recipe for a DOPE pomegranate syrup i made just now
peel a pomegranate! (cut top out like a pumpkin, then score down the sides like ur cutting an orange. then peel seeds out into a rice strainer filled with water. the white bits will float to the top and u can pick them out! strain and pat dry.)
wait for a week or so so u have old pomegranate seeds. alternatively you can do this with fresh ones but if you dont use all of them whenever u opened it. do this
pour them into a little sauce pan on low-mid heat
add in like 2-3 small-ish spoonfuls of sugar, to taste basically
add in a little water!!! just a small amnt so ur sugar etc doesnt burn
KEEP STIRRING
keep stirring and lower heat a bit once it gets thicker, 5ish minutes is how long it took me, but mine was thin!
strain seeds out, or if youre me, just pour straight onto vanilla ice cream and hold back the seeds with a spoon. live life on the edge.
ENJOY !!!! idk how you'd store this but id recommend a jar and for not longer than a week without propper canning!

For Affogato/Pomegranate, maybe the fankid could take the ice cream aspect from Affogato making them along the lines of a Pomegranate Sundae or just Pomegranate Ice Cream?
Hmm, I kind of like that idea. I think I’ll go with Pomegranate Sundae, considering I feel like I use Ice Cream too much (I don’t think I do, I just feel like I do. Also I like Pomegranate Sundae more)

you spin yarn? :O whats that like ive been really wanting to try it!! also pomegranate molasses sounds delicious
yeah!!!!! i'm super new to it but it's SO fun!! it's a really neat like, hands-on hobby-- pretty much everything like knitting or sewing or embroidery or what have you has like, a big you-should-really-pay-attention-to-this component, right? you need to keep your eye on yr pattern or yr stitches or smth. spinning (at least, what i've been doing-- just plain single ply + using my ma's ashford double drive spinning wheel) is like... once you get the hang of it it's almost subconscious. there's barely any thinking component to it, other than like, adjusting the tension occasionally, making sure yr spinning evenly, etc. it almost kind of reminds me of driving on a highway? you have to keep focused or you'll fuck up, but after a while it's really just. mostly muscle memory. also it's SO fucking satisfying it's just so fun oh my god. really rewarding to see you have a whole spindle of yarn you made. also it's like, quicker & therefore more instant gratification than knitting or something!! theres also probably just an adhdautism aspect of "this is just a simple repetitive rhythmic motion you keep going" that's... very alluring sdkfdgkf.

Grenadine
Tumblr media
Grenadine I'm sure, brings back childhood memories to every French person (in their mid-thirties at least!) When, I was little the sticky red pomegranate syrup was diluted in water, and would be, with menthe à l'eau, a favourite drink to have with your goûter (tea-time snack!) Grown-ups would favour it in cocktails or topped with beer to make a Monaco! Now I prefer it mixed in cocktails myself, and I fancied trying making my own! It is still sticky and sweet, but a tad less than those one buys in the shops!
Ingredients (makes about 3/4 cup):
3/4 of a large, juicy pomegranate
1/2 cup caster sugar
Make sure you're not wearing white, and thoroughly squeeze pomegranate, crushing its seeds into a bowl.
Strain pomegranate juice into a saucepan through a fine mesh sieve, crushing the seeds with a potato masher.
Stir in caster sugar and bring to a simmer over a medium flame, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved.
Then, reduce heat to low, and simmer, about 5 minutes until the syrup just thickens.
Pour Grenadine into a sterelised glass bottle. Once opened, keep in the refrigerator, three weeks to a month.
Use Grenadine in cocktails, or top with plain or sparkling water for a nostalgic drink!

If there's a million idiots in the world, my dad's the biggest one. If there's a thousand idiots in the world, my dad's the biggest one. If there's a hundred, ten whatever my dad's still the biggest one. If there's no idiots in the world my dad would be dead.

Worst part of finally figuring out I have a cherry allergy is I can no longer drink bottled Shirley Temples, those sodas are cut with cherry flavoring and it sucks 😔

I’ve been stuck in a purgatory of having to get my groceries delivered for like two months which of course means the big grocery stores only, and no trips to the market and it’s been SO expensive
I was finally able to go to the market today, and I’m so pissed because I got so many veggies for such a smaller price it’s so annoying. the veg are the same cost as they were pre covid which means the grocery stores are gouging and increasing the cost of living of their own volition
which we kind of already knew, but still :<
