Oc Rant Incoming

I like writing for Tara a lot, mainly because she fills the role of "Hero Who Is An Absolutely Horrible Person" in a completely opposite way as Lady Justice.

Lady Justice thinks of heroes, especially herself, as "Better" than any civilian and even "Godlike" and she overall has no respect for anyone, at best you're a fan or just amusing and she chums up to you at worst... Well... I based her on Freelander a little and it shows.

Tara is very different in this regard. She views herself and the other heroes as expendable fighters, simply here to serve. Nothing more. And she holds herself to the same intense standards she holds to everyone else. She's never known anything else.

She doesn't want fame or glory, she just wants to fight for people. She even cares about her wards in an incredibly messed up way, but there is a love there. Very much scraping the barrel, but still true.

None of this excuses her actions but it explains them

How long have you liked Big Nate for?? How'd you get into it? :-D

Ooh gosh, kinda a hard question to answer. I think I first came across Big Nate on Poptropica (surprisingly the game is made by the Jeff Kinney Company so DoaWK related) which I played since 2006 when I came across it in a Total Girl magazine (magazine for like preteen girls)

About ten years ago, I (and I have no idea why) shipped Gina x Nate.

Not sure what or who got me back into it in 2021 but then I started a little one-woman fan band by myself. Then @until-another-one-comes came along and in the nicest way possible, got me obsessed. Unfortunately, it got a bit out of hand as I spiralled into a trauma based psychosis. But @until-another-one-comes stuck by me, even asking my sister if I was okay which was honestly really sweet!

We shared many a fanfic and fanart and so many headcanons! And sparked my love of Rarcus!

I'm still a fan of Big Nate, especially the novel In The Zone which made me ship Artur x Nate.

These days, I'm more into Fireman Sam, thanks to Emily messaging me on Deviantart about my 2021 trans Elvis headcanon art and have been a bit more on that train, in a thankfully healthy way.

I'm still around if people want to ask or share about Big Nate! I'd even be watching the show if they bring out more!

Chief Inspector Black Widow - A world famous painter using her popularity as a cover for her actual job as a crimefighter. She regularly travels to track down criminals under the guise of “artistic business trips”.

Prince Mordred of Arturus - Through a complicated set of circumstances, Mordred ended up raised by the royal family. He’s a brave knight and a well liked leader, but is deep down very sad from the loss of his adoptive sister. He’s the one you save on Astroknights.

Captain Crawfish - Captain of a merchant ship, left his struggling port to try and find help and sailed far enough to come across the modern islands. He now works as a go-between, delivering supplies and help from modern poptropica to his own old fashioned home.
