
Give this book to older kids and younger teens who enjoy smart protagonists, twisty mysteries, and suspenseful stories!

Just wanted to say thank you for always making my day brighter. Every time your username pops up in my notifications, I get so happy! Love you, mean it!! 😘😘
Oh my gosh, Ren!!
So I'm going to start by saying I saw this ask about 3 hours after you sent it, the day before yesterday, and I spent maybe an hour just looking at it and trying to find some words in my mind that could possibly express how happy I felt when I read this. I've gone back and looked at it at least 4 times and this one message has brought me so much joy in the last 2 days; It was the last thing I looked at before taking my Chemistry Exam. I don't think I can ever thank you enough for saying that because it means so much to me. ESPECIALLY COMING FROM YOU!!!
I seriously adore you and your blog so much. You're so kind and supportive and every time I interact with you or your work, I leave the experience feeling so loved and happy and I don't stop smiling for at least 10 minutes. Seriously, thank you. I hope you know, whenever I see your username pop up on my notifications, I get just as happy and I love you so much, dude! 💖💕💖💕💖

The Meaning of Flowers: A Garland of Plant Lore and Symbolism from Popular Culture & Literature
Claire Powell
Shambhala 1979
This is a rather early Shambhala publication, and it’s really quite beautiful. A book of flower lore, it’s printed in three colors and has lovely historical woodcut illustrations.
