“What do you like about him?” someone asks you.

Po is the Dragon warrior of the valley of Peace, of course everyone loves him, but no one loves him more than you do.

When you and Po make it official, he basically would talk about it NON STOP.

Out on a mission? He tells the furious 5 that he misses you already, even though he just left the valley a minute ago.

AND can see your figure in the distance, watching him wave farewell by the bridge

Out to another part of China and staying at an inn? He’d tell the innkeeper about having a partner and would tell them all the amazing things about you

Maybe even the embarrassing ones too, but not on purpose!

He just pays close attention to you, loves you and every part of you

He fights enemies? Po had always been one to talk during battle. So to no one’s surprise, as he’s kicking butts he’d tell the enemy that he has a partner that he so adores, and who he misses so much

It gets pretty annoying for the enemies to the point they just have the urge to beat him up even more. Not they can but oh well.

One of Po’s favourite moments is when he sees your face when he comes back from a mission

Your smile and the way you’d run up to him to give him a big hug.

You're smaller than him, but even they he could feel how tight you wrap your (wings/paws/arms) around him.

Just by your hug alone he can tell how much you missed him as well

“Po you're back! How was the mission? Were you hurt?” you’d ask while checking his whole body for any cuts, injuries and bruises.

If you catch him come back home with an injury no matter how small, you’d yell and panic while dragging him back to the village to attend to him

Even if he tell you over and over it’s fine and that it doesn't hurt as much, you refuse to let him walk around with an injury

He loves that you care so much about him.

Po loves to bring back souvenirs for you as well when he goes out on a mission.

Be it keychains, posters, food or anything.

If he sees something cool that he knows you’d like he’d get it.

You appreciate all of the gifts he gives you and keep it on a shelf in your home that you have dedicated to the stuff Po gives you.

Whenever he visits your place, he’d take a glance at that shelf and smile to himself.

Happy that you appreciate his gifts enough to dedicate a whole shelf for it.

Po makes some of the best noodles in the village

He is the son of Mr. Ping, the goose who owns the best noodle shop in town

Whenever you both decide to have a chill date, you’d both go up your favourite hill and enjoy some of Po’s noodles

“Po seriously you can do EVERYTHING! Kick butts, save the world and make noodles!” you praised him, while gulping down his noodles

“Nahhh my dad makes the best noodles, but I am very good at kicking butts and saving the world" he chuckles, acting all so humble.

You don’t argue though

because even if he thinks he doesn’t make the best noodles, he is right about being good at his job as the dragon warrior.

Po also appreciates that you don’t date him just because he is the dragon warrior.

You don’t treat him like a trophy, make his job the main focus of everything.

You see Po for Po, and you are with him BECAUSE he is him, not the dragon warrior.

If Po starts doubting who he is as a person, you gently remind him and lead him back to the right path and show him who he truly is.

“Never lose sight of who you are, Po.”

When the valley is in danger, his very first instinct is to find you and protect you. He knows that the safety of everyone else in the valley is in good hands… paws and wings.

He’d (try) run to where you live and when he finds you he will be very relieved.

If you are unharmed this is how he’d react:

“(Name) I’m so glad you're safe” and just like you, he’d check your body for any injuries. “I’ll get you out of here okay? Just stay with my dad and I’ll find you once this is all over.”

“Okay, please be careful Po,” you nodded in agreement, holding his paws with a worried expression.

“I promise.” He would do anything to keep his promise. Po couldn't bear to break it

If you are harmed this is how he’d react:

When Po finds you harmed, be it with any of your body parts stuck under rubble or getting an injury that causes you to be in pain…

He’d panic and the anger sets in

He’d save you first, carry you bridal style and run away from the scene leaving the enemy (if there is any) with the furious 5 “You're going to be just fine (name)! I promise you so don’t leave me now!”

It’s clear in his face that he is very, very worried for you and your wellbeing

Po would put the blame on himself if he ever lost you.

Will think it's all his fault that he wasn't by your side to protect you

You being attentive as always even when in pain, realise this and gently smiled at him with all the strength you have left

“Po, I’m going to be just fine, okay? Don’t worry. I won’t leave you”

With your whispered reassurance, he becomes less tense and nods. Believing your words.

There was just no way you’d leave him here all alone. You will be with him through every step of the way, and him with you.

When everything is done and he defeats the enemy, he’ll find you ( and his dad) immediately.

Overall, Po would be a wonderful boyfriend. He may not be smart, but he does make you feel loved, safe, happy and content.

And that is truly, all that matters.

“Everything” you respond with a smile.

I went to watch Kung Fu Panda 4, and here are some thoughts that have occurred in my mind.

"Spoilers for KFP4"

Master Oogway's quote of "One often meets his destiny on the road he wishes to avoid" came true for Po. This quote by Master Oogway, made to Shifu now came true for Po. In the first movie, Shifu sent Zheng to the prison where Tai Lung was imprisoned, which resulted in Tai Lung's escape. This time, Po in an effort to avoid taking Oogway's position as the spiritual leader, ends up meeting his destiny. First, he gets a vision of what Chameleon will do if she gets her hands on the Staff of Wisdom, then he is able to save Zhen and himself in the prison without using his words and finally he lets Zhen defeat Chameleon, and makes her the new Dragon Warrior.

Chameleon's backstory is a little mixed for me. On one hand, it is sad that she could get to learn kung fu because of her abilities and was turned by various masters. This makes it somewhat similar to Shifu refusing to teach Po, till Master Oogway passed and he figured out that he can use food to motivate Po, suggesting that the other masters were incapable of adapting their training to her abilities. But, this also makes no sense when you have Mantis and Viper, who show they are capable of Kung Fu. We don't know whether the other masters were that rigid? Or were there other reasons.

Po's fathers helped him once again. Both helped him understand that change is not all bad, and even though he screwed up, he can set things right again, helping him understand his new role as well.

The universe in a funny way answered Po, when he asked regarding his successor. In the scene where the petals start blowing, it seems like a comic setup as Po ends up eating and spitting the petals, immediately post that Zhen enters in an attempt to steal something, implying that this was an answer to Po's question.

It was nice to see Tai Lung again, and he sort of seems to have made peace with Po. But he should have gotten a scene with Shifu as well. It would have been interesting to see them interact and have one last conversation.

I found this one out because of behind the scene issues regarding the Furious Five, but they should have been present as well. It would have been nice to see them help Po come to terms with his role and help him. Also, it would have been interesting to see their reactions on Zhen and Po's decision.

Okay so yesterday I binged a bunch of movies that were free on YT, including Kung Fu Pandas 1 and 2 (3 wasn't free so I didn't go looking for it) and I just gotta talk about something interesting, being

Tai Lung wasn't actually a villain?

He was an antagonist sure, but he didn't actually do anything particularly evil.

Walk with me.

So, from what we see in the movie, Tai Lung's first ever act of violence or aggression in about 18, maybe 20 years is the attack on the Valley. Sure, he decapitated a few training dummies leading up to this but yknow so does every member of the Five, so...

What's interesting about this is two things. One, we don't know if he actually killed anybody. We see him chasing people, and properties are on fire, but we don't know if he took any lives. In fact, throughout the entire movie, we don't see him kill anyone. I even looked it up to check and everybody seems to be in concensus that he didn't kill anybody.

And two. Oogway takes Tai Lung down in one move. A four-point nerve strike.

This is interesting because not only did he send Shifu first (to fight his own son no less) but he also waited up in the Jade Palace for Tai Lung to come to them instead of going down and doing that in order to save the people from his rampage. All to protect an empty scroll that Oogway knows is empty because he made it!

After this, Tai lung is locked in the prison. Made especially for him. He sits, on his knees, in a pit. Above him are giant crossbows, archers, and stalactites with bombs attached specifically to crush him to death if perceived necessary.

Pinning him down are chains. The cuffs of these chains are explicitly stated in the second movie to tighten the more the prisoner moves, and at the end of these chains are large boulders weighing him down to the floor.

He also wears a custom-made turtle shell with jade dragon head pins to suppress his chi, cause I guess Oogway's got a mean sense of humor. On top of all this, he is also shown to experience abuse from the guards, as we see one intentionally step in Tai Lung's tail and mock him.

When Tai Lung escapes the prison, he noticeably doesn't kill or even go out of his way or even in his way to kill anybody. We see him given the opportunity to kill and he uses it to just punch a guard back and continue to flee. All of the destruction is caused by the guards trying to prevent his escape. The only particularly violent thing we see him do is throw the bombs at the army of guards to get past them, and they may look dead for dramatic effect but they are actually noticeably alive, we even hear one or two groan.

And on top of all of this, there's on thing that really bothers me. The Wuxi finger hold. We first see it used by Shifu, and then later by Po, after Tai Lung tries to paralyze him out of anger. It is quite safe to assume that Oogway knew this hold (and might've used it to defeat Kai?). Knowing this, why the fuck didn't Oogway use it on Tai Lung when he defeated him??

They are preparing for the Dragon Warrior to very specifically "put a final end to Tai Lung" and I just don't understand why Oogway didn't do it then and there when he used the nerve attack.

There he has Tai Lung, unconscious (or at least immobile) on the floor. Instead of using that moment to take him out permanently, he puts him into a very inhumane, quite torturous prison for about 20 years while he has Shifu train a bunch of guys to kill him only after he breaks out and causes some more chaos.

Moral of the story: Oogway what the fuck.

have a snow leopard cub as a second protagonist aside from po; and also an apprentice as to rectify shifus mistake the cub being under po's wing as to not end up having another tai lung it would have like a scene with some characters hesitant to meet that kid and the villagers were scared of the kid since he or she looks like tai lung and shifu feeling emotional guilt seeing this kid
